Name The Dress Thursday: Round 10

Man did this week fly by…It’s Name The Dress Thursday again and we have a cute little knot for you:)

I love the fun fabrics used in the beauty and can’t wait to see the fun names you all come up with!

Knot dress sizes: 12m, 18m, 2, and 4

Leave us a comment with your suggestion of the perfect name for this dress, and we’ll choose a winner and announce it here on the blog tomorrow! If your name is chosen, we’ll send you this dress in the size of your choice (sizes listed above)! I can’t wait to hear all of your suggestions!

Happy naming

<3 Melissa

*One little house-keeping note: since there are so many people leaving comments, there is always the chance that more than one person may suggest the same name. If we choose a name that has been suggested by more than one person, we will only be able to select the first person to suggest the name as the winner. But never fear! There will be sooo many more contests and chances for winning, so don’t give up!*

In Harry Potter’s world gnome saliva was meant to bring good luck according to Xenophilius Lovegood (Luna’s dad) and were technically called Gernumblies, which I didn’t think made for a cute dress name. However, they were commonly found in the garden of the Weasley household (which consequently needed regular de-gnoming) so my entry this week is “Weasley’s Garden”.

It is heartwarming to really FEEL how grateful the MJC girls are after their Africa trip. Their ability to give back, and all that they experienced… ah,,, you can just tell they are all changed! I, too, was able to give back this week in my own way, and it feels SO good. Just as I would envision a little girl feeling wearing this dress. SOOO, how about “Grateful to Give” in honor of all the giving going around!!

Oh my…this dress is what fairy tales are made of. Sprites, fairies and pixie dust are all around spreading magic and making dreams come true for the little girls and boys who live in the village up above. Just below the village of Divindale (magic+dale) is an enchanted forest, where only the pure at heart find cute, chubby little animals dressed in their Sunday best singing sweet songs about the forest. Although they are too fast for the children to see, the animals (every now and then) will catch a glimpse of a pixie or fairy flying in or out of Whimsy Hollow. It’s a wonderful world where dreams are made and the impossible becomes possible (a little like the last few weeks in Matilda Jane land). They would call their dresses Pixie Dust Twirlers and Sprite’s Delight because no little pixie or sprite could deliver this dress to a litle girl without delighting in seeing her twirl just once. Sprites in Flight are spreading magic all around and Pixie Love fills the air. (My apologies…It’s late and we’ve been SO SICK this week. My 2-year old will not allow me to name the dress because she NEEDS a story. This dress sure made for a pretty enchanted tale and hopefully there’s a name in there. I went back and capitalized the best ideas. It’s so adorable). You got the edited version. lol. I know there are so many entries so sincerely, my apologies!

Michelle Lynch - December 7, 2012 - 4:09 am

*Juliet (from the kids movie Gnomeo and Juliet)

Scandinavian, Dutch and German girl names that just seem to fit the dress in my opion are :)

*Johanna -or-
* Hannah (my eldest daugther’s name and my great great aunt’s name)
*Sophia or Sophie
*Greta
*Wilhelmina (or minnie- this was my aunts name and our family is from Finland)
*Elsa
*Claudia
*Annika
*Anneliese

(since these names are old fashioned German, dutch and scandinavian girls names and Gnomes date back orignally to Germany, Holland and some Scandinavian countries. It just seemed fair to name it accordingly )

*Holland (also seems to fit. I can see a little precious one wearing this while traveling across seas. Running in the tall grass with a wind mill in the back. lol. ok yea its early in the morning…I’m still in dream mode ;)

You all have really creative minds. I can never come up with good names but I enjoy the ones you do. Pixie dust. Perfect.

I am in the middle of reading Romeo and Juliet with my students. They keep talking about the film Gnomeo and Juliet. The romantic flowers and the gnomes just scream “Juliet”.

It’s very Romeo and Juliet so how about the setting for the play, “VERONA”?
