Well, today was spent putting some of the finishing touches on 435. Clothes are being ironed and hung, displays are being carefully designed, the building was cleaned from floor to ceiling, and some brand new paint was splashed onto the office walls. And right during the middle of that….our first shipment for Fall 2011 arrived…..1,500 cartons in all.

We’ve been at 435 until about midnight for the past three nights working on getting everything perfect. Tomorrow, we have our final Art Fair meeting with the entire MJC staff to go over the logistics of the Art Fair and the Pre/Post Party to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. Tents are being set up tomorrow, special out-of-town guests begin to arrive, and David is hanging a brand new door on the pool house!
We’ve also recently been in touch with neighborhood associations and city authorities to insure we have all necessary permits and are ready to go this weekend. Everything looks good, however, they have made us aware that the city will not allow customers to “camp out” in the 435 parking lot the night before the Art Fair. Of course it is fine to arrive an hour or so early and begin forming a line, but the city will not permit customers to park, sleep, camp, tailgate, …… in the parking lot over night. There are numerous hotels in and around downtown Fort Wayne that will be happy to accommodate you. So, we ask that you please abide by this recommendation from the city. It really is for your own safety and well being.
I imagine many of you may begin making your journey to Fort Wayne tomorrow…..so please drive/fly safely and know that we are so excited to see you again/meet you for the first time.
Oh……and if you have a friend you are shopping for, you must have them fill out the Credit Card Authorization Form and you must have it with you at the Art Fair.
