Ellie Roundabout Dress sizes: 2, 4, & 6
Leave us a comment with your suggestion of the perfect name for this dress, and we’ll choose a winner and announce it here on the blog tomorrow! If your name is chosen, we’ll send you this dress in the size of your choice (sizes listed above)! I can’t wait to hear all of your suggestions!
Happy naming
<3 Melissa
*One little house-keeping note: since there are so many people leaving comments, there is always the chance that more than one person may suggest the same name. If we choose a name that has been suggested by more than one person, we will only be able to select the first person to suggest the name as the winner. But never fear! “Nunley” The Nunley’s Carousel that once operated at Nunley’s Amusement Park, Baldwin, N.Y. was built in 1912 by the Stein and Goldstein Artistic Carousell Co. When the park closed in 1995, the carousel was purchased by Nassau County and placed in storage. It was fully restored and opened in 2009 at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, N.Y. They hold their $2 tightly and discuss the whole ride there which hand carved animal they will ride on. They have so many beautiful memories of it and time they spend with my mom there and in the gardens. Its name would be so fitting – Rose Carousel.

The ponies remind me of the ponies you would see on a carousel!!!) Thanks for reading!!!

How about “Prince Charming Regal Carrousel” after the carousel at Walt Disney World? Here is a story I found about it: “Following their fairy-tale romance and happily-ever-after wedding, Cinderella and Prince Charming took up residence in Cinderella’s Castle. With peace throughout the kingdom, Prince Charming had time to practice for jousting tournaments. In the countryside near the castle, he built a training device of carved horses, on which he could practice the art of ring-spearing, a tournament event in which a knight rides his horse full speed, lance in hand, toward a small ring hanging from a tree limb, with the object of spearing the ring. This event was known by various names throughout the lands, but generally came to be called “carrousel.”
The carrousel device drew the attention of the villagers, who wanted to take a turn on this amazing spinning contraption. So Prince Charming had a second carrousel constructed closer to the Castle, where everyone could take a spin on this wondrous invention. Instead of a working knight’s training device, however, this new carrousel is more befitting its regal location in the Castle Courtyard – its rustic training horses replaced with ornately decorated prancing steeds adorned with golden helmets and shields, flower garlands, feathers and other festoons. Prince Charming invites one and all to test their horsemanship skills and to enjoy their own happy ending.”

Highland Park or Carousels Abound- The world’s only two-row stationary carousel built from an original Dentzel blueprint left in existence is located in Highland Park in Meridian, Mississippi. Meridian is located close enough to me that my children and I have had the privilege of riding it several times. The entire city is, in fact, decorated by whimsical horses of “Around Town Carousels Abound”, a public art exhibit of 62 horses that are a display of artistic talent as well as financially benefits Hope Village for Children. “Just as an adult lifts a child onto a carousel horse, so too does this project lift the children of Mississippi onto a road of hope.”

Merry Go Roundabout Ellie Dress
1. “Carnivalesque” – (Carnivals in Medieval Times in Europe where it began)
2. “Garosello” -or- “Carosella” – (The word Carousel derived from these two words in Italian and Spanish, meaning ‘Little War’- which is how the Carousel began.)
(My 1st choice for this spectacular ellie dress name is “CAROSELLA”… most appropriate considering it dates back to Medieval times in Europe where the carousel began… training young French Princes for the tournaments by sitting on wooden horses which were attached to a center pole. The young nobles would attempt to spear small rings dangled along the outer edge of the device. To make this more difficult the device was powered round and round by a horse or a servant. The device was soon referred to as a carousel. This history of Jousting remains with us today at fairgrounds in the form of the Carousels.)
