Come'on who doesn't love a compliment. It makes your day, all day. That is what I want MJC to do, make the girl smile from ear to ear. I want her to love what she is wearing and be proud of how she looks. I want MJC to showcase the sweetness of the child. I try to keep the silhouettes simple for that reason, it's not about the fancy embroidery, it is about the darling girl wearing it. I want your little girl not to fight with you on what to wear, I want her to be comfortable and I want her to be happy! And that is it.

Made my day that this order arrived…..hmmmm…. do we wear this to practice tonight just to show off the new line???? Everything is so perfect OOOOHHHH the Raven skirt ROCKS!!!! AND a key tag too!!! And I think the coolest place for the key tag is in my hand!
Took the family out yesterday to run some errands. Ashley (2 1/2) was proudly wearing her Raven Skirt, Dance Me Silly tank and Mossy Willow. I am not exaggerating when I say it took us at least 45 minutes longer to get through Costco than it would have because we were stopped by soooo many people commenting on her gorgeous clothes. I lost track at how many times I gave out your website and explained “trunk keepers”. Of course my little fashion model was more than happy to stop and twirl for everyone who was interested, and even some who weren’t. She literally would say to people passing us, “do you see my skirt?”. Anyway, thought this story was too cute not to share. Thanks Denise for continually designing and creating such gorgeous clothing!
I love that her little boy has long hair. My Jase has the same hair and he gets called a girl a lot. He’s 3 and won’t even let us talk about cutting it.

oh my! i’ve never been so excited to see my ups man! (well except for when sparkletown and gypsy blue came out!) anyway, my hammond bay order arrived today!!! everything is beautiful!!! can’t wait to go home and try everything on both my daughter and myself! and keeping my fingers crossed that my second order arrives early next week!

Denise – you continually out do yourself! This line is gorgeous!!!!!!! Our order just came today, key tag and all. My 2-1/2 year old got excited just seeing the box (yes, she already knows the MJ label ~ lol). Once opened, she immediately ripped off her clothes and started trying on all her new things, saying “it’s so beautiful”, over and over again. Thanks for adding some sunshine into our day in this otherwise, cold and gray Michigan winter.

I love this whole key tag thing, Denise! Although I don’t think I was one of the first 4500 orders, I will keep the force with me that by some hallelujah miracle I get one in my order!

THAT is the cutest idea ever! I totally remember these key tags from when I was younger and going on trips in the summer with my parents. LONG before the key cards started! Funny how something so small can bring back such great memories.

I wish I had a great story, but I really don't. It is quite simple actually; one day a friend of mine said I should make clothing so I did.
I wish I could say I started because I could not find any cute clothes for my kids, but surely that is not a problem. I wish I could say I am a "designer", but I pretty much just consider myself a girl who can't stop her brain from spinning.
The one thing I do not have to wish for is a great family and group of friends. These guys are what makes Matilda Jane rock. They are loyal and well-loved. They are also very patient for putting up with me and the ventures I pursue, sometimes on a whim. Oh, I do love them all.
