All things grow, all things grow

Rainy, grey days have consumed us here at 435. There’s something about this time of year that I love. Yes, I love Fall and all the beautiful changing leaves. And yes, I love Halloween and Pumpkin Spice Lattes and costume parties and the list could go on forever… But truly, I think it’s these rainy, grey days that I love most. It makes me want to grab my Kiara Cardigan, cuddle up with my kitties and read a good book. Or if you’re Denise, lately it makes you want to take your new pup on a walk and LISTEN to a good book. Oh, I do not think there’s one thing I dislike about this season!

Except… Winter is around the corner. Ahhh. Yes, there’s the downside. But that just means the Holidays will be here soon and so will Release 3! Which I’m dying to show you. It’s so rich and dark. Not too dark, of course! Just enough deep plums and burnt reds to add a splash of color against all that white winter has to offer.

And right now it’s early morning on the corner of Brackenridge and Clay. Just a few of us are here, preparing our minds for what the day has in store. If I had to guess most of us will be packing the 2nd Release so that it will quickly reach your doorstep. But at the moment I’m listening to one of my favorite songs and I’m feeling so, so, very content. It’s not a very well known song, heck it’s not by a very well known artist even! But that’s what I love about it. Just like Matilda Jane, it’s a little bit unknown and it feels like it was made just for me.

I hope you all get a chance to enjoy your favorite kind of day today.

LOVE, SAM

PS. The song on my Ipod? Sufjan Stevens “Chicago”.

Ack! Big Sufjan fan here – lol I was singing that line in my head as you wrote the post :) if you love him then I think you’d like Lana del Ray ‘video games’ same sort of lush sound. The song isn’t released but she has the video up on you tube .. It makes me sort of woozy in a dreamy way ;)

sam, always love reading your blogs. was just thinking today, a hayride to go fetch the perfect pumpkin…ok, make that plural, pumpkinS (cannot choose just one!) is just around the corner. and of course a trip to the apple orchard to bring home the perfectly tart ones to bake up an apple pie or two. these fun fall-outings will be all the enjoyable (and stylish!) sporting our new and lovely MJC. hmmmm….now that Kiara cardigan has just been bumped up on my wish-list! xo

Fall is in the air! Last weekend I smelled the first smell of football season. You know the smell of fresh cut grass and grilled food? It filled the air during the football season opener. Fall is great. I love to go with my sweet family and pick the perfect pumpkin. We usually wind up with several and making a big scarecrow to go with it. Anyways, I hope that y’all are having a nice week!
