Heather Pearce of Kingwood, TX
Q: Please tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from and where are you now?
A: Hi I am Heather Pearce and I am MJC Trunk Keeper #481 from Kingwood, TX. My husband, Alex & I both grew up in Kingwood. We began dating right after I graduated from college in 2000. We had an instant connection and moved to Paris about 9 months later. After a year in Paris, we ended up in Houston. I worked in Quality Control for a company that manufactured hard drives. When we found out we were pregnant with twins, we decided to move back to Kingwood to be close to our families. After I had the twins, I choose to become a stay at home mom. About two years ago, I started to design pools for my brother-in-laws pool company. When the opportunity came to become a Trunk Keeper, I just knew it would be a perfect fit for me & my family.
Q: I always love to hear about the incredible husbands that support the crazy schedule of a MJ Trunk Keeper. What makes your so special?
A: Alex is the most supportive person I know. He is always by my side, cheering me on whether I’m running a race, being a mommy, designing a pool or heading to a trunk show! He is such a great daddy to our kids and a fabulous husband. This August we will celebrate 10 wonderful years of marriage.
Q: My favorite thing to talk about is my kids. Tell us about YOURS.
A: We have 6 year old twins, Nathan & Emma, and our spunky 2 year old Sarah. Nathan is such a sweet & caring little boy, who always makes people laugh and he loves karate. Emma is the best little & big sister. She is like a little mommy and helps me out so much around the house. Her passion is gymnastics and I just love watching her tumble & flip everywhere she goes. Sarah may only be 2, but she thinks she’s 6 and can do anything her brother & sister do! Her big personality was just what our family needed!
Q: If you could wear one item every day, what would that be?
A: My Ugg slippers! My feet are always cold and these slippers are so comfy and keep my feet warm!
Q: How did Matilda Jane find YOU?
A: The twins Mother’s Day Out teacher had 3 boys and one day asked me if I had ever heard of Matilda Jane. She said that she buys it for her niece and that I should check out the website. As soon as I saw the clothes online, I contacted her Trunk Keeper, Lisa Paul, and signed up right away to host a show. I was a Jane for the first collection of Hammond Bay and have fallen in love with every collection since!
Q: Besides your family, what are you most passionate about?
A: I love running. It keeps me going. I love the exercise and just being with my own thoughts. But, what I love most is the time I get with my girl friends. It is at least a good hour of catching up with my friends and we help push each other to the finish. Since 2003 I have finished 8 marathons. This past year I ran the Santa Barbara marathon and my mom joined me for the ½ marathon. I absolutely loved sharing my passion for running with my mom and even better having a long weekend in Santa Barbara alone with her.
Q: Share with us just ONE very important thing you do to try to leave this world a better place.
A: Teaching my kids good manners and to always treat people how they want to be treated.
Q: What store makes your heart go pitter patter when you shop in it?
A: I love running and discovered Lululemon speed shorts about 5 years ago. I have been addicted to their work out clothes ever since. I love walking into the store and seeing the new styles & colors. I also have to say that I love Target. My son says, “If they sold mattresses there, then we could just live there b/c they have everything we need!”
Q: If given the opportunity to have the day to yourself, how would you spend it?
A: I would love to wake up on my own without a kid or an alarm clock waking me up! Then I’d enjoy a good cup of coffee before heading outside for a nice long run. I’m not sure what I would do after that, but I do know that I’d love to walk into my house and not worry about what needs to get done before the kids get home. I’d love to just relax in a quiet house.
Q: Good Hart is a special place for Denise. What place do you hold dear to your heart?
A: Without a doubt, Paris! Alex & I had never left the country when we decided to move there for a year. The first thing we learned when our plane landed was that we needed a French to English dictionary! We took in as much as we could and enjoyed every moment. We had Thanksgiving on top of the Eiffel Tower, spent Christmas skiing in Switzerland, enjoyed the sun & beach in Nice and fell in love with Barcelona in the Spring time. One year away from our friends & family was a long time, but it was such an amazing experience. We would love to visit Paris with our kids and share a little bit of our lives over there with them.
