It’s like a swarm of gorgeous girls here. A few more cuts and a few more envelopes and we are almost there!
Ava was so sweet. Her mom made the mistake of telling her we had a “splash pad” if you know what that is. Me, I call it holes in the cement that squirt water. Well, she has been dying to come over. I should’ve had my camera when she jumped out of the car in her little MJC Knickers, sparkly shoes, Hammond Bay tee, hulla hoop and topped of with a big rose in her hair. Oh, Ava love that girl.
We played for a while then they invited my boys up to skate. I could go on about how proud I am of my boys but I’ll save that till another day, cuz today isn’t about me…or them. It’s about the winners of the 435 contest. Oh, but first, let me just tell you how cute it was watching Miss Ava suit up for hockey, totally showing the boys up, and not just mine. The best part was watching her in the locker room get perfectly dressed in her MJC’s studying herself in the mirror as she placed her rose in her hair perfectly. It was so…, just neat, almost unexpected to see such a girly girl in a locker room surrounded by hockey stuff. Ahh..the Life of a Girl.
“From school time, play time, party time to anytime; the world of girls reminds me of Matilda Jane. Every last one of them, unique, full of color and always unpredictable.” – Jami Davis
And there you have it, the winner of the 435 Contest, Jami Davis and her video Life of a Girl. Congratulations Jami and we can hardly wait to meet you!!! And for my 2 runner up’ers you get a $300 gift card for some MJC goods. So head on over to 435 …. or order it up ….either way you get $300 on us. Oh, who are you?? Well, a huge congrats to “Beautiful” and “Mallory and Kate!!!”
I have to tell you, this was extremely hard. I seriously have been sitting here at this computer for over 2 hours trying to type this post. I wanted all of you to win, they were all so perfect in different ways. Thank you so much for all your time and effort. Thank you and we hope to see you all at 435!!!
Yes, and I even read a book today, thanks to a wonderful customer. I am telling you when we opened these books at the the office we all freaked…and today I started putting one of them to good use! We lived on Pembroke Lane for 12 years. Loved that place, my house was awesome and the backyard was so small and cozy. We’d spend all day inside in the A/C and we’d hang out in the back all night till the wee hours. Now that we have moved, we have been spending all day outside. It is glorious. I’m still trying to get the backyard together for the 435 Saturday night party (detail tomorrow, I promise).
And the best part about it is it is only 5 minute bike ride to Pembroke Lane. So it is still in the great ‘ole neighborhood!
Yes, I know you are waiting to hear the Top 5 (Top 6 actually…because 5th and 6th were within just 1 vote of each other). But for real, you gotta know how hard it was even to pick the top 14. WOW. We are so flattered by all the time and effort you all put into this contest, thank you. It means a lot to us. And of the top 14 you guys voted to make up the Top 5. In random order let me present to you (drum roll)…..
Mallory and Kate, Compliments, Beautiful, Life of a Girl, Patchwork, and Dad
We got a lot of thinking to do and tomorrow we’ll pick ya a winner! And the CoverGirl, my gosh this is hard. I have gone through at least 8-900 photos, read some of the best comments and fell in love with the sweetest girls over the past few days. I still have another tub to go through. Wonder how I pick? Well, I open all the envelopes, read them, lay them out on a table for a while, do whatever, come back to the table, take a few away, and repeat. I then call Joe in to see what he thinks, and then Gabe and then David. We usually all end up at least picking one of the same in every round. Here is a picture after about 10 or so rounds…of all the ones we agreed on together. It’s still on my table waiting to cut back more…and we still have at least 500+ pics to go through!!!
