The key

Wake up late, work carpool, McDonald’s calls my name, run to Kinko’s then to Walmart,  stress out, deliver some goods to 435, back to Kinko’s, home to print out documents, worry about Goliath, off to JoAnne’s, back to 435 then to drop off DVD’s to be made, get lost, find the DVD place,  really stressing in need of a nap, wake up at 2, run to CVS, back home, run to Von Maur, pick up Joe, pick up Gabe, head to Walmart (too cheap to buy movie theater candy) and then we all head to the movies. And that is pretty much my day today. Oh, but the key? No key. Get out of the movies, come home, no key, call around, go to Dan’s, come home, still no luck, call locksmith and wait at House of Hainan.  And now?  I’m tired and really need to work but guess what? I wanted to share a picture with you and then I am off to lay in bed and just watch TV. Sounds good.

As I re-read the post above I realize if I was actually running instead of driving I would be much skinnier! Oh, and my new fave song from Go Dog Go. It’s an oldie but I just rediscovered it. Click here: Friends

And rumor on the street is a huge whale of a sale is to be announced soon. We’ll give you a heads up but next week sometime.  We’ve got Hammond Bay coming in and need to make some room. Oh, and I have told you how much I love Hammond Bay.  The HomeGrown Collection from 2008 has been my fave for such a long time…I adored the Ginger Knot dress in that collection, but let me tell you, Pepper from Hammond Bay knocks her socks off!!

I just adore her. I love that it ties in the back and I love that the apron is removable. Love it. Okay, sorry for stroking my ego… But for real, my first knots had removable aprons.  They buttoned on but after making the first 100 or so my hands killed from hand-sewing all the buttons. I had wanted to bring them back for a few seasons now and finally with Hammond Bay I got my wish. I hope you like.

Be sure to check back later this weekend for an update on the Whale of a Sale. I’ll post details Sunday, but you can also expect our first ever e-mail newsletter to arrive in your inbox in about a week with details on the sale, Hammond Bay, and the payment security enhancements we’ve made (we are so excited about them!).  Until then, have a great and peaceful (I’m hoping for one for both me and you!) weekend.

We <3 the HomeGrown collection, too…my girls still wear it all the time! Remember the Knot of the Month dresses!!! In fact, one of my girls wore the Violet Knot today & the other one wore the Sunshine Knot today! Love them!

Tamara - January 15, 2010 - 9:58 pm

Denise, I always love MJC, but I’m with you. I haven’t loved a line quite this much since Homegrown. The blue and green are so fresh and right up our alley. I sort of wish this little baby in my belly was another girl. You have some cute baby boy Mighty Acorns up your sleeve for us too, right? I can’t have my new one feeling left out of the MJC goodness, LOL. 😉

Kate S. - January 15, 2010 - 9:38 pm

Oh my goodness…I’ve been saving my pennies for this, but I’ll have to try harder. Too much great stuff! And a sale, as well. What’s a girl to do! 🙂

Holly's Mama - January 15, 2010 - 9:28 pm

I love all the new stuff! The ruffle shorts are TDF!!!! Also, the dress on the girl next to the ruffle bike shorts girl is gorgeous! The Ginger Knot is one of my fave dresses you ever made too and my first MJ purchase. I still have it because I cannot bare to part with it!!!

What wrong with Goliath???

Sorry you’ve had a bad day.. Capt and diet coke/blankie and sleep!

jami - January 15, 2010 - 7:49 pm

AHHHHHH (that was a scream), that is such a beautiful dress. The Ladies dress, I mean. I have been dying for you to focus on the adults a little more, because every time you do, you hit it out of the park. SO IN LOVE!!!! Thank you.

The word is..

Word on the street is you all want to know about these cute ties. Well, I am very partial to my boys as you all know. So I just had to make some ties and tees so they could be in the shoot. And of course, I had to make a few more for your boys. The tees will be ready for Collection One, but ties not till Collection Two.

It’s 10:15 pm and all David wants me to do is run the the store and get some Red Vines. Bu you know what..I’m just  gonna keep on working. No time for Red Vines. Ha, I only had time to go to McDonald’s once today as opposed to my 4-5x yesterday. I’m getting so excited for Conference.  So many fun little details.

Talk about love. These two are the sweetest brother/sister duo. HE came to watch her as Michelle was shooting. You could just see his eyes light up looking at his lil’s sis. Of course we had to include him in the shoot. He is way to handsome not too.

Okay, I was just playing (well, working) and I realized I need to show yu the back of my new fave, Layla..

kara - February 19, 2010 - 1:32 am

So great to see you. I am very happy for you about your house. Kind of surprised you are “not spiritual”. Have always thought you and the big guy were truly connected due to your golden touch and rather larger than life approach to life and the over all journey.

Sobbed when I read the blog postings re: grandma and goliath. They are in a better place.

Vegas was great. Met many wonderful and talented people. Sadly, Mike and I fought the whole way home. He still just wants me to “get a job”. I know you will never know what it feels like to be unsupported. That is one of the many reasons why YOU are so successful. Love You!

Liberiben - February 12, 2010 - 9:47 am

Ahh, how could I have forgotten Anthropologie, the holy grail of my closet. I have a 15% off coupon for my Birthday, just waiting to be used.

Day to the Oh - January 19, 2010 - 2:28 pm

Oh, my goodness! That Layla is killing me! I had sheets in practically identical same fabric as the top of it when I was a little girl (70’s ish). No joke!!! They are still in the back of the linen closet somewhere. This line screams nostalgia for me. I did a photo shoot with my girls right next door to Seaside last summer too! YUMMY post!!! xo

susie reed - January 17, 2010 - 7:08 pm

Oh my goodness, Seaside, and a blue and green lace dress…just doesn’t get any better than that. Both are favorites of mine. We go to Seaside every year, so glad our son and daughter in law chose to marry there, it’s a great vacation spot for all of our family, now. All the new clothes make me long for Spring! Just beautiful, Denise.

lesia foerster - January 16, 2010 - 11:13 pm

The new colors are so refreshing! Brittany is so gorgeous!!

*Twinkle*Toes* - January 14, 2010 - 10:02 pm

Ohhhhh my oh~! Loving everything!!!

Nicole P. - January 14, 2010 - 5:11 pm

Ooh, I LOVE Layla! My daughter is going to look so sweet in that (now, if only the weather would turn spring like). I love the lace and the striped leggings. And, my husband said he would happily wear A Mighty Acorn shirt–now if only I can convince my 13-year old.

5AmericansInEngland - January 14, 2010 - 3:29 pm

Yahhh…shirts for my boys!!! I love the dress too…the one w/ the lace skirt! My little girl would loovee that!! Yknow…I used to live about an hour from seaside…no joke, right on the bay, and now that you are there we live in England….If we were there, I would have soooo brought my little girl out that day…I was soo bummed. I said “are you serious…we used to live right there…right by Destin.” oh well… the shots look great though!!!! I can’t wait to see the whole collection. 🙂

jami - January 14, 2010 - 2:15 pm

WOW!! Just when I think you’ve outdone yourself the season before.
So Fresh, So sweet!!! So exciting.

Incognito - January 14, 2010 - 12:34 pm

Denise, I am loving the buttons on the back of Layla… and honestly just Layla itself – what a sweet addition! What I SUPER love though, is that precious, scrumptious skirt!!!

Tracy - January 14, 2010 - 12:17 pm

I love the green! We planted a whole pot of grass last night to get spring in our house sooner and I can’t wait to order that soft twirly skirt and wispy Layla and those scrumtious leggings that I saw yesterday and and and….

Sharon - January 14, 2010 - 10:35 am

OH!! I so love all the fresh colors!!! All the greens… LOVE EM!!! My girls for sure NEED that skirt in the first pic!!!

skm squared - January 14, 2010 - 9:54 am

oh! now i’m wishing i had a boy! maybe i’ll have to get something for my nephew. and seeing all these sneek peaks, i don’t know how i’m going to stay within a budget! yikes!

K Squared Mommy - January 14, 2010 - 9:28 am

I LOVE that skirt on the top picture!!! My little one picked the Layla out as her favorite in the picture yesterday. 🙂 I hope you had fun in Watercolor! We love to go to Watercolor and Seaside. Kellee’s picture that was on the blog in May was made in Seaside. 🙂

Amy Mann - January 14, 2010 - 9:14 am

I love the new blog and new the line..I think these pics were also might be taken at one of my favorite places on earth…Watercolor near Seaside??? I thought one of your early posts looked like a house from that area. Have you ever seen such great color and architecture? IT is a great match for MJC. We were married at Seaside over ten years ago… it is definitely time for another visit…Hope you are well Denise and gang.
Amy (Pittsburgh)

Denise - January 14, 2010 - 7:01 am

I just realized you said “our” wow..I feel so cool now…we love that place. Of course we ate there. the boys that work there are so nice, they even offered to let us borrow their iron, ours broke. I must admit, we almost borrowed a hoola hoop for the shoot, but we found one of our own!!

Denise - January 14, 2010 - 6:59 am

I know..I know…but we added them last minute (past ddl) and production was already under way for Collection One so we didn’t have a choice. if we wanted to make them they had to be in Collection Two.

Michelle - January 14, 2010 - 6:11 am

That Layla sure is cute. But my 2 year old would rip that delicate layer right off in 2 seconds… bummer. Oh well I’m sure I can find plenty of other adorable things to replace it. I love that skirt. Can’t tell if it is a couple of skirts or just layers. But its cute. And I am even more stoked to see a daddy shirt. Now there can be no complalining!!!

Amber - January 14, 2010 - 1:17 am

I love those green tights and the skirt in the first pic – so cute! And big-boy shirts are so awesome!

tree*head - January 13, 2010 - 10:31 pm

PS …now Brae and Daddy can be twinkies with their matching tees 🙂

tree*head - January 13, 2010 - 10:30 pm

Ahhh totally feeding my craving…but why wait to release ties on the 2nd release on 3/15? Easter is 4/4 and I’d love the littles to coordinate! Please rethink 😉

Monika - January 13, 2010 - 10:14 pm

Oh, I’m in love with the skirt in the first picture!! Somebody wipe my drool for me, please =)!

Stacy - January 13, 2010 - 10:09 pm

Can’t believe my favorite children’s line shot right here in our own backyard. Hope you got to visit our Pizza by the Sea in Watercolor during your visit. Can’t wait to see all the pics!

Melissa - January 13, 2010 - 10:01 pm

Excited about the ties, but bummed that they won’t be available in time for Easter. 🙁

Lil - January 13, 2010 - 9:52 pm

I know exactly what you guys want..could it be a little bit of color? Well, Elijah worked his tail  off on this amazing new blog for me. And you are not even seeing it. It beautifully gorgeous but..cuz I am the picky thing like I am. I really think it belongs with the Fall collection.  And Spring…well, it is just bright, clean, cheery and a little bit preppy. Well, in a MJC sort of way. If any of you remember my dear friend and past TK, Meagan Neer, well, it screams her name.

And a bit of color for you. Raise your hand if you want more… Hey, isn’t that some type of Bon Jovi song?
