Look the World in the Eye

I’ve been thinking about blogging for days. Days. But it’s you I want to blog about. Cancer is treating me fine. A few hits and misses but what can one expect. I knew I’d be sick, nauseous, and feeling like I ran a marathon or 3. But I didn’t know how much I would feel you guys surround me with your love.We had to run to the store to grab a few things. I sat in a chair, a little depressed cuz I was exhausted. The most darling blonde little girl hopped by and was wearing MJC. Instant smile. I was lucky enough to meet her mom and grandma as I was leaving. Sweetest gals. We got a ride home and the driver told us a story of a compliment we gave him a few days ago. He said it has changed his month, maybe year.I’m telling you, we are the most important part of this world. You gotta tell people when they make you smile, or just feel good. Don’t just share misery, deal with it. Share good stuff. Stuff that makes people tick and want to be better. That’s what makes us humans.I’ve always been pretty sweet. Sounds braggy but I’ve always wanted people to be happy above me. I’d rather feel the inconvenience not them. I can carry the extra load. And I would’ve never thought cancer would make me so strong. Make me feel the need to do more. To do more, more often, and better. And today… No complaints. Cancer has changed me. I’m learning so much about myself and who I want to be. It’s a good thing. -Denise

I have never seen such beautiful and original made quality of clothing in my life. I would be so greatful to win your contest. I have a daughter who would be delighted to fashion your clothing attire at her school this year!! Thank you

You are amazing!!! My mom has fought cancer since I was 8 (I’m 33), so I’ve watched what it does to people physically, mentally and emotionally. It can take it out of you! I hope and pray I will be able handle trying times in my life with the same outlook you have!! You are truly inspiring!

Lil - August 9, 2013 - 2:45 pm

What can I say? Your strength is amazing. Your words heartfelt. Hugs!

I’m so glad to hear you’re not just doing fine, but you’re sharing the love with everyone you meet. You are truly an inspiration to me. I’m cynical, sarcastic and pessimistic most of the time but you’ve just brightened my day with your sentiments above. I don’t share enough positive words with people, and almost never with strangers, but you’re right–the power of a smile or a kind word is an amazing thing. Thank you for that reminder. I hope you continue to feel the love through your recovery. Hugs to you!

Praying so hard for you Denise! I just had major surgery on my neck, and it’s been a stressful, and scary couple of weeks. But you have shown me how not to be afraid, and what grace under pressure really is, God Bless!

So many people above have posted some of the things I feel about you, Denise, and about what you wrote here. There are so many people being inspired to do more, give more, love more, share more because of you! I am in agreement with the nurse and other person who wrote about the color in the vials. That just shows that those creative genes of yours never stop working. I’ll be you were putting some of those colors together for future MJC lines. Have a great day!

Kindred Spirits. You inspire me to do more, everyday. When we give, we get so much more in return…..seeing that person’s smile from a little compliment. Ahhh, it’s heaven. 🙂 Building people up so that they know they are special, unique and worth the time means everything to them. I hope you continue to feel the love and support we have for you!

Happiness is not so much in having as sharing. We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

I’ve been buying loads of MJC for 6 years and have always been a big fan. With this post, I’ve become an even bigger fan. You really are some kind of special. You find the inspiration in cancer. You even enjoy the color in the blood sample tubes. Who does that? You have shown so many people that you can find the positive in any experience. And you have inspired me to get a long overdue check up and ask for a pelvic ultrasound. Even in your struggles, you are a beacon of hope. Thank you for sharing your light with us. Sending you healing thoughts & prayers.

Denise – Thank you so much for sharing. I’ve always been so terrified of cancer. Praise the Lord I’ve been healthy so far. But you’ve given me a new perspective on Cancer. Its amazing to hear you so brave, so focused on everything around you. It gives me hope for myself and others if we ever had to face this. It gives me courage. It gives me strength. Thank you for that. Thank you for you!

Denise, we are all praying! If you are not familiar with Ashley Hackshaw (Lil Blue Boo) I wanted to share this with you. This will make you laugh, cry, and kick cancers ass! The Rite of passage video is gut wrenching though.

The whole blog is totally inspiring but having been an ICU nurse for about 15 + years, I have NEVER seen blood collection tubes as beautiful. Your picture is so beautiful. I just stared at it & am so in aw over your ability to see beauty in all things. You are so amazing Denise how you see the world.
