Summer Fun

tolivequoteAdventures are the best way to learn, right? When we were kids, adventure could mean something as big as a trip to the amusement park or as small as a bike ride to the park. Remember the days when your biggest worry was when your mom was going to pull you away for dinner? Funny how it all comes full circle…the summer months are filled with camps, activities, friends, cookouts, adventures, and more, so of course we had to create pieces that can be dressed up, down, and all around.

Well, the next pieces from our June release were specifically inspired by all those summer adventures we had as kids. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never mastered the skill of riding a bike in a dress. That’s why to me, Matilda Jane shorties are summer perfection — comfortable, distinctive, girly, and perfect for running around. I couldn’t think of many ways to improve on that perfection, but I thought I’d surprise you all with something that Matilda Jane does best — DETAIL!  I added a little eyelet, one of my favorite girly trims, to these shorties for a little something extra that I hope you and your gal will love.

In the spirit of adventure, I also created something new to pair with the shorties, the Sail Away Top. I wanted to design a style that would allow your gal to really move — the soft fabric will move with her as she plays and explores, and she won’t have to worry about rolling up her sleeves when digging in the sand. It has a super cute detail on the back, too…but I have to leave some secrets for launch day!

So whether the adventure is out to sea, on a bike, or just at home with family, I hope this outfit can cover all of possibilities of these adventures and more.

I love MJ, but this was so not what I was hoping for my. I think the detail on the shorts is too much and I imagine the shirt will end up being too wide in fit. Not a fan. Sorry. I know this is the “creative” release, but some of like Ethel’s and other pieces typical of MJ…

I love pin tucks on the top and the eyelet on the shorties. Both of my girls love MJ shorties.

Unfortunately I don’t care for the eyelet on shorties. I like the style of the top but not the fabrics on this one ; (
