Candid Keepers #441

Introducing:

Kristi Brown of Springfield, MO

Favorite Place:

Rosemary Beach, FL

Q:  Hey there, Kristy!  Tell us a bit about yourself.

A: My name is Kristi Brown, married to my hilarious husband Brian.  We have two girls Haley (7) and Aden (5).  I was born and raised in Springfield MO and this is where we live today!

Q:  I always love to hear how people met and fell in love with their spouse.  Do share.

A:  Brian and I first saw each other when I interviewed at the company where he worked.  A few weeks later we were on a business trip in Biloxi MS (I had gotten the job – ha) and we met there!  We were at a dinner, he pulled up a chair right next to me, sparked a conversation and the rest is history.

Q:  How many kiddos do you have?  Give us a little glimpse into who they are.

A:  Haley, my oldest, is so sweet, kind, giving, thoughtful and caring.  She thinks big and is always coming up with ideas for a store or business that she build in her room and we have to come and play the part of whatever story she’s created. She’s a dreamer.

Aden, my baby, is spunky, fun, hilarious, wild and definitely the biggest personality in our home.  She is always the life of the party, afraid of nothing and can make the most plain situation fun.  She loves to dance, play dress up and be FANCY.

My girls are opposites, so they bring out the best in each other.

Q:  How long have you been with Matilda Jane and when did you know you wanted to be a Trunk Keeper?

A:  I started with Matilda Jane officially in January, this is my first season as a TK.  I have loved and admired the clothing for years.  I bought my first pieces when my little one was 6 months old and haven’t stopped since!  My local TK is a friend and when she wanted to retire, I couldn’t stand the thought of what might happen, so I decided to take it on myself and its been great, more than I ever expected.

Q:  What do you think is the greatest invention of all time?

A: Sticky notes.  My life would be an organized mess without them.

Q:  What special talent do you wish you possessed?

A: Multiplying myself so multi-tasking is easier or more efficient!

Q:  Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?

A:  My husband.  Since I’ve known him he has had the best advice and is a voice of reason in my life.

Q:  If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would that be and where would you go?

A:  Condoleezza Rice.  I find her endlessly fascinating, brilliant.  She has experienced so much.  I’d love to know what she knows that she cannot tell!

Q:  What is your favorite time of day and why?

A:  School pick up.  I realize how much I miss the girls when I see their faces walking to my car!  I love hearing their stories and soaking them in.

Q:  What is your favorite family tradition?

A:  Right now we are building traditions, my favorites are things we do during Christmas.  Elf on the Shelf, leaving reindeer food out in the grass, watching Polar Express and reading The Night Before Christmas as a family each year.

Q:  Which TV family is most like your own?

A:  The family in Parenthood – all of them!

Q:  Are you a country mouse or city mouse?

A: Springfield is a ‘medium’ size town in the Midwest, I would like to think we have good Midwestern values and hard working core here.  I don’t think I could fully commit to the city or country – how is that for wanting to be in the middle!

Q:  Good Hart is such a special place to Denise.  What town holds a special place in your heart?

A:  Rosemary Beach FL.   It is our favorite place to take the girls for vacation, for one week every summer it is just our family and great memories have been made there.  I hope we go there with the girls every year forever.

We love Rosemary Beach too! I have gone there since I was 10 (to Seaside) and now I am 31, with two children of my own and I just fall in love with it over and over every time we go :) . My husband and I even went on our honeymoon there and stayed in a honeymoon cottage in Seaside. I am from the St. Louis area but now live in the Chicago suburbs :)

Not only is Krisi and her family pretty on the outside but they are pretty fantasic on the inside too. I am extremely happy with this new venture for her. I feel blessed to not only get the opportunity to order from her as my TK but even more so that I get to call her a friend.
