May Flowers

April Showers bring May flowers, right!? Well, here in Fort Wayne, we even had a few snow showers in April and boy we ready for a little sunshine, warm weather, and the fragrance of florals! So, to celebrate the favorite women and mothers in our life, we thought a new pretty printable was in order … Summer is one of our favorite seasons as it always filled with so much love, family, activities, and more.

This little printable is pretty simple … with some scissors, yarn, pipe cleaners, and of course, your MJ pretty printable, and you should be set to go!  As you know, we are lovers of a little pops of color and pattern at MJC, so we used some fun little extras to fancy up our flowers. 😘

step 1.      print your printable and grab  your scissors and let the cutting begin. Feel free to print several copies for an extra large bouquet for mom or that special someone in your life.

step 2.      we started with the holder: punch out the holes you see along the edge of the triangle pieces and lace both sides up to connect them to make a cone. We used yarn, but feel free to use ribbon, string or even strips of fabric to connect them together. Once your holder is finished, secure your blue gingham handle at the top with tape or glue.

step 3.     time for your flowers! once your flowers are cut out, feel free to decorate and layer as desired. We used jewels, pom-poms, buttons, and more to add a little something special to each bloom. Feel free to use whatever you fancy! It’s your turn to make it your own.

step 4.     whether it is those sweet paper straws or pipe cleaners, the options are endless when it comes to securing your flower(s) to their stem.

step 5.     collect your flowers to build your bouquet and enjoy your little bundle of beauty.

Ciao for now,

Let’s Go Everywhere!

Hi everyone! I can’t believe May is almost here. While last month’s release was all about the family vacation – for this release of Wish You Were Here, we are taking you on a summer road trip. This collection was really inspired by the Design Team’s collective girlhood memories — packing the up car, being in the backseat with our siblings, stopping all along the way – getting there really was so much of the fun!

This new assortment is all about easy summer styles. You are going to see lots of super-soft knits, and even the wovens have this nice soft wash. We really wanted to give everyone those effortless pieces they could just live in this summer.

We also tried to capture the free-spirited fun of summer with our new prints. There are some red, white, and blue patterns for those festive summer celebrations like Memorial Day. There’s also this really cute camera print that just screams summer. Our in-house artist, Maggie, made it even more special by using our own prints in each little camera – so sweet!

But my favorite new print has to be this little stamp print. It was designed to look like an old vintage suitcase – the ones with all the stickers of everywhere you’ve been. Ours is super special because each little stamp is a past MJC season logo. If you’ve been with the brand for any amount of time, or you’re just starting out, this is one you have to have.

In girls and baby, we have lots of sweet sister sets – dresses, tops, shorties (even a pair for baby – our first ever!) to make for easy picks and pairings all summer long.

For tween, you are going to see more athletic-inspired styles. These pieces were inspired so much by my own two girls as they are in that tween group right now, and in the summer, they have so many activities and camps – they live in easy knits and shorts. And of course, we made ours really special with some custom prints and extra-cool details.

Mom is getting lots of new options, too. It’s a mix of heritage styles we know she loves and some new introductions that she can dress up or dress down. I love the palette we’re giving her. There’s classic navy, a touch of red, a light blue gingham, and then there’s this sunny ochre that looks good on everyone and works with everything.

I can’t wait for you to see it – it all arrives May 1!

Hello, I was reading your amazing post. I have wrote a message in to Matilda Jane so I can get information on hosting a trunk show and becoming a trunk keeper. I have yet to hear back. How long does it topically take to hear back? I really think this would be an amazing career choice and journey for myself. Please please if there is anything you can do to help me. Please be in touch. I appreciate your time.

Finally getting to be a Jane for the first time ever!

I bought my daughter a lap dress from Matilda Jane off ebay when she was 2 years old. Our love for you has only grown over the past 6 years. I am so excited for the stamp print! It will be such a memorable piece, that like that second-hand lap dress, belongs in her memory chest. Love!
