Giver and Givings

…and our winners of the $150 Matilda Jane Gift Card and their favorite item of release one (launching February 1) are…..

blogYup, we hung the Matilda Jane sign. Looked at it. The “clothing” had to go, hung or not. Needless to say, I am very picky and even if the men hanging the sign were not happy, it had to come down and be perfected. I’m certain we bought them lunch or something 🙂

I think it’s about time to admit it…I have an addiction. And I can’t stop. I can’t walk away. And no one can restrain me. I love cute stuff and that may be a problem. I can’t stop buying it. I have every excuse in the book to rationalize why I need it. After talking over this problem with Sam, we have decided I should just become a professional gift giver. If I were to take the Career Assessment Test I am 100% certain my results would fall into the cute and giving category. Hands down. Sam just said, “Don’t scare everyone into thinking you are leaving Matilda Jane to be a Gift Giver!” No fear, I’m still here! I think I can handle both.

And I also seriously think we should have a Matilda Jane store in Tokyo. Oh my goodness!!! If you saw (and sorry I forgot to take a photo!) all the cuteness spilled out across this city, my hotel bed, the hotel tables, my luggage, etc, you’d see why. Matilda Jane works so well with all this sweet Sanrio cuteness. I think they are made for each other. It’s like we are made for each other. Man, I love Japan cuteness.

ablogSo grab your coat and grab your hat, leave your worries on the doorstep…..on the sunny side of the street.  And how about while you are at it you search for…… umm…15 minutes later….aghhh…i don’t know! Let’s make it easy on you tonight (and me). How about you post one photo of something or someone on Facebook that reminds you of Matilda Jane and tell us why. Double your luck by leaving us a comment telling us why also. And to thank you all for the pleasure we get from reading these wonderful comments we’ll pick one of you, JUST ONE, to win the ENTIRE FIRST RELEASE of It’s A Wonderful Parade: Parade Day.

Well, I’m off to bed. I’ll be looking forward to seeing your photos and reading your notes. It will make our plane ride tomorrow a little more exciting!

And for you 3 winners above, please email Lauren at with your information.

Matilda Jane always brings a smile to my face because it reminds me of a child’s innocence, laughter and carefree spirit. The new release is so beautiful, colorful and quirky all at the same time.

Kathy Jo Hoy - January 15, 2014 - 1:39 am

Sept 20, 2010 one year one day after my 48 year old brother Inlaw was called to heaven I was diagnosed with a rare leukemia. I was spending a lot of time in bed and I started buying dresses for my daughter for the future . In my thoughts and dreams I wanted her to dance, twirl, smile and be happy. I wanted to help my husband and make it easy for him to dress her. So I started purchasing MJ dresses in different sizes even larger sizes for the future. I have since started a healing journey both physical and spiritually. It is now 2014 and I am blessed to be able to watch her spin, dance, twirl, laugh & be happy in some of those dresses. I pray I get to watch her to her wedding day and many more after that. Thank you again for sharing your god given gift with us so that we are able to see our daughters experience the joys of life in beautiful colorful clothes.

melissa - January 13, 2014 - 11:44 pm

I posted a pic of a bed hanging in the forest. It has a little swing beside it with a lamp and a book. Its magicaly beautiful!

Colleen Mayhew - January 13, 2014 - 3:12 pm

I posted a pic of the Grand Canyon at sunset. This reminds me of Matilda Jane with all its beautiful, vibrant colors across a backdrop that is just breathtaking and well, GRAND!

Jessica Ballouli - January 13, 2014 - 12:39 am

MJ reminds me of Christmas Eve! The anticipation and excitement of a very special surprise the next morning makes me feel all giddy the night before a release. Lucky for me and my sweet daughter Farrah, this Christmas comes about eight times a year!

Mary Patrick Moorefield - January 12, 2014 - 11:53 pm

My 5 year old daughter was so excited to hear about the opportunity to win the entire first release of It’s A Wonderful Parade and it took a few days to decide on the perfect photo to post on Facebook. But she picked a recent piece of her own artwork from kindergarten which is a beautiful mix of colors with sparkle that reminds her of what she loves most about Matilda Jane Clothing and both make her feel very happy on the inside and out! MJ is the favorite clothing line of all the girls in our family (mother, 5 year old & 2 year old) and the father thinks it’s pretty cute too! So thrilled to have been introduced to your fun, unique company!

Laurie.S - January 12, 2014 - 11:43 pm

A brief synopsis of how I feel about Matilda Jane and what it means to me can be summarized by words of wisdom from none other than Coco Chanel. Coco Chanel once said, ‘If a woman is badly dressed, it’s the dress we’ll notice; but if she is impeccably dressed, it’s the woman herself we’ll notice.’
MJC brings out the ‘Woman’ in me and the ‘Girl’ in my darling daughters in your impeccable clothing. Shine on!!

Jennifer B - January 12, 2014 - 8:36 pm

“You are my sunshine”! When skies are gray (and even when they are not) “Mary Jane” dresses as she calls them brighten our days. It’s true what you say about “who doesn’t love a compliment” and Matilda Jane brings out the personality in our daughters and makes them smile. I’ve had a hard time with my best friend’s car accident and brain injury and learning about Matilda Jane at about the same time has given my daughter and I many smiles. Thankful!

Andrea McAnally - January 12, 2014 - 5:07 pm

Twirling reminds me of MJ – sounds weird, right?!?! But when I was little I loved to twirl in pretty dresses and seeing adorable, little carefree girls twirling away makes me think of MJ. Age appropriate, whimsical, joyful twirling 🙂

Heather Lawley - January 11, 2014 - 10:13 pm

Hearing my little girl laugh reminds me of MJ!!! We just got started with this addiction of adorable clothing and everything about it makes me smile. So when I hear her laugh or giggle, I automatically envision her big smile in her precious clothes!!!

Kristin - January 11, 2014 - 8:25 pm

My little girl who is missing her 2 front teeth and looks so sweet and little, yet the big tooth is ready and waiting to come in and make her whole look change. Just reminds me of MJ.

angelia - January 11, 2014 - 7:00 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of my sweet and sassy, all around beautiful, carefree, girly girl.

Teresa m - January 11, 2014 - 5:54 pm

I just love seeing all the children of all ages with their mjc pieces. They seem to be transformed into another level of childhood innocence. it is so exciting seeing them opening to the world ahead of them with so much excitement. I will so miss that from my little one when when she can no longer wear mjc. Who would have thought a piece of clothing would give a mother another level of joy with her child. we love all the ones that bring us mjc. It doesn’t seem to matter for a particular setting when mjc is around everything has given so many a new purpose.

Rya Hibbard - January 11, 2014 - 4:59 pm

Digging through my grandmothers treasures she brought over from Paris when she came to live in the US as a little girl…..the patterns from her timeless pieces of clothing remind me of MJC’s style…your ability to keep the innocence in dressing our young girls, especially in this generation.

Mel - January 11, 2014 - 4:23 pm

It’s JOY! Pure…..full of life….JOY! That’s it!

Ky Pyke - January 11, 2014 - 4:21 pm

What Matilda Jane means to me…It means that finding modest, unique, adorable, fun, and age appropriate clothing doesn’t have to be a challenge. Today’s disturbing clothing lines are pushing the limits. I’m sure I can speak for most mom’s when I say, we are offended… by the types of clothing we see in the stores and malls. Thank you, Denise, Sam, and the whole MJ crew with all of my ღღHeartღღ for giving me a “choice”.

I teach my little girl to be herself and that her choices make her world…

“To sing her own song”.

Daniela Garcia - January 11, 2014 - 4:20 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of numerous things. The fresh robust smell of grounded coffee beans and expressive art sold by an unknown artist selling on the streets of a large city. It reminds me of the coy smile that my daughter lets off as soon as I make a funny face to her. It reminds me of the flea market shopping my mother and my self used to do. It reminds me of all the crafts/repurposing we would do on rainy days. MJ is a bond that can hardly be described by one word.

Adrienne Meckley - January 11, 2014 - 3:32 pm

MJC is cuteness in its honest, unfussiest, most joyful and childlike form!

Kristal Mullins - January 11, 2014 - 1:44 pm

MJ reminds me of my mother who passed away September, 2011. To be more specific it reminds me of the relationship she had with my daugher, Isabelle, who was only three years old when Mom died. You see mom LOVED to buy her granddaughter beautiful clothing. Sadly, neither Mom nor I had discovered MJ when she was living. I discovered MJ and fell in love at the release of Good Hart. I told my TK, Leslie Wills, right then that my mother would have loved to be here to buy these MJ clothes for her granddaugher. The colors, the ruffles, the twirls, the innocence of MJ reminded me of everything about the relationship that my Isabelle and my mother, Betty, shared. They loved to play, laugh, be a little clumsy and goofy and just explore nature together! Paint by Numbers hit me just as hard because it contains all of mom’s favorite colors and with it being a fall release it reminded me of mom’s birthday! I love how beautiful the clothing looks on my daughter. It makes me think of oh how bad I would love to see my mother’s reaction to Isabelle in these beautiful, fun MJ outfits! I think of what fun mom and Isabelle could be having while Isabelle bounces around in her MJ and what kind of fun adventures they could still be having together. I even picture them walking through our field with Isabelle and Mom holding hands and Isabelle in her ruffles or benny’s! To be honest I have a hard time buying MJ financially and I have put my family in a bit of a hard spot more than once! However, I know if Mom were here that is what she would be buying for Isabelle and I don’t want Isabelle to miss out on these awesome clothes and how she feels wearing them just because her nana isn’t here to buy them for her. Thank you for letting me share how MJ reminds me of the beautiful relationship that my daughter and mother had and would continue to have if her nana was still here. Interestingly, mom fought AML Leukemia for 17 months and for her last 5 months was treated at MD Anderson just like Denise. We didn’t know about MD Anderson until mom had already undergone a year of chemo while waiting for a bone marrow match. They were never able to find a match and mom was so weak after that first year but we found out about MD Anderson and mom flew back and forth at her weakest every two weeks for about four months. I just wish we knew about MD Anderson first but hind sight is 20/20. Mom was such a wonderful, Christian woman and a true, hardcore shopper! Thanks again for letting me share.

carolynb19 - January 11, 2014 - 1:42 pm

I love everything about mj. From seeing a girl last night at Bingo and i knew that she would be a good friend to all the joys and smiles it brings to girls and moms and then to read this blog and all its fun and love.

Rachael - January 11, 2014 - 1:34 pm

MJ is childhood happiness. I love the idea of keeping my little girls innocent. The outfits keep the imagination open to new ideas. The patterns are joyful and creative. I’m happy to support such a great, creative and happy company.

Becca - January 11, 2014 - 1:20 pm

My twin two year olds remind me of Matilda Jane and why I began purchasing it, they love all things pretty and all things fancy while also loving all things the outdoors and nature has to offer. Matilda Jane can go to the fanciest party or to a field of wildflowers all on the same day!

Amy Wilcox - January 11, 2014 - 1:13 pm

The smile on my daughters face when she sees her beautiful clothes reminds me of the joy these clothes bring. The joy I have been able to bring to my friends daughters by introducing them to MJ. The giggles my daughter and her best friend share when they are ‘twins’ on the days they dress alike in their matching MJ outfits.

Kristy D - January 11, 2014 - 1:07 pm

My grandmother and her sewing creations remind me of Matilda Jane because she is so creative, fun, and caring. These qualities really comes through in the cute pieces and quilts that she makes just like they do in Matilda Jane clothing. I love it all!

kara payne - January 11, 2014 - 12:36 pm

Matilda Jane makes my 5 yr old feel like a princess every time she wears a piece. Its so much fun to see her face light up as she twirls around!

Melissa T - January 11, 2014 - 11:26 am

Matilda Jane reminds me that Every girl, no matter how you look or where you’re from, deserves to smile. That spreading the love is the most important thing you can do. Keep calm and smile!

Dawn Brown - January 11, 2014 - 11:02 am

In describing what Matilda Jane makes me feel, I am reminded of a wonderful quote by the fabulous poet and artist, Brian Andreas— called “Dress up”.

Dress up
It’s the only time I feel like me, she said, & everyone else just thinks it’s dress-up.

When I see my sweet babies in their MJ, I know it is the time they most truly feel themselves; true to their perfect little nature: joyful, innocent, playful, creative, and beautiful. I believe that Matilda Jane makes little girls (& grown girls, too) really feel like the lovely and liberated creatures they were created to be!

Claire H - January 11, 2014 - 10:48 am

One of my dear friends reminds me of Matilda Jane! She introduced me to the line and the adoration for it. After each release we compare notes, and we often end up ordering the same outfits for our girls! And now she’s a trunk keeper! I love MJ because it allows me to dress my little girls like little girls: innocent, sweet, and adorable!

Melanie Martin - January 11, 2014 - 10:42 am

Watching a child explore the wonders and excitement of the world around them reminds me of Matilda Jane. Every thing that child touches, sees, and experiences is new and special. Matilda Jane clothing is the same. It is as unpredictable as a child and the world around them yet so relevant and exciting.

Conni Young - January 11, 2014 - 10:41 am

My husband’s 105 year old grandmother made original, colorful, incredibly detailed patchwork quilts back in her heyday… Many even won the blue ribbon at the Georgia State Fair. Although we are tempted to store them away to preserve their beauty, they are all over our house… We sleep with them, decorate with them, and they are worn to pieces. In my humble opinion, Matilda Jane sets the standard these days for mixing and matching fabrics. Many attempt to duplicate, but like Granny Vi, Matilda Jane is an original. We are often tempted to save our MJC for special occasions, but instead each piece is worn with love.

Courtney Puhl - January 11, 2014 - 10:34 am

You ladies have a tall task…there are some AMAZING pictures on your wall! You’ve certainly touched a lot of families 🙂

Kink A Jou - January 11, 2014 - 10:21 am

Small beach towns and sunshine. A place for the innocence and laid back style of MJ to shine through. A time and place for kids to just play, and yes, get dirty! Boho chic at its best 🙂

Faith - January 11, 2014 - 10:21 am

Sisterly love. That is what Matilda Jane Clothing is all about to me. Not only in the sense that my girls have each other to love, play, giggle and even sometimes fight with, but also the MJ community that comes together and supports one another. I have met some fantastic ladies through this community. Even online, I see women who have never met pray for each other, give advice to one another, share laughs together. It’s spectacular

Nicole Goforth - January 11, 2014 - 10:07 am

When I think about Matilda Jane the word laughter and love come to my mind. . Matilda Jane has brought so much laughter and giggles to my girls lives. They are always giggling and twirling in their dresses, laughing mixing outfits up and styling themselves like in a fairy tale. It’s truly Magical for them! Love is what all brings it together. The love Denise and the company have for the clothes and the children wearing them the Love all of us moms have for the innocence and beauty it brings to our children!

Holly A - January 11, 2014 - 9:42 am

Matilda Jane reminds me of friends and the special moments shared together. A good friend introduced me to Matilda Jane and now I have introduced it to many friends. The happiness of te moments shared with friends and loved ones is what Matilda Jane means to me!!

M Huggard - January 11, 2014 - 9:41 am

A little girl’s wardrobe without MJ is simply incomplete!

Paola - January 11, 2014 - 9:37 am

I’m reminded of Matilda Jane every time I look around our home at all the pictures on the walls, desks, dressers, etc. Almost all those memorable moments captured in pictures of our daughter in the past 4 years of her life has been with her (and I) wearing a beautiful MJ piece.

Amy Gentry - January 11, 2014 - 9:27 am

To me Matilda Jane means so much. It is hard to narrow it down to just 1 thing. It means family. Happiness with the ones you love. Sweet and timeless memories made that no one can take away. Softness and tenderness. Those delicate moments in life that you will cherish forever

Atalie A. - January 11, 2014 - 9:25 am

This is spectacular!! I love the company and the clothes. We heart MJ!

Karen Boyd - January 11, 2014 - 9:16 am

My daughter reminds me of Matilda Jane- innocent, silly, fun, beautiful and sweet! I posted a pic of her on the facebook page!

Kimberly Elpers - January 11, 2014 - 9:15 am

When I think of Matilda Jane I think of the wonderful quilts my grandmother and great-grandmother made for me. Those quilts began when I was a baby, to a toddler with a quilt”blankie” for my doll, to my wedding day with a beautiful hand-made quilt for our first home. The intricate sewing of all the colorful pieces that are different but yet go together in the same way that your dresses do. A perfect blend of fabrics with the intricate and loving stitching that goes into each one. I still have each and every quilt my grandma and great-grandma made for me and the lovely memories they bring to mind. These dresses are ones that will be well-loved memories of the fun times they had with their Nana as well.

Amy & Willa - January 11, 2014 - 9:04 am

For me, this picture is Matilda Jane. Bright, colorful days. Joyous and full of wonder. Simply sweet. The spirit of childhood captured.

Cassie - January 11, 2014 - 8:54 am

Exploring. Old things, new things and creating things. We were out exploring old trains this fall and I couldn’t help but see Matilda Jane all around me. Imagining the places they had been and the people that enjoyed it.

Rochelle - January 11, 2014 - 8:54 am

My first comment ever on a blog! I love matilda jane for countless reasons! I dress my daughter up everyday…even to just lounge around the house (thanks to laps and pearls)!!!!

Aly Rhodes - January 11, 2014 - 8:36 am

Family pictures remind me of Matilda Jane…especially when the little girls are clad with MJ clothes! I’ve snapped a ton of pictures myself when my girls were wearing their MJ and their clothes ways add to the happiness of the pictures. You clothes are fun and bright and comfortable and they make my girls happy. Thank you for being a part of a clothing line that is cute and appropriate for little girls; clothing that is reliable and I never question. It today’s culture that means the world!

Toni Bloomfield - January 11, 2014 - 8:03 am

Matilda Jane reminds me of twirling. I remember twirling as a little girl. It was so much fun to twirl and twirl until you were do dizzy you fell to the ground in a pile with all of your little girlfriends. And everyone would laugh, buckets of laughter spilled out of each little girl as the sun shined down on them. Later, twirling became a way to become Wonder Woman, or part of a dance routine, but every time I now see my little girl twirl in her fun Matilda Jane clothes I return to my memories of twirling with my girlfriends when I was little.

Kelly h - January 11, 2014 - 7:46 am

Oh this is so exciting and love this request :). Matilda Jane reminds me of my mom, I am a triplet and we are all girls. She started to sew the outfits we wore out of the home since they couldn’t afford much! She is strong, beautiful, inspiring, giving, and lovely soul who I am proud of and look up to.both my daughters also reminds me of mj with their spark for life and the way they can light up a room with there presence!

Carol McCullough - January 11, 2014 - 7:36 am

MJ reminds me of the spunky character from the “Milly Molly Mandy” book. She is a cheerful giver, thoughtful of others, respectful, adventerous, and always wears her favorite pink and white striped “frock” to play with little friend Susan or Billy Blunt.

amanda e - January 11, 2014 - 7:29 am

I have been dressing my daughter in Matilda Jane for a while now and nothing reminds me of Matilda Jane like the first time she opened a package from the mail and saw her MJ satine and said in that completely innocent voice “oh my goodness””its my clothes mommy? For me mommy?” The joy in her face made all the struggles and hardships we have endured all worth it. So nothing unique here but my daughter is my Matilda Jane. ♥

Holly V - January 11, 2014 - 7:21 am

My gosh, where to begin? I remember when I first found you at the Plymouth art fair…I instantly fell in love! I loved the creativity and uniqueness of your clothing. I remember the first thing I purchased and when I came up to pay I said hello to Denise for the first time…not knowing who she was at the time, or how she and MJC would have an impact on my life. As the years have passed I have become so in love with Matilda Jane and who they are. Not only for the clothing, but for the beauty they bring into my life. You inspire me. I see things differently now…I see the little things that can make the biggest difference…I see the smiles and the friendships…I feel the time and love invested in every launch, blog post and event. You have forever touched my life and made me a better person. I thank you for that. To answer your question…I see a little bit of Matilda Jane in everything.
MJC…So much more than clothes <3

Sarah solis - January 11, 2014 - 7:04 am

Matilda jane has changed my view on how I dress my daughter. I always thought I would dress her like a mini adult. And then a friend introduced me to mj. I saw this clothing with beautiful fabrics, ruffle pants, mix and matches. I tried it on my daughter and my heart melted. It suited her personality! It’s playful, soft, darling, innocent, edgy. Now when I dress her in the morning it’s a whole new experience! Once she is dressed I stare at her all day long at how the clothing has made dressing her so much fun. She runs, rolls, twirls and jumps and it always stays looking cute & giving her more character than she already has. I became more of a fan when I read about the founder and companies integrity and generosity. Hooked and in love! Thanks mj and to the fun TK’s that I hope to become !:))

Katie Taylor - January 11, 2014 - 4:00 am

My first glimpse of MJ and I was drawn in by the array of color combinations, the sassy-ness, and unique styles. I imagined my soon to be daughter (adopted from China summer of 2013) twirling around, full of joy because you just can’t help but become giddy as you get a glimpse of the sneak peeks and then the actual launch of the many pieces that so many children will wear with big smiles on their faces….. And then we traveled to China to get her, and although she can’t speak (At age 6 she has never spoken) her face says it all… She to knows the happiness that comes from wearing her very own Matilda Jane piece. There’s just something about it that makes you giddy from the inside out.

Trena N - January 11, 2014 - 3:44 am

I posted a sweet picture of my baby girl with her puppies it reminds me of Matilda Jane…..
“Puppy love, named for it’s resemblance to the adoring, worshipful affection that may be felt by a puppy. Also known as simple infatuation or a crush.” We love Matilda Jane!

Bridget Hansen - January 11, 2014 - 3:41 am

When I think of Matilda Jane I think of my cute girls wearing the darling outfits but I also think of my sweet sisters and mom who took our annual girls trip to the art fair to experience Matilda Jane first hand. Every year we all put in one place we would like to go and then draw where to see where we are headed. So the first year we started doing this my place was drawn. Fort Wayne, Indiana home of the Matilda Jane art fair!! I told my sisters, “You really don’t have to go” but they were good sports and came and enjoyed themselves. They even slept on the streets and pulled an all nighter just so I could get in and shop. We always laugh about how that was one of the greatest trips we have ever been on together. We made great friends and even better memories. I truly love how this company is like one big family. Thanks for making cute clothes and great memories!!

Blanca Clay - January 11, 2014 - 3:22 am

We, my daughter and I, are new to the MJ world and just starting to build her new wardrobe. So, I have to say, seeing how an MJ outfit can make her smile has made me an addict!

Michelle - January 11, 2014 - 2:45 am

We’d love a store here in Tokyo. It would give me another reason to train it in to the city.
I posted a picture of my youngest playing in the mirror with my makeup. Dress up is her favorite thing to do. She revels in her uniqueness, and enjoys life every day.

Brittany van Tol - January 11, 2014 - 2:12 am

My girls smiles remind me of Matilda Jane. They just turned five months old! Time flys I can’t wait to see them smiling in some MJ pretties! They were born ten weeks early Colleen, Irene, and our Angel baby Joleen. We lost Joleen after 19 days and it has been very hard. They were spontaneous triplets and an enormous surprise & blessing to our family! We were trying for a third baby and got 3 instead!!! : ) it gives me hope and a reason to smile when I watch them learning to smile and coo. Just melts my heart. Their smiles are like being wrapped in a hug. Lets me know its okay and I can smile too. I know Joleen is watching us and I will see her again someday with Jesus.

Dalena Ryskoski - January 11, 2014 - 2:03 am

Matilda Jane reminds me of my trip to San Francisco. The beauty of The Painted Ladies, the quirkiness Lombard Street, the fabulousness of Golden Gate Bridge, the peace from a bike ride to Sausalito, the colors found in Chinatown, the fun pulsing through Haight Ashbury, the excitement found at the Fisherman’s Wharf, and a perfect amount of vintage as riding in a cable car. Just thinking of this amazing city makes me want to grab my little, head to toe MJ, hop on a cable car and explore the unexpected magic and whimsy of San Francisco.

Erica S - January 11, 2014 - 1:25 am

Princess Mackie Tay (what my daughter calls herself lately, and I’, the butler while her brother is a handsome prince). She is the epitome of Matilda Jane to me. Although she’s only three, she has the most amazing heart in the world. She tells her brother we don’t hurt animals when she watches him play Minecraft. She asks how we can help the starving children she sees on commercials. She LOVES Matilda Jane. She actually introduces herself as Matilda Jane sometimes. lol. She associates Matilda Jane with making others feel good, lifting them up, and spreading the love. Giving makes her feel good (and especially makes someone else feel good), and THAT is why she makes me think of Matilda Jane. All day she’s been begging me to take her to see her friends at the Children’s hospital so she could take them some of her dress up clothes and “Tilda Jane”. I asked her what we were taking, as we had already taken everything we really had to give. All we had left were the things that she hadn’t grown into. Well, that’s what she wanted to take, and how could I say no to such a sweet thing she wanted to do? We shared some wonderful family time doing something for others who needed a boost, and it really is the most amazing feeling. My little princess wrapped up one of the toughest weeks of my life in one amazing night with her kindness, her spirit and her love. She learned it through example, and you all at Matilda Jane are one of the greatest examples I can share with her. All I can ask for is that she continues to share your kindness, imagination, and giving hearts!

Kelly Ensign - January 11, 2014 - 1:25 am

I LOVE everything about matilda jane and what it stands for. I love the girly girl clothes. After 4 boys it is so fun to dress my daughter up in matilda jane clothes.

Michelle Chontos - January 11, 2014 - 1:24 am

When deciding on the one thing that reminds me of MJ, I focused on the feelings I experience anticipating the arrival of a new collection, viewing the collection for the first time, sharing the wonderful pictures of the pieces with family and friends. Then, the abounding giddiness and joy that accompanies my pieces when they finally arrive in person, and the fun it is to show them off every time they are worn, and not to mention the wonderful memories made wearing them. These emotions associated with everything MJ in a strange way remind me of the birth of a child! From the sneak peaks at ultrasounds, constant dreaming/guessing of what your child will look like, be like, sound like, should be named. Then, the highly anticipated due date. What an amazing experience to meet your child for the firts time, introduce your precious bundle to family, friends, and anyone you meet. Your love and adoration of your perfect gift only strengthens with each day that passes. You go above and beyond caring for your child, trying to cherish every moment. Your joy, wonderful firsts, and experiences together all grow more special and amazing with time. No matter what your situation, that child is beautiful, perfect, unique, special, absolutely and indescribably amazing! I love everything about being a mom! Thank you, Matilda Jane, for being a new part of my celebration and pure enjoyment of life, and everything a girl loves!!!!

The thing that reminds me most of Mj is my daughters smiley and thumbs because she always smiles when I ask if she wants to put on some Mj. She’s only 2.5 and just loves. Her smile is even brighter when I mention the brand.

Lisa Monson - January 11, 2014 - 1:02 am

Mine is simple…
I think back to when I was a little girl, and the story book fairy tales that took place in beautiful English gardens with a cottage and flowers everywhere. Now, I see and feel that innocence in the different pieces that my daughter wears. Not sure how to share the picture, but if I figure it out I will.

Amy Metzger - January 11, 2014 - 1:01 am

There’s so many distractions in life that take away from what really matters. My sweet little ones are such blessings! They remind me to put aside the everyday distractions and just play and join their world! There will always be dishes and laundry to take care of, but my babies will be all grown before I know it! I am always trying to give them everything to thrive, but they always have something to teach me as well! It’s not really about the fancy clothes, it’s about the sweet little human who knows she’s loved and cherished! What’s more important than that?

Ann Armenta - January 11, 2014 - 12:54 am

The sweet innocence of a little girl dressed in PROPER clothing reminds me of Matilda Jane. When I see my sweet baby girl dressed in her MJ it reminds me of how a little girl is supposed to look. Classic, beautiful, fashionable, proper…all wrapped into one <3 I'm a young mom but as I get older I see little girls all around me dressed…well…not so little. And it makes me sad because it looks/seems that part of their adorable innocent way is cut short cause they're trying to dress like the pop stars they see in the media. So thank you for keeping our girls looking sweet just like they should be 🙂

Bella Claire - January 11, 2014 - 12:53 am

Matilda jane to me is individuality to the 10th power….it’s landing on the moon for the first time…’s not allowing yourself to sit on the back on the bus because those are the rules…’s running faster than a boy…..being so outside the box that you can’t see it anymore……it’s unconventional because you can….it’s a language created between 2 best friends that only they can understand……it’s being brave enough to swing from the tree rope and it’s holding your mothers hand. It’s all things free and wild and youthful.

Kristy G - January 11, 2014 - 12:43 am

As cliche as it is, my daughter Abby is my reminder of Matilda Jane. She embodies the spirit of unpredictability, and whimsy, paired with compassion, and a desire to help others. I love watching her smile as she twirls and spins, knowing she is on top of the world, and feeling beautiful.

Amber Hill - January 11, 2014 - 12:42 am

The thing that reminds me most about Matilda Jane is my daughters smile. The way her face lights up when she puts on the new dress or outfit. The why she stares at herself in the mirror and I know that in that moment she feels beautiful. I know there will be times in her life when she doesn’t feel that way and when people will be mean and not treat her like she is beautiful but for that time when she is looking at herself in the mirror smiling I know she feels it and knows it.

Adriana Stoltz - January 11, 2014 - 12:39 am

MJ reminds me of my daughter, and every wish I ever had for her. I pray she’ll always give away smiles, exhude confidence and love her family. The innocence and happiness your community shares is unlike any other. And the cuteness of your designs always makes us feel comfortable and giddy. The whole MJ essence is something I hope to carry on through her life.. I’ll teach her to love others, to explore, to be creative, to be tough, to be a warrior, to be young. I hope MJ will be there through it all.

Lara kisich - January 11, 2014 - 12:31 am

Matilda Jane reminds me of the sweet feeling of getting to dress your first daughter. (After three years of boys clothes) The details of MJC that made it all so special… The buttons, a knot dress with a pocket, clothes I’ve loved so much I’ve purchased in three sizes so she can keep wearing it.

Alison Witt - January 11, 2014 - 12:24 am

Matilda Jane free spirit and style reminds me of all the beautiful things children love to do wrapped up with a creativity of their imagination. Running and giggling in a beautiful field of flowers, hanging upside down off of a limb of an old tree, putting their toes in the sand and doing twirls on the beach, laying down on a blanket and looking up at the starry sky, playing dress up with friends and mostly just smiling!

Candice Dancer - January 11, 2014 - 12:24 am

My daughter, Chloe is quite an individual–she’s playful, colorful, sassy, sweet, and a hardcore girly-girl (think batting her eyelashes at herself in the mirror and cuddling every change she gets) who loves to run, swing, jump, yell, and get dirty! Here is what I wrote on Facebook, which I’ll post below:

Meet Chloe Lee Dancer. She’s a three year-old firecracker who stands out in a crowd (and not just because she’s loud), a “Hello, all, I’m here!” type of girl. She’s incredibly sweet, randomly and often planting kisses on my, her daddy’s, and her two big brothers’ “cheekies.” Chloe is the kind of girl who falls asleep at night in her sunglasses, wears winter hats, snow boots, and an ellie in the summer, and will make a work of art out of her play pots and pans. She’s something else, my Chloe. And so is Matilda Jane Clothing.

Thanks for the chance to win what I know is going to be an amazing spring line! 🙂

Everytime I see a Candy Store I think of Matilda Jane. I remember as a child(and even now as an adult)when I saw a candy store I wanted to try every kind they had. Matilda Jane does the same thing to me. Everytime there is a new release I want to try just a little bit of everything, which usually turns out to be almost every piece!!!

Jaymie - January 11, 2014 - 12:02 am

It isn’t any secret that MJ is our fave! We are terribly excited for the big reveal!

The woman in the picture is friend with her son and my daughter. I feel such happiness when I look at this simple image!

The first bond is of the mother and child. We love to see our loves grow and play by our sides and to feel that bond strengthen. My daughter happens to do so in MJ 🙂

With Matilda Jane there is the bond with friends! The friends we gather for a trunk show, meet for the first time in MJ groups or at Art Fair and all of the friends we keep forever!

There is the bond that we form with Trunk Keepers and Janes that we come to trust to give us advice and honesty when helping dress our beautiful daughters, granddaughters, nieces and friends.

And finally the bond that we inevitably feel with MJ as a company! It goes beyond the beautiful clothing and you get to know Denise and her family and the all of the “MJ gals” and feel that bond from reading the blog and following the stories of travels, births, sadness, struggles, happiness and ALWAYS hope!

I feel tied to Matilda Jane in so many ways and I am so happy that many bonds have been formed and strengthened in this Wonderful Parade!

Ky Yarborough - January 11, 2014 - 12:00 am

MJ inspires girls to embrace their inner “girliness”, but also spreads a mission of hope to empower girls around the world. I want my daughters to dream big and believe that they can change the world!

Drea Roman - January 10, 2014 - 11:59 pm

Matilda Jane is insperation to me, so any time I see my fabric stash, I think of MJ and wanting to create pretty things!

Britta - January 10, 2014 - 11:43 pm

My little Ellie’s shy coy laughter reminds me matilda jane, when she giggles, she instinctively covers her mouth like the little southern lady she is, and then BAM, she removes her hands and then from behind them is revealed a big take up your whole face smile. Matilda jane is like this because it is sweet, innocent, shy and dainty but also bold and oh so quirky and deliciously adorable.

Lauren - January 10, 2014 - 11:27 pm

I think the answer to this is life. Life in general is full of surprises. We wake up each morning not knowing what the day brings. Oh we may have plans but we never know until we are in the moment. I feel that is what Matilda Jane is. It is an unexpected surprise. It’s a happy, fun, unpredictable brand. Just like life, I can’t wait to see what is in store!

Melina Arrowood - January 10, 2014 - 11:14 pm

I posted a photo on the fb wall, it was an image of a card I received as a random act of kindness, it read, ” This RAK is done in memory of Anne Marie Murphy, she was a momma of four, just like you. She died while sheltering her student, Dylan Hockley, in Newtown. Another nurse on staff has received a gift in his honor. Merry Christmas to you and your bunch of sweet girls.”
I included this comment as to why this reminds me of Matilda Jane.
This photo was taken in December 2012, it is a card I received on a flower bouquet, delivered to me at the hospital where I work. It was sent by someone completely unknown, as a random act of kindness in memory of a brave soul who gave their life protecting another. This photo, capturing this purely altruistic act, reminds me of Matilda Jane. It is kind, random, loving, and simply beautiful. It was meant to do nothing more than make me smile. I will never forget the moment I read this note and the weight it held for me, it changed me, and that’s what MJ does for so many. I love this company and all the things it stands for. It, like this act, is so much more than just beauty, it’s real, and genuine goodness to the core.

MJ reminds of when my bank account started to look very empty…no seriously ha…Matilda Jane reminds me of exactly what your blog was about. GIVING. Between you Denise, your staff, and all the MJ boards it just seems like there is an endless amount of giving. Matilda Jane is truely one of a kind:)

Sarah Long-Bachert - January 10, 2014 - 11:14 pm

Watching my daughter use inspiration and imagination to bring dreams to life, reminds me of Matilda Jane.

Beth McCurdy - January 10, 2014 - 11:09 pm

Of course, my very first reaction was to post a picture of my daughters… after all, what better describes Matilda Jane than free-spirited, one of a kind, joyful girls? Then I thought of this piece of art. From a distance, it looks colorful, whimsical, and happy. But, if you take the time to look closer, you start to notice that is so much more than that. Just like Matilda Jane… from a distance, it looks like adorable clothing. But, if you take just a little step closer… you discover not only twirls and sprinkles, but also love and joy, strength and determination, compassion and sharing.

Kristi Williamson - January 10, 2014 - 11:04 pm

There is a little candy shop on 30-A in Rosemary Beach that always makes me think MJ. In it is candy that takes me back to my childhood and brings back so many memories. There is also the candy that is very much the candy of today. The candy with fans, that also works as a flashlight, etc.

It is like the clothing..the classic fabrics blended with those that are fun and new. Style that takes me back to when I was little and those that are very much representative of today.

Nicole shipper - January 10, 2014 - 10:55 pm

I posted on Facebook a picture of a beautiful quilt! Matilda Jane is so unique just like quilts each one is different! No handmade quilt is exactly alike just like no piece of Matilda Jane is exactly alike! Vibrant colors, unique patterns, and a fun outfit to wear! Matilda Jane is unlike any other! More than clothing, but a message, that unique can be chic!!! #lovemyMJ

Kristen K. - January 10, 2014 - 10:55 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of the beauty of forged friendships through what some would call just clothes! The parade of hand selected materials that when sewn together create something so very unique and breathtaking. How it can make you gasp for air in awe of its beauty! The way it captures a little girl’s whimsical innocence, a mother’s unconditional love for her daughter and everything twirly, dainty, and perfect about a little girl!

Carolyn O. - January 10, 2014 - 10:53 pm

It is the uniqueness of the clothing that makes it special for so us. It is the beautiful outfits that are unlike every other we see every day. My little one is also the unique one. She is the one who likes to stand out in the crowd. She smiles at the most amazing things that her friends never see. She is going left when everyone else is going right. Matilda Jane is perfect for her. She feels every bit herself when she is in her “Matildy”. She doesn’t need to be the same as everyone else. She is beautiful and unique. 🙂

Stacie Petta - January 10, 2014 - 10:44 pm

Matilda Jane has brought me moments like this! Memories with my daughter, moments to bond, giggle, cuddle, and explore! She was so proud and excited to match me and it made my heart melt to see her face light up! As a mom and photographer I don’t often get in front of the camera. As my girls get older I realize how important moments like this are! To take a step back and just take time to play, use our imagination, get crafty, cuddle, and most of all be a loving family!

Stephanie Page - January 10, 2014 - 10:41 pm

I was introduced to Matilda Jane during You & Me. I love the clothes, the mix and match abilities, the sweetness it adds to my precious daughters. I especially love the giving nature behind Matilda Jane. The donations your company has made, the effort placed in Africa, the love and support to Amber’s family: all of this vibrantly displays the character of David, Denise, Sam, Lynette and everyone else. I love knowing that my money for “clothes” has a much broader impact than my small world. I feel blessed to “know” and support Matilda Jane.

Amanda Turner - January 10, 2014 - 10:28 pm

My curious 2 and 1/2 year old reminds me of Matilda Jane. <3 Matilda Jane captures the innocence of every little girl through the creativity, originality, kindness, and girly, twirly'ness of each design. Matilda Jane is what keeps little girls, our little precious girls. Matilda Jane means friendship and hope. I feel like my daughter is looking out of the world, ready to take on whatever comes her way with class and, most of all, whimsical fun…like a true Matilda Jane girl.

Suzanne Rogers - January 10, 2014 - 10:26 pm

The ocean. Ever changing. New discoveries. Strong foundation. Not only beautiful on the outside, but beautiful inside.

Jessica Lee - January 10, 2014 - 10:26 pm

When my 3 year old twirls in her Matilda Jane dresses, her face lights up in a beautiful smile; she’ll look right at my eyes and into my soul and ask me “Am I pretty, Mama?” As a tear fills my eye, I can’t help but smile back and tell her she’s always beautiful because she’s a daughter of the King. I’m so glad she has beautiful dresses to twirl in. And I’m so glad she has a Savior who delights in her twirls.

Jenny MacNeill - January 10, 2014 - 10:24 pm

Because my girls have personality…totally different just like MJ.

Sarah Gentes - January 10, 2014 - 10:18 pm

My mom reminds me of matilda jane!!! She used to wear bell bottoms well into her adult life and has lots of pictures! Her pants remind me of the ruffle pants from mj! I adore my mom! She is an amazing, wonderful, friendly, caring, smart, mother, daughter, sister, wife, and grandma!!! I would not be the mom to my fun loveing, MJ wearing daughters, without her!!! Thanks for such an awesome giveaway and the chance to win!!! Xoxoxo -Sarah❤️

Traci Walker - January 10, 2014 - 10:13 pm

The thing that most reminds me of Matilda Jane is an ornament that my sister made for me when I was my daughter’s age. Like MJ clothing, the ornament embodies a feeling of simple childhood. The style is timeless, appreciated by most everyone, but still not something you see everywhere. Every time we receive a package of new MJ it is like unwrapping another lovely, vintage piece that my daughter and I both adore and will treasure for years.

Heather Lake - January 10, 2014 - 10:02 pm

My daughters 7th birthday party at Creation Station in Cheboygan, MI…these girls have been together since they were 3 and 4. The Station is all about letting kids express their creativity and imagination and that is just what i imagine you girls are doing your at headquarters! I wish I could post the picture so that you could see just how Matilda Jane like feeling this picture truly is!!!

Kayla Westhouse - January 10, 2014 - 10:01 pm

The phrase “dare to be…” Reminds me of the MJ spirit
I think of Denise’s fight with cancer. Dare to fight
I think of pay it forwards. Dare to be generous
Spread the love. Dare to love
The smiles on girls faces as they dress like GIRLS! Dare to be joyful, young, and free
I think of the creativity that goes into the clothing. Dare to be creative, dare to dream
I think if the mighty acorn foundation. Dare to make a difference, dare to take a stand.
Overall when I think of MJ I think “dare to inspire and make the world a better place”
Thanks for being more than just a clothing company!

Linda V. - January 10, 2014 - 10:00 pm

It’s hard to even imagine life before MJ. To some it’s just clothes. I get that. In it’s core, yes it’s clothes. But I can’t even begin to tell you how much MJ has given me. My daughter loves looking pretty in her “tilda” clothes and she can’t sleep without her “tilda blankey” and this company makes her smile. Which is enough for me. But as a mom it’s even more. It has given me some of my best friends. I can’t imagine my day without a text, an instant message or a picture from my MJ mommas. I love them!!

Cheryl U - January 10, 2014 - 9:53 pm

Some how is reminds me of “home”. The Midwest and my childhood. All the fun and joy I want for my 2 girls. Bright colors, green grass, beautiful lake and skies, “little pink houses”, playing outside, GETTING MUDDY IN A PRETTY LITTLE DRESS!

I’ll post my picture on your Facebook page but your slogan of “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile” of course reminds me of how much my daugher loves Matilda Jane & Annie. She is always smiling when she wears her Matilda Jane clothes (usually the only clothes we can agree on) and when she’d watching Annie. I have a photo of her in one of her Matilda Jane dresses with Sandy after watching a play of Annie. My daughter’s smile always lights up a room just like your clothes do. We love how you put smiles on everyone’s faces and give back to others that need it. 🙂

Leslie L. - January 10, 2014 - 9:35 pm

I could say that everything cute, soft and girly makes me think of Matilda Jane because it truly does! But if I had to think of one word, one item, to describe what Matilda Jane really represents for me, it’s generosity. I have two daughters, ages 7 and almost 16. My youngest being a tom boy so I was late to the fun of Matilda Jane. The thought of boutique clothing and frilly dresses never crossed my mind in nearly 5 years of my little one’s life. I stumbled across Matilda Jane through online friends and naturally, I fell in love with the beautiful clothing. It pulled at my heart strings and I bought a few pieces for my youngest daughter on a whim. You don’t see many little girls in Matilda Jane in my area but when I am asked about the clothing, the person is always going to get an earful about the generosity of your company and how it makes my heart smile. It helps me to remind my daughters that a generous heart is a happy heart and we try to spread that feeling into others’ hearts as often as possible. Last year when there was the idea to host bake sales to raise funds for the children in Africa, my oldest daughter jumped on board as soon as I told her about it. She baked and baked and baked and hosted her own bake sale without any help from us. gen·er·os·i·ty
: the quality of being kind, understanding, and not selfish : the quality of being generous; especially : willingness to give money and other valuable things to others

Thank you for setting a great example for all of us.

Leslee Graves - January 10, 2014 - 9:34 pm

A beautiful butterfly reminds me of Matilda Jane. The clothing starts with the process of an idea, fabrics, love, time and the end result is an amazing creation just like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. We look forward to it every season and know that it will be just as magical as the last time and gets even better. It is whimsical, beautiful and free-spirited like a butterfly and a piece of clothing can be a dress and then turn into a top-similar to a way the butterfly changes.

Cassie W - January 10, 2014 - 9:32 pm

MJC reminds me to be creative! It reminds me to feel confident with the 5 color combos I have my daughter wearing (that she loves!). Also reminds me of a wonderful childhood since one of my closest friends from childhood is my (beyond) fabulous TK!!

P.Connie - January 10, 2014 - 9:28 pm

Thank you for making beautiful clothes for my girls that keep them innocent, sweet and colorful! I adore your clothing and how pretty it makes my girls feel

Matilda Jane reminds me of Neverland – where you never have to grow up and magic always happens!!

Kimberly Bass - January 10, 2014 - 9:15 pm

It is hard to describe the excitement when I see Matilda Jane! I could go on for days and days about it! When I was discovered this line I knew it was over then,I refuse to shop anywhere else! When I dress my little one in it, I can’t stop the smile that comes across my face! So, you can imagine how ecstatic I get when I get to put the mommy clothes on! My first love was the soda pop shorties from the serendipity collection, so I would have to say that reminds me the most of MJ. It’s that pattern that goes with everything and is so darn cute! When I see the sneak peeks photos from “it’s a wonderful parade” I get incredibly happy! Can’t wait to see what this release as we has to offer!

Maureen - January 10, 2014 - 8:58 pm

I have had so much shopping for all of the MJC clothes for my one year old! The clothes are so soft and they fit her cute little personality perfectly!

Valerie - January 10, 2014 - 8:58 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of my three daughters who are all unique and beautiful individuals with sunny dispositions and a hint of drama.

Jessica - January 10, 2014 - 8:56 pm

All little girls remind me of Matilda Jane Clothing! Even when I am on recess duty I find myself imagining all little girls twirling in their MJC dresses, sliding, swinging and smiling. MJC is about innocence, personality and confidence— something all little girls need!

Amanda - January 10, 2014 - 8:55 pm

I just posted on your FB wall – easiest contest entry ever. I posted a picture of my kids on vacation last summer at a train museum. The photo makes me giggle every time, because there are two little words on the back of one of the trains that just make me smile – “Loco, End” My family is about as “Loco” (crazy) as can be, and I certainly see no end to the crazy train in sight! I love that MJC has been a part of our crazy, nutty life for so many years now. Here’s to enjoying life on the crazy train, MJ!

chasity siron - January 10, 2014 - 8:53 pm

We adore it all :)We shared on facebook as well.

Annie W - January 10, 2014 - 8:47 pm

I posted a picture of the colorful sharpies I keep on my teacher desk. I know it sounds weird, but something as simple as my “teacher markers” can brighten my day. The combination of colors is always unique and changing, just like MJ clothes. Every year before school starts, I unpack my school supplies and become excited for the school year ahead – sure to be filled with laughs, discoveries, knowledge, and growth. That is another reason the markers remind me of MJ. I feel like the clothing line helps communicate that every day is an adventure we should cherish and every girl is leading the charge in her own, precious way. MJ has also connected me to new friends who definitely make my life more colorful as well. 🙂

Angelia Good - January 10, 2014 - 8:36 pm

Matilda Jane will remain a cornerstone of hope for me. The hope of a kiss from a sweet faced little one, eager to see you even if just hiding behind a blanket or an umbrella during a game of peek-a-boo. The hope of satisfaction from a chocolate cupcake being chosen from the pile of sweets offered at a picnic. The hope of a loved one or friend being there for you just when you need them. The hope of a new day when your health has finally caught up with your spirit and soul to fight on another day. This picture of my daughter gives me hope that behind every new adventure, hurdle or milestone, there will be a reward. LIFE. Thank you Matilda Jane, this life of ours is full.

Jessica Colley - January 10, 2014 - 8:23 pm

My 2 year old sassy sweetness reminds me of MJ. It matches her spunk!

Tracy V - January 10, 2014 - 8:23 pm

My precious daughter, whom we affectionately nicknamed “Birdie” has a sweet, funny and beautiful nature. She loves “fashion” and considers MJ the epitome of her style. When selecting her outfit, she always puts at least one piece of MJ in! She is beautiful from the inside out and I am so happy we can share a love for MJ that is the style of a sweet, innocent and fashionable “Birdie”!

Audrey - January 10, 2014 - 8:20 pm

A pile of mismatched fabrics remind me of MJ. It’s amazing how pairing pieces together could tell such an amazing story (name that dress) and create such incredible memories. From start (a pile of fabric pieces) to finish (when they’ve outgrown the piece), it’s always a positive experience. I’ve never seen women strain their eyesight, trying to figure out the prints! In the end, isn’t it all about the experiences we encounter in life? Thank you MJ!

Molly Seals - January 10, 2014 - 8:19 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of a hidden treasure. It’s the little things in life that can cause so much joy! I had never heard of Matilda Jane until this past year, and it has officially stolen my heart. From the unique patterns to the blissful colors it is simply irresistible! At first, I was a nervous wreck when my little girl would wear them because I loved them so much I couldn’t stand the thought of stains or tips. ( Needless to say I feared any condiment). After a while, I thought that I was acting crazy. I realized that I had to relax and let her enjoy her time in her precious MJ. She’ll only be little for so long and before too long I won’t be able to pick out her clothes. This company has completely won me over with its little details and uniqueness!

Courtney d - January 10, 2014 - 8:17 pm

My husband’s grandmother was a fabulously classy lady and also very artistic. She drew the cutout dolls for the Boston Globe for many years. The joy she brought to so many little girls each week who would flip to her page to see the new doll and cut it out to play with it is to me the essence of being a little girl. MJ is the true to life version of this fun! Oh to be a little girl dancing around in a twirly dress and some ruffle pants!

CeCe - January 10, 2014 - 8:14 pm

Photographer Duane Michals once said, “Trust that little voice in your head that says, ‘Wouldn’t it be interesting if…’ And then do it.” THAT, to me, is Matilda Jane. Magical designs that stir the imagination. Leadership that strives to serve and give and encourage. A community that’s flourished because of a common love for helping our girls’ beauty and confidence soar. Indeed, wouldn’t it be interesting if . . .

Rebecca Dickerson - January 10, 2014 - 8:09 pm

My daughter giving me a hug and telling me I’m her best friend. Mj is love personified and is reflected in the little girls, like mine, that wear it on a daily basis. I love mj!

Jenn b from Ohio - January 10, 2014 - 8:06 pm

If I had a picture of a long long highway that would be the photo that reminds me of MJ. Because I think MJ is all about”going the extra mile”. I feel like you guys go out of your way to do the right thing in a world where that sentiment has run scarce. I see the extra mile in the details of each piece of clothing. I see the extra mile in the sweet trunk keepers exerting all their energy to get us crazies a pair of adorable shorties. I see its in the friendships that have tied women together. Last but not least, the extra mile all the way across the ocean to sweet children of Africa and their gracious smiles. Thanks to you ladies for friendships forged and for inspiring me and so many others to give back. I know it’s not always perfect but you always shoot for perfect and that’s what counts!!!!!!! That is the spirit of Matilda Jane. <3

Michelle - January 10, 2014 - 8:01 pm

Matilda Jane means a lot of different things to me. First and foremost I’d post a photo of my TK Melissa K. She and the friendship that not only her and I now have but the friendship our 3 year old daughters now have is what it is about. I’ve met so many amazing people and have experienced such beautiful and selfless giving as a result of MJC. MJC is about just that, friendship, the innocence of little girls, and selfless giving.

Kerri - January 10, 2014 - 7:53 pm

Matilda Jane is the innocence, fun-loving, free spirit, artistic and imaginative, playful, sweetness, sassiness, and happiness that every little girl is full with! Whether my daughter or a sweet girl in California or Japan, each girl is full of these beautiful qualities that us adults long to relive and still have. Its what we need to continue to let them be on their lifelong journey. It reminds me of a blank canvas waiting to become art, just like our daughters and their personalities… Matilda Jane is a piece of that beautiful artwork each of our daughters around the world are. <3

ashley - January 10, 2014 - 7:51 pm

My friend Christina reminds me of all the goodness and cheer that Matilda Jane spreads. Her four-year old daughter was diagnosed with a rare and fatal form of cancer several years ago. Christina and her daughter had come to a Hammond Bay trunk show I hosted a few months before her diagnosis. My trunk Keeper and I wrote to you all to tell you Christina and Ava’s story and you so graciously sent the two of them a huge box full of MJ clothing and smiles! Ava wore one of the pieces you sent her to one of her last big outings–she walked on the field at an Atlanta Braves game with a big grin. A few weeks later, she lost her battle with cancer, only days before her fifth birthday. The warmth and fun and smiles you gave the family in those short, dark days between her diagnosis and passing sent them a message of hope and showed me what a truly wonderful heart your company has for others. When I see Christina I think of all that you do to make the world a bit more sunny. Thank you for spreading the love wherever and whenever you can.

Stephanie Burton - January 10, 2014 - 7:28 pm

Stephanie Stepp - January 10, 2014 - 7:27 pm

MJ is magical for me an my daughter! It has defined her look! It makes so happy when Lily wears MJ as we call it at our house.

Something that reminds me of Matilda Jane is when I see parents posting pictures of their little girls dressing themselves in their favorite clothes. Most of the time it is families who do not know about mjc (yet 😉 ) and they are dressed in tutus, capes, bright colors etc. I just think of how much that little girl would love the uniqueness and colorful-ness of Matilda Jane. This ofcourse always prompts me to message the parent and tell them about mjc and my daughters and my love for it 🙂

Tamara Coutu - January 10, 2014 - 7:12 pm

Matilda Jane is all around every time I see a mix of fabrics i think how can I MJ this, whenever my girls put together an unexpected outfit, mixing up prints and fabrics i think MJ, your lines shapes and style is so timeless, girly, feminine and just plain beautiful.

thank-you for the opportunity to share.

Dawn - January 10, 2014 - 7:09 pm

There are so many things that remind me of Matilda Jane. How do you even begin to pin point what those things are or even what Matilda Jane means to me and my little girl. I love the unique clothing, what MJ does for the Orphans and the friendships that are made over one unpredictable clothing company. I am so glad to be apart of this community.

Courtney - January 10, 2014 - 7:08 pm

MJ reminds me of my mother in law. She loved MJ only daughter. She passes away from lung cancer almost 3 years ago, but there have been so many new pieces I know she would love, so of course I have to buy them! She was sunshine and butterflies!

Faith Davis - January 10, 2014 - 7:02 pm

Just posted on FB! Fun stuff!

Erin - January 10, 2014 - 7:00 pm

My 2 year old daughter reminds me of MJ.. She has the most creative and original personality! She loves to sing and spin in her MJ dress!

Kellie Warren - January 10, 2014 - 6:58 pm

Girlhood! My picture is one of my girls laughing. Whether 4 or 40, Matilda Jane reminds me of the joys of being a girl .. a beautiful, smart, fun-loving girl.

Ashley Aumick - January 10, 2014 - 6:53 pm

My daughter reminds me of Matilda Jane, especially when she lets a big belly laugh or grin, the clothes just fit her personality to a t and I can tell she loves them more and more, the older she gets. She loves picking out her outfit everyday and twirling for her Daddy to see. It’s so much more than clothes!

Susan y - January 10, 2014 - 6:50 pm

My daughter…A tomboy girly girl who looks so good dolled up or dressed with a hint of hippie. And coming from my daughter ” I love the soft pants (trudys)” WE LOVE MJ!

Steffanie - January 10, 2014 - 6:39 pm

Whenever I see Matilda Jane I think of all the wonderful new friends I have made in the past year! I have been buying for a year and this is the best group of friends!! I’m thankful to Matilda Jane for all these lovely ladies

Julie K - January 10, 2014 - 6:35 pm

Love, love, love all the giving… even if I don’t win, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!

Jessica - January 10, 2014 - 6:33 pm

I posted a sweet photo of my daughter and I making a wish on a dandelion puff. The innocence of that, the wonder of her chasing them around the field, is what reminds me of Matilda Jane.

Ashley tucker - January 10, 2014 - 6:30 pm

MJC to my family represents carefree and sweet fun. My daughter, at 14 months, embodies what it is to be a MJ girl. Sweet, loving, and completely original. We have met so many amazing ladies through our shared love of your clothing and for that I would like to say thank you. It’s about more than the clothes.

There’s a type of hazy, daydream-like light that is created by sun flare in photography. To me, it enhances the sense of wonder, innocence, and purity of what you see. It’s a small detail of a bigger picture that is quite magical. And that’s one thing that I love that reminds me of Matilda Jane.

Kimberly Collazo - January 10, 2014 - 6:18 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of the two photographers we have been luck enough to work with. One was through the program Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep – for our daughter that lived for just 5 weeks with brittle bone disease. The second, who introduced us to Matilda Jane has a wide variety of clothes that we used with our second daughter on separate photo shoots with her. These two ladies captured our daughters’ innocence and we treasure the photos they have taken for us of our girls (I love how the bright colors accent our daughter’s blond curly afro and cannot help but wonder what our sweet angel would have looked like in some of the amazing outfits with her dark hair and dark features)

wendy pasqua - January 10, 2014 - 6:16 pm

MJ-is a lifestyle that embodies playing under the pines,
those who dance in the snow, and float on a cloud and sing the songs of innocence OooOOoooo

Courtney - January 10, 2014 - 6:16 pm

I love how Matilda Jane keeps little girls looking like little girls. These clothes are fun and cheery and the room lights up even more when she walks in <3 <3

Vanessa Bullock - January 10, 2014 - 6:14 pm

My daughter Emma reminds me of Matilda Jane. Her smile, her funky dances, her big ole laugh. Her twirling and climbing, and drawing. Even the occasional tear two that spill onto her pink cheeks so tenderly, so quietly. She is the personification of Matilda Jane… and maybe just maybe, that’s why I love them so.

Beth M - January 10, 2014 - 6:06 pm

My two daughters remind me of MJ. They are each so unique. They are compassionate and loving and they fill me with joy every day. They constantly surprise me… sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always with good intentions.

Kirsten Hage - January 10, 2014 - 6:00 pm

My girlfriend who got me hooked on MJ Tara.

Megan B - January 10, 2014 - 6:00 pm

There are many things that I see all the time that remind me if Matilda Jane. But the first one that came to my mind is the Early Childhood/ Kindergarten area of school, where every single wall, door and even a cabinet are painted by Denise. She is so unbelievably talented and creative! I think of how much Matilda Jane has grown and how much I love seeing my daughter in the beautiful clothes. I’m also proud to buy from a company that is as giving as Matilda Jane.

Natalie Mitchell - January 10, 2014 - 5:51 pm

I posted a pic on fb of a mom laughing and enjoying her daughter…no cell phone in sight! Being fully present in the little moments we have with our children reminds me of your clothing. We are so incredibly blessed to bear the title, “mom” and to witness the wonder and creativity of our children. Often times, the work of being a mom clouds this appreciation but your clothing captures the whimsical spirit of childhood. Your clothing embodies a childhood full of wonder, creativeness, and beauty.

Amanda Tharp - January 10, 2014 - 5:51 pm

Matilda Jane represents the innocence of childhood. When a child wears MJ, they twirl, giggle, smile, and feel confident. The world is complicated but a smile is universal. To me, it represents togetherness, friendship, peace, and love. All the things a childhood should encompass….

Natalie Cadle - January 10, 2014 - 5:47 pm

Disney World! Because we are planning our first trip for the kids and I am so excited and that is how I feel about Matilda Jane and release days and sales and dressing my daughter each day 🙂

Katie Weimer - January 10, 2014 - 5:46 pm

She is clothed in strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future. Proverbs 31:25 This verse makes me think of what MJC wants for there little girls.

Heather Weichbrodt - January 10, 2014 - 5:39 pm

Matilda Jane will always be my dream come true. Cheesey? Read on…..
When I found out we’d never have children in the traditional way I had so many nights laying in bed, crying, and envisioning my future baby. I knew her name would be Eloise, and I had no clue what MJ even was, but I KNEW she wouldn’t wear “typical” kid clothes. She’d be unique and BRIGHT! Full of joy and love! Those dreams got me through a long journey, and ups and downs, and now our Eloise is here and she’s a MJCgirl! She is JOY and LOVE and MJ is the pretty wrapping on our perfect gift!
Oh yeah, and reality is even better than my dream, since Eloise came with a bonus gift! Her twin brother, Milo who is our very best Good One and the finishing touch of our little family.
So, thank you, MJ for helping my dreams become reality<3

Wendy Staat - January 10, 2014 - 5:33 pm

Matilda jane is my happy place. When I’m sad, or feeling overwhelmed, MJ makes me smile… Looking at my daughter wearing it brings an immediate smile!!thank you for moments of happiness.

Jamie M - January 10, 2014 - 5:32 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of planning my daughter’s nursery. I had never even heard of MJ yet when I did it, but I knew I wanted to use different patterns using a certain color scheme (aqua and purple). I wanted to make as much of it myself as I could (with a toddler running around) such as the bunting, wall prints, chair cover, etc. I wanted it to be sweet and adorable but also something that can grow with her. That’s why Matilda Jane and I are a good match too! 🙂 I’ll get a picture of her room to the FB wall!

Karisa - January 10, 2014 - 5:05 pm

A tea party! MJC reminds me of a little girl hosting a tea party for her imaginary friends, dolls and stuffed animals. Every little girl’s tea party is unique but they are all tied together by the innocence of youth and whimsy of innovation and imagination. When I think of MJC and I see the ruffles and buttons and patterns, I think of a tea party!

Deanna Hite - January 10, 2014 - 5:05 pm

I think of a county fair. All the bright colors patterns and themes all come together and make a fun time just like when you wear your MJ it just all comes together and equals fun! Thank you for the opportunity 🙂

Erica Birchall - January 10, 2014 - 5:00 pm

MJ reminds me of the bright lights I would see as we were pulling up to the fair as a child. I’m not suggesting that MJ is gawdy like those fluorescent Ferris wheel lights, but I can’t lie and say that I don’t get giddy with excitement over the release of a new line or the shipment of a new order just like I did when arriving at the fair and seeing the Tilt-A-Whirl flashing brightly and spinning around and around! (Speaking of Tilt-a-Whirl, that sounds like a name to consider for a future release, hahaha). Love you guys! Matilda Jane rocks!

Laura Leigh R - January 10, 2014 - 5:00 pm

I think the first bright blooming flowers in spring remind me of all that is Matilda Jane. The colors are alway so vibrant and bold and there is nothing like welcoming all that is new in spring after a long cold winter! I think Matilda Jane captures those emotions perfectly in their clothing 🙂

K's Mama - January 10, 2014 - 4:55 pm

Wind… I know you can’t actually see it or take a picture of it but it what reminds me of MJ. It’s carefree & beautiful & it can also be dangerous (just like MJ can be to our wallets 😉 )
Who doesn’t love the feel of a gentle breeze on their face, the sound of the wind rustling the leaves in the trees or how the wind seems to make the snowflakes dance as they fall. There is just so much beauty in the wind. It’s a free spirit like MJ and our precious little girls.

Melissa wood - January 10, 2014 - 4:42 pm

435… Even if you have moved from that building, no matter if it is on the clock, a mailbox, an address, the side of a building… All I can think about is Matilda Jane, art fair, good company, all-nighter’s, giving nature, and excitement. I honestly don’t know what I would have put my girls in had I not been introduced to this company. Almost every picture on the wall, on my phone, and on my Facebook has some item of mj on it. We ❤❤❤ MJC!

Magen - January 10, 2014 - 4:27 pm

My daughter Rayne is extremely free spirited! She doesn’t follow the crowd and does her own thing! She is sweet, sassy, artsy, and just fun! Matilda Jane fits her personality to a T!

Krystle Joyner - January 10, 2014 - 4:17 pm

Parties- most any kind of fun party makes me think of Matilda Jane. Not only because I tend to dress my sweet daughter up in multiple layers of Matilda Jane for parties, but also because parties are fun, colorful, and make you smile. Just like your favorite MJ outfit on your favorite little girl!

Erin W - January 10, 2014 - 4:00 pm

there’s nothing sweeter than the sound of my daughters giggling together – it’s friendship, it’s love, it’s girly, it’s timeless, it’s priceless, it’s joy… it’s MJ summed up in the greatest sound on earth.

Janelle McElhoe - January 10, 2014 - 3:59 pm

My three daughters and I lie MJC so much!! It captures the essence of childhood in the perfect way <3 so insanely happy we found this lifestyle!!!

pamela r. - January 10, 2014 - 3:58 pm

I shared my favorite picture of Miss Paisley on your facebook page and I will comment here too. Matilda Jane Clothing represents my little girl in so many wonderful ways- it represents that every child should have the right to a carefree childhood- whether here or half way around the world. I love the the companies strives to do just that- give children the chance to be a child and for some moments in their childhood feel what it is to be carefree to be all that they should be.

Anne Embry - January 10, 2014 - 3:56 pm

My photo is of my daughter wearing her Loretta flutter, pink aviator sunglasses, and sipping on her lemonade. To me, MJC is about living in the moment that is NOW. Her spunky attitude reminds me to do this on a daily basis 🙂

Kelly Ramsey - January 10, 2014 - 3:55 pm

My almost 9 year old daughter, Chandler. Even when she was little she always danced to the beat of her own drum. Her style is whatever she is in the mood for, and loves to enjoy life. I love her more than she will ever know and I love seeing her with confidence in her MJC.

Renee - January 10, 2014 - 3:54 pm

You know those friends who you have had for *forever* but for whatever reason, you only get together once every year or two? And when you get together, you pick right back up despite an eon filled with changing diapers, moving house, new job, grocery shopping… ?
That’s how I feel about Matilda Jane.
Since the art fairs in Plymouth ages ago, I feel like I’ve known MJC for *forever* and if I go a season or two between trunk shows, or blog visits, or platinum orders, I can stop by and catch right back up. And those are the kind of friends I’m most thankful for.

Denise T - January 10, 2014 - 3:49 pm

I think I am reminded of Matilda Jane in the innocence and rapid changing minds of children, my daughter included. Things sometimes feel like they are going in every direction, but in a good way if that makes sense? That there are so many cute and memorable details in life with a child that you wish you could put all that eagerness and enthusiasm for their little lives into a fabric!

Carlene Lacy - January 10, 2014 - 3:48 pm

Alison Davis-Gee - January 10, 2014 - 3:47 pm

Matilda Jane is an outward expression of how my daughter and ever child should be. Colorful, playful, imaginative, free-spirited…. oh the list could go on and on. Somehow, MJ has captured all these intangible childlike qualities and brought them to life. Thank you for keeping that spirit alive.

kara Dawson - January 10, 2014 - 3:45 pm

Little girls together, smiling and playing in cute fashion is a highlight and reminds me of the beautiful clothes that you make. Fun in paradise. My girls love every time of mj they wear!

Chelsie Goodman - January 10, 2014 - 3:41 pm

My precious twin daughters’ playroom reminds me of Matilda Jane. It’s got all the essential components of a good time and a big smile. It’s got functionality because I know my girls can spend at least twenty minutes in there and give Mama (with a watchful eye, of course) time to change into pajamas, throw a load of clothes on, etc. The playroom shouts FUN with its pink play kitchen, paisley table for tea, and cream-colored dollhouse for my imaginative minds. That playroom represents sweet innocence and eclectic tastes. Lastly, it represents everything my girls can dream. It seems like Matilda Jane is certainly a playroom!

Lani Ozuna Becker - January 10, 2014 - 3:35 pm

My Anabelle, my fireball; the love of my life! Since the day she blessed her father, brother, and I with her presence she had brought more color to our lives, made the air sweeter, and has given us more joy than we ever thought possible! She encompasses everything that is sweet, innocent, and spunky in one tiny package. That is what Matilda Jane is to us; it’s a breath of fresh air in a world of monotony with beautiful colors and designs that make the sweet little people who wear it that much sweeter! It can be summed up with my favorite quote from William Shakespeare, “Though she be but little, she is fierce!” Thank you so much for helping to make our lives that much brighter Denise and staff!

Alexa - January 10, 2014 - 3:31 pm

first time I know Mjc was from my neighbour. And the clothes are really amazing beautiful. Every detail and design you guys made really unique. and I deeply ln love with everything Mjc do for us the customer. Thank you matilda jane clothing!!

Michelle clouse - January 10, 2014 - 3:31 pm

When I think of matilda. Jane I think of innocence and joy. My two kids remind me of these things everyday.

Jamie Hicks - January 10, 2014 - 3:31 pm

Matilda Jane will always remind me of my middle child Ady. She was a baby when I discovered MJ, came with me to the very first Art Fair, and her personality and rambunctious ADYtude with such a unique spirit are seen in each MJ outfit she puts together. She has the kindest heart with a lil’ streak of trouble in her smile and MJ just suits her perfectly.

Robin English - January 10, 2014 - 3:27 pm

When I first introduce my mother-in-law to Matilda Jane she told me that the dresses reminded her of her feed sack patchwork clothes growing up in the country. In my mind when I see open fields of wildflowers in the country or chickens… I think of Matilda Jane.

Mama Hope - January 10, 2014 - 3:27 pm

Clarification on my earlier comment! I just read the contest to a friend of mine and realized I totally misread it the first time. It was leave a picture and a comment describing it doubled your chances. I put a totally different comment here than what I posted on your FB page! And I totally decided to submit a different photo than what I described here! Color me excited and disregard the previous post! Although the PIF, Spread the Love, and Kayla comments are all true!!

Kate Marlowe - January 10, 2014 - 3:27 pm

MJC reminds me of long summer nights and bright shining days. Each clothing line takes me to the first lemonade of the season. To little girls who may all be wearing the same dress from the same line, but somehow, MJC lets them and encourages them to be unique unto themselves. Sweet adventures, little helpers, big personalities, and pudgy little hands are MJC to me.

Alyson - January 10, 2014 - 3:22 pm

I love the whimsicality of Matilda Jane – the perfect fit for my granddaughter’s impish personality.

Cheri - January 10, 2014 - 3:19 pm

The picture I shared is of my daughter, because her adorableness and spunkiness personify Matilda Jane to me. She makes me smile every time I see her (even on the difficult days), and so does Matilda Jane!

Missy Jungling - January 10, 2014 - 3:09 pm

The clothes are AMAZING, the friendships I’ve formed are LASTING, the memories of my daughter in Matilda Jane are FOREVER, the “heart” of Matilda Jane Clothing is POWERFUL. There are a million and one ways I am reminded of Matilda Jane daily. It is part of my life…not “just clothes”.

Amy T - January 10, 2014 - 3:05 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of the outfits my daughters pick out when I let them just have fun dressing up. Their outfits always have a variety of colors, prints, and materials, just like Matilda Jane.

Evan - January 10, 2014 - 3:01 pm

Any silly and carefree moment I share with my daughter reminds me of the way I feel when I see her in a MJ outfit. Thanks!

Hannah Edwards - January 10, 2014 - 2:59 pm

Wonderment: the feeling we had when a baby we waited 3 years for finally arrives. And the feeling my daughter and I get when each new MJ line comes out. And the feeling we get when we open those beautiful mesh bags filled with imagination!

Amanda L - January 10, 2014 - 2:58 pm

Matilda Jane === Amazing designs, unique patterns & beautiful colors which reminds me of children in general! Each is unique in their own way & beyond beautiful!!!

Katherine Slaugh - January 10, 2014 - 2:50 pm

This may be a repeat, but … I think of a meadow of wildflowers. Wild, carefree, absolutely stunning as a whole, and when you look closely everything is individually unique and beautiful!

Jessica Johnston - January 10, 2014 - 2:47 pm

Every time I see a button, I think of Matilda Jane. The fun and funky buttons are some of my favorite things about your clothing. They are so unique and eclectic and unlike any others!

Michelle@DomesticPoetry - January 10, 2014 - 2:45 pm

Our 6 yo Charlotte Anne, her name means “Strong woman of grace and favor”. I looked up the meaning of Matilda Jane and found that it means “Mighty in battle, Gods gracious gift”. We had no idea when we held her as a tiny babe how much she’d live up to her name. Test it. It’s proven true over and over as she’s walked through difficulty, we always know she’s going to be okay. Just like Matilda Jane her spunk, love for life, joy and kindness see her through and inspire others. ️

Claire Groom - January 10, 2014 - 2:44 pm

I love Matilda Jane because it reminds me of growing up in New Orleans in the mid 1970’s. My mom would save her money and we would walk down to the fabric store on Magazine Street so we could pick out fabric for my “new” dress. It was such a simple and happy time in my childhood. When I look back at pictures from that time, it could easily be my daughter from today in 2014 in her Matilda Jane.

Jenica Delgado - January 10, 2014 - 2:41 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of tea parties, and everything that embraces. Little girls with smiles, dressed in what makes them feel beautiful, just being little girls 🙂

jaime reifschneider - January 10, 2014 - 2:40 pm

My friend Lindsey is a walking talking Matilda Jane advertisement. If she isn’t professing her love for Matilda Jane in her daily Facebook posts or posting pictures of her and her daughter in their newest pieces you know something is wrong. She loves Matilda Jane for the style, uniqueness, and for the relationships it has brought her way. Im thankful that Matilda Jane introduced me to this amazing woman and friend.

Kandice - January 10, 2014 - 2:31 pm

Living Life to Inspire! The colors, the detail, the beautiful unique quality draws my attention to your clothing line but the girl within the clothing captures my heart with her exhuberant, radiant and confident appearance. She is innocent and sweet. She is untouched by the outside because she is protected by her attributed your clothes helped her to attain. She may or may not wear her MJ forever, but she will wear in her heart and on her sleeve the confidence she has gained by wearing her MJ. In life she inspire, create and dream! She is my daughter, Hanna!

Trista Makulski - January 10, 2014 - 2:25 pm

Little girls should look like little girls! I can think of a more fitting look than the sweet fashions of Matilda Jane!

Beth G - January 10, 2014 - 2:24 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of the clothes my dad used to buy for when I was I little girl. My mom was always frugal- buying me play clothes within the house budget. But my dad would stop at Marshall Fields on his way home from work or on his lunch hour and buy me the prettiest, twirliest dresses with out a care of what was on that price tag. He wanted me to FEEL pretty and girly and that is Matilda Jane.

When I am shipping for living room pillow fabrics and I think ooh this could be a mjc fabric…. Actually maybe i should just purchase some dresses and make the pillows out of those…

Colleen - January 10, 2014 - 2:13 pm

My girls remind me of MJ. My oldest, specifically, but I can’t play favorites 😉 She is playful and quirky and unpredictable. She has a flair for fashion and her crazy combos actually work with Matilda Jane. I love it!

Jill L. - January 10, 2014 - 2:12 pm

I posted this already on FB, but to me Matilda Jane means family. It’s a part of ours. Not just a brand we shop at a store but the people behind MJC are people I know and care about. Matilda Jane has been such a big part of various events in my kids lives. I really knew how interwoven it was in our family when we were doing adoption paperwork and my husband had to draw a picture of what he imagined our future adopted daughter looking like. He drew a picture of a little girl with a big smile wearing a floral knot dress. (With the brown label) and a big headband. He said he couldn’t wait to dress her just like our other girls so she felt like part of the family. It really touched my heart!

Dana Summerville - January 10, 2014 - 2:12 pm

Rainbows, unicorns, and rainbow brite! Fun,magical, and sweet!

Christy - January 10, 2014 - 2:07 pm

What is reminiscent of Matilda Jane, you ask?
Memories of all that is epitomized by a little girl’s childhood…
Matilda Jane is a shadowbox of sugar and spice, whimsy and wonder, uncanny creativity and unexpected surprise, all the softness and boldness of being a little girl. Matilda Jane is a shadowbox of “My Favorite Things”.

“My Favorite Things”, The Sound of Music

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad

Courtney S - January 10, 2014 - 2:02 pm

I adore all the patterns you talented girls mix and match in every release. It always takes me back to my granny’s sewing room packed and overflowing with every color, pattern and texture of beautiful fabrics. When I was little I loved sitting on her floor pulling out different scraps to see what she thought of my combinations. 🙂 (wish I could post a pic but I gave up my FB account to hopefully be less distracted and more present!!)

Kristyn - January 10, 2014 - 2:02 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of a ballet. It’s beautiful, graceful, and full of girls living their dreams. When my girls aren’t on stage performing ballet, you can find them in their Matilda Jane. They leap and twirl and feel special in their Matilda Jane clothes, just like when they are up on stage. Matilda Jane gives every girl that moment of being a star.

Monika M. - January 10, 2014 - 2:01 pm

Matilda Jane will forever remind me of my Grace’s childhood. Carefree, just twirling through life. Not afraid to be different. That little girly has grown into a young lady. While she’s not wearing MJ as much, we will always have the memories. It might sound stupid, but we both remember what she wore on big days… like the hammond bay cher that went on the Eiffel Tower ;).

Sandra Pena-Vielma - January 10, 2014 - 2:00 pm

We love Matilda Jane because it is beautiful, generous, and so much fun to wear!

Kealii - January 10, 2014 - 1:50 pm

Ok this might not be a winner answer, but Honestly it’s my Best Friend Julie who reminds me of Matilda Jane. Weird I know, but She’s one of the most amazing people. She’s one of those people you are just drawn to in a crowd. She has confidence and a that “Nothing is Impossible” attitude. She is also very giving and kind. Anyone she’s around becomes the most important person to her. She is bold and colorful and oh so cheeky too..which always keeps me laughing.

Michelle Samardzija - January 10, 2014 - 1:44 pm

The Matilda Jane clothing is perfect for all girls! My daughter fits the bill because she love to look sassy and put together, while she is pulling weeds, finding frogs, and catching fish. I love finding rocks and flowers in the deep pockets if her Matilda dresses!

Serena Cox - January 10, 2014 - 1:42 pm

My daughter Bella is a Matilda Jane girl. She is frilly and girly, but completely spunky and unexpected. She can twirl around in her dresses all day, and still wrestle her brothers in her clothes. 🙂

Christy P - January 10, 2014 - 1:42 pm

My daughter reminds me of MJC every day. She is kind, generous, spunky, carefree, beautiful, innocent, motivated, generous and the overall epitome of childhood. She finds the good in everyone and everything even when standing in the face of darkness. She overcomes. I could only hope to have her outlook on life. Todays society wants our babies to grow up entirely too quickly and the fashion industry banks on that. Mjc lets them be bold, bright and creative. MJ lets them be a child. Your company reaches out to all corners of the world to help and motivate. As long as my baby fits in the clothing I will be proud to put it on her.

Lorry - January 10, 2014 - 1:36 pm

Whenever I see Matilda Jane I think of my daughter and how the clothing has helped her to be herself. She is a VERY artistic and eccentric person so the uniqueness of Matilda Jane clothing really helps her to show her true personality on the outside 🙂 Thank you!

Matilda Jane clothing reminds me of my childhood. I loved to mix patterns and create my own outufts.

Lesley Sinkler Johnson - January 10, 2014 - 1:33 pm

MJ reminds me of friendship. I LOVED Holly Hobby as a child, had the nightgown and I wore it as a dress….A LOT! My 1st introduction to MJ was 3 years ago and that was my initial impression! Holly Hobby has come home to me!!! Fun, whimsical, love….childhood….uncommercialized! Thank You

Sara - January 10, 2014 - 1:33 pm

I love Matilda Jane for it’s innocence. For the pure love for children and making them beautiful and making them feel good in their clothing. the styles and quality are un matched by other clothing companies and we will Love it as long as our daughter cherishes it.

Rachael - January 10, 2014 - 1:31 pm

MJ reminds me to take a step back and remember life is simply about happiness! And putting my baby girl in her “pretty dresses” makes me smile ear to ear….and her too!!!!

Brenda Bell - January 10, 2014 - 1:30 pm

MJ it’s a wonderful parade reminds me of my daughters. When you are little and you mother or father told you it was time to go the parade, do you remember that feeling!??? The excitement of seeing all the wonderful things that go along with a parade. Well, my girls have that smile and excitement about everyday! I am blessed with such happy girls. Thanks for the chance.

Andrea Stevens - January 10, 2014 - 1:26 pm

What reminds me of MJ is watching my daughter twirl around the room. There is such joy and glow in her eyes. She is only two so gets a bit wobbly but that doesn’t stop her. She doesn’t have a care in the world at that moment. She dances with such confidence and hint of elegance. Your line captures that joy and freedom but with a hint of elegance.

Nicole hodgman - January 10, 2014 - 1:26 pm

The picture i chose was of my lids walking down a path surrounded by fields. i think it shows that life is an adventure that you never know where it can lead or what is going to happen next! I think children are full of this, and it’s exciting journey full of surprises (just like Matilda Jane)

Linda Z - January 10, 2014 - 1:26 pm

KINDNESS and philanthropy is what reminds me of Matilda Jane!! As a social worker and kindness worker that is one attribute that I ADORE about Matilda Jane. The unbridled passion for humanity! The willingness of your company to offer those experiences to your customers through auctions/purchasing items for a cause is astounding!! That everyone in your company has the same purpose driven passion to make a difference and share those experiences with us. The fact that I feel like I know each and everyone one of your staff makes me feel like a part of your family despite never having met any of you. Matilda Jane is more than a clothing company… it’s a FEELING!! The excitement that your endeavors cascade across your customer base is one of a kind. We move with you and are a part of the journey!! Grateful for Denise’s return and recovery. Looking forward to 2014. Love and light!!

Kait Mosbauer - January 10, 2014 - 1:24 pm

MJ reminds me to courage and inspire every little girl to be unique, be them… Be funky and fun! Don’t over think… Just do! MJ clothes help inspire fun and fashion… While being comfie and cute enough to tackle just about anything.

Rachel Linton - January 10, 2014 - 1:13 pm

Matilda Jane is the happily ever after part of the fairy tale when the story has reached it’s resolution and everyone is happy. Matilda Jane is the outfit your little princess rides off into the sunset in when all of her dreams have come true.

Amy mommy of 5 - January 10, 2014 - 1:13 pm

MaTilDa JaNe is the Innocence and Beauty of children. Plain and simple.

cate - January 10, 2014 - 1:08 pm

My daughter reminds me of MJ and vice versa. She JUST LOVES clothes and dressing up. She loves it that most days at least one person tells her how cute she looks. She loves to get a package with mj and will cuddle it all the way home where she can open it. It also makes me think of my little boy who likes trying on her MJ almost as much as she does!

Michael Boyce - January 10, 2014 - 1:02 pm

My wife, Hope Boyce, reminds me of Matilda Jane because she loves all things Matilda Jane. She buys it for our daughters (3 daughters and a daughter-in-law), grand daughters, and herself. I know she has been looking for the perfect picture to post and win this contest. But I posted one that is spot on. It’s not what she would have picked, but this is my choice. I hope it’s yours, too. Go take a look. It took her 3 years to actually make it to Art Fair, but she loved every minute of it. And safe travels home.

Stacey C - January 10, 2014 - 1:01 pm

A spiderman ballerina dance party…hahaha… but seriously, you’re first reaction is… what? contrasting patterns and colors….and ruffles? Those don’t go together… but then you get to the party (trunk show) and you see all the fun, excitement and joy…..and just how beautifully a spiderman ballerina dance party really is….. =)

Angel - January 10, 2014 - 12:59 pm

My daughter, Lenzi, reminds me of Matilda Jane because she is a free spirit. She goes with the flow with such a wonderful sense of humor. I posted on Facebook (@angelpope) but didn’t know how to link to you.

Samantha Baumann - January 10, 2014 - 12:55 pm

We LOVE Matilda Jane for the imagination of a child it represents. Everything is so unique and beautiful in its own way!

Laura Bonacker - January 10, 2014 - 12:55 pm

MJ reminds me of my childhood days (I am 43), they were simple, laid back and fun. Kids could be kids!

Sara Courtney - January 10, 2014 - 12:55 pm

The smiling faces of the girls on the Mighty Acorn Foundation site. That is what it is all about! Being a girl, proud of who you are, AND with so much to look forward to. And maybe just a little mischievous ! These girls are going to do great things one day, not just for themselves, but for others, too. That is my idea of what MJC girl is all about. Doing your very best, giving your all, reaching your goals, and showing lots of compassion and generosity along the way.

Heather Y. - January 10, 2014 - 12:54 pm

You all are amazing – always so generous and always offering fun contests! In my mind, Matilda Jane reminds me of whimsy, fun, soft, sweet, escapes into the magical little girl world! One word that reminds me of Matilda Jane is “Giddy” (Webster definition: Playful and silly; Feeling of showing great happiness and joy; causing dizziness.)! Now isn’t this the PERFECT description of Matilda Jane (as a company, your clothing and the adorable little girls that wear it)! Oh, how happy I would have been to be a little girl today!! I think I would have been the ultimate Matilda Jane girl myself. It brings back sweet memories, for myself, of being a little girl. My daughter absolutely loves Matilda Jane… she tells me that she wants to dress pretty (every day) and always requests that she wears her “Tilda Jane.” She gets so giddy! Giddy up girls… Matilda Jane is so much fun and magical!!

Angelina C - January 10, 2014 - 12:49 pm

Here goes! My husband reminds me of Matilda Jane and I remind him of this fact almost weekly. When I first heard of MJC I was about to quit my job to have my second daughter and be a SAHM. I had to keep my obsession in check as we were about to lose over half of our income. It wasn’t a good time to pick up an obsession when we suddenly were having trouble just paying our bills! After months of financial struggle spending no money, I was itching to finally buy something and I was looking forward to a weekend boutique consigment sale… just to look, that’s what I told myself and my husband anyway. So Saturday 9/13 we went as a family. I really couldn’t afford ANYTHING, even $5 was trouble but I found the most adorable MJ dress and it was $25. I had to have it. My husband and I were discussing it, of course, I was beating around the bush hoping he’d just say, “ok, get it.” Which he did but I also felt guilt in buying it, so we continued to ponder. I pondered, really. We briefly discussed our finances and I assured him we were ok, when he asked about the credit card (I handle the finances, obviously) I told him what our available balance was and his reaction was… alarm. He looked VERY surprised. This scared me and I (dramatically) put the dress back and hung my head to the car hoping he would FORCE me to get the dress so I wouldn’t have guilt. We got to the car and it didn’t happen! We get about 5 minutes down the road and he turns the car around when it’s apparent that I’m devastated and he doesn’t want to be responsible, haha. I run in so happy and, wait, no, where is it? It’s GONE! The girl that was helping comes over, “Oh, no, are you looking for that little dress? I think she picked it up.” She points to a girl and I see the dress in her hands. Noooooo! I wait, creeping in the corner until she checks out and all hope is gone and then I get back in the car and actually cry. I cry! So that night, I went on a mad online search to find the dress. That day sprung a very intense obsession of MJC, a daily obsession (can’t wait for my order from Dec 28 ! ) but I bring up this incident every time I buy something and get that look from my husband. No, of course, that day was not his fault, but c’mon, I really, really needed him not just to say “yes”, but to force me to buy it and I’ve twisted things in my mind to believe that he should have just known to do that. haha. Now, I wish I had time to explain more and make sure I didn’t make my husband look bad, he’s the best husband I could ever ask for. Anyway, that’s the story of 9/13 and the reason my husband reminds me of MJC. The art of making happiness into clothing is MJC. Love it! Thanks!

Sue - January 10, 2014 - 12:47 pm

The beautiful clothes on my beautiful Chinese daughter, that’s MJ to me!
Love it!

Lisa Bizzell - January 10, 2014 - 12:45 pm

I love the attention to detail, the layering of patterns and textures you feature in every collection! I try and treat my daughters to one special piece that they say “makes them feel special.” The excitement in their eyes and beauty I see in their twirls is so rewarding! Thank you for sharing your creativity with all of us!!

Sam D. - January 10, 2014 - 12:41 pm

Just posted a pic on your page. It’s a photo of a man in our town, who is known as “Mr. Sparkle”. He brightens everyone’s day by smiling, waving, and dancing at them as they drive by! He has a positive effect on people, as does MJ.

Robyn Tolley - January 10, 2014 - 12:40 pm

I have a picture of myself and 5 friends I made on Facebook at Art Fair last year and it epitomizes Matilda Jane to me. I’ve made some amazing friends through a bonded love of MJ. And the cherry on top- we are all mothers of twins! So we get to bond over the trials of parenting 2 children of the same age and cute clothes. Matilda Jane was a catalyst in our bond and getting the opportunity to meet at Art Fair was amazing. So I am very thankful for Matilda Jane in my life- and it doesn’t hurt that when my kids are driving me crazy I just can’t be mad since they look so cute!

Amanda Neely - January 10, 2014 - 12:34 pm

To me, Matilda Jane embodies everything a mother hopes she can instill in her daughter. Creativity. Fun. Intelligence. Whimsy. Cleverness. Confidence. Attitude. A lightness of being. Matilda Jane, like our daughters, is worth the effort. Worth the investment. Worth taking special care of. A girl’s MJ wardrobe imparts to her the incredible feeling of looking great every day, something we hope they continue to feel throughout the rest of their lives–no small feat in this day and age. I dress my daughter in Matilda Jane because I hope, in some subtle way, it impacts her to hold her head high, take on the world, and to continue to do so until she has achieved all her hopes and dreams.

Noelle - January 10, 2014 - 12:34 pm

My sweet, sassy, and fun-loving Sophie
Pearl. She was our beloved boxer dog that passed away yesterday. I got her before I got married around the same time that I first found out about Matilda Jane at The St. James Art fair in Louisville, KY. Her silly and fun personality (even as a dog) reminds me of what these clothes are all about for us. She was unique and fun and a true friend to my Matilda Jane loving 18 month old, Eloise.

Karen Julian Smith - January 10, 2014 - 12:29 pm

My little grand daughters Mabyl and Isla are Matilda Jane girls. Both love the clothes and love to feel fancy. I’ve always been a “color outside the lines” girl and to be able to let my little free spirited “gigiettes” wear this beautiful clothing is just glittery icing on top of the deliciousness of having them in my life. Thanks for all the cuteness!!

Kerry - January 10, 2014 - 12:28 pm

When I think of Matilda Jane, I think of one of the most important lessons I’m trying to instill in my daughter: just be yourself. Matilda Jane lets little girls– and not-so-little girls! — use clothing to show their personalities. No matter how different, they’re all beautiful.

Lora Teply - January 10, 2014 - 12:27 pm

Matilda Jane matches my daughter’s personality – sweet with a touch of pizazz! I love the innocence and originality of it!

Laurie p. - January 10, 2014 - 12:27 pm

Matilda Jane reminds me of all a little girl’s childhood should be…fun, sweetness, color, whimsy and imagination. Matilda Jane makes me happy.

Becky Haus - January 10, 2014 - 12:27 pm

My mom. She used to make all my clothing (a skill I wish I had aquired). With two girls, I longed for innocent clothing that reflected these less complicated times and were simple in nature, but at the same time “girly.” I did not discover MJC until my youngest daughter was born. Now they both love wearing pieces and appreciate that they are a bit different than what others are wearing in school (and one of them is 11!).

My mom recently made a beautiful scapbook page titled “Patterned After My Mother.” The page featured photos of mom and my Nana and an old tissue pattern that was used numerous times. I hope one day my mom will see that I my values are patterned after her and all she has taught me. I dress “timelessly.” My motto is “family first, professional finest.” I’m trying my hardest to pass along this pattern to my two girls – with a little help from MJC’s beautifully modest clothing.

Traci H - January 10, 2014 - 12:23 pm

I discovered Matilda Jane when my daughter was a baby and it was love at first sight. The knot dresses and big ruffles took me back to my mammaw’s sewing room and the countless hours we spent creating “works of art”. She, too, had an eye for mixing things up with her scraps of fabric. When she met Sloane for the first time, she looked at me with a little pride and asked if I made her clothes. If only I had paid a bit more attention…

Kathy beams - January 10, 2014 - 12:22 pm

My daughter reminds me of Matilda Jane . We adopted her in 2009 from china and she is hearing impaired . Life has been very “unpredictable ” with her special needs but life has also been so fun and colorful !! Her personality is vibrant and sweet – just like Our favorite MJ pieces .

Christina J - January 10, 2014 - 12:18 pm

The thing I see when I think of Matilda Jane is a little girl playing dress up in her moms oversized heels and with pearls around her neck. It reminds me of the bond between a mother and her daughter.

Julie - January 10, 2014 - 12:14 pm

My best friend reminds me of Matilda Jane. She sees life like no other person I’ve ever known. Her mind is like a painting…… swirly and interesting and I see something new in it every time I look. 🙂

Jodi - January 10, 2014 - 12:12 pm

I see Matilda Jane when I see a sweet family out enjoying the day and having fun. I see Matilda Jane when I see a younger person helping an older person cross the street or grab that box of soup off the shelf at the grocery store for them. I see Matilda Jane when I see a group of girlfriends laughing and carrying on having fun together! I also see Matilda Jane when a girl/friend/sister/mother/grandmother is crying and everyone around them is there to help lift that person up or carry that person when they are down. The heart that is in Matilda Jane is every where!

Julia A. - January 10, 2014 - 12:12 pm

A quote I have on the wall of my cube at work reminds me of MJC, “Live in the Sunshine, Swim The Sea, Drink The Wild Air”
To me that is what MJC is to me, showing your love for life and treasuring all of the moments that make up our lovely and unique lives. 🙂

Nancy - January 10, 2014 - 12:06 pm

So many things remind me of Matilda Jane but perhaps because our family is excited for upcoming Mardi Gras celebrations it has me thinking…..if you are a person that thrives on colors and sounds, you must go to Mardi Gras one year. It would be a dream trip for the Platinum Girls! The details, the costumes, the planning and the creativity that goes into all of the parades and float designs. No photographer could truly do the experience justice! The history, the culture, the traditions! We have so many festivities that we attend and I carefully plan out their Matilda Jane attire for each event because it is such a perfect combination! 🙂

Phares Chappell - January 10, 2014 - 12:05 pm

What perfect timing to have this fabulous giveaway as I’m planning a first birthday party centered around Matilda Jane pictures. My photo is a whimsy pink and gold birthday party scene that only MJ clothes would make perfect. I can’t wait for tea party pics with girls’ in their wonderful parade attire!

Amber K - January 10, 2014 - 12:02 pm

A hot air balloon. They stand oh so tall with their beautiful colors. As they lift you into the sky you begin to see the world around you with new and glittering eyes. There’s Wonder and Magic and anything is possible. That is what you are to us Matilda Jane.

Gina - January 10, 2014 - 11:55 am

My daughter reminds me of Matilda Jane every time I catch her in her room with a pair of scissors and a roll of tape while she is re-designing a piece of clothing or has found some of my fabric, which is every day 🙂 she is my free spirit just like Matilda Jane clothing

Crystal Mercredi - January 10, 2014 - 11:55 am

My daughter asked Santa for a puppet theatre this year. It reminds me so much of MJ because it’s got fun patterns, and colours, but is very classy looking. When she is putting on a show she is carefree and giggles the same way she does twirling in her MJ Ellie’s.

Melissa B. - January 10, 2014 - 11:54 am

The amazing friendships I have made through Matilda Jane always make me think of the amazing company that is MJC. Women coming together to dress their daughters as little girls and bonding over the quality and colors and prints. Priceless!!!!

Leia Baumert - January 10, 2014 - 11:54 am

MJ reminds me of my daughter. We adopted her a year ago. She is the only girl in our family. And why not spoil her with cuteness that she would have never had before.

My one year old’s Vintage Carnival themed room reminds me of Matilda Jane and the new collection that is coming out!

Matilda Jane reminds me exactly of what a “little girl” is. A universal little girl..society tries to make babies as young as newborns into teenagers and women ( and not that it can’t be cute once in awhile to see a baby in skinny jeans and sparkles) but if i went ANYWHERE in the world and i saw a little girl in a sweet Matilda Jane outfit, it just conjures up images of a everything a little girl is ,a living doll, scraped knees, helping mommy, picking flowers, tea parties..oh my heart. I beam when my daughter wears Matilda Jane clothing.. it makes her look like everything i dreamed of when i dreamed of having a little girl.

Summers (seen through the eyes of my dd) make me think of Matilda Jane…carefree days of childhood innocence. True, and honest. That is MJ to me 🙂
also, it reminds me of everything I dislike about Justice, but we won’t go there 😉 Thanks for the chance to win this awesome contest!

When I think of Matilda Jane, I think of all of the wonderful people I have met as a result of ‘just clothes.’ I think of generosity, laughter, tears and true beauty. In Matilda Jane I have found some of the best friends a girl could ask for, and in such a hugely different group of personalities. Finding friendship through Matilda Jane means everything.

Tami D - January 10, 2014 - 11:47 am

Matilda Jane reminds me of little girls. This is how they should just. Cute and fun clothing

Wendyjj - January 10, 2014 - 11:46 am

Memories sweet memories! So much reminds me of Matilda Jane 🙂 Each season change and holiday ,every vacation and party, from so many first for my littles to just going out to eat… These clothes have become entangled in my life each one is as wonderful as a picture and helps me remember my blessings and joy. Our closets are full of works of art that are hung on hangers not walls so when you ask me what reminds me of Matilda Jane I ‘d have to say so much but most of all Matilda Jane is anticipation the excitement of change and good things to come be it a season change or a milestone.

Nicole R - January 10, 2014 - 11:45 am

MJC, to me, is about the big picture or a collage of pictures. It’s an artistic collection of fabrics that create a whole. It’s about giving our girls individuality, creativity, originality, freedom & still looking adorable! The collection, my entry & our memories are just that… Collages that I cherish! 🙂

Barbie Harwell - January 10, 2014 - 11:41 am

Every day we go out reminds me of Matilda Jane… why? you ask? Of course, because we have to decide what precious outfit she will wear!

brandi Tallent - January 10, 2014 - 11:41 am

I would be more than honored to win… I want to say that for starters. I love each and every MJ stuff. I have never been able to afford new MJ outfits and my daughter was my last baby girl and I feel as she always get nothing but handmedowns… I would let my little girl wear this and then tuen around and make sure my neice that has special needs recieves these after my baby girl

Carolyn - January 10, 2014 - 11:40 am

Wow, what an AMAZING giveaway!!!!!! I normally do not enter ANY contests especially ones that will have thousands of entrants. But I could NOT RESIST! I have no experience entering contest, so I hope I still have a fair chance!!! I am fairly new to MJ. Just about 6 months now. It all started when a friend invited me to a Trunk Show at her house. I told her that I really wasn’t into MJ clothing. But decided to go support her anyways. I purchased 3 items. To be truthful I still wasn’t “hooked”. After my daughter put on one of the outfits is when my addiction began. My friend couldn’t believe all of a sudden I was so in LOVE with MJ that I told her that when the new line comes out I want her to have TWO trunk shows. The first one as soon as the line comes out and the second when all pieces in the line have been released. I constantly shop on Facebook and ebay. I stay away one day from buying anything it feels like an eternity. I’ve never seen such ADORABLE clothes for girls! I’ve never owned a doll growing up and now I have my own real baby doll who is ADORNED with all your cutesie pieces. Matilda Jane makes all babies look like baby dolls in all shapes and sizes. Everyday I can’t wait to pick something new for my baby to wear!

jennifer - January 10, 2014 - 11:38 am

I posted a picture of my Artfair Dinner ticket. This picture will forever epitomize “Matilda Jane” to me. A friend sent me this dinner ticket in the mail after I was a liver donor in May. I had given up my lunch ticket thinking I wouldn’t be able to attend , but I recovered more quickly then I thought I would, and my sweet friend wanted me to be able to go. I was and still am blown away! I was lucky enough to be able to give a gift, and then so lucky to receive one!!!

Heidi J - January 10, 2014 - 11:37 am

My girls, today and tomorrow. When I envision my children today and in the future I see them dressed in clothes that compliment them from the inside out. From the fun artistic flair to the dare to be different and everything in between Matilda Jane offers those beautiful special pieces to help the girls express themselves.

My little lady eating breakfast in faux fur and a tiara says winsome, wonderful, and a “wee bit of cheeky.”

Rebecca Rumble - January 10, 2014 - 11:36 am

With so many options out there for clothing our little girls, I LOVE Matilda Jane because it captures the innocence, youth, beauty, and pureness that my daughters have at this age, this moment in their lives where they have little worries and concerns except for being a kid.

Andrea beloncik - January 10, 2014 - 11:35 am

Matilda Jane reflects the imagination and dreams of childhood – swirls of color, palettes of nature, sparkles, sunshine, and pure joy.

Brittney Bell - January 10, 2014 - 11:32 am

The thing that reminds me every single day of Matilda Jane is my daughter, Kate, dressed in your clothing with a huge smile on her face and that little look of mischief in her eye. Your clothing comes alive in front of my eyes when she twirls or is riding around on her excavator in an Ellie top (total tomboy). She is growing up in front of my eyes and her keepsake box of special pieces from her life… Baptism dress, first pair of shoes, also includes certain special Matilda Jane clothing. Pieces I will never part with because of the magic it created in our life. Matilda Jane like no other!! What an amazing giveaway, thank you so much for the opportunity to share this with you 🙂

Marta Ukropina (facebook Noelle Leon) - January 10, 2014 - 11:30 am

my picture is on FB
Matilda Jane reminds me of all the time I spent at my Grandmother’s House in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. As a Texas girl, there is something magical about my memories in Lancaster County. Now I have gotten to share those memories with my kids. In the picture is my grandmother age 95 with my daughter looking at my grandmother’s photos on her fridge.
Matilda Jane is all those childhood memories: catching fireflies on a summer night, running through an open field with squeals of laughter, feeling the sunshine on your face, eating whoopie pies and licking every bit off of your finger, crunching the fall leaves, running barefoot in the grass, eating corn on the cob with melted butter dripping everywhere, seeing the beauty of nature, being family and most of all, dancing and giggling like a kid!

Jana - January 10, 2014 - 11:28 am

My daughter reminds me of Matilda Jane and all the wonderful, pure joy and innocence that abounds in her eyes. She sees the world with rose colored glasses and every day is a new, fun adventure full of beautiful stories for our common surroundings. An old dirt lot by our house is called ‘the jungle’ by my 2.5 year old daughter and to watch her imagination grow and feed on everything around her is awe inspiring. MJ takes me into a child’s eyes, their playful senses, witty child-like sophistication ( that often catches me off guard when I hear my daughter speak) and makes me yearn for the wonderful and amazing childhood memories I had. Your clothing boasts insanely beautiful ‘art’ for our kiddos to wear and bask in. My daughter loves the colors and prints and when she puts on a dress her sweet little voice says ‘Mommy I’m a ballerina!!’ as she twirls around me with pure delight. Ahhhh…. Thank you MJ for mimicking the light in my daughter’s eyes and reminding me of the light in my own eyes.

Ashley Jackson - January 10, 2014 - 11:25 am

So many reason to love Matilda Jane. One of the first reason I started shopping with MJ was because I had big babies (if you dot believe just ask Cammie). Nothing fit chunky babies I… wouldn’t trade my babies for anything. The bigger the better but when it came to clothes the only thing she could wear were dresses. I love smocked dresses and all but it just got old. So I went to one party and was hooked. Both my baby girls could wear pants. Whoo hoo!!! On top of all that its eclectic and so diverse it goes with everything. Thank you so much for changing our lives by making clothes that anyone can wear (especially those babies that are large and have healthy size bodies).

Rachel Huber - January 10, 2014 - 11:23 am

I know I will probably not be the one to say something uniquely profound but I’m going to give it a shot! I’ve been in love with the idea of being able to dress a little girl in amazing, unique clothing for all my childbearing years. Well…in truth it probably started with my love of dressing up my Barbies (and my JEM) dolls! My cousin and I would play fashion designer and sketch really “cool” designs and share them with each other! My grandmother even hosted this wonderful party for us where all my friends took turns dressing up in a “wedding” gown and played the bride! (She passed away when I was 10). I had 3 sons before I delivered my beautiful Annabelle! She already had a full closet a good 5-7 years before she arrived! I will never forget our first MJ outfit…Cassie Tank, Robin Ruff and the Love pink shrug from House Of Clouds! Seeing Matilda Jane on the rack reminded me of all the sweet times I played with my dolls and planned outfits for them! And here it was…now I had my own living doll to “play” with it! Her current wardrobe is now 90% MJ. Thanks you for continuing to design playful, fun, and appropriate clothing for girls (and women). I don’t know if one photo can sum all that up but it would probably be a picture of me and my cousin at that party…playing dress up, making memories! Hope we see many more seasons of wonderful clothing!

The book, “Do Princesses Wear Hiking Boots?” by Carmela LaVigna Coyle reminds me of the spirit of Matilda Jane. It is a story about a little girl who asks her mother questions regarding the ‘proper’ way to be a princess. Her mother, throughout the story, assures her that it is what is on the inside that makes a princess, not the outside.

This encompasses the Matilda Jane girl because we are giving our girls the opportunity to shine, no matter what they wear. While we dress our girls in MJ, and they are adorable regardless of how they dress, we still allow them to play in the dirt, and ‘wear hiking boots’, and just be kids! The MJ girl is quirky, fun, adorable, and strong-willed. She is a fantastically beautiful girl with lots of energy, and a passion for living life. She is Matilda Jane.

Heather Dangle - January 10, 2014 - 11:20 am

My daughter Jensyn reminds me of Matilda Jane. She is energetic, fun, loving, never afraid to try something new. Everyday she plays dress the combinations are unpredictable and sweet just like your clothes that we dearly love.♡

Becky Simerly - January 10, 2014 - 11:20 am

Two years ago, I discovered Matilda Jane totally on accident and fell in love immediately. My mom and I bought my daughter lots of goodies for her third birthday. In her almost 5 years of existence, she has become quite the fashionista and MJ is totally her style. She has never been a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl! Just last week, I visited a TK’s house for the first time and saw the PBN collection in person. Wow! I just thought I loved MJ. My daughter and I were in heaven. She picked out lots of goodies, and once again mom and Nana bought them for her birthday. She played with the TK’s daughter and her friend while we shopped. Now, all she wants to know is when she can go to “that house” again and shop! My mom even bought her first MJ item. Matilda Jane is timeless, at least for our family, as 3 generations are wearing it with pride!

Nikki B. - January 10, 2014 - 11:19 am

Matilda Jane will always mean something to our family, even when my three girls outgrow it. It has brought them so much joy in wearing it – it means being “fancy” and “matchy” with our sisters and best friends! Wanting to wear “Tilda Jane” around here is an every day occurrence for my three. I couldn’t imagine a day without it! It puts smiles on their faces as they twirl into school, feeling more confident than ever. It’s just clothes you say? No way. I don’t buy it for a minute. It really is truly something special to make little girls feel like the little princesses they are <3. Thank you Matilda Jane for giving us this little piece of childhood memories that we'll have forever!

Heather Dangle - January 10, 2014 - 11:19 am

My daughter Jensyn reminds me of Matilda Jane. She is energetic, fun, loving, never afraid to try something new. Everyday she plays dress the combinations are “unpredictable” and sweet just like your clothes that we dearly love!

Jennifer McCollum - January 10, 2014 - 11:15 am

Matilda Jane makes me think of beautiful colors and patterns, fun, happiness and helping others. The way you guys give back is amazing.

Richele Caporelli - January 10, 2014 - 11:12 am

Matilda Jane reminds me of rainbows and giggles of little girls! Sugar and spice and everything nice. Mj is Christmas everyday 🙂 seeing my baby girl in her mj is like seeing a glimpse of heaven! Ty for this contest <3

Tiffany - January 10, 2014 - 11:11 am

My children remind me of what mj represents! I love hearing their bubbly laughter and seeing their newfound excitement after discovering something new! My oldest daughter is deaf and since I will never know what her voice sounds like, I just love hearing her giggle and seeing her carefree spirit! It really is about the small things in life…

Jess Elam - January 10, 2014 - 11:10 am

Perfection! That is Matilda Jane! From the moment a little girl enters the world Matilda Jane becomes an essential for perfection! My new bundle of joy (which luckily has an older sister) will not just get hand me downs will get perfection and memories passed down. There will always be a story to share between sisters 🙂

Lauren Sindle - January 10, 2014 - 11:08 am

Well to be honest, I would have to say a lil girl named Ashlynn reminds me of Matilda Jane!!! Her closet is full and with a new baby on the way, she is so scared that she won’t get much anymore!! She wears MJ every single day and is devastated to find out if she will find out she is having a lil sister lol!!! Sounds sad huh?!?? Well I have tried to promise her they she will still get MJ as long as she loves it but it may not be as much because she will have to share with the new baby! So of course she is rooting for a baby brother so she don’t have to share but regardless if what the gender is, we would love for this lil Tuscaloosa Alabama diva to win so her heart won’t be broken next week!! She would be honored to win 🙂 thanks so much for the chance!! And good luck to you all MJ addicts!!!

Jennifer - January 10, 2014 - 11:08 am

My daughter Jasmine reminds me of Matilda Jane!! Both are generous, kind, lovable and oh so sweet!! Jasmine loves to dress up on her MJ and feel special and unique. She is my rainbow of love and joy and when she puts on a new MJ dress she shines!! Words just can’t express how much we love MJ and all they do for the world!! This is a this is a beautiful and wonderful unpredictable company with so much love to give…just like my little Jasmine!! Xoxo

Amanda ijames - January 10, 2014 - 11:07 am

I think all girls remind me of matilda jane! The spunkiness and cheerfulness and determination. The love and caring nature girls have. To be unique and a individual ! That being different is okay! My daughter and nieces are all the things! Is trying something new, conquering a fear! Dancing in the rain , catching a snowflake on your tounge, sharing giggles during a slumber party. These are thing that remind me of matilda jane ! Xoxo Amy

Mama Hope - January 10, 2014 - 11:07 am

Gosh! This is a little bit hard in terms of choosing one picture and why. The picture I posted on your page is a tribute to our annual Family Thanksgivingmas (Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrated during the Thanksgiving holiday when we are all together)!! It’s hard getting all 5 kids/families together, but we do. We morph into Christmas Eve the Friday after Thanksgiving. There is nothing I love more than all 22 of us under one roof. With ALL the girls (big and little) in MJ!

It doesn’t say the comment posted here has to be the same comment as the picture! For my double the luck comment here:
My first thought about MJC is Pay It Forward! Spread the Love is why I fell head over heels in love with MJC … and all the MJC people. And it’s why I became a gifter!! I am a better version of myself since I became such an advocate of PIF and helping others!! I credit Kayla Henderson as my inspiration – I know MJC and Denise helped make Kayla a better version of herself, too. PIF is the perfect example of spreading the love by opening your heart to others and causes!

Amy - January 10, 2014 - 11:07 am

Where do we post pictures?

Vicky Guzman - January 10, 2014 - 11:05 am

My daughter reminds me of MJ. She is so girly and playful and so is MJ!

Tiffany j - January 10, 2014 - 11:05 am

Matilda jane to me is style, cuteness and comfort. I love how matilda jane makes my daughter stand out from the rest. I love the purpose behind these clothes. I love how you give back to kids in need.

Suzanne Schrock - January 10, 2014 - 11:04 am

The way my girls’ faces look when they twirl in their Matilda Jane dresses reminds me of taking them to dinner with the princesses at Disney World. I saw the same look as they twirled in their matching Cinderella dresses. Truly magical!

Christina - January 10, 2014 - 11:02 am

To me, Matilda Jane is an excellent lesson in PRIORITIES. My impression of the company philosophy over the past several years is this: Putting your family and health first, helping/encouraging others in a BIG way second, and working your tail off in the moments between to make sure you have a way to take care of those first two!

Denise’s candid nature on the blog speaks to all of these, which is what makes each of us go head-over-heels for it all (well, all the ruffles and cuteness don’t hurt, either!).

Sometimes it’s also a lesson in financial priorities, LOL. What can we go without this month to score that new lap dress!? 🙂

One of my priorities in 2013 was to ditch Facebook to give more undivided attention to my daughter. So, I won’t be posting a picture to FB – which is fine, because I was ECSTATIC to learn that I won a contest earlier this week (seriously, you can ask Lauren about the ridiculously excited email I’d sent her this week – just couldn’t have come at a BETTER time!).

I just wanted to share the lessons I’ve learned as a member of this fun little (okay, huge) community! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! 🙂

Leanne Wehling - January 10, 2014 - 11:00 am

My grandmother Mary was born in 1904 and died in 2005. She lived through many hardships: losing siblings at a young age, the great depression, both world wars and loading my grandfather too soon. She was strong and compassionate. She was giving and loving. She gave to every charity that asked. She was a painter. She painted rocks the card board from nylon packages when she didn’t have enough money for everything else. Often when my daughter or I am wearing Matilda Jane, my mother will make the comment that it looks like something your grandmother would wear/make and I always take that as the highest compliment!

Brooke - January 10, 2014 - 11:00 am

Matilda jane remind me of when I was younger and my mom made clothes just for me. Colorful, cheery and made with love so I felt special wearing them! Love MATILDA JANE!!

Heather Butterfield - January 10, 2014 - 10:59 am

My sweet girl reminds me of Matilda Jane. She is so beautiful in every way! She has been through more then any child should have to go through in her short 2 years but yet you would never know by how bright and happy she is! All the differences in her little body make her perfect in every way! Just like Matilda Jane, so many mix and matched fabrics and mixed matched outfits and each person takes the same things but can put different peices together but each one is percent in every way. All they bright and happy patterns and peices remind me of her little personality and bring joy to all around!!

Becca Werner - January 10, 2014 - 10:58 am

Smiles remind me of Matilda Jane! My girls love to get dressed up and pose for pictures. They are always smiling when it’s time to get dressed up in their “Milda Jame”. Your clothes make my girls feel special, and that is the best feeling!

Ashley Smith - January 10, 2014 - 10:58 am

MJ is such an amazing company – so giving, unique and fun. MJ has brought new friends into my life and my daughter’s!! Love the clothes and love the company. I love every piece we own!!! 🙂

Christina Kroemer - January 10, 2014 - 10:55 am

I posted a photo that I love of my littlest kids in their swimsuits this summer. To me it captures the essence of Matilda Jane because it’s not about the clothes, it’s about the kids. It’s about the mothers. It’s about friendship. It’s about family. It’s the sweetness of the clothes brought out in the sweetness of the child. It’s the effortless asymmetry of non-matching prints, melted together to elevate their individual beauty—just as people of all colors, backgrounds and walks of life blossom when they work and play together. We love Matilda Jane and the community that surrounds it. So blessed to have this hobby/culture in our lives! <3

Dawn D'Angelo - January 10, 2014 - 10:51 am

Family reminds me of Matilda Jane- I have never felt so close to a company-watching Denise go through what she went through this year was like watching a family member, we cried when we heard the news and we rejoiced with her as she mended. Traveling to fort wayne for art fair every year is like attending a big family reunion .I look foward to seeing some of my best friends from across the country and being welcomed by the Matilda Jane staff-the memories of my girls growing up will always remind me of Matilda Jane -sweet dresses, twirly skirts and big ruffles

Michelle Gresham - January 10, 2014 - 10:49 am

Thank you for the prize I won! Eek! Thank you so much! I love MJC and can’t wait to get Baby Hope (my 12 month old DD) some super cute things from the release! Thank you so much! What a great treat to log on and find; I feel so blessed, and I thank you SO MUCH! I hope you are enjoying your trip! Thank you SO MUCH again!

Harper Sage - January 10, 2014 - 10:48 am

Kid in a candy store! That is what MJC makes me think of 🙂
Everything is so yummy it is hard not to buy it all!!!!!

Laura Davidson - January 10, 2014 - 10:43 am

My post above has a link to my daughter’s nursery, but my previous comment did not post, which said that London’s nursery reminds me of Matilda Jane.

In particular, she has a yellow/mustard marquee letter above her dresser, which, when turned on when all the lights are dim, bathes the room in a radiant, soft glow.

I believe that this is exactly the essence of Matilda Jane. It makes little girls (and women alike) feel radiant and beautiful, and it brings a smile, which is exactly what I do every time I step into London’s nursery.

Sherae Murphy - January 10, 2014 - 10:41 am

My baby girl loves her Matilda Jane or “Batilda Jane” as its known our house:) She loves to pick out a new dress every release day:) She has a whimsical style and loves to mix and match her many MJ pieces! She is the epitome of an MJ girl and Mommy is addicted to it as well;)

Jessica Waldron - January 10, 2014 - 10:40 am

Whenever I think about Matilda Jane Clothing I immediately picture my daughters. They are 11 months apart, yet so different and unique. I love that they each have their own style and can look great in so many different combinations of your items. We were just introduced to Matilda Jane last year and have fallen head over heels in love!

sarah - January 10, 2014 - 10:39 am

Much like many of the comments above, Matilda Jane reminds me of my little girl. I had two boys first and then my girl third. She is fun, exuberant, happy, loves life. I am amazed at her. She expresses so many different emotions, sometimes within minutes!!!! She brings laughter, song, dance, and so much joy to our house! She is colorful.

Amber Dodson - January 10, 2014 - 10:39 am

Matilda Jane reminds me of everything Spring! All the beautiful flowers, colors, smells! Everything feels so fresh and bright, just like MJC!

Kelly holt - January 10, 2014 - 10:39 am

My sweet kids remind me of MJC. They are fun, unpredictable, quirky, silly and all so different yet they all go together perfectly! Just like MJC! My daughter and I love going to and hosting “Matilla James dress parties” (trunk shows)! Each collection is new and exciting, and we enjoy seeing what’s next! Thanks for creating such unique, modest, and beautiful, sweet clothes for my family!

Erin leahy - January 10, 2014 - 10:38 am

I love this brand of clothing because it has brought my daughter and I into this weirdly close bonding experience. We pick out items together. She likes to mix things up. And she only just turned two. My husband loves it as well. He loves picking out her outfits. And the comments we receive from people. Matilda Jane clothing has been worn in so many special memories, and we will have beautiful photographs forever!!

Laura Davidson - January 10, 2014 - 10:38 am

I just posted above about my daughter’s nursey and posted before I remembered that I had a blog post with photos of her nursery, so you can see it. 🙂

Brooke - January 10, 2014 - 10:38 am

Oh wow! You all are so generous! I really love MJ because it is a reminder that you can still do what you love, keep the passion and hold firm to the beliefs you start out with in a company! My husband owns his own business making websites and videos – and it is his art. So many companies jut want so badly to make money that they sell out and cheapen their business. He has such a passion to stay true to why he started his company and through discovering MJ I have shared with him about your company and it has been such an encouragement to our family! Thanks for keepin it real, being so generous and staying inspired!

Susan Welch - January 10, 2014 - 10:37 am

The moment after a rain shower when the sun comes out and everything is new and fresh and bright…that is the spirit MJ captures.

Heather Gruber - January 10, 2014 - 10:37 am

The simple joy of childhood reminds me of Matilda Jane! Being able to find fun and happiness in the simplest of things around you, be it leaves on the ground or the happy pattern on a piece of clothing, is what children have perfected. Matilda Jane has perfected the art of making the girls (and women) in my life smile by putting on something that makes them feel good on the inside and out. Knowing that the company making the clothes is doing good through their work makes putting them on feel twice as grand.

Sarah - January 10, 2014 - 10:36 am

(pic on Facebook) When I think of Matilda Jane, I think of the one person in my life who changed everything. My grandmother, Myra “Mymy”. She unfortunately was bed-ridden for the last decade of her life, but there was never a day that her nails were not painted or she was not dressed to the 9’s. 🙂 She lived 90 years with such grace and beauty, all the way to the end. She even had a cheeky side to her that was my favorite quality! Mymy’s ability to make people laugh AND feel so good about themselves made her the most popular gal in the nursing home. Her love of life and for others was more than inspiring. I miss her dearly, but know she lives on in my girls wearing their Matilda Jane!

Anny Hartley - January 10, 2014 - 10:35 am

My youngest daughter is my reminder of Matilda Jane. I stumbled upon Matilda Jane Clothing while I was pregnant with her. I can’t believe it but she will be two on Sunday, and although I wish I could slow down time and keep her little forever, I am so thankful for Matilda Jane joining us on this journey, her childhood. It’s more than just clothes. It’s my dear one’s personality, her spirit shining through. All the wonderful memories we already have of her and all the ones we are still going to make. Matilda Jane is forever intertwined in our lives, and I am ever so thankful for your company.

shana h - January 10, 2014 - 10:33 am

In thinking of what picture to choose that epitomizes the essence of Matilda Jane – I would like to say it would be one of my girls, but in all actuality, the only picture that comes to mind is the picture of Sam when she shaved her head to honor Denise. It shows the love, compassion, kinship, and heart and soul of Matilda Jane. The line is not just fashion and trends–it is the relationships built by this company and their vision.
Love you all 🙂

Marie Sykes - January 10, 2014 - 10:33 am

I LOVE Matilda Jane – the eclectic colors and fabrics! Reminds me of the simple, fun, happy-go-lucky days of childhood and what I want for my two girls!

Michelle P - January 10, 2014 - 10:30 am

Matilda Jane clothing just makes people happy. My husband, which is the big shocker, since he normally never cares about fashion wishes we could just get rid of all of our 2 younger (2 and 4) y/o daughter’s “normal” clothes and replace all of them with Matilda Jane. Every day that he has to choose an outfit he chooses Matilda Jane on both girls. Most days that we go out in public our girls our dressed in Matilda Jane and we are stopped at least 5 times to ask about their clothes. Everyone smiles when they see them walk by. The fact that you could win over my husband with clothes to me really says something about your style. We love Matilda Jane. Thank you so much.

Nicole D - January 10, 2014 - 10:26 am

MJ reminds me of my sister and I when we were young, running wild and free through the countryside.

Rebel Judge - January 10, 2014 - 10:26 am

Growing up in the 60s/70s, I absolutely loved going to the local Hallmark tho get a glimpse of Holly Hobbie. She represented innocence, sweetness, and was so so so cute…all words that fit MJ perfectly as well.

PS…my oldest daughter, Holly, soon to turn 21 also embodies all of the qualities listed above…and so many more! 🙂

Roula Plawner - January 10, 2014 - 10:24 am

The wonderful sound of children’s laughter reminds of MJ! When I hear a child or a baby laughing or giggling with exhiliration, I feel an overwhelming sense of happiness and quickly forget all of my troubles and worries! I feel the same about MJ clothing. MJ pieces with their beautiful textures, designs and colors exude the same sense of happiness and transport me to my happy place!

Stefanie S. - January 10, 2014 - 10:24 am

It was almost 2 years ago, before the birth of my daughter that I discovered Matilda Jane and my life has not been the same since!
I have a friend who makes simple yet oh so cute summer dresses for her girls and since she was too busy to make me one, I began my search online to see what I could find. I was not disappointed, at Matilda Jane I found summer dresses and so much more!!
So when I see Matilda Jane Clothing it reminds me of that great gal I know, a fun and free, creative and unique, slightly cheeky yet classy lady all wrapped into one… And this is Matilda Jane! Thank you ladies for the life you breathe into your work, and thank you for the happiness you bring into the lives of others through your products!

Ella Segura - January 10, 2014 - 10:23 am

The sweet innocence smile of little girls, that is what makes me think of Matilda Jane

Danielle s. - January 10, 2014 - 10:23 am

Matilda Jane make me think of nature and the beauty that can be found right outside our door. She is delicate, dainty, colorful, vibrant, breathtaking, gentle, a force to be recon with, and not to mention desirable. Sometimes I am in awe of what nature’s can show us and just the same with MJ. Just awe at the beauty that can be displayed. It can be as simple at these beautiful tulips at sunset to a strain of Amber wheat on a fall morning. From the rock with the vibrant green moss on it with flowing water running over it to the fluffy fur do a new kitten. Beauty is everywhere and MJ is also. Peace.

Michele - January 10, 2014 - 10:21 am

Love this!! My little girls remind me of Matilda Jane~They are sweet and fun just like the clothes. My trunk keeper also reminds me of Matilda Jane~Lisa Rapo~She is kind and sweet

Alysson - January 10, 2014 - 10:20 am

Shirley Temple totally exemplifies the MJC Brand! That awesome head of feminine curls mixed with a sassy wardrobe and attitude!

Melissa S. - January 10, 2014 - 10:20 am

The color combos and the design of the Land of Nod Catalog remind me of Matilda Jane. Anytime I open the catalog and see the closet accessories-I am fully expecting to see a closet full of MJ in there. The crafty cuteness of MJC would blend so well with their furniture. I’d love an entire house that looked like that catalog!

Cristen G - January 10, 2014 - 10:19 am

My three daughters remind me of Matilda Jane– they are all so different, but completely the same. Their personalities mix and match. They have bright spunky moments and sweet quiet afternoons. I love how they grow and learn for each other. Matilda Jane provides them with fun and comfy outfits that get loved, shared, and handed down. Thanks for being you!

Marianne Donaldson - January 10, 2014 - 10:19 am

Spring flowers, fall leaves, tea parties, birthday parties, little girls playing….all make me think of MJ! I love EVERY.SINGLE.PIECE….how comfortable, how adorable, how sweet it makes my little one look! 🙂

Emily J Tucker - January 10, 2014 - 10:18 am

My grandmother Mary Luallan. She died before I was born, but she comes to mind when I think of who reminds me most of beautiful fun Matilda Jane clothing. I cherish the items I have that she made. She was a wonderful seamstress and quilter and my dad always smiles and talks about how much she would have loved my daughters clothing when we sees her in Matilda Jane! It makes my heart happy 🙂 We love you MJC!

Jennifer Vess - January 10, 2014 - 10:16 am

I will be posting a picture of my photographer, Heather. We use the same photographer every year for Christmas family photos and my youngest daughter’s annual pictures. I would post a picture that she took of my daughter in her MJ, but that wouldn’t really show Heather’s personality. I think Matilda Jane does a wonderful job capturing the personalities of the girls in your photo shoots. She does the same for us, but that’s not the only reason I love her. Just as Matilda Jane is, she is one of the most unique and unpredictable people I know. Her personality is one that is so hard to explain. Always happy, so giving, not afraid to stand out, doesn’t fit into societal norms (and I love that), and has so much patience for the little ones that she photographs daily. I love her to pieces!

Susan Mullins - January 10, 2014 - 10:15 am

My daughters second bday pictures, that are all over my house, remind me of MJC. She of course has MJ on in them, but it just reminds me of MJ stock pictures bc of th theme we done. They are colorful, happy, joyful, & super cute. We just love love love MJC!!!!!!

Sheri London - January 10, 2014 - 10:15 am

Thank you for the opportunity! So excited to see the cuteness!

Tammy D - January 10, 2014 - 10:13 am

Matilda Jane clothing has taught me that as a mom we need friends, friends you can plan girls trips, play dates and lunch dates. Someone you can cry, laugh and talk to and call a million times a day! What started off with a common clothing addiction has became a wonderful friendship! Thank MJ for bringing wonderful mommas together!

Adriana Benitez - January 10, 2014 - 10:13 am

MJ remind me so much my childhood , my Country ! Lot of fun , happy ,beautiful and delicate color ! That wy I love to see my daughter Bella in Mj clothes 🙂

Sandy - January 10, 2014 - 10:11 am

It’s about imagination and fun. Every line is a new exciting beginning. My daughter wore MJ on her 5th birthday and her first day of school. She wears her MJ through her exciting new adventures. That’s what MJ is all about.

heather potwin - January 10, 2014 - 10:11 am

I love how MJ keeps my 10 year old looking like a 10 year old. She love the comfort, the style, and mostly the compliments! Thanks for making beautiful clothing

Melanie D - January 10, 2014 - 10:10 am

This is a picture of my great Aunt , ( posted on the MJ Facebook page) Aunty Anna who was like a second mother to me. She had a passion for beautiful, unique and stylish clothing and things…and did everything she could to ensure that my little princess would share this passion. She adored my little girl Makenzie and would often remind me that little girls are only little once! She reminded me often that I needed to cherish the time I was able to nurture and encourage Makenzie to be a carefree and spirited little girl. Aunty Anna also constantly instilled in Makenzie to always be true to herself… To be confident, unique , brave and most of all….kind and compassionate.
My Aunty Anna had Alzheimer’s and we cared for her full time up until last March when she passed. She had a wonderful, fulfilling life and she always lived it with passion, empathy, creativity … Without fear, self inflicted limitations or judgement or unnecessary boundaries.
Her outlook on life, her morals, the things she taught my daughter to be of importance, and her memory ALL remind me of Matilda Jane. Not only for the many above reasons I mentioned … but also because it was her that encouraged this wonderful addiction I now have , of Matilda Jane!!!
Two years ago when I purchased my very first Matilda Jane outfit, my Aunt happened to be here as I eagerly opened the package. She called Makenzie into the living room and could barely contain her excitement as she put her in her very first Matilda Jane outfit. Although I know this sounds over dramatized and a tad “cheesy”… is exactly how my passion for dressing my little girl in beautiful, unique clothing started.
My Great Aunt immediately asked how we could get more of this adorable and “cheeky” clothing fir my “sassy lassy” as my Aunt called her lol
We soon became avid MJ shoppers, collectors and admirers . Every morning or special event as I get Makenzie dressed…and with every new MJ order that arrives, It warms my heart knowing that she is looking down on us with a smile on her face .. She successfully passed on her love for beautiful and unique things to my daughter. More importantly she passed on the message to my daughter that she should be unique, spirited, creative, sassy , confident, compassionate and kind. All things that in my opinion, Matilda Jane stands for.

Sappy and long winded ?….yes… But also the truth 🙂 it’s sooooo much more than ” just clothes.”

Stephanie Rogers - January 10, 2014 - 10:10 am

My sweet baby girl and her cousins remind me of MJ! All so different and unique with bright personalities of their own….just like MJC! I can’t help but look at this picture and see how truly blessed I am to be a part of a big diverse family! We don’t all share the same blood or parents but we love each other and will always be there for each other and I think that’s what family is all about.

Kathy M - January 10, 2014 - 10:08 am

I posted a photo of my girl in her MJ loving on my Strawberry Shortcake baby doll from childhood wearing a blanket like a super hero cape because she feels pretty like a Princess and comfy enough to play a rough and tumble super hero. I love that the clothes are soft and well made and hold up to playground play.

Ashley Wade - January 10, 2014 - 10:06 am

We were just recently introduced to MJC, so we only have a few pieces so far. We can’t wait for the spring release and trying to build my daughters closet! I love the classic appeal of the clothes, but cut and designed in a modern way! I posted a picture on FB of something that reminds me of this 🙂 thanks so much for the opportunity!

Amber - Hilton Head Photographer - January 10, 2014 - 10:04 am

I posted one of my favorite photos of Amelia Earhart, my childhood hero and now one of my dd’s! She has classic vintage style with an adventurous spirit and even though I’ve never met her – I’m sure she’s got a cheeky personality! Amelia totally reminds me of MJC!

Emily Harrison - January 10, 2014 - 10:04 am

My sweet friend Raegan Morrison is what Matilda Jane is all about. She is so caring and giving. She is a beautiful soul. Raegan has been through a lot with her mother battling (and YES!!! Surviving) breast cancer when she was younger. And having to grow up quickly. She spent time in Africa helping the less fortunate and giving to the sweet children there and is wanting to go back to do more. While in school helps others and is an amazing friend. All of which when reading the MJ blogs described your company. She loves my children and we love her.
And of course my sweet Stevi Jane reminds me of Matilda Jane and would love the first line of It’s A Wonderful Parade.

I can’t get the picture of Raegan and my daughter, Stevi Jane, but it is posted on the Facebook page. 🙂

The Swing from A Child’s Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson (poem). Like Matilda Jane Clothing it celebrates the sweet innocence and enthusiastic joy of childhood. Scrolling through my fb photos I found a photo of my grandmother who used to recite this poem to me. It is dear to my heart.

Jennifer Cliett - January 10, 2014 - 10:02 am

My girls remind of MJ clothing because they are so sweet and innocent and that is how they look in their MJ clothing. The world has changed so much since I was growing up that I just want to keep them that way. Every time they wear MJ clothing I get asked where do I get their clothes and tell them about you and who they need to contact . Can’t wait for this release

Allison H. - January 10, 2014 - 10:01 am

We have vintage linens that have been handed down to us from family members. There are many that are bright, floral, and fun! I think of all the love and time that went into making them and all the wonderful and happy occasions they have been a part of, just like my daughter’s sweet Matilda Jane clothing!! 🙂

Anne Doventry - January 10, 2014 - 10:00 am

My daughter, Charlotte, remind me of MJ because she is spunky and energetic and silly and beautiful, just like MJ!

Sara Reinert - January 10, 2014 - 9:58 am

A big field of tall grass and flowers. I see lots of pretty pictures with MJ girls soaking in the sun there.

Beth Fortner - January 10, 2014 - 9:58 am

Loving the pink in this new line!

Gwen Van Order - January 10, 2014 - 9:57 am

Fun colors, baby smiles, sunshine and my mother’s handmade quilts make me think of Matilda Jane 🙂

Brenda Butts - January 10, 2014 - 9:57 am

Ruffles! When I think of Matilda Jane, I see ruffles! When my 3 girls were babies, my dad and my husband’s dad loved to see ruffles on their granddaughters!!!! Ruffled socks, ruffles on the bum, ruffles everywhere! They are a must for any little girl. I love the way the ruffles keep them little and sweet!

Megan Curtin - January 10, 2014 - 9:56 am

My grandma reminds me of Matilda Jane. She is bubbly and totally full of life. At 85 years young she is the most wonderful and kind person I have ever met. Her smile quickly grabs everyone’s attention…just like Matilda Jane clothing does on my little girls!

Valeria P - January 10, 2014 - 9:56 am

Bridgette Jenkins Lott…The ultimate source for all things MJC on facebook, whether Plat, Art Fair, old lines, or new! When I think of “someone on facebook that reminds me of Matilda Jane”, she is top of the list:)

Sarah - January 10, 2014 - 9:55 am

My daughters remind me of Mj every day. A friend introduced me by bringing me to show- at the time I was frustrated that my long and lean 4 year old was already in the girls section at stores and the clothing was no longer age appropriate- with Mj she’s been able to express her fashion taste, without mama worrying about whether or not it’s acceptable to be seen in. My other daughter has a lot going on medically, but she’s always dressed to the 9s in her Mj and instead of people seeing her trach, vent or anything else, they always comment about how cute she looks- people see her differently because of Mj.

Khara Oneil - January 10, 2014 - 9:55 am

Thanks for the fun contest! I posted my picture on your page but in addition, Matilda Jane, to me, means all things beautiful.

Erin Spencer - January 10, 2014 - 9:55 am

Oh My Cuteness!!!! My little baby Paige so reminds my MJC…..she was a Fifty Shades of Grey surprise!!!! And from the first moment I could feel her to date she is a fiesty, twirly, kicky bundle of pure cuteness!!! I had some major complications, a very hard pregnancy and a very scary delivery…..but it was totally worth it as we have LOVED every second with her!! It has been such a joy to recycle her big sisters MJC (which I really never thought I would have a chance to do, they are almost 7 years apart, 4/12/06 & 4/18/13)!! I sold or gave away everything else but just couldn’t bare to part with Ashley’s MJC…..and going through the bin with her has brought back sooooo many memories and Ashley is so cute picking out what MJC she wants Paige to wear everyday!!! One of Ashley’s favorite memories of MJC is when she was runner up in one of your first contests years ago, she made a multi color play dough pancake that reminded her of MJC and we sent it in with a letter…..maybe you remember her??? Anyway she was picked as 1 of 10 didn’t win the grand prize but of coarse you sent several wonderful goodies to wear!!!!! Sorry to ramble on and to some up both of my fiesty, happy girls remind me of MJC every day!!!

Lisa Thompson - January 10, 2014 - 9:54 am

My sweet, sweet daughter remnds me of Matilda Jane. The sweet mix of fabrics, with a bit if flare is def my daughter. Sweet and Sass! My daughter and I love the ease of fabrics, the bright colors and when she wears Matilda Jane we dont fight over her outfit! It’s so much easier when Matilda Jane is in the closet!

Tiffany Wilkins - January 10, 2014 - 9:53 am

I think just the simple fun of childhood reminds me of MJ. Kids rolling in the grass, bare feet, all of that wonder they seem to find so easily. <3

Kelly Fry - January 10, 2014 - 9:53 am

Spring flowers remind me of MJ 🙂 All the beauty, color and life that radiates at that time of year reminds me of the gorgeous fabrics and textures we love.

Amanda Smith - January 10, 2014 - 9:52 am

I feel that my daughter reminds me a lot of Matilda Jane clothing. She is sweet and sassy and can be a little lady who definitely knows how to have fun! When I discovered Matilda Jane last Fall I immediately though of how perfect it is for her personality!

Jamie K White - January 10, 2014 - 9:52 am

Everytime my daughter has a sleepover and I see all the little girls in their cute colorful pajamas, paired with all their little smiles and giggles, it reminds me of what MJ is all about! Fun times!!!

Debbie Lux - January 10, 2014 - 9:51 am

Beautiful, colorful pinwheels remind me of MJC. My daughters love to twirl and spin in their MJC just like pinwheels.

Elisa Doran - January 10, 2014 - 9:51 am

My free-spirited 6year old daughter Kate I feels embodies the Matilda Jane spirit. She gets so much joy each morning picking out her “outfit” and using fashion to show her mood and style!

Valerie - January 10, 2014 - 9:51 am

The picture I see with Matilda Jane is a rainbow of colors on a fall landscape. The simple beauty of a landscape with all the colors Matilda Jane puts into their clothing. The colors and patterns are what draw me to these beautiful clothes. I love seeing such a eclectic mix of colors on my daughters and they love feeling beautiful in the clothing.

Elissa Higgins - January 10, 2014 - 9:49 am

I ❤️ Matilda Jane for my girls and they love it just as much as I do!! Matilda Jane reminds me of a kaleidoscope. The colors and shapes are all different but they somehow all work together perfectly to make something beautiful!!

Ginny Tauer - January 10, 2014 - 9:48 am

shared a photo of my gorgeous neices, nephew and my funny little daughters! They embody MJ for sure!

Susan - January 10, 2014 - 9:48 am

My daughter’s personality and initials (MJ) remind me of the carefree, fun-loving style of Matilda Jane!

Abby - January 10, 2014 - 9:47 am

I can’t post a picture on Facebook because I have given up facebook in order to focus more time on my family, but I do still follow you on Instagram and Twitter! Lol. And here of course! You have asked what makes me think of Matilda Jane, but really you and your team have become such a part of my family that almost everything I do involves Matilda Jane in some way. Many of my best friendships were started because of Matilda Jane and connections that I have made thanks to you! Most of the photographs on the walls in our home feature my daughter and I wearing Matilda Jane( since she has worn it all her life). 90% of my daughter’s clothing and about 1/2 of mine is Matilda Jane so getting dressed each day brings a new and ” unpredictable” joy. Holidays are made beautiful with Matilda Jane. But here is one non-Matilda Jane item that really makes me think of your company and smile…. My daughter’s Bamboletta dolls. Each time I see them, I smile and think back to the House of Clouds Photo shoot where I was first introduced to these toys. They make her smile… And that brings light and find MJC memories to my day!

Kortney - January 10, 2014 - 9:47 am

I posted a picture of my six year old little girl, Miley, to your Facebook wall. She reminds me of Matilda Jane! She is so sweet, caring, funny fun and has the most contagious laugh ever! Her unique and fun personality reminds me of Matilda Jane:) she loves wearing your clothes because they are “different.” I love that about her!

Rachael greder - January 10, 2014 - 9:46 am

When I think about diversity, I think Matilda Jane. It’s in your clothes, in your style, in your personality, in your advertising, in your staff. We love how diverse your clothing is and how changing pieces transitions through the ages of youth. There is not just one outfit with all the matching pieces. There are a million ways to piece together adorableness even crossing over from collection to collection. Nothing ever seems to go out of style and new makes old new again. It is so fun to discover the designer within ourselves as moms and daughters when looking through our Matilda Jane choices. It is quite unusual for there to be one Matilda Jane girl like another. That makes it that more special. Your advertising shows your diversity beyond your styling and clothing within your models. They are young, beautiful, natural, and a true American representation of diversity and ethnicity. Matilda Jane has the most incredible staff… Ever. We have had the pleasure of meeting some of you through shopping and advertising experiences and we were blown away every time. The depth of diversity within the staff and your personalities is quite impressive and offers your company a balance that is truly unique and a treasure. So when I think of Matilda Jane I smile and think of many great things and how adorable my daughter looks and “incredibly superstarish and awesome” she feels when she slips on Matilda Jane for the, but diversity is how I would sum it up. Great job Matilda Jane!

Georgina Thompson - January 10, 2014 - 9:46 am

My daughter’s name reminds me of Matilda Jane…weird I know, but let me explain. Her name is Kherington. It’s a long name, unique and everyone always asks what it means. Unusual even. People always comment they’ve never heard anything like it and it’s just beautiful. Once they’re exposed to it, they never forget it. That’s the wonderful thing about being unusual or unique – you leave a lasting impression on someone’s life. – big or small. My daughter’s name has no “real” meaning in a baby name book. It’s not on the top ten list for most popular names that you hear everywhere. And that’s exactly how I wanted it. I want her to define herself. I want her to define what her names mean. I want her to always be unusual in a way that makes her beautifully unique. Matilda Jane reminds me of this. It’s one of a kind, not everyone has heard of it before, but when they do and see it’s beauty, they never forget it. And it defines them each in different ways. It’s never “by the book”!

Tracy dick - January 10, 2014 - 9:45 am

The fair, your always happy and excited which makes for a lot of fun and smiles! Its full of amazing colors and patterns! Love mj in the most unexpected places!

Carmen Elijah - January 10, 2014 - 9:45 am

The first time I saw MJ was at an ice cream place, a lady with 2 girls they were wearing the most uncommon and at the same time pretty clothes, that I’ve ever seen in my life, I could’t help and kept my eyes on the clothes trying to find out a brand tag or something that would tell me more about the dresse, finally saw Matilda Jane on the back of the top, and all the way back home I was trying to remember the name, finally google a lot of matildas combination and voilà! Found the website, kept digging until I found how to order and got my first MJ pieces wich I love!!! So yes every time we go to the ice cream place my excitment is more about spotting some little girl wearing MJ than the ice cream!!

Who reminds me of Matilda Jane? My sweet sassy 5 year old who dances through the world every day like it is her favorite personal ballet. She does it best in her Matilda Jane!

Matilda Jane reminds me of my girls. Beautiful, creative, fun and totally different from each other but made perfectly for each other. Can’t wait for feb 1!!!

mary - January 10, 2014 - 9:42 am

MJ reminds me of a quilt handmade by my Grandma. I also live the age appropriateness in the land of hoochie momma clothes for young girls.

Kelley - January 10, 2014 - 9:42 am

My daughter reminds me so much of matilda jane. she wears MJ daily, but more importantly her character and personality are very unique much like the clothing. She is carefree, creative, imaginative, caring, independent, sweet and sometimes a little sassy. She is my little artist. She loves to color, sketch, doodle and draw! As her mother, I strive to teach her all about life but in reality she is teaching me what life is all about.

Chera - January 10, 2014 - 9:41 am

I’m looking forward to seeing the collection in its entirety and on my daughter! She has February 1 marked on her calendar and is so excited!

linda patterson - January 10, 2014 - 9:41 am

For the blog question, what reminds you of Matilda Jane, and why…well i wanted to post pics of my Averie, but I do that all the time here.(on Facebook) I do feel like SHE reminds me of Matilda Jane, but Matilda Jane reminds me of her too, I found this great picture on Etsy called “Silk Swing” by Olga Cuttell and it reminds me of them both. Happy curiosity and innocence, of course, while looking totally cute! Most of her work makes me think of the magic you guys weave! I posted the pic on your Facebook page..

tina - January 10, 2014 - 9:40 am

The Smile on my daughters face when she wears MJ for sure. She is 7 and she loves her Mj in fact it’s her first choice always when she goes out! (She wears a uniform to school) I love that her choices makes her feel special! Thank you MJ!!

Lauren G - January 10, 2014 - 9:38 am

Matilda Jane is the epitomy of youth – my daughter Aria looks stunning whereever we go but is still comfortable, different, and stands out. We absolutely love the company and what it stands for so much. MJ has become a big part of our lives and we live in it every day.

linda patterson - January 10, 2014 - 9:38 am

My daughters’ giggles and smiles remind me of MJ because that’s what I do every time I see the new collections! I love MJ for my girls and for myself! 🙂 I love that MJ allows me to coordinate my daughters’ outfits in a fun, girly, and unique way!

Becky - January 10, 2014 - 9:38 am

When I think about Matilda Jane Clothing, I think about friendships that have been born out of a love for our children, beautiful clothing, and an inspirational designer and philanthropist. At Art Fair this past summer, I got the chance to meet some wonderful mommas, whom I had already called friends, even before we met. What a thrill it was to finally meet them in person. These relationships will always remind me of Matilda Jane Clothing and that it’s not “just children’s clothing”. Thank you for this fun contest.

Just posted my picture and explanation….her it is

After reading your blog post, the first thing that popped into my head was a carousel. When you ride a carousel, each rider chooses a horse and usually, no 2 are the same. Each ride is different than the last, with so many choices, yet somehow, when you stand back and take in the whole picture, everything fits together perfectly; the music, the different horses, the colors, the riders. For me, that is Matilda Jane. Lots of amazing color, whimsical style, yet when you lay it all out and stand back, it all makes sense.

Kimberlee Haag - January 10, 2014 - 9:37 am

My little girl’s spunky attitude, crazy hair, and lighthearted spirit remind me of MJ!

Megan Branham - January 10, 2014 - 9:37 am

We love Matilda Jane- my girls love wearing it and picking it out themselves!!! It reminds me of a Cirque du Soleil show- an imaginative, be yourself, beautiful, anything goes, bright and beautiful circus.

Lindsey Langhans - January 10, 2014 - 9:37 am

The ride “It’s a small world” at Disney world reminds me of Matilda Jane! All of the dolls from all the different countries had on clothing that looked like it could have been from Matilda Jane! My husband even commented on that before I could say it! Matilda Jane is for everyone around the world and I love it!!

Kerry Petryk - January 10, 2014 - 9:36 am

I posted a picture of a print that I recently purchased for my daughters room. It reminded me instantly of her wearing her MJ. MJ to me is beautifully innocent, fun and unique. Just as I hope my daughter will be in her life.

Candace Mettenburg - January 10, 2014 - 9:36 am

I sew as a hobby and my daughter and I both love to shop for cute fabrics to mix and match. That always makes me think of the unique Matilda jane clothes.

Mary Heather Martin - January 10, 2014 - 9:36 am

The pumpkin patch reminds me of Matilda Jane — we had taken our little girl to the pumpkin patch and saw another little girl in an adorable matilda jane knot top and ruffles – my husband commented on how cute her outfit was, and the rest is history!

Outdoor carnivals, springtime dancing in the flowers, the opening scene of sound of music, pure joy. These are things that remind me of Matilda Jane

Samantha Hall - January 10, 2014 - 9:35 am

My friends list – It has doubled in size over the past year. My Matilda Jane obsession began 8 months ago. I had around 1000 friends and now I have closer to 1500 friends – 99% of those friends I have met from either going to an open show, through my TK, or through the buy/sale/trade world of MJ. Their adorable daughters not only help me style my daughter in the perfect outfit each and every day, they help me in my everyday life. Nothing is more perfect than meeting a mom who goes through the same struggles and triumphs, doesn’t pass judgment, and offers advice. The icing on the cake is they all love Matilda Jane as much my daughter and I do! It’s a blessing to share all these memories with all of you fabulous ladies!

((I tried to post a pic of my friend list, but it won’t let me add it )) thanks for the opportunity! God bless!

Leslie - January 10, 2014 - 9:34 am

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Matilda Jane! Whenever I look at your site, I fall in love with just about every item you ever post! I have a sweet little girl who just loves wearing your clothes too! She goes for your clothes first every morning and is sad if they have already been worn and doesn’t have something funky, frilly, unique to wear for the day! I always get compliments whenever I take her anywhere!

Sarah Glass - January 10, 2014 - 9:34 am

I am reminded of MJ whenever my 22 month old daughter asks to color or paint! She excitedly chooses colors, lines, shapes and hand prints to make a collage of fabulous children’s art! But what completes and connects it to MJ is she always asks me to draw or paint smiles on it! Her creativity brings a smile to my face just like the the smiles that are brought to each created MJ piece! 🙂

Emily C - January 10, 2014 - 9:33 am

My daughter, she is the only girl surrounded by boys. She is so fun, energetic and such a free soul. Matilda Jane is just who she is, no matter what she does it is still cute 😉

Lindsey Patrick - January 10, 2014 - 9:33 am

This is the Tyler Rose garden, in my hometown. It is the most breathtakingly beautiful sight, and can can smell the roses from a mile away! This gorgeous place reminds me of mj because of the “pops” of color! Both are so vibrant and full of life! There are 100s of varieties but each are different yet still amazingly gorgeous. The colors and mix of styles is what makes these clothes so fabulous!
“Stop and smell the Rose, buy MJ”

My little girls giggles remind me of Matilda Jane, because every morning I wake up to the sound of those happy giggles looking at which pretty dress they get to wear that day. It makes every morning a happy one with a little bit of surprise.. almost like a mini Christmas every day.. it definitely helps keep them in good spirits while Daddy is so far away.. it’s the little things that make it easier on them!!

Adriana Winfrey - January 10, 2014 - 9:32 am

Stephanie Casto - January 10, 2014 - 9:28 am

Out of the box…I know….but Springtime is what sings Matilda Jane to me. MJC literally sings all of the best of spring to me all year long. The birds, the green trees, the beautiful flowers, the joy of children playing outside. Just sings to me. I can put Maci in MJC all winter and feel sunshine pour out. Spring is where it’s at.

Sonya Bowling - January 10, 2014 - 9:27 am

MJ reminds me of the innocence of childhood. All the kids I see wearing them look so carefree and happy. How much better would our world be to live life like an innocent child???

love - January 10, 2014 - 9:27 am

Just left my picture on your FB page. It is of 17 month old Evelyn Joy sharing some sugar cane with her new friend on our family of 11’s recent trip to Uganda, Africa. We had a New Year’s party for a little village that we love there. She and her twin, Emelia Love remind me of Matilda Jane–adventurous and loving, sweet and sassy, compassionate and giving, wild and free!

Charity Irwin - January 10, 2014 - 9:27 am

Wow! What a fabulous contest!

Amy McKay - January 10, 2014 - 9:22 am

My Grandmother, Helen Alene who died of breast cancer 16 yrs ago, was a quilter. She made me several quilts and blankets, even my baby quilt, of little girls in dresses with different arrays of mixed matched fabrics. I guess that’s why I’m so smitten with MJ because it helps me remember her. My most favorite piece she made was a quilt of “Holly Hobby’ type cutouts from my mom and aunt’s old dresses from their childhood. Thats what I’ll be sharing with you over on FB:) Thanks for the memories Matilda Jane!!!

Jennifer Obrien - January 10, 2014 - 9:22 am

Angie Bass - January 10, 2014 - 8:50 am

A little Girls Birthday Party. The decorations are always colorful and bright, sometimes they are surprising (in a good way). You have little girl squealing and giddy with excitement. There is laughing and playing. There is sooo much personality in one room but somehow it works, somehow it always comes together. You’ve got sweetness (the treats), Color (the decorations), Imagination (the kids), It is innocent and unpredictable.

Suzanna V - January 10, 2014 - 8:18 am

Oh my goodness!! I wish I could write down every reason why this means so much to me. To say that This has touched my life is such an understatement. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!!
