Funny how a cute new chick blogs yesterday and suddenly I’m VERY interested in posting! I gotta make sure you guys don’t forget about me after all 🙂
Want to know what I’ve been up to? Oh just an epic Fall 2013 photo shoot in Michigan along with designing a beautiful Spring 2014 all while working with Kayla on making sure Art Fair this year is EXTRAordinary! I’m a lucky gal to have a plate so full of creativity, don’t ya think.
The photo shoot up in MI was perfect. We’ve already had 3-4 shoots for the Fall Line, but we wanted to do just oooone more that mixed all the collections together and really gave you a story for it all. Well, just so you know choosing MI was PERFECT. We got to spend a day on Mackinaw Island with great friends–old and new.
We had a place to change models and then we walked a few blocks to the location and then a few blocks back. Burning calories and taking awesome photos. Eating all those calories again with pizza, fudge, and everything in between. Hanging with the sweetest group of little models. Watching our girl Kayla and one of our wonderful TK’s Lauren get all dolled up for Adult photos was pretty fabulous too. Oh! And there was a Republican Convention on the Island, so the whole place was covered with gents in suits and ties! A sight you never expect to see in Mackinaw, just ask Denise! We were all pretty intimidated until we decided Kayla NEEDED to be shot with one of these fancy men. It was pretty hilarious. As you can imagine, we had plenty of volunteers that wanted to take a pic with her!
The second day was spent at Denise’s house in Good Hart. Home sweet home. Or dream home sweet home? Love that place. It’s filled with everything that makes you smile. I hope everyone else felt that way too. Because we were a FULL house for a couple days!! I think we had a total of 15 people staying with us!? But we all fit perfectly. I think we all had our own bed even! Except for Kayla and I. But I mean, I’m not complaining about cuddling up with a model!
We built such cute sets at Denise’s home. And we even made a canopy of lights way back in her woods for a few photos. I can’t wait to see how they turned out!
And now I’m home. Back to reality. But what a wonderful reality I live in. I’m sitting in a room with a few of my best friends. And listening to The Avett Brothers like they’re going out of style. (Are they yet?!) I’m a lucky gal. I feel like I haven’t said that enough lately.
And just because you never see Denise. Here’s the only photo I got of her while we were up north a few weeks ago. We are so in love with the white trilliums that bloom in Spring. We so wanted them in the shoot this weekend.
They were mostly all pink when we went up this weekend, but I’m still hoping we got a few.
OH! And last but not least, it’s my best friends 25th birthday or as she puts it “quarter of a century” bday. Regardless, I’m planning on it being one of the best. Starting with dinner and a sleepover tonight at my house. Ha, again, how lucky am I?
