Hi everyone! I’m so happy to be here. Who am I you ask? Well, my name is Lucia and I’m the new Social Media Community Manager for Matilda Jane. Creative, unique, disciplined, artistic, determined and a little cheeky I think would describe me in a nutshell. I am a girl who loves to make people smile and surprise them from time to time. I have never considered my careers work, as I have been fortunate enough to live out my passions. Throughout my day, fashion, crafting, cooking, freelance dancing, teaching and of course travel are just a few things that suit my fancy. However, the foundation of my world would be my family and my faith. My favorite dessert? French Macarons (hmmmm, could it have been the food itself or the beautiful city?).
Although I was born in Columbus, Ohio I spent most of my life here in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Growing up, I was the second of four children coming from a mix of my father’s Italian heritage and some Southern roots on my mother’s side. There was always work to be done and fun to be had. I played several sports and was in cheerleading growing up, but dance was my home away from home! This beautiful art has taught me a tremendous amount of discipline, patience and artistic expression. Through the years, I learned so much as a student, but where I really matured and grew as an artist was not only on the stage but also as a dance teacher working with my wonderful students. Everyday I am thankful for them as they inspire me to learn more, dance more and be more.
My ballet families were actually the ones that introduced me to Matilda Jane. I remember seeing several of my dancers coming into the studios with the most beautiful, soft, unique and whimsical designs. I just had to find out more and it didn’t take long for me to get hooked! The feel, the look and most of all the story of what the company is all about was what makes you fall in love. Girls should be girls; and women should be able to find comfortable yet versatile wardrobe pieces and MJC is just that. Dress it up, down and all around Matilda Jane Clothing is a really a gem of a company.

So this week I started my journey with Matilda Jane Clothing as Social Media Community Manager. The team here is truly amazing and I can’t imagine a more wonderful and creative environment. The customers help make MJC as well and it is so nice to see how excited and passionate you are about the brand. Years back Denise started the magic that Matilda Jane is, and I am looking forward to meeting all of our hard working and incredible Trunk Keepers, wonderful customers and your darling daughters in the coming weeks.

Mmmmm chocolate. My fave dessert is brownies made in a mini cupcake pan, cool then blend together soft cream cheese and melted white chocolate. Use a pastry bag to squeeze onto the brownie and then top with sliced strawberries or Mini chocolate chips.
My favorite dessert is a lemon cake.

French macaroons are delicious…i am partial to a really good creme brule. My daughters and I love Matilda Jane designs! We have enjoyed taking a dressy outfit and then later taking the pieces to make several casual and even sporty outfits…depending on which girl. One of my daughters took a dress and added shorts and cowboy boots. I had to wash the dress each night as she only wanted to wear it! I love that the clothes remain beautiful and soft even after repeated washings!
