Introducing:
Sara Willis of Bixby, OK
Q: Hi Sara! Tell us a little bit about YOU.
A: I’m an Oklahoma girl! Lived here my whole life, except during college, and I can’t see myself living anywhere else. We are raising our family only a couple miles away from where I was raised and i LOVE that!
Q: How did you meet and fall in love with the man of your dreams?
A: Casey and I met at College. We both attended Evangel University in Springfield, MO. He is from Alabama and attended Evangel while playing football and I was there on a volleyball scholarship. We actually had a class together my freshman year and sat right next to each other, but he never talked to me because he said I always got in trouble for taking in class..haha My last year of school we started talking and hanging out. One thing lead to another and 3 years later he was proposing in Colorado on the side of a mountain!!! Now, three kiddos later I could not be happier 🙂
Q: Bebes? You know we’d love to hear about them.
A: I have three kiddos. Tristan, our oldest, is 4 and the sweetest little boy ever! He is definitely a momma’s boy and always looking after me. He is all boy though, playing football, and being outside is probably his favorite things. Kinlei our second is 2 and a little firecracker!! She is ALL girl. Carrying her babies everywhere, telling me all kinds of stories and wanting EVERY piece of clothing on my rack..ha Our little Addison is 7 months old and she is a great mixture of both the kiddos. I would say her favorite thing is having her brother and sister talk to her, she just lights up!!! I can’t wait till she is old enough to start playing with her sister. My sister is my best friend and I can just imagine the adventures they will go on together.
Q: How long have you been with Matilda Jane and when did you know you wanted to be a Trunk Keeper?
A: Paint By Numbers is my 1st season!! I pretty much knew I wanted to be a trunk keeper from the first show I attended. I would go to shows where I knew no one just to look at the new lines. I found myself becoming obsessed with the clothes and constantly looking on the website and talking with friends about how cute everything is. I knew this would be something I could be truly passionate about and something I would really enjoy doing. Now a year later, here i am a Matilda Jane Trunk Keeper!!!
Q: I have many rituals in my day. How do you like to start out your day?
A: I like to get up early enough to give myself about 30 minutes of ME time before I start my day! Just relax and think about all the things I need to conquer that day. I would love to say I get up every morning and run a couple miles, but I guess that is just in my dreams..ha
Q: What is your favorite family tradition?
A: Christmas!!! This is most definitely my favorite time of year. We have all sort of traditions for Christmas. We decorate the tree the day after Thanksgiving ( sometimes a little earlier 🙂 ) I wrap 25 christmas books for the kids to open every night during the month of December and we all sit down and read a book before bed. Buddy the Elf makes his appearance and I must say my husband and I have just as much fun hiding buddy as the kids do finding him. Just spending time with my family is the best family tradition!!
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
A: My parents!! My dad is the kindest, smartest, most generous person I know. He would do anything for anyone and always sees the best in everyone. He is definitely my HERO and someone I love with all my heart. My mom is the most outgoing, passionate and artistic person I know. I wish that I had half of her super outgoing personality. She could have 10 things going on in a day and would drop them all if you needed her and I LOVE that about her. I am one blessed child with these two amazing parents!
Q: Which historical figure would you like to meet?
A: Elvis Presley!! I mean who would not want to meet Elvis 🙂
Q: What is your favorite time of day and why?
A: The evening when its quiet and my husband and I can actually carry on a full conversation without being interrupted.
Q: What teacher or coach has had the most impact on you and why?
A: My 1st grade teacher Mrs. Zimmerman. I had cancer when I was little and missed almost all of my 1st grade year. She was always going the extra mile to make sure I never fell behind. She even moved from 1st grade to 2nd grade, so she could have me again to help with all the things I missed. I owe her so much. Thanks Mrs. Zimmerman you will always have a very special place in my heart.
Q: Which TV family is most like your own?
A: The Taylor’s from Friday Night Lights. My husband is a coach so during football season our lives revolve around football. I would not change it for the world though 🙂
Q: What is your favorite smell in the whole world?
A: Cinnamon!!! It reminds me of family and Christmas. My two favorite things.
Q: Where is the coziest spot in your home?
A: The couch holding my babies when they are newborns!!
Q: What is your “must have” Paint by Numbers piece?
A: Lemongrass Bennys! I feel like they go with so much and I love the colors. They are the perfect transition piece to go with your summer then Fall wardrobe. Now, if you would ask my 2 year old daughter she would pick the American Beauty Dress with the Barnyard Shorties..haha She loves that they match and wants to wear them all the time.
Beautiful family, beautiful photos, and what a beautiful new Trunk Keeper, inside and out! Honored to call you my friend, Sara! 🙂
