People keep asking if boys can come. Of course they can or else Joe and Gabe would be pretty upset. And Saturday night the common question is, can my husband come? Of course he can or else David would be a one man show. One thing for sure is that my Mint in my garden is getting huge and we are gonna have some real good Mojitos.

I’ll try to get some pics up this week of 435 so you can start feeling the excitement!! We gotta clean a bit first before I can show you!!

I must admit Sam and I have made some of the cutest dresses for 435. Pure cuteness all around. So back to the garage sale. We are having our neighborhood G-Sale this weekend and I am on a mission to find a few cute furniture pieces for our “Glamour Shots” on Friday evening during 435.  I’m super excited about this…Today, our interns Kiara and Desiree cut some tablecloths for all the tables…it’s gonna look awesome. And oh, to those of you who came last year..guess what? You know how it ended up outside?  Well, this year we moved it in the lawn next to 435. Nothing is better than a huge white tent. You feel like you are getting married all over again.

So guess where Joe, David and I are going? So dang excited, I have never been here and Lynette has been bugging me like crazy to go. She loves Paris and I think so will I!!! We are leaving the day after 435!

Kayla is working on the slide show of all the Cover Girl entrants. So you can see all the gorgeous girls yourself and see how tough it was to decide.

You know I have been thinking. Yes, I do this once in a while. I think I should have Kayla and Sam blog a bit on here too. I always feel so guilty not blogging everyday, and they would be a huge help plus they are pretty cool. Just thinking, so if you see a post that sounds a bit odd…it is certainly not me!

Tomorrow, my pal Jenni and I are heading to St Louis to see my friend Michelle. She is doing a photography workshop and we can hardly wait! Though Jenni keeps trying to one up me with great gift for Michelle. But hey, I got her a case a Boone’s Farm so I so think I got the upper hand in this competition. I’ll stop and get some Cool ranch Doritos and peanut M&M’s and Jenni will have no chance. None.

In the mean time (it seems mean should be spelled differently in this context, doesn’t it?) I know a ton of you are waiting for more details about 435.  See above for schedule of events.

Friday night is so exciting because we are excited to be  launching  the MJC Foundation. This is something David, the girls of 435, and I have been wanting to do but never were quite ready nor knew how to do. We love helping others and feel that through launching the MJC Foundation we will be able to reach and help more people. We can’t wait. So be sure to register with Sara at saras@matildajaneclothing.com, she’ll need your address for Friday night. It’s open for anyone and everyone, we do suggest a minimum donation of 10.00 (all proceeds go to the MJC Foundation).  We’ll have yummy food, drinks, and even better our very own Glamour Shots, so to speak.  Yup, we’ve brought on some hairstylist, make up artists and a few photographers (and of course Aqua net and a huge blowing fan) to do your Glamour Shot. So fun, OMG!!!

Saturday 9-4 is the art fair and then at 7 is the Post Party at my house. Adults only and you must RSVP to Sara for this.  I need to be a good hostess and have enough food, drink and chairs!!!

So we pretty much spent this weekend cleaning and digging.  Admist this cleaning I found the best little surprise from Diane.

Thrown into the back of my car is a bunch of paper and stuff from the office that needs to come for work or what not.  I had thought I had put a little box in that stack a while ago, but totally never saw it again.  What appeared this weekend? The cutest little owl box with this wonderful necklace. It’s almost as if it were hiding until Mother’s Day! You think?

Alright, off the the hardware store for a fence to keep the bunnies out..

I just got back from walking. Chris  (MJC Chris, Chelsa (sister n’ law), Giovanna (neighbor)) and I try to run 3/4 night a week. Well, last week Chris decided to be the running maniac and made us run real hard. Chelsa hurt her knee and so we have been trying to get back in the groove. Yes, I am blaming Chris  (LOL).  Okay, I admit it, it is a great excuse to slack. Anyways tonite when we were walking I decided since we couldn’t run I’d kick it up a bit and we’d do these knee raise things (think marching band). The result? 1. We looked like complete dorks, 2. We did get a few laughs (ha, especially when this guy drove by laughing and I yelled back “Wait till you see how great my  A$@ is gonna look )  3. MY LEGS KILL.

The fundraiser for Joe and Christy was amazing. We went over my goal of 10k which we are all thrilled about. You guys are so wonderful to help out, I can’t thank you enough. And believe it or not, my sister Dayna (Miss Coolness who once told a lady I made real old-fashioned clothes like Little House on the Prairie) got some stuff. She looked so amazing in the Juniper Dress. It may help that she is 24, gorgeous as all get out and totally in shape. But that girl, man..for real she is trying to hatch 2 goose eggs in a cage, under a light with a thermometer. Oh, gotta love her.

And one more cute little babe!!

It was in my high school years that I found out who Christy Jennings was. She was the blonde haired girl my brother hung out with. She was so dang pretty and the perfect girl next door. Oh, man, I wanted to be her. And if I am correct, she lived right by the candy store…all the better!

Flash forward to last summer; I saw Joe at a wedding for the first time in ions and he had married Christy almost 15 years prior. We chatted for a few seconds and when I left that conversation all I could think about was those 2 needed help getting a baby to share their enormous amount of love with. One thing led to another, stories were exchanged and here we are today doing the biggest fundraiser in my hometown of Cheboygan that Matilda Jane has ever had.

I could go  on and on about all the people who have helped me, gave me a shoulder to cry on, lifted me up when I was falling, and have just been true friends since the day we met.  I cannot even express how grateful I am and fortunate we are. And when it came time for Joe and Christy to finally get another round at adoption I knew in my heart of hearts that if we were in the position we would do what we can. And thanks to you all, Matilda Jane is able to help them out. They have waited so long and all I want for them is to feel the happiness and not be buried in the stress. So whatever we can do to lift that load a bit, I’m game for it. And here we have it:

I’ll need to do a post about my bike, cuz I really like it. But 2 things are holding me back, 1, my pal Ali, you know the cool one? Ya, well, she’s gonna think I am a total dork being so excited about my bike when she rocks it! And 2, my other pal, Jenni. Jenni has the cutest bike and I must admit I try to ride 4 pedals behind her so one does not compare. But hey, I just ordered lights and an improved basket so the competition is on. So once I get it all dolled up, I’ll do a little photo-shoot!!

Well, David just walked in and said it’s movie time. Man, I so wish it was. Could you imagine if the work day really ended at 5. You know, no work, no homework, no yard work. NO WORK.
