Come'on who doesn't love a compliment. It makes your day, all day. That is what I want MJC to do, make the girl smile from ear to ear. I want her to love what she is wearing and be proud of how she looks. I want MJC to showcase the sweetness of the child. I try to keep the silhouettes simple for that reason, it's not about the fancy embroidery, it is about the darling girl wearing it. I want your little girl not to fight with you on what to wear, I want her to be comfortable and I want her to be happy! And that is it.

Denise, I don’t know what you did in your past or if you are not nice all the time but what I can say is this…. of all the clothing companys I have bought for my 2 girls over the past 14 1/2 years there has never been one with so much heart behind it. You are generous and caring. When I see you…well the past two 435′s you know me by name. How many companys can I say that about? Odd you posted this, I had a dear friend of mine tell me that she loved Matilda Jane but that I was really a loyal customer. I said yep! I have bought (the others) I have sold the others. I have not went back and bought more of (the others) but for years, I just keep coming back for more and more. Honestly ~ My dd wears MJC to bed sometimes. It’s crazy!

This is what came to mind when I read this blog and looked at the pics . . . Ooooh how nice it would for this true and loyal addict to take a road trip to the 435 Art Fair in that cool blue convertible VW Bug . . . after putting on my Stillwater dress, green necklace, and loading my yellow bag with lots of $$$ to buy beautiful Art Fair pretties for my dd when I shop early with my “shop early” pink ticket from the 435 girls. . . then ending a perfect weekend by mingling with all my new MJ Addict and 435 friends while I sip on my drink that is embellished with an orange umbrella and touch of lime . . . . . . . . . . . Okay, one can dream, right?! :O) Cannot wait to see the new lookbook!

I would like to nominate someone for the little pink tree or anything you would care to share with her. She is my grandbaby girl, and she is sweet beyond measure. She is beautiful and suffers not from disease nor infirmity, but from discrimination. Because we live in very small rural NC town and she and her brother are biracial, she is looked down upon by some in my own church. As her grandmama, I want to scream at those people, “Don’t you see her beauty and grace? Notice how carefully she turned the page of a book and says “please and thank you” without being told. Can’t you see how her eyes sparkle with love for every living thing she encounters?” She is an exquisite little tan porcelain doll, and I could not have dreamt a more special child to proudly call “granddaughter”. This family definatly deserves something nice. They have a daughter 8 yrs old size 10 girls. Father works full time and goes to school at night. They have 2 boys and mom is pregnant. They are to proud to ask for anything BUT I know the little girl would be overjoyed with new clothes. She is always so excited for the smallest things and never gets anything new. I am sure that this family would really appreciate the help as the dad tends to be furlow a lot
What generous, generous folks you are! I love that you do this because it feels right to you, not because of the PR benefits. (I work in that general world and have seen companies plan their donations around the attention it will get THEM far too many times.)
But I wanted to say you really hit a chord with the email thing. I have a small business (three people small) that I intentionally run with not a lot of fancy structure, just good people doing good work. But I had a client make the unprofessional hint because my graphic designer often uses his personal email address. Oh, it hit me so hard! It must have been some deep down inferiority complex rearing it’s ugly head.
So I went straight to the folks who host my email and bought 25 more addresses for an insanely cheap price. Turns out it’s really easy to sync with your existing emails too, so everyone doesn’t have to abandon their old email address. Ah, the things we do to make ourselves feel better!

I wish I had a great story, but I really don't. It is quite simple actually; one day a friend of mine said I should make clothing so I did.
I wish I could say I started because I could not find any cute clothes for my kids, but surely that is not a problem. I wish I could say I am a "designer", but I pretty much just consider myself a girl who can't stop her brain from spinning.
The one thing I do not have to wish for is a great family and group of friends. These guys are what makes Matilda Jane rock. They are loyal and well-loved. They are also very patient for putting up with me and the ventures I pursue, sometimes on a whim. Oh, I do love them all.
