I am proud to say I think I have graduated from the Beginner level to Easy. Yup, I have pretty much mastered the singing on Rock Band. And I am quite proud of myself. Joe says I am good. Gabe and David, well they just give me strange looks.

So let’s chat about 435.  We are just starting to put the details together but for those of you who needs to plan ahead, the quick lowdown is, Preview Party is Friday, June 25 from 6-9. Kids are welcomed. The art fair will be Saturday, June 26 from 9-4.  Saturday night from 6-? we will have a get together at my house, adults only.  Yes, these are pretty vague but hey, you got the dates and the times…details to come soon.

Now let’s chat about who’s gonna win the trip for 2 to 435. I’ve racked my brain on this, trying to come up with a great contest idea and I keep coming back to the same as last year. Why change a good thing, huh?  We will start taking submissions via mail (not email) on what Matilda Jane Clothing is to you. It is quite vague (my word of the day) but it really can be anything.  The contest will run April 15-30. I will post more details this week.

Okay, I know I said I would post pics of my house…but I feel dumb about it. What happens if I think it is super cool and you think I suck?  I’m so dumb that way. I need to build up the courage then I will…maybe!

Until later..have a a great Sunday. My boys are upstairs singing away, David went for a run and me? Well, I think I’m gonna go do some laundry and try to find an excuse to go to Target!

Emma's*Mommy - March 21, 2010 - 7:46 pm

Just wanted to say that I got my “first installment” of Hammond Bay last week and your mission statement totally summed it up…it just makes me HAPPY!!!…and my daughter loves it because it is soo comfortable.
Also, I can’t imagine why you would ever feel nervous able what anyone here thinks about your new house. Everyone on this site obviously loves your taste and style or we wouldn’t be here…I’m sure we will all just be envious when you decide to show off your new home.

RachelR - March 21, 2010 - 7:17 pm

April W. - March 21, 2010 - 2:53 pm

I made my {just for fun} trip to Target already! No excuses needed! 😀

Happiness Delivered Daily

I heard a loud bang and was completely puzzled let alone a bit freaked. I sat there for a few moments, well actually laid there and heard it again. I was a little scared, sat up and looked around only to realize it was 12:26p.m..  Yes, and at that moment I decided it would probably be a pretty good time to start my day. I rushed down stairs only to find the audio guys banging on the door. Oh, what a great day, sleep until early afternoon and get a TV. Yup, we finally have a TV.  Love today.  And what is almost as good as today, was yesterday. On a fluke I went out last night. Jenny called and said who s the one person you always wanted to see in concert. I sat silent but totally thought about New Kids on the Block. Well, this concert turned out to be on a completely different scaled with much older man. Good Ole, Willie Nelson. Oh ya…and I even shook his hand. Hilarious on all aspects.

And here we have Gabe practicing his Hanging Tough moves. Sorry I totally dissed you on the house pics. Blame it on sleeping in way too late…and I’m getting bored of my camera. Tomorrow, just don’t hold your breathe.

Do  you have a clue how excited we are getting about 435. It is gonna be so fun. i really want to have a party here Saturday night. I just have to convince a few more people it would be a good idea. And find a babysitter!

Now for those of you in the northern Atlanta area, I kindly suggest you go see my cousin Mamie in Marietta. Her shop is called Miss Mamie’s Cupcakes and  she does promise “Happiness Delivered Daily”.  Okay, she really says “Baked” but hey, she hand you the best tasting baked goods, so technically she delivers it. Man, I so need to steal that tag line.  It’s darn good.  And my gosh, what a fantastic place to have a kids birthday party. Imagine all the kids covered in frosting, you could get the cutest photos!

Okay, time to watch LOST…though I am getting quite irritated by it.  For real, let’s get to the point huh?

Stay tuned cuz we are gonna have the 435 Contest real soon..

Kim from Griffith - March 20, 2010 - 2:32 pm

I have am the BIGGEST Willie fan you will ever know!! Ask me one day for my story, I have a few and oh…love Willie. Know all his songs by heart:)

WhitleyKate's mom - March 17, 2010 - 8:06 pm

OMG!! NKOTB!!! My friend and I traveled from Columbus, Indiana to St. Louis, Missouri to see them in concert a year and a half ago! What a fun roadtrip! Lady Gaga opened, and I hadn’t even heard of her then. Then my husband got tickets to take me when they were at Verizon. He was less-than-thrilled with the concert, but I was like a teenager again!

We made a road trip to Whitley County today (3 hour)for my son’s 4th grade Indiana History county report. He chose Whitley county since that’s his sis’s name. We were sooo close to Ft. Wayne! I told my husband maybe we should take a side trip and see where it all happens! So that didn’t happen, but it was a thought, right?

Sari - March 17, 2010 - 8:03 pm

Hi Denise,

Can I just thank you SO much for yet another amazing new line? 🙂 I tried my Cher dress on for the 1st time last night (why I have waited I don’t know. . .) I am SO in love! And the Yoga pants. . . I will LIVE in those. . . And that’s just my stuff! (Well. . . some of it!) We had compliments from every person who saw Gigi walking the preschool halls today in the Sprite leggings (she wears leggings like their pants but on her it works! 🙂 But I thought “you ain’t seen nothin’ yet”! We have the world’s best nanny. . . we’ll bring her with us & she can babysit for you for 435! I’m not kidding! Have a GREAT night!

jenniV - March 17, 2010 - 6:26 pm

Tj Aneca - March 17, 2010 - 5:57 pm

Once again, coolest house in FW!!! My late husband would have FLIPPED for it, I just know it. (He was an architect, so already seeing the concrete floors, he would have loved it.)

Katie M. - March 17, 2010 - 11:17 am

oh man- I need to go to Atlanta and befriend your cousin- those look incredible- I can only imagine what they taste like!
Ok- if the background of Gabes photo (who is adorable of course) is your new place- then Im loving it- especailly the green nesting tables with the red and white lamp and vase of tulips- so bright, colorful and perfect for welcoming spring! Oh and that chair- oh my- I want to nap in that chair!

Day to the Oh - March 17, 2010 - 10:31 am

Hey, D! I am so glad you told me about your cuz! Marietta is supadupa close to me, so I am going to make a point of paying her a lit’l visit! Lauri - March 17, 2010 - 5:07 am

Cynthia - March 17, 2010 - 4:26 am

LOST – I was totally thrown of by James being a cop…WTH??

christine - March 17, 2010 - 3:31 am

My first apartment, I lived without a TV for 2 years until a friend brought over his black & white 🙂
I remember I read ALOT of books.
Look at the little sneak peeks of your house. It looks like you have already gotten it together! PS Awesome floor.

sashadvm - March 16, 2010 - 11:21 pm

April W. - March 16, 2010 - 10:09 pm

We are 3 hours from Atlanta…we will for SURE check it out and say “hi” to her for you! 🙂
We have noooo cupcake bakeries here in South Carolina. (that I know of)

Yay for your t.v.! I can’t live without mine. I have one going over my oversized, upgraded, jetted tub next week!

Melanie H. - March 16, 2010 - 8:49 pm

Haven’t watched tonight’s Lost, but for real, it is making me craaaazy!
And I totally think “Happiness Delivered Daily” would be a MOST fitting tagline for MJC! Oh the JOY that follows when a big ol’ box with one of your pretty stickers arrives on the doorstep!

Jennifer - March 16, 2010 - 8:47 pm

Your house looks gorgeous! And those cupcakes look SO yummy!
I wish I was closer, I would love love to come to a party at your house or better yet, be your babysitter! Gabe and my son Cooper could get into some FUN trouble together I promise! xo

Beautifulclothing - March 16, 2010 - 7:54 pm

If I lived closer I would be happy to babysit for you…Darn.

K Squared Mommy - March 16, 2010 - 7:53 pm

I’m beginning to feel really lost when I watch LOST–I guess it’s aptly named. 😉

mom2P&B - March 16, 2010 - 7:23 pm

Super excited to experience my first time at 435!!! And, LOST….just finished watching it! Gotta love Sawyer! Crazy stuff!!

A Bunch of Fun

No excuses. I just keep finding more stuff to put away and move. For real, I am never buying another thing again. Okay, unless I go to Target! Why is it everything looks better at Target. I could seriously get cleaning supplies anywhere but when I get them at target they are just prettier! What is it?

The sun just may come out this week so I’ll take some pics of 5650 and maybe even Sam.  Speaking of  Sam, and not the cat…..Sam @ 435  went to see her cutest boyfriend in the world this week. So if you are wondering why you are not getting a response or waiting for a blog prize she’s in love in California. I’m certain next week she’ll be sending you some love.

You guessed it 4410 is my old house number and 5650 is the new.  The 2 winners would be mommy dearest (and thanks for that name… now all I can think about is my hate of wire hangers) and ella’s mom. Just shoot Sam an email with your info, samm@matildajaneclothing.com.  And heck how about key tag 586, 1234, and 4321 email Sam also, but be sure to include a pic of your keychain somewhere cool.

Thank you guys for all the fantastic pics! It’s so fun to see how you all mix and match. Did you know I’m actually having a Trunk Show this Friday. Well, I am not…but it is at my house. Rebekah is the Jane but I’m hosting, kinda confusing but I am so excited and so nervous. I’m a dork around too many people.  It is the best incentive to get my house unpacked though!! Joe is home sick today so I suppose I should put him to work too, huh? Though David gave him strict order to rest and read ALL day. Cleaning can be relaxing.

Back to work. I hate putting away tools. that is so David’s job!

Lisa - March 20, 2010 - 6:28 pm

I have to agree about Target, I love to shop there! Everything does seem prettier than other stores.

[…] to brag a little bit!!  So I sent a few of these pics to Matilda Jane and they used one on their blog!  I know its not that big of a deal but for a teeny tiny moment I felt famous!!!  LOL!  […]

Matilda Jane » Sandi Gentry Photography - March 17, 2010 - 2:17 pm

[…] Ohh-la-la!  You can see Piper’s pic on the Matilda Jane Blog.  Check it out here […]

liz - March 17, 2010 - 6:06 am

Where are those adorable big flower headbands/clips in the girls hair from????

christina - March 16, 2010 - 9:29 am

Awe! Thanks for putting my girls photo on the blog Denise! xoxo

christine - March 16, 2010 - 6:32 am

I couldn’t agree more about Target and I love their new Liberty line. Cute boxes, cute bedding, just fun. They have such neat things to get organized and great clearance too!
I just love all the new photos!

Monika - March 15, 2010 - 10:15 pm

Wow, just read Rebekah’s blog… sounds like it will be an amazing fundraising event at your house! Movie crew included! Now there you really have a reason to unpack, lol!

Beautifulclothing - March 15, 2010 - 6:47 pm

Oh my gosh! I so agree with you Denise. Target makes my day once a week. When I am not there I think about it. It’s an addiction. That last dress is beautiful. I want it! Hope that it will be available to buy soon.

Tracy - March 15, 2010 - 6:28 pm

Oh how I love my new hangers! Target online has Natural Wood hangers 30 for $25 and then those Non-slip hangers are a Dream! You can find them at Target, Kohl’s, anywhere – just Google them. They had them in black at Costco and Sam’s Club for something like 50 for $20. Beautiful and I NEVER thought that I would get so excited about a closet full of new hangers, but I SO did…
Not as excited as my MJC deliveries, but they look so pretty on my new hangers!! 🙂

April W. - March 15, 2010 - 2:24 pm

Target IS love! When I don’t want to sit at home or clean I go to Target….get a diet coke, an icee and a bag ‘O popcorn for the kids and we just walk around…Things don’t change enough for me in there but it’s just a comforting store. Can’t explain it. No matter where we travel….Target is home. The different lay outs remind us of our favorite Target’s back in So. Cal. We pretend we are back home. Out West.
I can’t wait to get all of the pretty Hammond Bay items. I have literally bought EVERYTHING in the last month or so. Hopefully, the Wendy dress comes back. That is the only thing I don’t have yet. (fingers crossed)
Take care!

momof2.5 - March 15, 2010 - 2:00 pm

i’m with sara-i have got to have the dress in the last picture! when will we be able to buy it?

Ella's Mom - March 15, 2010 - 1:50 pm

yay!I can’t believe I won! Thank you for your generosity Denise! So excited…

Sara - March 15, 2010 - 12:10 pm

I NEED that fuscia dress in the last picture. Is that the one that was made for the photo contest? Will it ever be available for sale?!? It’s glorious!

gran - March 15, 2010 - 11:42 am

Just went to the website to learn about Hope’s adoption. What an amazing and wonderful story. I was not surprised to read that you had already had a part in the story. Have a great time!

Brandie - March 15, 2010 - 10:29 am

Love the pics and love that Christina Anglum’s photo is up! Sweet baby girl, Elle! :-)I hope I get one of the Key Fob’s! This is fun stuff.

Rebekah Hubley - March 15, 2010 - 10:22 am

Denise- I am so excited for Friday night! I can’t imagine you being a ‘dork’ in front of people. 🙂 It is going to be so much fun that you will forget that there are even people at your house… Are your husband and boys going to be there? My boys are coming for at least part of the time… See you Friday!!!

saoirse's mom - March 15, 2010 - 8:23 am

i agree everything is cuter at target! love the pics!

Michelle Huesgen - March 15, 2010 - 8:19 am

I would not touch the tools if I were you…your right…that’s David’s job…tell him I said so
