It’s no secret that since the beginning Matilda Jane has been all about building relationships. Sometimes it feels like anyone that sets foot near Matilda Jane ends up making ten new friends in the process! We can’t imagine it any other way. Speaking of friends, tonight I’d like to introduce you to a loyal friend of Matilda Jane–Megan Fogel of Genie Leigh Photography. (You may even be familiar with her work already–Megan did all of the photos for our ads in Issue One of Babiekins Magazine!) A photographer extraordinaire (if we do say so ourselves!) Megan has a real gift for capturing the spirit of MJC. Whether the focus of the photo is a sweet smile or playful props, her artistic eye can work wonders.
A few weeks before the release of collection two, we sent out some Paint by Numbers goodness for her to start playing with, and boy were we stunned with results!
Her beautiful beach shots made us look at Paint By Numbers in a whole new way. I hate to confess that we at the home office sometimes get tired of seeing a collection after working with it so many months before it’s released, but sometimes it’s the truth. All the sweetness and light in Megan’s photos have given us fresh eyes for this collection.
You probably think we’re running crazy with all the art analogies, but Paint by Numbers really does hold so many possibilities for exercising some good ol’ creative license! When it comes to this collection, no two girls make it look the same. Whether it’s the styling, where you wear it, or the personality of the girl in it, Paint by Numbers is as changeable as it is colorful. Does it get any better than that?
^ (Speaking of creative license, check out the ship that Megan’s husband built just for the shoot. We’re in love the dreamy sail!)
Thanks, Megan, for working with us yet again! We’re proud to call you a true MJC gal!
