We played for a while then they invited my boys up to skate. I could go on about how proud I am of my boys but I’ll save that till another day, cuz today isn’t about me…or them.  It’s about the winners of the 435 contest. Oh, but first, let me just tell you how cute it was watching Miss Ava suit up for hockey, totally showing the boys up, and not just mine. The best part was watching her in the locker room get perfectly dressed in her MJC’s studying herself in the mirror as she placed her rose in her hair perfectly. It was so…, just neat, almost unexpected to see such a girly girl in a locker room surrounded by hockey stuff. Ahh..the Life of a Girl.

So let’s chat about 435.  We are just starting to put the details together but for those of you who needs to plan ahead, the quick lowdown is, Preview Party is Friday, June 25 from 6-9. Kids are welcomed. The art fair will be Saturday, June 26 from 9-4.  Saturday night from 6-? we will have a get together at my house, adults only.  Yes, these are pretty vague but hey, you got the dates and the times…details to come soon.

Now let’s chat about who’s gonna win the trip for 2 to 435. I’ve racked my brain on this, trying to come up with a great contest idea and I keep coming back to the same as last year. Why change a good thing, huh?  We will start taking submissions via mail (not email) on what Matilda Jane Clothing is to you. It is quite vague (my word of the day) but it really can be anything.  The contest will run April 15-30. I will post more details this week.

Okay, I know I said I would post pics of my house…but I feel dumb about it. What happens if I think it is super cool and you think I suck?  I’m so dumb that way. I need to build up the courage then I will…maybe!

We are all sleeping together now. Yup, me, Joe, Gabe and David. Everything is moved but my bed. Everything is moved and nothing is put away.

I take that back. Today my friend Anne and I dusted David’s Star Wars stuff and put it up. And we organized books.  Guess what was packed in the Star Wars stuff? Strawberry Shortcake and she was complete with the Purple PieMan and about 6 other pals, including my faves Orange Blossom and Lemon Meringue.

A few exciting things are coming your way real soon, maybe even as soon as this weekend. The girls at 435 and some of our TK’s are helping us write a newsletter. Oh, you know what. I need help, what the heck am I gonna call this newsletter thing? I thought about The 435 Folk (us) and the MJC Field ( Tk’s) but I’m not sold on it. Any ideas?  I need them quick cuz I’m supposed to get the first one out tomorrow. It’s just fun talk from the folks at 435 and a few TK’s. I think you’ll like it. I had the idea today as we were going through the carwash!!

That pretty much sums it up. My favorite thing is to see one genuinely happy.

I love the way Joe sparkles when he is happy,  the way the girls at 435 get that little smile when they get a thank you note from a customer, that little dance Gabe does when he is supper giddy, the huge smile on the the girls face at McDonalds just because I comment on her eyeshadow, the little kids in carpool when they show me their shown n’tell, my friend Renee anytime we see each other…there is too many things to list. So In short, I will say my favorite thing is when someone is happy.

And now I get to make these folks happy: Lucky Little Lady, Silly Dancer, Power Puff Mom, My little Carolina Girl, Lavri, Katie M, Erina, and Amy Ence.

UPDATE: I just realized when I looked in the mirror I had the necklace on that Lynette have me at Conference. I was having a hard time and she bought me this necklace with a  little bird and said it was a little pieces of happiness. Love that girl.

My favorites today are Wizards of Waverly Place, that I actually got Joe his Valentines delivered on time for his party, my friend Ali for that super cute post about me on her blog ( those were MY wisdom teeth), our little kitten Sam, the Miller House, McDonalds Diet Coke, my Mighty Acorn sweatshirt, the MJC girls, my job, the new pics of Hammond Bay and Sam’s Platinum re-do, and the list goes on and on. Oh, and the womb chair and Room and Board, and DWR and the Barbershop painting. And I cannot forget Gabe asking me last night if when I was a baby was I a boy or girl baby?

Lots of favorite things.

And this is how the Lovely Bird started out many months ago. Funny.

So tonite you get to guess what MY favorite is. My favorite what? My favorite anything…I’ll pick some winners tomorrow evening to get my favorite…? And sorry I can’t afford to get you all a womb chair, let alone myself…someday, maybe!

And for those of you who have inquired, Hammond Bay will not be on the site until NEXT Wednesday. I think I typed that wrong in a comment earlier… I am telling you something is wrong with my brain. I use my ATM everyday. I went to use it Monday and totally could not remember the PIN. I completely forgot. I asked David yesterday, and then went to use it today, totally forgot. I use it everyday for months..how do I forget it all of a sudden? Ahh..the mind is on overflow.

I just love these girls…see two boys are perfect for me cuz we have well over 80 MJC girls to adore!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. You are truely wonderful and appreciated. My Gramma left us just after midnight. My sister was with her.  So we’ll be up in Michigan at my mom’s for the rest of the week.  But I’ll try to give you some fun posts…try!! My little sister, Dayna, has me taking 20 hundred pics of her dog. So be warned: lots of Lucky the Dog pictures ahead!! Until then, have a great night or morning.

Elijah sent me these over the other night.  That boy is so dang gifted I can hardly handle it. He just oozes of talent and personality. Love him.

This has been such a trying week for me. Letting Goliath go was unbearable and still is. Joe and I went to get a kitten the same exact day. Joe was so sweet he asked me on the way home, “Do you think Goliath would have picked this one? You think he would like her?” Just this morning Gabe asked me when Goliath would be coming back home. We all just loved him and now we are loving little Sammy. I am so glad we got her.

On Wednesday, pre-conference meetings started and Thursday Dress Rehearsal officially began. At about 2 on Thursday I realized I had better go get a dress for the party that started at 5:30 and I still needed to run and get all the drinks and pick up the kids and so forth. On my way to drop of the stuff at the gallery my sister called and said my grandma was in hospice and didn’t have much time. Nice Deedee, the timing sucked. My gosh, I was a mess and I had little over an hour to to look presentable. Wow.

It’d been at least 2 days since I showered so I got all cleaned up and headed out the door with lots of Xanax.   I barely remember Thursday. Everything was such a blur that day. But then Friday came, and Saturday and Saturday night and things turned around.  When one asks me “how do you do it all?” And my reply is, “I don’t”,  I really should be saying, “I surround myself with the most amazing and caring people.”  This week surely did suck but had Dress Rehearsal not been this week I would have been a ball curled up in a corner sobbing.  All the girls from 435, the great set of Team Leaders, Lynette, Kayla and David and all the Trunk Keepers, old and new, they all saved me this weekend. They really are the reason I can do what I do. They are the ones that keep me inspired and dreaming big. Without them and you there is no big dream.  Thank you.

I have so  much more to share with you. I’m heading up to see my Gramma tomorrow with Gabe and when I get back I’ll tell you all the great Dress Rehearsal stories and maybe even share a few pictures. Yup, and show you some of Sammy.  Shoot, did you know my camera is not working? I’m pretty sad about that too. I’m pathetic huh? But my dear friend Michelle is having a workshop and I so wanna go. And then Amanda and Kara are having a workshop that I would love to go to also.  Not that I am even capable of being near the level that they are, but to just see them in action and hear their passion in inspiring. I love it.

And rumor on the street is a huge whale of a sale is to be announce soon. We’ll give you a heads up but next week sometimes.  We’ve got Hammond Bay coming in and need to make some room. Oh, and i have told you how much I love Hammond Bay.  The HomeGrown Collection has been my fave for such a long time…I adored the Ginger Knot dress in that collection, but let me tell you Pepper knocks her socks off!!

Oh, ya…that’s my girl. Love Pepper. Love it. Love that it ties in the back, love that it has a removable apron. Love it. My very first knots had aprons that buttoned on but after about 100 dresses my hand got pretty darn tired of sewing 3 buttons on each. I loved the idea that one could inter-change the apron or remove if they wished.  I’ve been meaning to bring it back for a few season but for Hammond bay I got my wish. I hope you like.

Talk about love. These two are the sweetest brother/sister duo. HE came to watch her as Michelle was shooting. You could just see his eyes light up looking at his lil’s sis. Of course we had to include him in the shoot. He is way to handsome not too.
