Drumroll please…

Ava was so sweet.  Her mom made the mistake of telling her we had a “splash pad” if you know what that is. Me, I call it holes in the cement that squirt water. Well, she has been dying to come over. I should’ve had my camera when she jumped out of the car in her little MJC Knickers, sparkly shoes, Hammond Bay tee, hulla hoop and topped of with a big rose in her hair. Oh, Ava love that girl.

We played for a while then they invited my boys up to skate. I could go on about how proud I am of my boys but I’ll save that till another day, cuz today isn’t about me…or them.  It’s about the winners of the 435 contest. Oh, but first, let me just tell you how cute it was watching Miss Ava suit up for hockey, totally showing the boys up, and not just mine. The best part was watching her in the locker room get perfectly dressed in her MJC’s studying herself in the mirror as she placed her rose in her hair perfectly. It was so…, just neat, almost unexpected to see such a girly girl in a locker room surrounded by hockey stuff. Ahh..the Life of a Girl.

I have to tell you, this was extremely hard. I seriously have been sitting here at this computer for over 2 hours trying to type this post. Congrats to all~ I am more excited to see the picture of Ava..in her HOCKEY gear`! We are a hockey family and it is my dream for my daughter to play ice hockey..lol So sad I am not goning to be coming to 435 for the art fair and meet the boys and Ava.. :(

I really like the idea about using the song “Beautiful” on your site, let’s face it that song was truely a huge hit with all us MJ fans!! Jami, I’m so happy for you I really enjoyed what you did, you truely captured a day in the life of a MJ girl!! Your photos were so sweet especially the 2 girls sharing in some fun together. Just an idea, Denise: I think it would be really fun and totally awesome to upload the “Beautiful” song to your website, for at least a little while, as part of being runner up. Congratulations to the winner – darling video. However, I have to say I was disappointed to see that the others that had made it to the final 5 (6) did not receive any kind of an award. Adjustments seemed to have been made along the way – 14 instead of the top 10; 6 instead of 5 finalists, and yet at the end, only the top 3 received any kind of an award or prize. I would have liked to have seen the other finalists receive a gift certificate also.

I knew one of the people that made it to the top 10 (top 12?) last year and all of them got some free clothing. Perhaps Denise plans to do that again this year as all of the top 14 deserve prizes!

I am a lucky girl!! I feel so honored to have even made the top 10, but to actually win is just beyond me. I loved every one of the entries and wish we could ALL go just so I could meet the amazing women behind all of the soulful ideas. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I just think it’s heartwarming to see so many people get behind such a wonderful company and give it their best shot. I don’t know that any of us did it for the prize in the end (well, maybe a little.) Congratulations to the winner and also to the other 4 runner ups. I don’t know what the ground rules where for the contest, but I thought the winner was chosen by vote after narrowing it down to 14 out of 400. Then the pick was down to 5 out of 400. I’m not sure why it was narrowed down to 5 and then only 3 received an award for their efforts. It seems like the final 5 could all have received some type of award. I was disappointed that 2 of the top 5 didn’t receive anything at all!!
