Candid Keepers #449

Introducing:

Jamie Markley of Kokomo, IN

Favorite Place:

Clearwater Beach, FL

Q:  Hey there, you know the drill.  Tell us your basic info.

A: My name is Jamie Markley. I live in Kokomo, Indiana with my husband Justin and our three little girls.

Q:  I always love to hear how people met and fell in love with their spouse.  Do share.

A:  My husband and I first met in Jr. High when I went to youth group with a friend.  We were not too impressed with each other at the time, I remember thinking he was goofy and immature. We felt differently a couple of years later and started dating our freshman year in high school and have been together ever since.

Q:  How many kiddos do you have?  Give us a little glimpse into who they are.

A:  We have three little girls. Our oldest Ashlyn (10) is a planner; she loves to be on the go and always wants to know what’s happening next. She is athletic and loves playing basketball and soccer.  Madison (8) is strong willed, spunky and always keeps us laughing. She loves gymnastics, every day after school she changes into a leotard to practice.  Savanah (6) is our little love bug, she has such a big heart and passes out more hugs a day than I can count. She has a big imagination and is very creative. She also loves ballet and is always twirling around the house.

Q:  How long have you been with Matilda Jane and when did you know you wanted to be a Trunk Keeper?

A: This is my first season as a Trunk Keeper. I bought my first piece of Matilda Jane when my friend hosted a Trunk Show for the Gypsy Blue Collection. We were hooked after that and continued shopping each season. Our area didn’t have a Trunk Keeper though so our TK Sara would drive from Fort Wayne to do our shows. Last summer I finally mentioned to Sara that I would love to become a Trunk Keeper and here I am!

Q:  What do you think is the greatest invention of all time?

A: The coffee maker

Q:  What special talent do you wish you possessed?

A: I wish I could play the piano. My husband plays and it’s so peaceful and calming.

Q:  Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?

A:  My parents. I do not think I could have been blessed with a better set of parents.  They have taught me so much about loving and honoring God, working hard, loving and helping others, and their example of a strong marriage is a blessing. Also, my husband. He goes for his dreams and supports mine. He always has a positive outlook despite circumstances.

Q:  If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would that be and where would you go?

A:  Kate Middleton. I’m not sure where we would go but we would wear hats. 😉 Wouldn’t that be fun?

Q:  What is your favorite time of day and why?

A:  My husband is a police officer and works afternoons, I’m always so thankful when he walks through the door.

Q:  What is your favorite family tradition?

A:  We are huge on traditions, my parents always were too and I have the best memories. I think one of our favorite things is always our annual trip to the pumpkin patch, the girls look forward to it every year.

Q:  Which TV family is most like your own?

A:  I’m really not sure. I feel like Disney is the only channel we watch. I know my girls would love for me to say “The Duncan’s” from Good Luck Charlie. HaHa!

Q:  Are you a country mouse or city mouse?

A: My husband would love for me to say country mouse. I do love the idea of living in the country but I need to be close to a grocery store! I feel like I’m always forgetting something we need.

Q:  Good Hart is such a special place to Denise.  What town holds a special place in your heart?

A:  Clearwater Beach, FL. We love going to the beach for vacation and I visited different places growing up. One year my family and my husband’s family went to Clearwater Beach together. My husband proposed while we were there so it will always hold a special place in my heart.
