Sparking creativity in little ones is one of our favorite things to do … I love doing it in a variety of ways, from movement (who doesn’t love a good dance party ?), to story time, and of course, through a little crafting … or shall we say witchcrafting this month! Magic truly is everywhere, especially in the eyes of a child, and something as simple as paper can soon become a magical hat that travels around the world in just minutes. So join us as we bring a little Halloween fun into your home with the sweetest MJC witch hats.
First things first, below you will find three sweet options for your very own witch hat so be sure to download and print out the patterns you fancy. After you trim the edges of your prints and connect the two pieces together, it is then time to get your favorite ribbons, baubles and more to add your special touch to the design. You might notice below that I even used a few of our spare MJC buttons to help adorn the sweet little orange number. The options are endless, and it is so simple yet so sweet … nothing but treats here!
Whether you use these as a little decor around your home, top a pumpkin or even add a little elastic to make your very own head piece, we hope this little craft will allow you and your little one some time together and spark a little more magic in your day. Be sure to comment below with your favorite fall festivities for a chance to win one of these sweet paper hats and an MJC gift card … Enjoy!

Ciao for now,
My granddaughters and I love to bake together and during the holidays we like to bake and bring goodies to the fire station. We also get $5 gift cards to Starbucks and make homemade muffins for the mailman and the garbage men. I like teaching them to respect and care for other people. We also carry water bottles in the car and offer to people asking for donations at the stop lights. Every little positive gesture your kids see you do makes them more aware to spread kindness themselves.
I absolutely love this time of year! The weather, the holidays, gathering with friends…all of it. One of my favorite things to do is baking and cooking with my girls. I love packing up sweet treats to share with our friends!

Hay rides, haunted houses, and carving pumpkins
We love just being outside and enjoying the cooler weather! From fall festivals to football games.. and of course the pumpkin patch!
Living in SoCal means we don’t have the traditional fall with changing leaves and chilly weather. We have hot days and cooler nights and our favorite thing to do is have a bonfire at the beach at night!
One of our favorite fall activities is to visit my hometown in the blue ridge mountains. To view the changing of leaves, Apple picking. As a family we also enjoy going to a pumpkin farm or two!
My favorite fall activity is apple picking and pumpkin patches with the kids!
I am a photographer, so my favorite fall activity is taking pictures of my girls in their Matilda Jane outfits with pumpkins 🙂
I love dressing up for Halloween and it’s even more fun with kids. This year we let our 3 1/2 year old pick our costumes. She decided on Belle, Chip foe her baby brother, I get the honor of Mrs. Potts and Papa will be the beast. It also tests my creativity and sewing skills to sew what we can create because homemade costumes are the best.
Fall is the best time of year with all the changing of the leaves, and crisp changes to our weather. Getting to make caramel apples and pumpkin pie…I’m Drooling just typing it! We absolutely love the festivities that surround Halloween; campfires and Sweet Spooky Bedtime Stories! It is the all the memories that we make that make the seasons great! ??????
My favorite Fall activities are brisk morning walks with the kids, cool nights watching my sons play football, lighting pumpkin candles and baking cookies with my daughter, and our annual visits to the pumpkin patch. Great time of year for family memories and my favorite kind of weather! We also celebrate our youngest little mans birthday this time of year-which is extra extra special after his scary birth!!!!
We aren’t in Wisconsin so short fall season. For the 5-6 weeks before Halloween we visit different pumpkin patches and celebrations. Kids love the hayrides, jumping on hay bales, duck races, corn mazes and just making memories. Fall is my fav❤

Super dooper cute! My little fancy witch will love binging out her special hat!
As for the family, we especially love autumn. Beautiful weather, colors, apple cider/hot cocoa, cardis/ fun layers, and lots of time spent having family bond fires. Just catching up with eachother and making smores or roasted weenies. Then carving our special little(or big) pumpkins we picked out at the local pumpkin patch. When that’s done, bake the seeds or dry them out to plant them. All as a unit. Together. That’s what I love!
We love hosting fall parties… hayrides, Apple bobbing, campfire. We love having our friends and family around for the most beautiful time of the year here in southern IL.
Pumpkin Patch, bon fires, the leaves changing colors, hot apple cider!! These are a few of my favorite things ❤

There is a house in our community that is called the pumpkin house and every year the community gets together and carves over 3000 pumpkins to display at the house. It brings everyone together and it’s so much fun for the kids. It seems to grow each year and we love going! Look up the pumpkin house in Ceredo-Kenova, West Virginia – it’s so cool 🙂

Bob fires, s’mores, pumpkin patch, fall festivals, long car rides down windy mountain roads looking at the beautiful colored leaves, home cooking, and evening snuggles!
We love dressing in Halloween clothes and pjs the whole month of October. We started early this year, my kids were itching so pjs started in September. We just got a cool front and I’m looking forward to warm coffee in the afternoons over the usual iced. We are loving the MJ Halloween top that was offered for Janes. We bought one for a friend and hope you bring this back each year!! The top is precious.

The Fall season is my absolute favorite! Both of my children were born in the Fall. The decorations, food, and cooler weather bring such sweet memories to mind and now fun birthday parties each year too (this year 1st and 4th). We’ve enjoyed my little boy’s first Fall soccer season this year and then enjoying getting out to other Fall Festivals and activities afterwards as a family! This past weekend we went to our local greenhouse to pick out mums and pumpkins for our house… it was so much fun and we got some terrific pictures that will forever be cherished! I always try to dress my little girl (and myself too) in MJ for our early morning soccer games or other outings because I know we will be comfy and cute… plus looks great in pics!

We also enjoy the pumpkin patch and dressing our littles for Halloween and Fall. I can’t wait to carry on our traditions throughout the years to come.
Ever since my kids started trick or treating, Oma(my mom) would come over and we all have dinner together. After chili and caramel apples, my husband and I take the kids trick or treating and Oma and Poopy pass out candy for us. Great memories!!
Our county fair is the last week in September. For my family the fair is the kick-off of the fall season. My kids enter various baking and sewing projects, and as a family we take pumpkins and gourds from our garden as well as the canned goods we preserved over the summer for display at the fair. The whole week is a wonderful celebration of community and the bounty of the harvest time that is underway. It sets the perfect tone for tuning our hearts to the melody of gratitude as we anticipate the Thanksgiving holiday.
We love our annual Trick-or-Treating party. Halloween night friends and family who don’t live in neighborhoods come over, we eat, the dads take the kids out trick-or-treating, and the moms stay back and pass out candy. When kids come to our house they get candy from 8-10 people in one stop and it is so fun watching their surprised faces. My daughter and all the other kids Have so much fun together! It has become an awesome tradition!
