Last week Lynette sent this out to the Matilda Jane Team. Her words are so great and I can’t seem to find any right now, so this feels right.
A Message from Lynette ~
“Words are funny things. Sometimes they just all come together and sharing exactly what you want to share is just simple! This isn’t one of those times but I’ll try my best. A little over three years ago Denise sat me down and insisted that if I didn’t hire someone to help me with my work load she was going to go to the tanning salon and find me someone, she did that to me once before. She suggested her sister-in-law Chelsa and my first reaction was, “Oh no, working with family is tricky and often times doesn’t turn out so well.” But when I met Chelsa and I saw that amazing smile and her sparkly bright eyes shared her inner confidence I knew she was my perfect MJC partner! Right away she would “arm wrestle” me for work I was reluctant to give up. She jumped in with both feel and made such an impact on me and all of the MJC family.
A couple months ago Chelsa chose to take a step away from work and focus on her health. Her battle with cancer needed more of her time and energy. This was a big step for her because she is so committed to helping me and to the piece of MJC she takes care of, not to mention she thinks she can do it “all”. We have all missed seeing her each day, but it was the right choice. Recently Chelsa had to make an even more difficult choice. But, just like with everything she does, she did everything she could to make sure this decision was the right decision. Matilda Jane has been her second home for years but she has chosen to leave her position indefinitely. We talked and talked and she kept saying let everyone know how much they are loved and how blessed she is for the many meaningful relationships Matilda Jane has brought into her life.
Words are funny things and when it comes to sharing how much this amazing friend has touched my life there are just not enough. I know you all feel the same way and Matilda Jane has forever been bettered because of this special lady.”
Chelsa left us last night. She cherished all the signs of support you continued to show her through her battle with breast cancer. (Here is her story.) The cards, flowers, pictures and messages gave her a deep knowing we are all in her corner and love her dearly. We all want to do something, anything, to let her family know we care, to let them know how amazing Chelsa was. We have set up a college fund for Michael and Andrew at http://www.gofundme.com/7ga46s?preview=1
Thank you in advance for all your thoughts and prayers. I will post later today about the service once we finalize details.
