And it’s almost Art Fair time…

There’s just something about a white tent. Not sure what it is, but I love it.  Love it. Love it. Love it.  Maybe it is all the hard work and anticipation leading up to what’s going on inside the tent or maybe it’s just a quick glimpse of days gone by.  Whatever it is, I love it.

I know it has taken a little bit of  time to get all the details of the 435 Art Fair out to you but there are so many tiny little details that I really wanted to get nailed down first. And yes, I am sure even with all the attention Becky and David have been giving it, we’ll miss a few.

So here’s what we have. Art Fair will take place June 29th from 8am-12pm. We will close to re-stock and re-open from 1-5pm . This is an open event for all, no tickets needed….although we do ask that you RSVP (details to come).  The Pre-Party and Special Events are listed below.  Tickets will go on sale Monday, February 4th at 10:00am  via 3rd party ticket seller. We will post the link by Sunday Evening.

We’ve moved to a new location for this event to accommodate for more guests. It’s in a gorgeous park downtown, within walking distance from the hotels. It’s gonna be dreamy and I can hardly wait. Of course we’ll have food, drinks, raffles and lots of good stuff.

And this of course is an event so close to my heart and a story that must be told over and over.  Another beautiful event

and then there’s the Belle of the Ball. It’s a project I have been working on with my dear friends, Jami Davis and Denise Walsh.  It’s about lighting that spark inside the child that may never have had the chance. It’s about caring and sharing in dreams. It’s about brightening that sparkle in their eyes and letting them know there is someone out there who believes in them. It’s pretty much all about love!

If you have any questions or comments, please post them in the comment section on the blog. I will be certain I, or one of us at the office is checking them on a regular basis.

Thanks so much, and I hope I haven’t left anything out?

Oh, David said I should mention  there is a small service fee for applied to the ticket price at time of purchase (similar to Ticketmaster and the other 3d party venues) and tickets are non refundable.

These sound like amazing events! Can you let us know how many tickets you are able to buy at one time, and do you have to check out separately for each event. Thanks so much! Super excited!

Cricket - January 30, 2013 - 10:12 pm

What percent of the tickets are a donation?

ILOVEARTFAIR - January 30, 2013 - 10:15 pm

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF TICKETS PEOPLE CAN BUY TO THESE EVENTS!! REALLY DONT WANT TO HAVE TO PAY A JACKED UP PRICE!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

artfair1sttime - January 30, 2013 - 10:17 pm

AGREE WITH ABOVE! Please do not let people buy just to sell this is for a charity! I want my money to go to them not some one buying to sell.

Nicole G - January 30, 2013 - 10:19 pm

I love both of these events…but I am BEGGGGGING you…please do whatever is humanly possible to prevent resale!!!!! Charity is at the heart of both of these events, and the people who purchase the tickets should be the people who are ACTUALLY GOING. This is different than Platinum, even though some people may see the same opportunity to make extra cash…please please please show them that it’s NOT. Non-transferable? Must present the credit card the ticket was purchased with?? Something? Yes, it may be an inconvenience for people who aren’t available to purchase a ticket themselves the second they go on sale (myself included), but finding solace in knowing that the REAL PEOPLE who purchased the tickets get to know will be enough to keep me smiling.

Sounds wonderful!

2 questions-
How many tickets can one person buy to either event?
Is it 10:00am est or cst?

Thanks so much!

Sarah B. S. - January 30, 2013 - 10:36 pm

Wow! Super excited to try for tickets. Wondering if we will be able to buy 2 tickets to the luncheon. I would suggest putting on limit on it….like no more than 2 because people would try to sell them. Maybe make the tickets for the lunches non-transferable??

Gail - January 30, 2013 - 11:26 pm

Are we allowed to buy more than one ticket to the same event?

Kenya is very near and dear to my heart because my husband is from Nyeri. I have been there and seen first hand the love and support these sweet kiddies need. I am beyond ecstatic to be able to help support MJC’s efforts and give a child the chance to grow up and be sophisticated, colorful and always a wee bit cheeky!

When is the Belle of the Ball??? Is that the Saturday night event or is there not one Saturday night this year?
Thanks!
Paige

Angie R - January 31, 2013 - 10:23 am

If we go to the charity luncheon, would there be someone willing to babysit children near the event that we could pay for? I’d happily pay $10 an hour for someone to watch the kids while I listen…

Denise - January 31, 2013 - 10:41 am

Hi Paige! The ‘belle of the ball’ is the event on Thursday night! And nope, we are not having an adult art fair party on Saturday this year! Thanks- Sam

Denise - January 31, 2013 - 10:42 am

Hi Brandi! Of course you can show up late if you want! And the airport is super close to Denise’s house, so that’s another good thing! -Sam
