Come'on who doesn't love a compliment. It makes your day, all day. That is what I want MJC to do, make the girl smile from ear to ear. I want her to love what she is wearing and be proud of how she looks. I want MJC to showcase the sweetness of the child. I try to keep the silhouettes simple for that reason, it's not about the fancy embroidery, it is about the darling girl wearing it. I want your little girl not to fight with you on what to wear, I want her to be comfortable and I want her to be happy! And that is it.

Congrats to all~ I am more excited to see the picture of Ava..in her HOCKEY gear`! We are a hockey family and it is my dream for my daughter to play ice hockey..lol So sad I am not goning to be coming to 435 for the art fair and meet the boys and Ava..

I really like the idea about using the song “Beautiful” on your site, let’s face it that song was truely a huge hit with all us MJ fans!! Congratulations to the winner – darling video. However, I have to say I was disappointed to see that the others that had made it to the final 5 (6) did not receive any kind of an award. Adjustments seemed to have been made along the way – 14 instead of the top 10; 6 instead of 5 finalists, and yet at the end, only the top 3 received any kind of an award or prize. I would have liked to have seen the other finalists receive a gift certificate also.
I knew one of the people that made it to the top 10 (top 12?) last year and all of them got some free clothing. Perhaps Denise plans to do that again this year as all of the top 14 deserve prizes!

I am a lucky girl!! I feel so honored to have even made the top 10, but to actually win is just beyond me. I loved every one of the entries and wish we could ALL go just so I could meet the amazing women behind all of the soulful ideas. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I just think it’s heartwarming to see so many people get behind such a wonderful company and give it their best shot. I don’t know that any of us did it for the prize in the end (well, maybe a little.) I like to think there are just a lot of “Loyal Royals” out there who want to share their love with a company that just keeps on giving. What an unbelievable group of women! I don’t know what the ground rules where for the contest, but I thought the winner was chosen by vote after narrowing it down to 14 out of 400. Then the pick was down to 5 out of 400. I’m not sure why it was narrowed down to 5 and then only 3 received an award for their efforts. It seems like the final 5 could all have received some type of award. I was disappointed that 2 of the top 5 didn’t receive anything at all!!

I wish I had a great story, but I really don't. It is quite simple actually; one day a friend of mine said I should make clothing so I did.
I wish I could say I started because I could not find any cute clothes for my kids, but surely that is not a problem. I wish I could say I am a "designer", but I pretty much just consider myself a girl who can't stop her brain from spinning.
The one thing I do not have to wish for is a great family and group of friends. These guys are what makes Matilda Jane rock. They are loyal and well-loved. They are also very patient for putting up with me and the ventures I pursue, sometimes on a whim. Oh, I do love them all.
