Christy sent over the most amazing pic that pretty much sums up the weather here, rainy and blustery. And this is the weekend I AM planting my garden, the rain will not get in my way. A few of the girls at work seem to have a little doubt in my gardening skills which I fully admit I have not tapped into yet. I am so gonna prove them wrong. Yup, and when ya’ll come to 435 you can see for yourself the mad gardening skills I am gonna develop. I can so do this.

So we pretty much spent this weekend cleaning and digging.  Admist this cleaning I found the best little surprise from Diane.

Thrown into the back of my car is a bunch of paper and stuff from the office that needs to come for work or what not.  I had thought I had put a little box in that stack a while ago, but totally never saw it again.  What appeared this weekend? The cutest little owl box with this wonderful necklace. It’s almost as if it were hiding until Mother’s Day! You think?

Alright, off the the hardware store for a fence to keep the bunnies out..

Gardens are so much fun for the kids. The boys will love it, snakes and all:) Gotta plant some of those giant sunflowers. Our granddaughter did last year, they are no work at all, and are beautiful until fall.

I so NEED to get a necklace like that! Please tell us where it’s from!! I’ll have to get it for myself, as my husband is not a ‘gift giver’… sigh Hope your gardening went well! Sincerely, Ms. Brown Thums!

Gorgeous photos & I have requested a similar necklace for Mother’s Day this year!

Way to go on the garden! We are hoping to put on in here soon, but hubby is concerned the deer will eat it all! What did you put in your garden?

Gorgeous picture! I don’t mind planting during or right after the rain. I actually find it holds my planting easier. I love when everything starts growing….right after winter it just looks so sad and brown. Beautiful necklace…a really special piece.

My husband is an excellent gardener and that is why our back and front yards look so nice. Me? I’m a horrible gardener and if my hubby wasn’t around I would be afraid to think what our yards would look like!!! Good luck with the gardening – you CAN do it!

Farah - May 2, 2010 - 8:34 am

I planted my garden 4 weeks ago, and I had to protect it form all sorts of animals so we put a net on top of the plants. And one day we saw a snake stuck inside between the holes of the net!!! it appeared to be a good snake that protects the plants from the rats, so we just freed her back…
The pictures are amazing, and the neckless is just too darling…
