You heard right. It’s a blustery, moody blue, rainy day at the brick building today. Stormy weather. Definitely not my favorite weather, since I’m deathly afraid of tornadoes, etc. But sometimes, soooooometimes, doesn’t a good, gray day just feel right? It makes the day cozier, and leads you straight into comfy knit pants, a great book you’ve had sitting on the shelf for far too long, and my all time favorite thing, COMFORT FOOD. Oh yes, I suppose the stormy weather does have a few positives. But doesn’t everything have a silver lining if you look at it the right way? Come on, just tilt your head. I know you’ll see it.
My silver linings for today have been answering my Facebook messages and learning I’ll be traveling to Europe so, soo soon! I love it when I find a few moments to read emails, not work emails, but the fun stuff that I get with feedback from Platinum or the recent release of Secret Fields or just cute photos of your gals wearing items that I designed. (I don’t know about you, but I don’t think I’ll ever get used to saying “I DESIGNED.” I MAKE CLOTHES FOR A LIVING, WHAT?!!??!) I always take forever to go through my personal messages, but when I do, it gives me an extra skip in my step! You have no idea how much your feedback drives me. I might have gotten that from Denise? Ha, I’ve said it once before, but I’ll say it again, I read through all of our social media outlets trying to absorb your thoughts. It’s my addiction! A fun, safe one I’d like to think 🙂
Umm, where was I…. Europe. Yep, you read that correctly! I got so pumped on emails that I almost forgot to tell you about it! I’m so excited to continue with our new design tradition….the inspiration trip. OH YA! It will be Madeline and my first trip together, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Way back when, in the early ages of MJC, I was lucky enough to go to Germany with Denise, David, and Lynette. We shopped, we ate, we visited long lost friends, we talked and we shared….probably TOO much with each other. But it was the most amazing experience. I’m sure this trip will be totally different, but in a really good way. The first time it was almost more about us – as people, as friends, as family. The actual uniqueness of the country and all that good stuff came second. This time, I’ll be with Madeline who is a seasoned traveler and will be showing me the ropes and all the shopping secrets of Europe. I can’t wait! Don’t worry, I’m looking forward to sharing and eating with Madeline, too.
When I began writing this blog post, I was like…dang, I don’t have a whole lot of stuff to do today. But of course, within the couple hours it has taken me to get back to my chair and finish it, about a million things have piled up. I love this place. There’s always something creative to do or add to the list. And man do I love lists! Back to the grind for me.
