Live with Soul

Let me start with, I don’t think my desk has ever been this messy. It’s covered in Fall 2013 color ideas, sketches and just stuff. I think every time I move the slightest, another pieces of paper falls to the floor or mysteriously disappears.  How I function this way I have no idea. I remember last year, I was at the doctor and really thinking I needed some ADD medicine. He said ” Now, Denise, I could give you some but I am quite concerned it may play with your creative thinking.” I probably shouldn’t have quoted that, but it was pretty close to what he said.  Anyhow, here I sit amidst chaos but feeling right at home!

Before the rambling begins you all know what the 31st is, right? Yes, the launch of Live with Soul but also the huge car auction in Auburn, IN. You know, my first year at the auction, I was sue that day with Joe. I was so convinced I was going to go into labor at the auction and they would give me a free car. Yup, never happened but we have gone every year since.

We are all quite excited for this! I am certain this year I will find a great neon sign. I may have no place to put it besides at MJC but I am sure the girls won’t mind. One year, we actually bid on a Volkswagon Karmagia. Ya, we lost!

And what else is new in Denise land? Not much. The boys started school…finally. It is so nice to have a routine again. David decided we are going to start eating gluten free to see if it helps Joe’s  (ever so moody) behavior. Anne and I are back to insanity again now that the summer insanity has left.  I keep trying to do Isaganix but I am having commitment problems. Soon.  4031 is quickly filling up. We got a new graphic designer, Ryan and a new gal to head up sourcing (so happy about this), Amy.  The office got a new customer service gal, Mary. Only problem is, lack of desks. But I’ve got a few days to get that one figured out.  Hmmm…and I think that’s it.

Now back to the blog, with my contest about my reply to what my dream is…..well, I’ve been bouncing back and forth cuz the only 2 people that got it right were 2 Trunk Keepers that heard me at Conference and I didn’t think that was all that fair. So … we’ll have to do a take 2 sometime soon.

You know who this is? Well, this is the girl who emailed me back, it seems quite some time ago about clothing for some children who her brother works with. Well, of course we said yes, and from time to time we checked in with each other. A few months ago,  she emailed telling me the story of the foundation her family and friends had set up to help the children in Kitale, Kenya.  Charlotte shared the story of how they were raising money to build a home for 100 more children. I really wanted to reach out to each of you for help but in my heart I felt this is something I wanted to do as Matilda Jane. You guys give and give. You have helped with so much and for so many. This time I really wanted Matilda Jane to be the force behind the dream.  David and I chatted for a bit, well, 5 minutes. He looked at me, and said “Of course”.  And here’s the rest of the story

Be sure to like them on FB  cuz come the end of November you’ll see lots of familiar…

I saw this the other day in a Tom’s catalog. And let me tell you, David saying he was totally on board with me inviting 20 friends blew me away. Just watching my friends and family as I invited them on the journey light up with disbelief and the anticipation of counting down the days has me smiling everyday. (sorry that didn’t make much sense, but David is at my shoulder, Joe across form me and Gabe  is just being Mr cuteness.) And what makes me just a tad bit happier is that, I know these 20 gals (and a few boys) will spread the word of the trip and  help build  a brighter future for so many children. Oh, I am so happy. Thank you!

Denise: You & David are utterly amazing & truly special. I love that you’re making a real difference in the lives of those who may not be as fortunate, and having fun -the trip!- doing it. Your generous spirit of giving is inspiring, and I feel privileged to be supporting you & a company like MJC :-). I am *so* happy & excited for you!

Hi Denise- just wanted to say good luck with the gluten free. My son started at the beginning of this year, and what a difference it has made for us! There is a great magazine called Living Without. It has great gluten free recipies!! Hit up Trader Joes also- awesome selection and everything there is marked very clearly- so no guessing.. It took a while (about 3 months to see results) but things are better now. Also maybe use a probiotic to speed up the gluten removal from the body. We used florajen. There is also a great gluten free shampoo/body care line for kids called original sprout- geez- I could go on and on- I think I read to many books on this subject… good luck- and can not wait for Friday!

Denise, I’m not exactly sure what the “dream” you’re referring to was… but I can tell you, this sounds like a dream come true to me. I’ve always said my goal in life is to make sure I’m remembered once I’m gone. This project, and your share the love trip to share the love with Children who haven’t had any sounds like just that… a Dream come true. Many Blessings.

Think of it as organized clutter. Before I became a SAHM I worked in a pediatric dental office. I was the finacial coordinator and on any given day I had about 3-4 diffent piles on the floor. It worked for

I am so in awe of your continued giving it is such an inspiration. One day I am going to go on that trip to Africa with MJ. Hopefully the timing will be right when another auction comes along and that trip is one of the items up for bid. I know it would be an emotional life changing experience.

Never Change.

Denise- If you see this- email me. I’ve got some ideas that might help with Joe but there are questions that come before I tell you the ideas (because it may be irrelevant). What have you tried thus far, other than gluten free? and in a totally different topic- AWESOME about the trip. I hope you all have a fabulous time. Africa is on my bucket list. I figure I’ll get there before I’m 5O.
