I’m looking over a four leaf clover….

Tomorrow is St Patrick’s day!

I don’t know why, but I have always loved it!  I think when I was younger it was the whole idea of the mythical little Leprechauns, pots of gold hiding somewhere over a rainbow, and four leaf clovers bringing good luck.  Now, I’m not really sure why I still love it so much, maybe it’s because I am still a litte bit of a kid at heart.

Our town is having a little parade in the morning, which at the conclusion of, they dye the river green for the day. I think that our very own lovely Emily and I are going to take the kiddos down to walk in it. A “leprechaun” also hides little pots of gold (rolo’s candies) all over Emily’s house for her daughter to find.  Cute right? I hope it visits my house as well…yummy!

My mom is the master of finding four leaf clovers.  Every time we are outside in the grass she has this uncanny ability to just  look down and she finds them everywhere. I  have not inherited this ability. I get so frustrated every summer trying to find one before she does. I always fail. I have fond memories of  clovers however. My mom used to make us little rings of clovers to wear in our hair during the summer. It used to be one of my favorite things to do. Sit in the grass in the warm sun with my mom while she makes pretties for my hair. I hope one day Paisley feels the same about me.

So wear something green tomorrow, so you don’t get pinched. Try a green tea latte from Starbucks. They are green and so yummy! (sorry all of us Platinum Girls are a little obsessed with Starbucks). Hopefully it proves to be a Lucky day for all of you.

I will leave you with this- Legend says that each leaf of the four leaf clover means something: the first is for hope, the second for faith, the third for love, and the fourth for luck.

xoxo

I will skip the green tea latte and go straight for a shamrock shake…yummmy…
I love St. Patrick’s day…and the color green. Wish my town had a green river or even a parade.
Have fun!

I love St. Patricks day. It was the day my husband and I got to lay eyes on our beautiful baby boy, 4:18 am to be exact. He will be eight tomorrow. I always tell him he is my lucky charm.

Sweet Carrie! I LOVE THIS POST! First of all, it reminds me of my sweet mother … who is finding 4 leaf clovers in Heaven! I didn’t inherit the luck either, but I look and look and look … and I always think about her! I need to make this a special thing to do with my grandkids … and tell them about her while we look … and I’ll share the Legend (I never knew that one)! None of the 11 ever met her … and she would so love them! Finally, I am doing the pots of gold for the 4 here in Nashville/Franklin to find in my house! A new tradition has just started – next year I will plan ahead for those who live far away! Thank you so much! And I leave you with this: May you always have walls for the winds, a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire, laughter to cheer you, those you love near you,
and all your heart might desire.

when I was 11 years old I was told my Nana was dying of cancer my mom said she needed all the luck she could get I spent a sunny summers day outside and literally found 100 four leaf clovers I put them in wax paper and brought them to my nana she didn’t win her battle but my mom never lets me forget how much that ment to her and still to this day I find about 20 four leaf clovers every year I will just be walking and look down and there one will be waiting for me its like she is still there with me every time I see one

I have never heard of the legend of the four leaf clover… But I remember as a child finding one and keeping it for years pressed in wax paper… While I don’t often have “luck”, my life is full of hope, faith, and love and I could not be happier!

Really enjoyed reading the post, as well as the others’ comments … very sweet. Looove the green tea latte @ Starbuck’s; I always have mine with 2 x matcha & 1/2 syrup … yum!

I used to love sitting in the field at recess as a child looking for four leaf clovers. I may have been a bit (ok a ton) shy when I was young. I too have that ability to spot one a mile away. Now that I’m older my kids think it’s cool that I always find them when we go play at the park. Who knew all that practice would make me so cool as a mommy. Haha! Happy St. Patrick’s Day (early)!

What a very sweet post! And the picture reminded me that the Lulu dress will be perfect for my girls to wear tomorrow so they won’t get pinched!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Been so sick.. Had to get out and look at the sunshine. First thing I did was find a 4 leaf clover. I find them all the time. This time I helped the kids find one. It didn’t heal me but it sure made my heart smile.. <3
