I hope you’ve all had a wonderful holiday season filled with family, friends, and lots of yummy food and wine! I know I did. But after all of the decadence of the holidays, I always welcome January. It’s a fresh start, a new beginning. Resolutions are in place, and although I love a good snow day, my mind is already starting to wander to spring. Well, if your mind is starting to wander, too, you’re in luck. In just a few short weeks we will be launching the Spring 2015 Collection, Hello, Lovely!
This is super exciting for me because it’s my first season with MJC. Remembering back to my first few weeks seems like so long ago. Even before that I can remember meeting with Denise and Sam. I came by Denise’s house on one of my first trips to Fort Wayne. She and Sam had just come back from Tokyo. Laid before them on the kitchen table were piles and piles of the most gorgeous buttons, ribbons, fabrics, and zippers. Yes, even the zippers were adorable! You’ll see our interpretation of these gems in the Hello, Lovely! collection. Along with these delicious little details, Hello, Lovely! is overflowing with florals in every color, size, and shape; and not just for girls. You’ll also see these details in women’s and, of course, our new tween line.
Tweens! We are so excited to offer a new collection just for sizes 8-14. The little ladies who have grown up with us will still be able to wear Matilda Jane with a new collection designed just for her. With all of the charm and personality of the original MJC collection, 435 has a decidedly more grown up feel. But not too grown…. girls should be girls, of course, no matter their age!
Just thinking of spring, I can feel the air getting a little bit warmer, and the trees turning a little greener, and see the flower buds begin to appear. Hello, Lovely! is kind of a beckoning to Mother Nature. Hello, Lovely! We’re ready for you. We’ve been waiting for your sweet smelling flowers, and even your spring showers. The optimism of this new life is what was inspiring for spring, and I hope you feel it when you see the new collections.
