Ava was so sweet. Her mom made the mistake of telling her we had a “splash pad” if you know what that is. Me, I call it holes in the cement that squirt water. Well, she has been dying to come over. I should’ve had my camera when she jumped out of the car in her little MJC Knickers, sparkly shoes, Hammond Bay tee, hulla hoop and topped of with a big rose in her hair. Oh, Ava love that girl.

We played for a while then they invited my boys up to skate. I could go on about how proud I am of my boys but I’ll save that till another day, cuz today isn’t about me…or them. It’s about the winners of the 435 contest. Oh, but first, let me just tell you how cute it was watching Miss Ava suit up for hockey, totally showing the boys up, and not just mine. The best part was watching her in the locker room get perfectly dressed in her MJC’s studying herself in the mirror as she placed her rose in her hair perfectly. It was so…, just neat, almost unexpected to see such a girly girl in a locker room surrounded by hockey stuff. Ahh..the Life of a Girl.

I am proud to say I think I have graduated from the Beginner level to Easy. Yup, I have pretty much mastered the singing on Rock Band. And I am quite proud of myself. Joe says I am good. Gabe and David, well they just give me strange looks.

So let’s chat about 435. We are just starting to put the details together but for those of you who needs to plan ahead, the quick lowdown is, Preview Party is Friday, June 25 from 6-9. Kids are welcomed. The art fair will be Saturday, June 26 from 9-4. Saturday night from 6-? we will have a get together at my house, adults only. Yes, these are pretty vague but hey, you got the dates and the times…details to come soon.

Now let’s chat about who’s gonna win the trip for 2 to 435. I’ve racked my brain on this, trying to come up with a great contest idea and I keep coming back to the same as last year. Why change a good thing, huh? We will start taking submissions via mail (not email) on what Matilda Jane Clothing is to you. It is quite vague (my word of the day) but it really can be anything. The contest will run April 15-30. I will post more details this week.

Okay, I know I said I would post pics of my house…but I feel dumb about it. What happens if I think it is super cool and you think I suck? I’m so dumb that way. I need to build up the courage then I will…maybe!

We are all sleeping together now. Yup, me, Joe, Gabe and David. Everything is moved but my bed. Everything is moved and nothing is put away.

I take that back. Today my friend Anne and I dusted David’s Star Wars stuff and put it up. And we organized books. Guess what was packed in the Star Wars stuff? Strawberry Shortcake and she was complete with the Purple PieMan and about 6 other pals, including my faves Orange Blossom and Lemon Meringue.

Room Keys!

And a little key tag. I’ve gotta tell you the backstory first. David and I were in Nebraska wasting time in a thrift store. I found an old Howard Johnson Key Tag. It was one of the cutest things I had seen in a long time. I bought it. I kept looking at it and finally realized I needed more. I really didn’t feel like collecting them so I made them. And the best part is, I made them for you.

The girls will put them in every Hammond Bay order while supplies last. Love it, enjoy it and most importantly save it. I will be randomly posting numbers on my blog. If you number is posted simply email us with a photo of your key tag somewhere cool and we’ll in turn send you something cool.

Daydream Believer

Pure happiness at this house. It has been just under a year since we’ve been trying to buy the house down the street. Yesterday, while I was in Las Vegas with Lynette, David called and said we got it. Wow, it is like disbelief. The funny thing is , some of you have actually seen it before it was mine. We had the keys and even the utilities in our name for a while now. I just couldn’t let it set there and get that empty feeling. This is the most amazing feeling, to want something so bad, to push for it and push, and finally get it. And I may sound odd, cuz i am not spiritual, well okay a bit, but I swear a greater force had a lot to do with it than just luck. Cuz it seriously wasn’t luck. So when you all come to 435 on June 25th and 26th, I’ll take you to see it. I like it. And you are all welcome to visit!! WOW

A few exciting things are coming your way real soon, maybe even as soon as this weekend. The girls at 435 and some of our TK’s are helping us write a newsletter. Oh, you know what. I need help, what the heck am I gonna call this newsletter thing? I thought about The 435 Folk (us) and the MJC Field ( Tk’s) but I’m not sold on it. Any ideas? I need them quick cuz I’m supposed to get the first one out tomorrow. It’s just fun talk from the folks at 435 and a few TK’s. I think you’ll like it. I had the idea today as we were going through the carwash!!

Alright ladies (and a few of you guys) I’ve gotta get back to work. We’ve got some exciting stuff heading your way and the sooner I get to work the sooner I can tell you all about it.

Hello Hammond Bay

And the fun is just beginning. We are all so excited for the launch of Hammond Bay today! And because we love putting a little smile on your face and bounce in you step let’s have a contest. Too many too list

I thought about it all night. Why the heck do I ask such tricky questions that I myself cannot answer. I figured it out with one comment left by the Lucky Little Lady when she said “I’m sure you have a lot of favorites. But one of your most favorite, must be hearing about the joy YOU give a little girl and her family by them getting a totally unexpected package in the mail when everything else in the world is going wrong for them.”

That pretty much sums it up. My favorite thing is to see one genuinely happy.

I love the way Joe sparkles when he is happy, the way the girls at 435 get that little smile when they get a thank you note from a customer, that little dance Gabe does when he is supper giddy, the huge smile on the the girls face at McDonalds just because I comment on her eyeshadow, the little kids in carpool when they show me their shown n’tell, my friend Renee anytime we see each other…there is too many things to list. So In short, I will say my favorite thing is when someone is happy.

And now I get to make these folks happy: Lucky Little Lady, Silly Dancer, Power Puff Mom, My little Carolina Girl, Lavri, Katie M, Erina, and Amy Ence.

UPDATE: I just realized when I looked in the mirror I had the necklace on that Lynette have me at Conference. I was having a hard time and she bought me this necklace with a little bird and said it was a little pieces of happiness. Love that girl.
