Oh, what a week it has been!! And oh, what a great way to end it with a little tour of Sugarland.
This week has been quite the trying one! I’ve been a single mom (David and Joe return Saturday), the office has been crazy as ever, and one of my BFF’s is getting married Saturday. I cannot tell you how many times I was ready to throw in the towel, actually I think we all were. And right at that moment I got an email from Gary. You know the Matilda guy in Sugarland, Australia. I took me by great surprise and I stepped back for a minute and realized, “ya this is what MJC is all about. It’s about making connections.”
From the very start what I loved most about Art Fairs was meeting all my customers. I would only see many of them once a year, but we had a genuine respect for eachother. I made so many friends, that seriously I bet I could call any of them right now and they would be like, “Hey, ya, totally come on over.” I love that. I love that we have such a great team. But most of all, and what makes this work, is I love that my team loves the customer part as much as I did. And I love that you have become part of us.
Am I saying love a lot? Maybe it is the upcoming wedding. I cannot wait to show you pics.
Anyhow, have you noticed the Matilda Jane connections? The friends we have all made? It’s so cool and so often I forget about it. I get caught up in the busy-ness of it all. Thanks Gary for reminding me!
Okay, now I really need to learn to upload some video. You are NOT GOING TO BELIEVE the progress Joe has made. I don;t want to tell you, I want to show you. It will blow your mind. And if I haven;t said it, it just proves there is potential in everything and everyone. It just takes the right connection to tap into it.

I look forward to seeing the video of Joe’s progress. I am sure he has worked really hard! Btw, I love Sugarland and that headband on the pic above is AWESOME!
I am SO HAPPY to hear Joe is doing so well.
So exciting to see more about Joe’s progress! That is great! I have to agree about MJC making connections!! I have met some great girls over the last year all because of MJC….I am happy to call them my friends!! It was so fun to meet them in person at 435. I loved being able to shop at 435 this past summer, but more than than loved hangin’ with the girls! Good times! 🙂
Ya for Joe!! I am so so happy for him and you all that he has made great progress! I know as a Mother the feeling when you child accomplishes something. Great or small that accomplishment means so much to you, especially when you see that pride in their little faces. My heart is so happy for you guys!! Can’t wait to see the video =)
Headbands and barrettes will on Platinum next week with lots of qtys!
THanks so much girls!
You always speak such truth, Denise! Seeing the company grow is one thing. Your son? That is the world! So cool!!!! Can’t wait for my Sugarland show on Monday! Show days are some of the happiest in our home – thanks for that!
I can’t wait to see Joe in action! And you are absolutely correct, thanks to your company, I’ve made many wonderful friends =).
I love hearing about the progress Joe is making! 🙂 Enjoy the wedding…take lots of Kleenex! 🙂
I LOVE the friends I have made because of MJC! It’s true, there is a connection we share because of our mutual love for Matilda Jane.
Great to hear about your son, Denise!
I love all the friends I have made through Matilda Jane clothing! Thanks for being an awesome company. I can’t wait to see Joe’s progress. Oh, and at least you know how to get pictures off of a digital camera. I can’t do that. One day I will learn (hopefully).
Love your last few comments. I just struggled a bit w/my DD tonight. I got all caught up of being sad, sorry, and impatient w/her learning disabilities during reading time. 🙁
I caught myself towards the end though. Reminding myself: Resources, acceptance, and love!!!! Your blog is a blessing tonight. Thank you.
Your words to me made me cry and i am off to see a dr for Chance Monday.. Thank you Denise (you show them how it’s done Joe) and I already know what he can do but i can’t wait to see…..
Woo-hoo with a full heart! <3
Hooray for progress & connections! Love being a part of MJC a home brew, out of the box, right back at ya kind of community of great people. Way to go JOE! Progress that makes it all worth it! Destination SUGARLAND has arrived!
What fabulous news about Joe! The pastor at our church often says, “sometimes God uses what He hates to accomplish what He loves!” True of Joe’s case–the road is hard but the reward is worth it!!
Thank you for some sweetness to end the week with! Joe sounds like such an amazing little boy, so happy to hear about his triumphs!
You can never use the word LOVE too much. And I have to say that I LOVE that Joe is making such great progress – I will be waiting to see the video. That is the stuff that makes my heart go pitter patter. Go Joe!!
I just want to say that I LOVE Sugarland! It’s beautiful! Thank you for making beautiful clothes for our girls!
Denise, sugarland is amazing!!! I am so excited to see how well joe has done!!! It is amazing the things kids an do when they put their minds to it!!! May he continue to grow the strength in his arm and mind :)And OH MY Lance i forget earlier when i told my daughter Tatum about joe she said “mom that is the coolest kid tell him stumper five mom” lol love her!!!
You are so very right about your company providing opportunities to make connections. I will run into people in the grocery store that recognize my clothes and say “oooo I just love Matilda Jane clothes!”. I love that I have even started a friendship with someone because she recognized the clothes. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to make connections with people! That is one of the reasons I love your company so much, you care about relationships not just about making beautiful clothes. You are the whole package!
Just look at it this way – by the end of the weekend your family will be back together, your friend will be happily married, Joe will continue his amazing progress and you will be able to smile and take it all in. I love being reminded to slow down and take a look around me – those are the times i remember most in life. Thanks for the connections 🙂
I have to say that since I found Matilda Jane I have made alot of new friends, mostly thru FB but also thru my daughter’s school. So many moms have come up to talk to me because of an interest in her clothes. We bond over MJ and find we have so much more in common too. I think it’s great that your company has the ability to bring so many of us together. I know I appreciate it. And I appreciate that we (as customers) get to feel a part of the “group”, between the blogs and FB. Thank you for all that you do. MJC truely is an amazing company with truely amazing people.
