I love to open emails like this, you know the ones filled with pics of a sweet girl on her Birthday, love ’em. Thank you Loree!!

And tomorrow you’ll be able to look at lots of new pretty pics on our website. I’ve almost got them done. Almost. Sam totally kicked my A$& and got Platinum done before me. After Lyra sent us the cool pics, we were totally inspired to clean up Platinum a bit. And that was solely Sam’s job from start to finish. Though I do believe she is learning to delegate cuz I know Kiera was taking pics last week and Sara today.

It took me so long to learn to delegate. We just had this discussion the other day at 435. There was no way I’d even let a note leave the office without my handwriting let alone trust someone to pack a gift. Ahhh..how things have changed.ย  And wow, what I have learned.

Now I must continue on loading pics of Hammond Bay.

And thanks for all the hope, but looks like my wish list needs to be dumped!!

christine - February 9, 2010 - 5:44 pm

Can not wait to see. It’s like a little glimmer of spring peeking through.

K Squared Mommy - February 9, 2010 - 5:56 pm

I’m so excited to see the pics! It will be a Happy Wednesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Kelly M - February 9, 2010 - 5:59 pm

My husband is TOTALLY into the Mid-century Mod furniture. We splurged on a classic Eames chair, but he ordered 2 knock-off womb chairs for 1/3 the price of 1. Usually not one for Knock offs, but couldn’t bear to spend that much. Knock off is still VERY comfy like the womb chair. You might check it out.
Can’t wait for Hammond Bay. Jerilynn is making a trip to do a show for me!! ๐Ÿ™‚

*TKJT* - February 9, 2010 - 7:35 pm

Kim - February 9, 2010 - 10:46 pm

I love the pictures. Great job! What a FRESH look. LOVE ALL THE GREEN.

Sara - February 10, 2010 - 6:50 am

Love everything! This does not bode well for my plan to just get 1 or 2 new things!

melissam - February 10, 2010 - 7:18 am

I just visited the website, and OH MY GOSH!!! So excited! Love Hammond Bay! Love all the new adult pieces! Love the option to click on multiple pictures! Love how you showed how to put different pieces together!!! For one who likes to do internet trunk shows, the new website looks fabulous!!! One question, why aren’t the boys’ pieces on Hammond Bay and just on Platinum? I think they would be a great addition to trunk shows to market to moms of both girls and boys. ๐Ÿ™‚

Chelle Belle / Alchemist - February 10, 2010 - 8:23 am

It looks so fresh. Great job, Denise! Now how to whittle down the wish list into something realistic! I love the greens, too!

tree*head - February 10, 2010 - 8:26 am

Thank you for a bit of Spring during this bad winter!

Eva - February 10, 2010 - 8:44 am

Denise - February 10, 2010 - 8:45 am

Omg, that is crazy cuz the same thing happened to me. I went to check on Joe and knelt in a huge pile of puke. How does someone through up in their sleep?
I hope Ana is feeling better.

Erin - February 10, 2010 - 10:06 am

I am LOVING the Hammond Bay Collection. It’s just gorgeous. One question- I must have the dress pictured with the HB Hat. Just wanted to make sure that it was going to be available to order. Thanks! I am so excited!

Holly's Mama - February 10, 2010 - 10:13 am

or do you think Room and Board will do a trade for some cute kids clothes? Or, should I just keep on wishing?ย  The sad thing is I haven’t even added the dining room table, the womb chair I must have or the 5 new lights I really need?Oh, and that fridge Jodi mentioned, and the dishwasher.

Here’s to wishing they traded for clothes!! And until then I’ll hit up Target. Could you imagine what it would be like to fill an online cart like that and actually check out. Wow..double wow.

Deb Stallings - February 8, 2010 - 7:07 pm

Oh Denise,
You make me laugh. You are as bad as I am. Everything I like is top dollar. I have expensive taste on a diet coke budget. Love you choices though. When are you going to do some giveaways?? :O) OMG I am one of the first posts. I cant believe it.
D

KimD in SC - February 8, 2010 - 7:11 pm

Melanie H. - February 8, 2010 - 9:41 pm

What fun to “window” shop!
That rockin’ cowhide chair for $3 Grand reminds me of the Cow Jumper…still one of our faves!
Love the new blog header!
Can’t wait for spring…

Monika - February 8, 2010 - 11:30 pm

I do the same thing with cameras and lenses… but I have nothing good to offer for trade, lol.

WhitleyKate's mom - February 9, 2010 - 8:22 am

I’ve never done a wish list online, but it sure looks fun! I do tend to make checkmarks or dog-ear pages in all of the wonderful catalogs that come to my home. It’s definitely fun to dream and dream big! I hadn’t ever heard of Room and Board, but now I have another website to look at while we are all snowed in here in Indiana! I am looking forward to making my list when Hammond Bay debuts! My poor husband! LOL

Incognito - February 9, 2010 - 8:26 am

Oh, Denise how many times have I wished to fill a cart like that, pay for it and have NO REGRETS!!! How much fun would that be!!!!! The suspense of Hammond Bay is making me crazy….

K Squared Mommy - February 9, 2010 - 8:58 am

We are anxiously awaiting Hammond Bay! We can’t wait to see it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Denise - February 9, 2010 - 9:13 am

I’d trade food and Cap’t for clothes!!
๐Ÿ™‚

Tina M - February 9, 2010 - 10:48 am

You mean people buy new furniture? If it all cost that much…no wonder why my hubby won’t buy us new stuff! :0p

Looking forward to the new line!!! LOVE what I’ve seen so far! :0)

K Squared Mommy - February 9, 2010 - 11:15 am

Yeah!! Thanks Denise! I’ve been counting down the days until Wednesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Colleen Genovese - February 9, 2010 - 11:40 am

Denise-
I do the same thing….add items to my cart….and then see the total and just laugh. The only difference is I am shopping for kids clothes:) I think I need to start playing the lottery:)

WhitleyKate's mom - February 9, 2010 - 1:45 pm

Lovin’ the new Platinum pics!

jenniV - February 9, 2010 - 4:18 pm

After our recent visit to Room&Board I fell in love with the Wegner Shell Chair. Let’s just say I got vetoed, but it’s sure great to dream!

Karen - February 10, 2010 - 10:41 am

Honestly Denise, with all your MJC success…I’m surprised you can’t just check out your cart?!? You deserve it!

royaltygirl - February 11, 2010 - 7:35 pm

Your list looks a lot like mine. I found some great “look alikes” at overstock.com! I was surprised at what they have and the great prices!

Abby Lenhardt - February 21, 2010 - 2:25 pm

Price these items out through a Knoll dealer (I saw in here somewhere you too had a love of the womb chair!) or through Herman Miller. They might be able to get you a better price, and they’re the original pieces, ironically enough. It’s like buying art…it increases in value over time:)!! Check them out…any pricing is LIST so get in touch with the rep who willgive you better pricing!!!

Denise - February 21, 2010 - 4:12 pm

Thanks, I;m on that….I’m on a furniture kick today!

The Bread Box

I really like bread boxes. I do. Everytime I see a cute one, I snatch it up. I just got this one at Target.ย  They pretty much are the cutest thing in the kitchen. Okay, next to the the microwave, mixer and salt n’ pepper shakers! Anyways my point? I love bread boxes. Imagine my surprise the other day when I open it up to make toast for the boys and there’s no bread?ย  Yes, David, after all these years, has decided bread is best kept in the fridge. Hmm..I guess I had better go buy a cute fridge. What a great excuse.

We rushed around yesterday to get to the hockey game at Miami of Ohio on time only to drive 2 hours and turn around. That dang snow. But hey, today is a new day and we’ll give it another try. I love, love the snow, maybe even a bit more than breadboxes!!

My pal, Ali, has he best blog. I love living through her. She is way too cool, I wanna be that cool but for now I’m happy with a cool friend! Okay, speaking of blogs, I read too many. These are my staples:

  1. Dirty Picasso Ride
  2. Untamed Heart
  3. Point of View Lens
  4. Paperlili
  5. The Chronicles of Windy Ridge

There’s several more but Gabe will not stop asking to go outside and if I have to say “Just in a minute” one more time,I’m gonna freak. I hate that phrase and use it way too often.

Isabella's Mom - February 6, 2010 - 9:09 am

Sorry you didn’t make it last night, but I love the picture!! It isn’t your usual quality though… ๐Ÿ˜‰
A new frig? Wait a few weeks…
We’re off to the mother/daughter event at school, we’re painting pottery. Guess what the girl has in mind?
Have a good day in the snow, Joe is probably thrilled to get to snowboard. It’s still sunny here. It’s probably holding off until Friday so we will have to cancel our trip north.
Take care.

tree*head - February 6, 2010 - 9:55 am

OOo I love bread boxes too – but mine the generic wooden one…I’ll have to go to Tar -jay and pick one up like that!
Have fun with Joe in the snow and stay warm!

After all of the disappointment with the whole picture debacle thingy, I thought of experiences some of my close friends are enduring and that brought some important things to light-things that really matter, like -the pain and devastation in Haiti, people who cannot afford to pay their oil bill and have it turned off in the dead of winter, those who are out of work and worry how to provide for their family, those who have sick littles, and the news that my oldest son ,20, is heading to Afghanistan (he is detaching from me and hasn’t called me in weeks :().

I patiently wait for the pictures of the next new line knowing it will bring me a tinge of euphoria and happiness.

We are all human and all make mistakes-especially when we suffer from mommy brain and work nonstop to bring others joy. ๐Ÿ™‚

Now I’ll get off my soapbox and let you know that I think YOU”RE cool Denise ๐Ÿ™‚

tree*head - February 6, 2010 - 9:59 am

PS…Ali IS cool!

Lori Porten - February 6, 2010 - 11:42 am

Hey! I grew up in Oxford, OH! Home of Miami University in Ohio. When I was born we lived in a house across the street from the high school. Very small town to grow up in but very unique and it was great. My parents still live there and so I am back there a few times per year. It is one of those places where you can’t go anywhere without running into someone you know. I kind of like that. It’s one of those towns where there was a big revolt when the idea of tearing down the water tower in the middle of “uptown” was first mentioned, and everyone was saddened when Bruno’s Pizza burned down. Have a great time if you make it. I just talked to my parents and they have 8 inches and more coming! Diapolos is a good local restaurant. Oh, and I love the color of your bread box!

christine - February 6, 2010 - 12:32 pm

Oh the snow! Isn’t it pretty? Especially when it is sunny outside too and it just radiates! The bummer when it melts and I see my yucky brown yard that looks so sad. Then when the tulips pop back up. SPRING! Have a wonderful day:)

Monika - February 6, 2010 - 12:38 pm

I almost bought that breadbox in green the other day!! It’s so retro looking… so I love it, lol!

Michelle Huesgen - February 6, 2010 - 4:34 pm

Your on my list too baby…actually I think you are my list…lol
but you are much more interesting than i…for sure…

Jamie Hicks - February 6, 2010 - 8:25 pm

#5 is a staple here too, LOVE Jen, she just rocks so much!

We only have one bread box and it is a constant struggle to keep Aiden from using it as a garage, ehehehe.

BTW, you need to put Samm’s blog link back up! I miss that cutie!

Jodie Goodison - February 7, 2010 - 1:55 am

Too bad you didn’t make it.. better to be safe.:) Your pic is cute.

I love bread boxes..but have to show you where you can get an awesome fridge. I’m getting one! ๐Ÿ™‚ http://bigchillfridge.com/site/

And.. now that I’m back in Canada, my kids were making me nuts being cooped up and all.. two days ago we put up a trampoline in our basement. Either I’m nuts..or I win best mother of the year award! Currently we are the most popular neighbors. Request a picture and I shall send. lol

Jodie

Jamie Hicks - February 7, 2010 - 10:37 am

shannon - February 7, 2010 - 5:33 pm

i’ve been on the hunt for a bread box for a couple of months now. and there’s been nothing that i really liked until now. thanks so much for sharing! i went to target today and snatched up the yellow one and then of course had to buy the matching paper towel holder & utensil holder. . . lol!

jenniV - February 7, 2010 - 8:26 pm

You are beyond cool my friend! Glad you finally made it to the game. Can’t wait to see pics.
