Meet Trunk Keeper, Amanda C.

Our Trunk Keepers really are the heart of Matilda Jane. Their stories are all so unique – and they are all so heartfelt, too. Lucky for us … our Trunk Keepers love sharing them!

“I have to share this, because someone else’s dream depends on it,” Team Leader Amanda Clark says.

We love that so much … it gives us goosebumps!! And we love Amanda’s story, too! If you’ve ever maybe, kinda, sorta considered joining us as a Trunk Keeper, you have to hear her story!

Amanda was first introduced to Matilda Jane eight years ago, when her first daughter was just a baby. She instantly fell in love with the clothes … and quickly after, the company. She felt deeply connected to Matilda’s Jane mission and often daydreamed about leaving her full-time teaching job and becoming a Matilda Jane Trunk Keeper.

“I love teaching, but I was using all my patience up during the day with my school kids and giving my family the leftovers. I had this dream that maybe I could do something different. That little seed grew bigger, and bigger, and bigger.”

It was Amanda’s husband, Jason, who convinced her to take the leap after doing the math, crunching the numbers, and encouraging her she could be as successful as she wanted to be in this new venture. And successful she was! One year after becoming a TK with Matilda Jane, Amanda was building her team and was able to leave her full-time job.

“My original ‘why’ was that I wanted to stay home full time, but I also wanted something just for me, that would make me feel accomplished. Part of that feels a little selfish, but now that I’m raising two little girls, it feels so empowering. Whether they decide to stay home or work, I will be their biggest cheerleader. I want them to know their future can look exactly like they want it to.”

Fourteen seasons in, Amanda has built a thriving business with Matilda Jane. She has built a team of more than 30 women. And helping them realize their own dreams is now her biggest reward. What does she tell those women on her team? What does she want to tell YOU?

“I believe in you. I believe if this is something you desperately want to do you will make it work. You will make time for it. You will put the work in to be successful. It’s the best YES I’ve made. I’m inviting you to join us in our pursuit of making women and girls feel beautiful one twirl at a time. Will you say YES?”

If you believe in our mission, and are an entrepreneur at heart, we would love for you to join us. Learn more at MatildaJaneClothing/JoinUs.

When I Grow Up, I Want To Be A…

With summer winding down, and the Target school section busier than ever, we almost can’t handle the excitement we have for our newest collection, Choose Your Own Path! This little bundle of love will speak to you and even give you that little pep in your step. It will inspire you to reach for the stars and to explore all kinds of possibilities. Something we so love is hearing the hopes and dreams of all your kiddos and even you. It not only inspires us here at home office, but also inspires the clothing in future collections, and that is just what this season is all about.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Surely you have heard or been asked this question countless times, and we can’t help but think of the sparkle in that cutie’s eye when she starts to elaborate on her grand plans. There is something so special and really quite inspiring to hear how these amazing little people want to change the world! Today we are inviting you, our amazing customers, to share with us your hopes, dreams, aspirations and more with our first pretty printable of the season. We had such a blast with this with our models at the photo shoot and cannot wait to see what your cuties want to be when they grow up. You never know, they might just might be showcased by us. ☺

Click here to download your printable today! Be sure to snap your own sweet pics of your gal with it, and share them with us on Instagram by tagging @MatildaJaneClothing & #ChooseYourOwnPath. For now, we’d like to leave you with some great words from F. Scott Fitzgerald,

“For what it’s worth… it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want. You can chance or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again.”

Ciao for now,

Choose Your Own Path

Hello, everyone! I’m so excited to give you a little sneak peek at our new Fall collection. This season is so, so special because we got our inspiration from our most favorite place: all of your gorgeous gals!

It all started a little over a year ago. We were at our Fall TK conference, Dress Rehearsal, prepping for our big fashion show. One of us was getting a little model dressed and lovingly called her a “princess.” She turned right back around and said, “I’m not a princess; I’m a superhero.” We all instantly fell in love with her and her spirited spunk.

It was such a moment for all of us. We loved this idea that little girls can become anything they wanted to be, that they have all the choices, all the paths. From there, our “Choose Your Own Path” story was born.

The first part of the story you will see unfold is back to school. Even as a kid, I’ve always loved back to school – getting your new notebooks and pencils, backpack and sneakers. With our back-to-school collection, we wanted to give her all the tools she needs for a successful year.

That sentiment really comes across in the prints. You’re going to see so many special prints Maggie created for us. There’s a scientist print, a musician print, an artist print – again, they all go back to inspiring her to explore her interests and find her own path.

The story absolutely is part of new arrivals for Baby and Tween – and even Women. Our Women’s assortment is really strong this season – with so many new pieces for Fall. There will be a few fun surprises, too. Look for jeans (real denim jeans!) and some favorite heritage silhouettes, too.

We can’t wait to see all your littles in the new collection!

It all arrives August 1!!

~ Madeline

Do you have adult clothing?

Hemangi - July 27, 2018 - 2:01 pm

Any chance MJC will consider releasing petites for women?
I am barely 5′ and 100 lbs. Even XS looks roomy on me. I love the women’s styles and prints but can only consider the tween collection just due to sizing! PETITE please! ~HS

Absolutely in love! Every time August comes around I remember the times my Grandma would take us back-to-school shopping. She would let us pick out any outfit we wanted and it was this little-girls most anticipated shopping trip of the year. 🙂 I am so excited to see the new prints! My daughter desires to be a missionary when she grows up, but loves to dance, paint, and do science experiments. I’m sure she will have a hard time choosing. Much love!
