Grandparents are the best, I wish I could have known my grandma more but she was killed by a drunkdriver when I was 2 and my grandpa did his best to take over her roll, even trying to buy me clothing and dolls. He passed away of cancer when I was 15. I got lucky and lived by him for 2 years and went to his house often because he has a VCR and we didn’t. Oh and he always had candybars in the bottom drawer of his fridge, he always knew when we came over because he would be missing candy.

I grew up across the street from my Grandparents on a small dirt road. They had a farm so every summer I was able to spend everyday with them feeding pigs, snapping peas, shucking corn, and anxiously waiting to see if the baby chicks had hatched yet. Every year, against my Grandmother’s wishes, Grandpa would let a batch of eggs stay in the chicken coop just so each grandchild could have a chick for the summer. It was such a wonderful time in my life!

Awww…this made me think of some of my favorite memories of my grandparents! Man I miss them! Mostly my grandmas hugs…so soft and squishy…thanks for sparking some great memories

I LOVE this post because my greatest joy in life is being a grandmother! I want our grandchildren to have the best memories about Grammie and Papa … and coming to our house … and doing stuff with us! I love to surprise them all … you are so right … the unexpected is the very best! And I ADORE using the candid photos people send in … real kids in real life wearing MJC! I also adore the professional shots with the super great props (shoes, background props, etc.), but the model search is totally awesome!

Oh Denise! This made me cry- happy tears that is…. I lost my Papa a little over a year ago and my grandma was just moved to a nursing home from a stroke. They sound just like your grandparents- it just brings back a whole lotta love- so thank you:) I love your ideas about the share the love- cuz my mom truly deserves a pick me up taking care of my grandma and retiring from teaching in may- she would be totally blown away! I cant wait for her to meet you at art fair- as she is my date!!:) awesome post!!!

Happiness is so the little things in life …the best ones are surprises and grandparents are the best …my daughter is having a sleepover tonight at mammys ( my mom) and seeing her excitement is my happiness …thanks for sharing the stories of your grandparents
