PhotoLove Winner

Oh happy day! We are back at work and it feels so good. I loved the 5 day break, but after being sick 3 days last week AND THEN 5 days off…well, I began to miss this place. Being here is ‘the norm’ for me and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’m sure you guys are thinking “shut up Sam, get to the winner of PhotoLove!” So here you go, because you can never have too much courage…

Miss Mallory Buck with her beautiful and inspiring photo of “Courageous”

This photo makes me feel….safe. And full of appreciation. And hope.

I think we could all use an extra scoop of that good stuff this year, don’t you think?

And I know the holidays are almost over, but we still have so much to celebrate. I’ve been pinching myself this month because I’m so ‘rich’ but not in the way you need to be to win Monopoly, but in the way that I have a boyfriend that keeps me safe, friends that keep me happy, and a home that keeps me warm. And these past 5 days have been great reminders of why my life is truly full of love. Serious, it’s chocked full of it! And I hope you guys have had the same warm & fuzzy realizations too. 🙂 Just in time for the New Year, I hope this feeling lasts! Oh, and I’ve chosen a New Year’s Resolution too! Well a few…. But here they are:

1. No more complaining. What do I have to complain about anyway?

2. EAT BETTER. I’ve been saying this for a while but I need to “Eat to live, not live to eat.”

3. THE JAR! I think one of you gave me this idea a couple weeks ago,  but we are going to write something we are thankful for, or just happy about each day and put it in an old mason jar. And we will read them all at the end of the year! And we will feel ‘rich’ all over again!

4. Family. I need to work on spending more time with mine. I’m great at spending time with other family’s though!

On that note, thank you for the great year we’ve had. I’m so thankful for your support and love everyday. I know Denise never dreamed of us growing so much so fast, and being filled with such GREAT, sometimes UNPREDICTABLE, qualities that aren’t like your run of the mill clothing company. But I know she AND ALL OF US are quite proud to be apart of it.

LOVE,

SAM

This was the one that stick in my mind from the first time I saw it! And, though they were all very special and beautiful, this was my favorite! Huge congrats to Mallory and all the ladies that shared their wonderful images!

I love this photo and it is so close to my heart as my dad retired recently from being a firefighter for over 30 years. He is always asked if he will ever work again and he says, “how could I have another job, when I had the most rewarding job that anyone could have”. It seems that firefighters never get the honor and credit that they deserve risking their lives to save so many others. There are also so many health risks associated with the job. Congratulations and thank you for paying tribute to a profession with such awesome people, like my dad!!

This is wonderful. I find this especially touching. Firefighters in a town near me were killed and wounded Christmas eve in an ambush when going to answer a call for a house fire. True heros.
