Suzie Glassman of Castle Rock, CO
Q: Hi Suzie! Tell us a little bit about YOU.
A: I’m originally from a city just southwest of Houston – Missouri City, TX. Since college in Fort Worth, I’ve moved many places but have spent the last three years in Castle Rock. I absolutely love everything about Colorado. It’s an amazing place to raise a family. I have such great friends here too.
Q: How did you meet and fall in love with the man of your dreams?
A: Like everyone – it’s kind of a funny story. We worked for the same company, and I used to give home office tours to the groups of sales reps coming through. He was in one of those groups and says he fell for me then and there. I didn’t remember him, but I later took a job in sales where I backfilled his old territory. We started talking on the phone and later met at a sales conference. We’ve been together ever since!
Q: Babies? You know we’d love to hear about them.
A: I have an almost 4-year old little boy named Jimmy. He is sweet and sensitive and infatuated with super heroes. I love his imagination. He lives in a world without limits. My daughter, Gabby, just turned 2. She does the silliest things. She’s tougher than her big brother and loves dirt! She’s my little dare-devil, and I love her confidence. She really doesn’t let anything stop her! Lord help us when she gets older!
Q: How long have you been with Matilda Jane and when did you know you wanted to be a Trunk Keeper?
A: This is my first season as a trunk keeper. I fell in love with the Heart-Soul-Pride collection and realized that Matilda Jane was just something I needed in my life. It’s about so much more than clothes. I love this whole community!
Q: I have many rituals in my day. How do you like to start out your day?
A: Hmmm. My son yells from the top of his lungs, “Ho, Ho, Ho” every morning around 6 a.m. No joke. it started at Christmas, and he just kept it going. So I can’t help but start my day with a smile or a groan if it’s just too early. Coffee is my life-line.
Q: What is your favorite family tradition?
A: At Christmas, the whole family gets together. The cousins are all around the same age, and I love how excited they are to see each other.
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
A: Lauren Murchison because she is my enrolling Trunk Keeper! Just kidding. Actually, my parents. Having kids of my own, I now realize how hard the job is and how they did an amazing job of helping me become a capable, self-confident, caring person. My husband too. He’s my partner and mentor, and I can’t say enough wonderful things about him.
Q: Which historical figure would you like to meet?
A: That’s a hard question, but I think it would be Steve Jobs. He was brilliant and complicated, and he had a gift for knowing what people wanted before they knew themselves. I’d love a glimpse into his genius.
Q: What is your favorite time of day and why?
A: Evening. When the kids are in bed, and my husband and I get to interact and relax. I love my kids, but I also love that he and I still get to connect as a couple.
Q: What teacher or coach has had the most impact on you and why?
A: I’m not sure. I’m an avid reader, and I love learning. I’ve had great bosses and mentors, but I can’t name one person.
Q: Which TV family is most like your own?
A: I was totally drawing a blank, so I asked my friend. She said Calliou, and she’s so right. Have you seen that cartoon? There’s a four year-old boy and two year-old girl. Calliou can be pretty whiny (who hasn’t been there), but he loves his sister and they have fun as a family.
Q: What is your favorite smell in the whole world?
A: Chocolate chip cookies in the oven.
Q: Where is the coziest spot in your home?
A: The recliner in our living room. My husband never gets to sit in it anymore. It’s so comfy that if I have a spare moment, that’s where you’ll find me.
Q: What is your “must have” Paint by Numbers piece?
A: Walnut and Jasper leggings. I’m in Colorado. Nothing beats a good pair of leggings and boots for the Fall!
