Becoming a member of the Platinum team means taking on A LOT of responsibility. We run a pretty tight ship around here, and with only 5 of us to do everything, you can believe that we all have to work together like crazy to make the Platinum magic happen! We each have our own personal responsibilities, of course but then there are the extra jobs that we all float between. Some of these are not super fun, but are just as necessary as cutting, pulling or packing- like taking out the trash or cleaning on Friday afternoon. But then there is my favorite- naming the new Platinum pieces.
Once in a while when Sam and Denise are designing they will give a name to a piece, but a lot of times pieces are named once they have come back from being sewn and when we can see their true personalities. Sometimes it happens while Kiara is building item numbers, and she will search for the perfect name. Or sometimes Carrie is stocking the shelves with an item that has not been named yet and will hold up the piece and ask for suggestions. As I am sure you can tell by now, we draw inspiration for this from everywhere!! Fabrics, trims, cities, people we know, memories, and movies can all spark new names. You may remember the ruffle pants that were uploaded in November that had a theme: Veruca, Beauregard, and Snozzberry were all borrowed from our favorite, Willy Wonka. The day we named these pants, I searched on Google to be sure I had the correct spelling of “Snozzberry”, and believe me, there are many variations! Later that day, Sam walked by my computer, saw the word “snozzberry” in the search bar on my browser and asked, “Umm, Desi? Why were you googling snozzberries??”
Remember Carter? The CUTEST little knot dress with the cutest trim ever that is in the picture above? Would you believe me if I told you this dress earned her name from the little wiener dogs on the apron trim? Yep, at my college there was a little hot dog stand that showed up in The Village late at night and was known as Carter’s Hot Dogs. Everyone on campus knew that Carter had the best late night snacks for when you needed a break from pulling an all-nighter studying at the library. Or Haley- the sweetest little flutter that was everyone’s favorite (and my favorite!) from a recent upload. She was named after my childhood best friend who, I promise you had a dress exactly like this one when we were growing up!
We haven’t had a contest in a while, so why don’t you let me know what YOU think the most adorable name for a new Platinum piece is?? On Monday we’ll choose one of your names, name a dress after your sweet little girl, and when it is uploaded we will send you your very own in your child’s size! I hope you all have an amazing weekend!!
Love, Desi

This is soo fun, my youngest daughter’s name is Isla Rose and I would love to have a piece named after her. You guys are the best!
The Kennedy
The Claire ~ The Kenzie ~ The Frances ~ The Madeline ~ The Austin
Nollette … for my Zoe Nollette …. it’s frenchie, twirly, and oh so pretty.
Not really cute but the name ‘the general’ is stuck in my head :). Or Marcel, ahahaha.
Honeydew
Annabelle Violet…for my third dear daughter. She has been wearing glasses since the age of 2. Between her glasses and her mj she gets a lot of attention but I haven’t been able to grab any Platinum for her. Help a mama out. Her older sisters have some!
I would love for you to name a platinum piece “Lucy Goosey” or “Lindsay Lu” after my daughter. These nicknames were given to my daughter when she was in the neonatal intensive care unit when she was born. These have stuck with her and she is 4 years old now!
Anya … Pronounced ON-Ya … or her birth name Anastasiya … pronounced ah-nah-stah-SEE-yuh
Since spring is coming up I think you should name one Leilani. It is my daughters middle name and in Hawaiian it means “flower from heaven” which is exactly what she is. Marah Leilani ~ my flower from heaven
“Lily” After my little spark of fire 7 year old! The piece would have to be full of fun and sass!
I always call my daughter my little doodlebug or my little peanut. If I saw a Doodblebug or a Peanut I would need to have it.
You don’t have an Addy or an Addison yet, I think. =)
Name a dress after Addy and it better be sweet as sugar, stubborn as a mule and funny as all get out, because those three things describe her to a tee. Good Morning MJC!!!
Love your story! The Kendall dress – pure and full of love. Have a great weekend.
My daughter’s name is Tessa and I think that would make a great name for a dress!!
Flossly
My daughter named her first baby doll flossly, no idea where the name came from but it stuck
my suggestion is Evangeline. Actually names after my grandmother that i love so much.
A classic beauty, wise, and wonderful 😉
Cute story about the Carter knot dress. Carters hotdogs was and still a staple at BSU. I remember many a late night walking to the village for a Carters hot dog. Now I want that dress for my girls. Gonna have to track down a couple.

Thank you for allowing us to play a small part in the creative process at 433 – what a fun contest!
Since spring is coming up, I think you should choose Leilani. That is my daughters middle name and in Hawaiian it means “flower from heaven” and that is exactly what she is. Marah Lealani ~ my little flower from heaven
Olivia
That’s a fun idea! If I won I wonder how I would choose what daughter!? : ) I’m not familiar with a lot of the platinum names because I have only bought one dress from there. Though hearing your story above about the hot dog stand I like the Carter Knot Dress idea! Plus, those weiner dogs are really cute!
This is sooooo exciting!! Everytime I hear a cool name I think- that sounds like a Matilda Jane dress!!:) I dont know if you have used it but I call my Robyn ‘sweet pea’ and I love middle name Channing:) I would be over the MOON if you picked me!!!:)
Bluebell!
Isn’t coming up with names so fun! I would have to go with my daughter’s name, Reese
My daughter’s name is Tessa and I think it would make a great name for a dress!
I pick {Presley Puff}
Awesome contest! I never win these things so I usually don’t even enter but I gotta try this one for my baby girl. I think the most adorable name for a new Platinum piece is Maggie Mae!!! ♥ After my sweet adorable little Maggie Mae.
I am biased
But, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see a Lila ellie! That would be amazing!
LOVE hearing how things are named. Kind of like hearing the story behind a song!
My daughter’s name is Nora! I think that would be a great name for a peasant dress!!
Cute Lil Dog Knot.
Anna Caroline
My little girls name is Hadley… I think it would be great for a dress name also her nickname we call her is doodlebug…. Also cute I think for a dress…. Thanks ladies for a cute contest!!! Love your clothes
I think it would be amazing if you named a piece Carmel.
My dd and I would be so thrilled!!
Topsy Turvy! Love it!
Gianna
What about Carston or Ansley? Those are two of my children’s names.

my daughters are lovingly referred to as “the fitznuggets”!
seraphina! My baby would love the knot!
I would love the name “Whimsy” like whimsical 😉
The Brody!
Plain and simple name- “Sweetie” because all of our little sweeties love to wear their Matilda Jane.
“Lily” – this name is rich with family history. My Mother and Granddaughter share the name and it would be so nice to see a piece with this name (if it hasn’t already been done before). Thank you for your consideration!
A name…
Eau de Rose
How about the Miabella dress or the Leonardo shirt.
I’m pretty partial to these names…. the names of my kiddies! <3
You must name it: Crickett !!!!!
Joscelin is a perfect name for such a great line.
Patsy Pearl!
Ok, I am super partial to purples, so for some odd reason the name “DoodleBerry” keeps coming to mind for a cute little flutter or ellie with some fantastic purple
hehe!
My vote for an adorably named dress is.. Mila. Named after our sweet daughter who fulfilled our dreams of finally becoming parents.
What a fun contest
I have an idea for you….it would really only apply to a very summery/beachy dress I think. My idea for a name is “Flotsam.” This inspiration comes from one of my favorite children stories of the same name. The term “flotsam” means: anything floating that has been washed ashore. This story is about an inquisitive child who finds an underwater camera washed ashore with amazing secrets inside. When he’s finished, he takes a picture of himself and tosses the camera back in the ocean to be passed to the next person who finds it. 2007 Caldecott Medal winner, too
I hope you’ll consider this idea should the perfect dress be designed….very “share the love.” Thanks!!
Brandi Greene, Atlanta GA
[email protected]
Angellica after my sweet babysitter!!
Makenah
I would love to see a piece named after my daughter, Bryce! Maybe I could convince her that Bryce can be a girl’s name if the piece is girly and twirly!
My dh and I couldn’t agree on a name, so we searched the boy’s names and both loved Bryce. Unfortunately Bryce doesn’t yet feel the love for the uniqueness of her name. 😉
Can’t remember how recent, but I LOVED the Frita Flutter I think it was called. I have no idea why, but that name stuck in my head and it was one of those random things I couldn’t get out. Me and my 8 year old laughed forever trying to see how many times we could say it fast without messing up
Try it!!!
My gals have abbreviations for their names: AddiBelle and Maddi Jewel. Have a fantastic day!!!
One more….Eliza Wray….our daughter who passed away in 2009. I just love her name!
I would love to see a dress named after my daughter! I don’t think there’s ever been a MJ piece with her name. Her name is Maren, which is of Scandanavian origin and means “star of the sea” and “little pearl”. Maybe a cute dress with blues and whites?
I have 2 DD’s. My 6 year old is Delanie (who is called Lanie; and yes I had at least half a dozen calls when the AG doll catalog came out in 2010) and ironically my 3 and a half year old is Kennedy (who we refer to as Kenna Beth; and yes, the McKenna doll will most likely make an appearance in our home this May for her birthday).
Belle would be a beautiful name for a new Ellie top. My daughters name is Kaya Belle
I know you’ve had an Addy knot before (sadly I do not own one), but my little one is named Addysen (Addy for short), and I’d love for a dress to be named after her. Miss Addy has had a long battle with SPD & developmental delays, yet she is one of the bubbliest 2 year olds i know. Oh, and PS- her favorite color is purple! =)
“Lucky Lexi”
Her name is LEXI, and she has big baby blue eyes and dark brown hair. She is 9 years old and we love Matilda Jane. Thanks for your beautiful work. I bought my first adult MJ this past fall, awesome…..
Here are afew more that I thought were beautiful:
Isabella Swan (twilight), Madison, Chloe, Hadley, Kathryn, Naomi, Charlie, Jasper, Amelia, Adeline, Hazel and Stela.
JUST A FEW THAT I THOUGHT WERE ALSO PRETTY! 😉
My husband and I have nicknames for all 3 of our girls, like I’m sure most of us do, and here they are:
Lauren-“Hammer”(because she tries everything full force)
Grace-“ball peen”(she is more delicate and refined than Lauren)
Devin-“Devo”,”Deedough”(because of her baby gooiness), and “Devi” I guess because being the baby, everyone has given her so many variations!
When anyone asks my youngest daughter what her name is she very proudly points to herself & says “I Emme Louise!” She thinks her first & middle name must always be together. Louise comes from my grandmother’s middle name & though they never got a chance to meet, she would adore Emme Louise & as a quilter would have loved Matilda Jane dresses too!
Taryn
I know that college… and that Village… and I knew that Hot Dog Man too! Later a Pizza guy started too:) yum. Oh the pressure to choose!
Sweet Pea-My friend’s nick name for her girl:)
Frog Baby-BSU:) haha!
Pretty In Pink
Baby Love
Summer Days
Summer Nights
Watching a-lot of 80’s movies whilst folding laundry:)
Marlee Jane! 😀
My daughter
Alannah Marilyn or Kaitlyn Kristen – super contest by the way!
Sofie! Our Sofie is a little chunk of fun! If you are making any more western fabric pieces, Sofie would be the perfect name. She’s five years old and riding in her first rodeo tomorrow!
How about a dress named Audrey Claire. She is a fantastic little girl who always steals the show (this can be verified by anyone from her dance studio) she is 4 years old and very unpredictable, wouldn’t want it any other way.
i think CHARLEE is a fabulous name for a platinum piece. i have been in love with this name for a long time and i finally have a little blonde hair, blue eyed 1 year old named Charlee Mae Wood. she is a doll and would LOVE a MJ dress. She would wear it well too
I love the story about Carter! We have a weiner dog so I have a soft spot for anything with them on it. I’m sad I didn’t see that one get uploaded!!
That aside, for a new dress… Its hard to say without seeing the dress we are naming but I think Pearl would be nice. Its one of those things thats so simple and classic but always beautiful
Caroline Elise. Or my other daughter is Elizabeth Cerise. Pick me!!!
MeMo is the name! Our daughter who is now 8, use to refer to herself as MeMo when she was a toddler. Her name is Morgan and she just loves to hear the story of how Morgan became MeMo so many years ago (for her, LOL)even though it seems like yesterday to her father and I… OK, here it is…. When she was small, she couldn’t say Morgan, so she would say Mo… I would ask her “who is this? and point to her and her response would be it’s “me” and then I would say “who is me” and she would say “it’s Mo” and then she started putting it together to make up this funny, corky, perfectly cute, little zany name that actually described her to a T! Oh, she is growing up so quickly and it brings a tear to my eye everytime I tell her the story of how Morgan became MeMo when she was a “baby”!
How about Daisy…. I can see it now with beautiful bright colors to represent spring/summer so well.
JuJu Beans
I have twin girls and one has a common name and one not very common at all. I would love to see a dress named for both of my girls. You can call it: Kalina Olivia
For our two sweet girls: Pippy-LaRue, Anna Banana
Elle Belle is the Belle of the Ball!
I would name a dress Bliss because that is what each little girl and their mama feel when she puts on a platinum dress. If that has already been used, then how about Chase because that is what we are all doing after these platinum pieces. 😉
My baby girl is named Sophia Rosita and she has many many nicknames…
The Princess Za-Za dress
Mighty Monkey Dress
Well I’m a sucker for the name Gracie (since its my daughters) but would love to have some plat geared for St. Paddys day coming up! Like ~ Lucky Leprechaun ~ because you are lucky if you catch plat! Happy Friday girls <3.
I have one more suggestion to go with the lovely girls names…my daughter is Avery Elizabeth, but we call her “Avery Beth”
Ella May
Melia
Scarlett
Sophie
You already have a Parker (my 8 yr old daughter’s name), so how about CAMPBELL?
I would love a Giselle dress, after my daughter of course 😉
How about: Polly Plum, Pink Elephants on Parade, Rosie Posie, Cherry Blossom, China Doll, or Miss America.
Since you already made a Harper knot dress how about using my little girl’s middle name, Sage?
I think Bella Rose would be a great name for a platinum dress.
Charlie Ann
My little girls name is REESE but I really wanted to name her CHARLIE ANN. My husband said no… but I think it would make an adorable dress name! … and Piece of Reese would be cute too!
Did you go to Ball State? I think Oscar would be a cute name, after my dog!
My sweet grand daughter’s name is Lacey Rose. How perfect is that for a dress name!! Have a wonderful day :)))
Savannah would be a fabulous name for a dress. My *Savannah* is spunky, smart, witty, loves the color blue and can make anyone laugh.
I would love to see “Ma Marie” (my mom’s name is Marie and it would be just adorable to have my daughter in a dress named her “Nan”). Or “Emma Rose” after my daughter…I can just see that on one with a beautiful floral pattern.
Have a wonderful weekend, Ladies!
There are already two with my oldest daughter’s name so I’ll through out my youngest’s – Kuyper. She is the essence of all that is carefree and fun in childhood :).
Moonshine
You know, this came to me so quickly…I could not type fast enough. Mary Jo Vannatta…she is the one I think about, especially at this time of year. Before I had my twins, I had to be hospitalized for several weeks. She was my always compassionate, amazing nurse. It never mattered how busy she was during her days on the Maternity floor as head nurse, she took the time to be there for me, even calling when she was not scheduled to work. I was completely depressed during this time because I had to be away from my older kids and she made each and every day as special as the last, even bringing in football and basketball jerseys for my older boys who were also struggling with mom away. She always made me feel important and loved and she was such a breath of fresh air! To this day, we remain friends and she keeps tabs on all of us. I love her and feel so blessed by her friendship. I honestly believe I gave birth to my healthy twins in large part because of her…she was my Florence Nightingale. Platinum…always brings a smile to my face, when I am lucky enough to snag a piece, even on the dreariest of days…another breath of fresh air!
Eyelet Ivy
I hope my choice isn’t too close to your example- but I have always wanted a “weiner dog- not a hot dog but a tiny wire haired dauchshund” and I always said the dog’s name either male or female would be “Dexter.” I picture “Dexter” as a smart and sassy Flutter dress
As a child, I used to live in a little village outside of London, England. When I found out I was having a girl, I knew I needed to somehow incorporate where I inot her name…..The result: Londyn Elizabeth. Femnine version of the city I loved to visit as a child. Elizabeth for the Queen of the country. Love her more every day!
Emerald City
Back in Kansas
Horse of many colors
Dorothy’s Dream
Amaryllis
Such a beautiful, vibrant colored flower that reminds me of some of the colorful dresses you girls make!!
Mary Margaret ( the first names of my twin girls)
Twinkle
How about Brinley. It means sweetheart or at least that is what a baby name book said when I choose it for my daughters name almost 2 years ago. So if you have a really sweet looking piece that would be perfect.
Another good one would be “Hello Clarice” if you have a piece that is a little daring or has lambs on it (quote is from the Silence of the Lambs).
My oldest daughter is Isabella Merovais….would love something called Merovais!!!!
Would love a dress named after one of my girls, Ava Sofia and Chloe Evangeline
Thanks for the chance!
I think Holland Blooms would be a great name for a new Platnium piece. My 4 year old daughters name is Holland, and would love to have a Platnium piece named after her! She has an amazing little personality, and her Matilda Jane outfits really fit it perfectly!
What a neat idea :] I’ve always wondered where the names come from. My name suggestion is the Marleigh Mimosa [ Marleigh being my miracle DD’s name meaning peaceful meadow and Mimosa being a flower defined as secret love – MJ is a meadow of secret love IMO ]. Thanks for the opportunity!
My daughter is Samantha Brooke

I think a great name would be Mareah..pronounced Mar as in car. A friend of mine’s daughter. When I read the contest her name was the first that came to mind. She’s the sweetest little girl Ive every met. She has the longest golden blonde hair. My daughter always says that she looks like Rapunzel. I can just picture her wearing one of your dresses.
“Alivia Aspen” After my oldest daughter who is wise beyond her years AND the biggest drama queen I’ve ever encountered. She’s also quite the MJ fan. Always insists on wearing MJ for school dress down days and of course for those super important 8 year old social events 😉
OMGosh! What a super fun contest! Of course I think that the most adorable name for a Platinum piece would be WILLA WREN, my daughter’s name.
My girls, Hollis Olivia Anne and Evelyn (Evie) Kathryn, LOVE Matilda Jane everything! They would flip if a piece was named after one of them! Good luck naming!
I have 4 children – 3 boys and one girl. My daughter’s name is Katherine – but I call her Miss Daisy. It was originally a little joke… at 2 years old she started carrying around bags, dora bags, MJ bags, my bags… and she fills them with her prized possessions. So I jokingly called her Miss Daisy from Driving Miss Daisy as I had to carry all of her stuff where ever we went. Now it has stuck :0)
I also call her Sparkie because she is sparky. She has 2 older brothers and she tells them how it is. She is fiesty, determined and, well, sparkie

” Georgia, Georgia,
The whole day through
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind”
Vivi. Her full name is Viviana. “full of life”. So it would have to be a sweet and sassy piece for my sassafras!
Would love an Anya dress!
I think it should be Noonday, or something inspired by the work you are going to be doing for Africa, can even be one of the new pieces you debut on platinum.
But on a personal note, I’d like a piece named Brandy;) you already had a Bristol, Bree and Bella ( all my daughters names)
My daughters names are Delilah (DD). Celeste ( you had a Celeste in Field Trip) and my baby girl is Trinity (she is the 3rd). Trinity would be great for a 3 tiered dress or Ellie:).

Ansley is our “oldest” at 3, and her twins are 19 months! Margaret and Vivian are the twin’s names… How about something twin-sy, not too matchy matchy, but super coordinated could be “TWINkle toes” ?? just a thought.
My daughters are Emma Lee, Aubrey Grace, Harper Julianne!
I love your clothes and I’m waiting on my first order to arrive!
My favorite expression is “your such a silly goose!” I think Silly Goose would be a great name for a dress.
I tend to add all sorts of things onto my kids’ names. I call Sofia (3) Sof-a-loaf & Soferina a lot. My Natasha (15-loves wearing MJ adult) is called Tashie Goulashie & Tosh Bosh by me a lot.Sometimes we even sing her name into “My Sherona” with “Tosherona”
Don’t get me started on my so Nathan…Nate rhymes with everything! Great, skate, late…lol
As for a random name for a dress…Flute Fry. Many years ago I was referring to those pesky fruit flies to my older 3 kids, and did a “spoonerism” (love that word too). Now we always refer to them as “flute fries”. We even insert it into the “shoo-fly” song at times. “Flute fry don’t bother me, flute fry don’t bother me…”
Okay, now I’m thinking of Led Zep’s “Ramble On” cause that’s what I’m doing. lol

How about Poppins! We just watched that movie and I love every bit of it. You could use spoons full sugar and Supercalifragilisticexpilidocious! You bet I googled that one!
I chose the greek word “Eudaimonia (meaning Happiness).” When I think of what Matilda Jane means to me so much of the various definitions of this word spell Matilda Jane Clothing. Please click on this link and take a moment to read the various definitions and you will understand why I chose this word –> http://www.psitek.net/pages/PsiTek-how-to-find-true-happiness-2.html — at least I hope (smiling). All I can say is “Thank you to all of you at MJC, you are all making a difference that touches so many lives that creates happiness!” :O)

the “JAYA” (pronounced JAY – uh) – meaning: VICTORIOUS.
This may be our only chance, my one and only daughter wears MJC size 12..how will we transition from MJC to the bleak, sloppy options out there for Jr sizes?
Prim and Proper
Kyri
Eve
I have always loved the name Macy…
I love how you came up with Carter the dog!!
I would love to see a beautiful and very colorful dress named after one of my daughters, who are Filipino, Chinese, Hawaiian, Caucasian, and Native American. My 5-year-old is Liliana Mei, and my 2-year-old is Adelina Reese. Thanks for such a fun contest!
Molly Claire
Lillian for my little girl who will be born in a few weeks! This could be her first piece of platinum!
Charley!
My little girl is Eliza Jane. We never intended it to be a double name, and it isn’t really, but many people do call her that and her family does all the time! We sing her the old song about “Sweet Liza Jane”.
However, in honor of our sweet puppy I’ll also toss in the name “Baxter”! No, it’s not girly but it’s still so cute! 😉
Sorry, one more as a shout out to my baby boy. This nickname is “Bean”.
Morgan Elizabeth
That is the name of my spunky, adorable, brilliant, bespectacled 7 year old.
She doesn’t own any Matilda Jane yet, it’s a bit out of our price range at the moment, but we have been big fans for quite some time.
The Miriam dress..
The Mimi, after the sweetest, most beautiful grandmother in the world, mine!
Lucy!
I LoVe this! My favorite names are
Dixie
Thelma or Louise;)
Looking Glass
Audrey
And my youngest daughters nick name is Tootie or Tutti Frutti:)
My sweet friend and I have daughters who are both named QUINN. We adore MJ and would be thrilled to have a dress named after our cuties. Quinn means intelligence-what more could a Mommy want for her beautiful girl?
My daughter has just recently began telling people her name and it is the cutest thing, she is named after her great grandmothers so her name is Martha jewel, but we call her mj. People have asked me before if mj stands for Matilda Jane after they notice all the mjc tags… haha. I wish you could hear her proudly say “I’m Martha jewel Wallis! But my names mj!” Adorable. And Martha jewel would make a perfect name for a fun girly colored platinum piece.
My daughter’s name is Olivia…kind of common but her middle names (yes she has 2-a thing my dad started and insists on in our family) are Annalee Elise. Here are a couple of my ideas:
“Livy Lee” (What my dad calls my daughter)
or the “Annalee Elise”
Janelle Howe
Lily was mentioned earlier and I would to see a dress with that name like the previous comment, I have many family members with the name Lily. Those who have pasted Great Grandma, Grandma,& My beautiful niece who is gorgeous and very generous:) My daughter would have been named Lily but my sister beat me to it lol. So she is Lila Elizabeth. The other name is Flibbertigibbet is a Middle English word referring to a flighty or whimsical person, usually a young woman.
Kennon Rebecca is my oldest dd and sometimes we call her Kennon Becca. My youngest dd is named Jaden Claire. Cute contest!
My sweet girl is Anabelle Joy. Love the contest idea!
I would love to see a dress named after my happy little social butterfly – Kaylee Anne. Don’t forget the “e” on the end of Anne.
‘Annalise’ or ‘Natalie’
Annalise Rebecca(her middle name is my Mother’s first name)
Natalie Carroll(her middle name is my Mother’s maiden name)
Madeline Bryant(6) (nickname is Bit, she’s 6 now, but that’s her nickname from her daddy and I)
Claire Beth(4) (Two Bit, HA! Seriously though, it is perfect for her because she is our little Two Bit)
Aliya or Ansley…two of our sweet girls
Or the Lady Antebellum (they are a country group). My daughters love them, and their MJC twirls really well when they are dancing to it!
Sheila Marie after my dearest sister, she lost her son this past summer and would be thrilled if I showed her a piece named after her or her son.
Bryce – above Sister’s sons middle name
Delilah after my sweet youngest daughter.
Lola Rose
Our little girls nickname is “Belly Belle”. (real name Isabelle)
Other names “Bella Marie” “Confetti Pop” and “sunset sparkle”
Good luck in finding the perfect name, I’m sure one will pop out that will fit just right with your new dress designs. How Fun!
Lyla
(my daughter’s name Lyla Jane – LOVE IT!!!)
“Katie-Dru”
This is my precious 5 yr old daughters name. She has the most beautiful and kindest blue eyes you have ever seen. Her favorite thing in the world is ballet, and she makes up many “routines” all the time to share with our family! Such a kind heart and soul.
Hartney! My grandmothers maiden name and if im ever blessed with another girl it will be her name.
My youngest daughter’s name is Carris Mae Jeffers. She goes by Carris to most people, but to family, we call her “Mae Mae”…We were in a restaurant one night eating Sushi (yum) and a little girl next to us heard us call her “Mae Mae”… she then, referred to her as such. Then, the parents asked us if we knew what “Mae Mae” meant…. and we did not. They told us that “Mae Mae” was Mandarin for “Little Sister”. We had no idea! However… Carris is the youngest of our three children and the “Little Sister” of this family! We thought that was super cool! A great name for a platinum piece would be “Mae Mae”…. or at the very least “Mae”. She was named after both of her great grandmothers who had the middle name “Mae”… and old name none-the-less, but a classic.
Ellen
Kali or Kaliann pronounced (Cali-Ann)
Swooning
Dream catching
Rising in Hope
The Best Days
Fluffer muffin
Breezy
Standing sunshine
:o)
My vote is for Lily Faye or Faye Geneva after my daughter & her great-grandmother.
It isn’t my daughter’s name, but I think “Lolo” would be cute, the perfect sister dress to the Lola- which we love, not just because it has become such a cute little girl’s name, but because it means ‘grandmother’ in Filipino! And Lolo means grandfather;)
Tawnie Jean
What a cute contest!!
Love this!!! We always the name mjc comes up with but here are some ideas:
Summer nights (an ode to grease of course!)
Summer lovin
Potion #435 OR love potion #435
Mystere (with the accent marks above the “e”‘s
Fandango
Lemon chiffon
Emerald city
Popsicle dream
Pure beaute
Belleza
Night in Paris
Aliya or Ansley..two of our girls
The Fairmont, after my 1st car…a car you once featured in a photo shoot.
Rough and Tumble, the nick name I’ve given my two kids.
How about Stella Rain, made with some of the most fabulous blues you can find! Stella would love it!
I would love a Taylor Marie after my daughters
lol (size 8
and Northern Sky
Just a few ideas 😉
Cassiopeia- from the movie Serendipity
Also Kate Beckinsale plays Sara Thomas in that movie…
Also January Kiss and Moonlight Rain were some tracks on the cd of the movie
My baby girls name is Teagan Cylee. Shes an adorable, prococious 2 year old who already is a little diva who loves shoes and dress up. So maybe The Teagan or Cylee, for all the little divas
Kissalicious, Hugalicious, Sweet Caroline, Bonnie Blue
I think ” you are my sunshine” would be precious & not one I can say I’ve ever seen named, ocean blue came to me to but that b/c Karlee informed me that she needed something blue to bring out the color of her eyes. Since she’s only 7 – I can’t help but wonder why she even said that… What a fun game! Thanks
I think the name Azalea (Ah-ZALE-yuh) like the beautiful flower would be a great name. My daughters name is Amelia Jane.
What an awesome idea! Zoe Grace, she also goes by Zozo, Zozie, Ozie & Dolly :)))))) Her dad is Greek and Zoe means “life”. We thought it was fitting because it took a long time and a few small miracles to give her “life”
***ALLIE RAE*** after my beautiful daughter! Thanks for the fun contest girls
My daughter always wants to wear twirly dresses, I mean always. A dress name the twirling Allison would be awesome.
Events that lead to the name we chose for our dear daughter. My husband and I had tried to become pregnant for over 16+yrs. During a trip to Sedona, AZ, we met with a woman named “Linda” who took us on a spiritual vortex tour. During this tour and please remember she does not know us she stated “You are trying to become pregnant and you are going to have one baby, a baby girl. She is sitting over your left shoulder and waiting for you to give her a name.” My husband and I just looked at one another.
At the next vortex she asked me if my mother’s mother was deceased and a little spunky woman. I replied, “yes!” She held her hand like my grandmother use to and said that she was saying “I needed to have a baby . . . a baby girl!” Again, not knowing what to think my husband and I just looked at one another. Moving forward six months . . . I found out I was pregnant. When they performed an emergency c-section (our baby was born 2 months early)we found out we were blessed with a baby girl. When it came to naming our daughter we felt it could be no other than “Sedonah Elizabeth.” “Sedonah” means natural beauty and “Elizabeth” means God’s promise.
So I would love to name an MJC/Plat prettu after my daughter “Sedonah Elizabeth.”
The Mae Belle!
I think it would be so fun to pick names for Platinum pieces, and I have certainly wondered before where the names come from. Thanks for the blog, it was a fun read! Here are my name suggestions 😀
Elsa, after my baby girl and only daughter or
Pearl, her middle name and her 90 year old great grandmother’s name. You couldn’t find a more beautiful soul, and a dress with this name would surely be one to remember.
This is so much fun!!! When I think of a new spring season…I think of birds and flowers. Growing up, my mom’s nickname for me was Birdie. Ha! Not sure why, she just thougth it was cute?? My legs are much more on the tree trunk side! And the name Flora Lee just screams a girly spring dress. My husband and I are in the process of adopting a baby right now, and we will be naming him/her after my dad- Lee! So, there are my votes, Birdie and Flora Lee! Good Luck to all of the awesome entries:)
Avery Marie – this dress needs to be full of spunk and super sassy too!
I have 2 daughters Charlotte Lynn……I know there was already a Charlotte but I also have a Macie and she is a force to be recond with she is 5 going on 25 and is the queen of sass she would be the perfect girl to name a dress after!
Snowy days
Cherry on Top
Peace & Love
Sweetie Pie
Celebration
Whirls & Swirls
Pinky (just had to add this one since my daughter loves the color Pink!)
Thank you for the chance.
SIMONE….. After my new little baby girl Ella Simone
…I just love the name so much and would be so touched to have a cute MJC dress named after her …
PEANUT!!!! That beautiful dress in your pic looks just like my dog Peanut! Love it!
“Innocence”… Its portrayal in your line of clothing is a large part of why I love it so. Little girls in tiered dresses, knots, ellies, and ruffles….looking the part of innocent little girls, for as long as possible…
Presley Kate
So fun! My daughters name is Emma Elizabeth (she is 6), but we call her Peeka (as in Peek a boo) because when she was a baby, and she was upset, I would sing a song that started “peek a boo, peek a boo, peek a boo, I love you”. as soon as i got to the words “peek a” she would be smiling. We also call her DoodleBug and BabyDoll. Emma’s favorite song is “I love a Rainy Night” by Eddie Rabbitt. I think “Rainy Night would be sweet too. There are so many cute suggestions already! Good luck on the picking!
Elli Belle or Elli Bean for my sweet little Elizabeth.
Here are my suggestions and since I have three kiddos. I won’t pick my favorite…., name that is!
Three possibilities:
Lilli Pearl,
Julia Lorin,
Charleston (can’t leave out the little guy!)
After 2 adorable boys…I finally had a baby girl on February 28th 2011, I named her Madeline Paige, although I do call her Maddie Paige too! That would be an amazing 1st birthday gift for my Sweet Madeline!
1. Diddle Daddle Doodle Doo(my neice’s nickname – she’s such a goofy girl)
2. Elsa Bug – my daughter’s nickname. It started as snuggle bug since she loved to snuggle. Since her name is Elsa, it slowly just became Elsa Bug
My two picks would be “Lillian” after my oldest daughter Lilli and my second pick would be “Alana Aliya” after my youngest daughter Alana….. I would LOVE to see one of these picked.
Quincy ….after my lovely daughter, Miss Quincy Margaret! 😉
First thing that comes to my mind is “Bella Rose”
What a fun contest idea!!
Such a cute dress and I think a fitting name would be Evelyn Grace or the Evie.
I like ARIELLA Grace
We are big dog lovers here and have a huge fluffy Samoyed named Sake.
Thinking that there needs to be a reference to man’s, I mean girl’s best friend.
Dog Days
Marley (from the movie)
Lil Blue
Best Friend
Copper Knot (after Fox and the Hound)
I just love this contest! I would love a an MJ item with the name Khloe(I know you guys have had a Khloe with a C but not with a K!!). Which is my youngests name. Or my oldest daughters middle name Rheanne(pronounced Reeann). I gave her the name after a good friend of mine in high school who was the most genuine person I have ever known. I hope I get picked!
My oldest is miriam rose….as moses’ older sister did in the bible, she looks out for her little brother (and sister). Her daddy has over 80 rose bushes planted at our home, hence her middle name. I think a piece made only in bigger sizes, with a rose print and lots of pink would be fabulous with her name…
I would say a southern frilly frock named after my Shelby:) (and my favorite character in Steel Magnolias)
Khloe Joli – my little princess full of spunk & sass, but also sweet & cute as a button!
Sarah kristen…..she is bright colors, laughter, and spunk
Cherry Blossom
How about “Ava Grace”, or the “Ava Mae” (that is what her grandpa calls her
)…or I even like “Holly” that is my middle name (a good o’le sweet 70’s name:) )
Ok, I have to do a second one….when I was pregnant, I was obsessed with naming my baby-to-be Agatha. I adore this name for some reason, although I was told by everyone and his dog that Agatha was an “old lady name” and my husband flat out vetoed it
So prove everyone wrong and name a young, stunning tiered ellie Agatha…maybe others will see the beauty in the name that I see
How about Harper or Haddon?
Khloe Joli – my little pricess full of spunk & sass, yet is sweet & cute as a button!
Oh how fun!!! Would LOVE to win this one.
First off, an “Ali Ellie” has a nice ring to it!!!
Her full name is Alexandria Shea or sometimes Ali Shea for short.
She also has a nickname “Lulu” that started off as Flossy Lulu (yeah no idea how that started) when she was a baby. So many of our friends call her Lulu, she answers to both. Lol. We do get some strange looks at in public when we call her that.
I know you have a Lulu dress already, but I could totally see a flutter dress called Flossy Lulu.
Adalyne or Ainsley
A dress named after two of the sweetest girls I know!
Amelia.
Hannah Joy is my daughter’s name
Agape (Means love)
Kyah
There’s a few! Good luck on finding the right name!!
Great way to name pieces. I’ve often wondered where the names come from, such as the “Carter.” How about Something sweet like “Emma” or “Lizzie”? I love Jane Austen books and the names.
Clara Rose after my daughter!
Naming clothing would be so fun! I think “Dzann” would be a great name it is Russian and means strong, sweet and bright-all qualities little girls are made of! I also think “Gumdrop” would be so cute!!
As for my own DD’s my youngest is Avery and we call her “Averella” (sometimes she acts like a little princess) and then my oldest is Olivia (“Lala”-what Avery used to call her when she first was talking. Now she calls her “Livi” for short).
Love adding all of the names. Would love to see one named after our little EllaBella or our newest addition Parker. Even though Parker is a boy, his sister would get a kick out wearing something that is named after him!
Jorie (or Jolie) It is my DD’s name (named after my childhood BF) and a variation of the French word Jolie- which appropriately means “Pretty”!
My sweet girl is Anabelle Joy. Few of her nicknames are A Joy, Belle Joy, Sweet Bellebelle. Love the contest idea!
Helen, because what are the odds I would be blessed with two sweet grandmas with the same name. My girl is Kamryn Claire, so Kammy Claire would also be a great name.
I have two sweet girls, Calli and Ellenor, but the sweetest name of all is what Calli calls her baby sister, Nell Bell (Ellenor’s nickname) created with love by a 2 year old. I love it!!
It’s caught on around our house.
Coco! This is my daughters middle name. I named her after my grandmother-who’s nick name was Coco.
Emma Reece or Lily Grace my beautiful daughters.
The Skylar Stowe dress
“Augustus” sounds platinum and was also my sweet nephews name:) we called him “Gus”. Thank you:) Kendra

I think my daughters have the cutest names, Mallory and Mary Cleo…but “Cleo” seems so Cheeky!! You need to make a cute little Cleo ellie
Gracie B (could even have a cute little slogan to go with it….”Gracie B, this one you gotta see”.
My daughter’s name is Gracie Bella but all of us call her Gracie B except for her daddy. he has called her “grapes” since befoer she was born so maybe “grapes” would be a good one if you had a dress with lots of purple.
I know you have a skirt, which we LOVE! But I would love to see “The Ava Claire Knot”! or “The Claire Bear Knot” (her nickname) with cute little bear trim on the apron! Super cute!
My 4 year old is Molly Kate. I think a good Platinum dress name would be Pippa, Martha, Shirley or Daisy Mae!!
My vote is for “Elliott ” or “Jenna” jenna is my daughters name and I think a very perfect name for an mj platinum piece! Elliott is my middle name- I hated it growing up bc o Eliot in E.T. The movie… But now bc I know it’s my late grandmothers last name I love it and think its a super name for an mj piece.. Anyway I do love that all of your clothing has names an so does my daughter every season we “study” and quiz each other on the line names!! Xoxo
How bout Shugie (like a little sugar), Hunny Bunny, Angel Face, Preshie, Doll Baby, snuggle bug, or HRH (her royal highness) – all names I call my little Natalie
Stella Sue – my newborns nickname:)
So fun to learn how names are chosen. If you come across a new platinum piece that’s fun, bright, and a little spunky “Sloane” would be perfect! Have a wonderful weekend! : )
“Sara Libuse”, pronounce Li-buse. Old czech name meaning “love”. My daughter is 4, independent, spunky, unique and filled with LOVE. Named sara after my mom and Libuse after her great grandmother who came from Czechoslovakia.

OPELOUSAS, LA
{ Ella Jean }
thats my baby, and she would love a pretty little ellie dress named after her!:)
Love to hear the stories behind the names! Of course, you could go with Emily Marie or Emmy for my girl, but I also like these:
-North Star (for something blue, or constellation/star adjacent)
-Grow and Bloom (from my fave 10,000 Maniacs song for anything floral)
-Meridian (because it’s such a beautiful sounding word, and the definition: a high point)
-Aglow (for anything bright and luminous)
How fun! I could go on forever. I’d use nicknames for my kiddos, but none are particularly Platinum ready: NuggetChunk, Syrup, E-Bear, Sack of Potatoes. Hah!
I would sure love to see an Asher or peanut cake– she answers to both.
Ohh or Margaret Sue… both are family names and Ashers middle names, we save this for when she is in trouble, thankfully it is very rarely used.
Addison Kate or Ella Elizabeth
Jannah Laine
My beautiful baby girl. I’m sure it would be a wonderful dress.
What a wonderful idea for a contest, so much fun. My grandaughter’s name is Keeleigh, as a nick name I call her “Sugar Plum.” I came up with that nickname for her because she really is just the sweetest. She is 3 1/2 years old and loves horses. She has named her toy horses: “Goldie, Spirit, PolkaDot, Abrowna, Milkshake, Sparkle, and Bow.” (Lots of little toy horses huh? She plays with them all the time.) Thanks for the opportunity to enter, this was fun!
I tried to think of some general descriptions of pieces from the lines and the platinum I’ve seen out there. I came up with:
Flights of Fancy
Spry & Fly
Extravaganza
Swanky Panky
Miss Boisterous
Perkalicious
No Shrinking Violet
Fun contest!
Just thought of another bc my sister “Dustin” just called– we call her “dusty” even though professionally she tries to tell people her name is Dustin .. She automatically gets called dusty– he middle name is Leigh.. And I’ve always loved we name. When she was little everyone would respond with- ” oh that’s my dogs name” and wouldn’t it be great if finally she could stand proud and say– it’s a Matilda Jane dress name lol! My mom told her she was named for the dust in our basement- mom is a ceramic artist.. But the real story is she had a crush on Dustin hoffman.. Okay end of my ramble! Xoxo
Jannah Laine

I would love a piece named after my daughter Elliana Jane (her middle name is my grandma & moms name)
Or even me;) Wrenai, my Real name is actually Renee however in highschool I started spelling it Wrenai. I was uprooted to small town northern MN by my mother having only lived in larger cities moved to a town of 500 was quite a culture shock… there were 2 other Renee’s in school whom at the time seemed pretty stuck up and i did not want to be associated with them you know as cool as I was and all;) *I’m sure they are fine upstanding citizens now so I mean no harm;)* and while I still spell it Renee most times the Wrenai part stuck. Even my highschool diploma is under Wrenai (wonder if that means I legally didn’t graduate? Heh) and my best friends daughters middle name is spelled wrenai:). so now only my old or close friends call me wren or spell my name wrenai. I
always use it as my screen name for online stuff as well.:)
Excuse errors on iPod:)
Peace, Wrenai
I like “twirls a lot” knot or “curtsy cutie”
I am NOT very creative 😉 LOL
Kaeleigh Sue, Emily Bea, Faith Marie or Phebe Thankful. Four of my favorite girls in the world and favorite names too.

I would to see the name Sophia Marie. It is the name of my daughter.. she is vibrant 5 year old who recently lost the hearing in here right ear.. However with the hearing aide she just received she is a new girl… It is blinged out with pink and sparkles.. She love MJ and would love a piece named after her :).. Rock on and thank you for all your hard work and dedication.
Super great contest!!
“Beatrix” (Bea and Trixie are her nicknames) – my newest granddaughter from China has been a MJ girl since the day we picked her up last March! I took a MJ wardrobe with me to China, as well as, matching or coordinating for her big sis, Livvy! The pictures of the two of them are adorable!
the Schnitzel -One of our nicknames 😉
Summer sunset or Dahlia (for one of my favorite flowers) I definitely have summer on my mind! Of course the name Allie, after my daughter is pretty special as well!
Ally Bear- that would be my husband’s favorite nickname for our daughter :).
Maddie Lorraine. My daughter was named with her paternal and maternal great grandmother’s names. She has the most amazing blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair. I waited 39 years for her and she was worth every moment of the wait! Happy Friday!
Marygrace or Vivian

My vote if For “Augusta” or “August”. My daughter is the third Augusta- no
4th!- in our family. Such an old fashioned name, but sweet & a little sassy, much like its current owner:)
I would love a little dress named after my Emeline :). She
I think some really great names for platinum pieces would be:
Heather
Whisper
Willow
Or
My daughter’s name: Natalie Rose
My adorable MJ wearing daughters name~ The Luca….well her name is just Luca, I added the “the” for effect
Pinkalicious. It’s my 2 1/2 year olds favorite book and the perfect description of her personality. She’s part sweet, part mischievous, all inside a complete girly girl package.
My daughter’s name is Charlotte Kate and we call her “Pidge” because she sounds exactly like a pigeon when she laughs. It’s hysterical!
Not after my daughter but I also have a suggestion with a memory from my childhood. She was my 1st grade teacher. Mrs.Jennings. I loved her last name for some reason and could never incorporate it into my life but naming a dress Miss Jennings would be AWESOME! A part of my past could then be worn by my daughter in the present. That would be a great way to remember my 1st grade teacher everytime my daughter wore the dress.
How about Trici for my Tricity or Tylyn for my little miss’ middle name
Love to know where the names come from!!
daddy’s girl
daddy’s little ballerina (for a ballerina dress)
stitch in time
mae mae
august rising
What a great thing to do!! How about Chloe Jo!
What a fun contest! I have 3 little girls, who all have family names! Addilyn Mareid (my grandma Mareid was born in May and named after her uncle Reid= Mareid) we call her Addie. Then Eliza Belle, whom we call Eliza Belle. And Elanore Rose who we call Nora. My favorite name that you guys use is Finn. I know it is from the women’s line but I just love it. If I ever get another girl I want to name her Ivy!
How about
Reagan or Genevieve
Political or French…and there you go…pair Reagan up with “Kennedy” from someone else’s post and you are bipartisan!
Well, of course I love my beautiful baby girl’s name….Kinley Marie. She is a gorgeous little girl with a lot of character and spunk which would also describe platinum your beautiful platinum pieces 😉
The Mary Morgan or the Madeleine Grace. Sorry if I posted this twice.
How about Trinity 😉 My youngest daughter is named Trinity Jae and I wish I had a wonderful story as to why we chose that name but it boils down to the fact that I staked claims on the middle name {my only sibling who passed away 8 years ago was named Jeffrey and I knew if I had another child i’d incorporate his name somehow so I came up with the Jae}. Because I picked the middle name dad insisted on selecting her first name from the long list of possibilities I had written down. He hated every single name on the list but Trinity because Trinity made him think of the Matrix movies.
I am going with the Macie Mae for my puppy loving girl!
*JADE* my beautiful, loving and sweet daughter Jade!
What about an entire upload of the “pet names” people call their children-
sunshine, sweetheart, darling, etc. and many of the names already mentioned in above comments. That would be a super Valentine upload!
This is so much fun, but I think picking names is so hard so GOOD LUCK!! I think the prefect platinum name would be PRESLEY SHEA or TESS MILEY! My sweet girls would be so excited to have a cute platinum piece named after them!
ok I have another one, a little off the wall, but I love this movie. Zoolander
Little Miss Ella Bella. It’s the name of our little 3.4 pound full grown Yorkie. My DD loves to dress her up in doll clothes, put bows in her hair and push her around in a doll pram. It’s quite a site & makes you smile even if you don’t want to! Just like MJC.
Little%20Miss%20Ella%20Bella.%20%20It’s%20the%20name%20of%20our%20little%203.4%20pound%20full%20grown%20Yorkie.%20%20My%20DD%20loves%20to%20dress%20her%20up%20in%20doll%20clothes%2C%20put%20bows%20in%20her%20hair%20and%20push%20her%20around%20in%20a%20doll%20pram.%20%20It’s%20quite%20a%20site%20%26%20makes%20you%20smile%20even%20if%20you%20don’t%20want%20to!%20%20Just%20like%20MJC.
How about an Ellie named Kenley Rae… we love the Ellies, well we love almost everyting MJ.
Hmmm… Olly has been on my mind lately. I know you have already done Oliver, but I think Olly has it’s own possibilities if you haven’t used it already! (P.S. I really like the names like Emerald City and especially Neverland!)
Caitlin!
Named after a little friend in my daughter’s class who has — on Monday– been diagnosed with a brain tumor that is both untreatable and inoperable. She’s the sweetest and most vibrant little thing and sadly She’s only 4. We are all praying for her, raising money for her, and spending time with her but just short of a miracle she won’t be with us for years to come.
How about one from my favorite movie, “Some Kind of Wonderful.” Miss Amanda Jones (that was the Leah Thompson character). My favorite character in the movie was, of course, Watts, but I am not sure if that is a cute enough name for a dress, maybe for some punk looking leggings or a tank top though.
Indie Grey … what a fun contest!
I think that Kelliani would be a great name for a dress….
i have 2 daughters Kelly Elizabeth and Katherine Grace.
how about ice cream flavors?
praline knot
pistachio
rocky road
cookies and cream
rainbow sherbet
31 flavors….
My hubby and I have nickname for our daughters…
**Doodlebug – my daughter Lee Ellis LOVES to draw, paint, color…you name it..she is very creative I might add
**Buggy is my daughter Ryan’s nickname….she is 4 months today (sniffle, sniffle) and for some reason sice she has been home there are LADYBUGS everywhere around our house and we thought it went well with Doodlebug
RED VINES!!!!!!!
The Emery knot dress would be great!
Love fun names for pieces.
How about
AddieRose * Playday * Pink Dreams * twirls and giggles
Thanks for the fun!
“Bella Button”
Or just
“Arabella Button”
To name after my sweet little baby who went on a button eating escapade
Her new nickname is buttons or Bella button!!
(Just ask Alicia about the leggings, lol)
Cheers!!
If I could name a Platinum dress, I’d name it the Lily.
A little background as to why this name. I’m the eldest of three and the only one who’s had children. My mom adores both of my kids but of course is dying for more grandkiddies. My brother and his wife have struggled for the past several years to conceive but with no luck. My sister, the baby of the family recently announced that she and her husband are expecting. We were all beyond excited for her but there was that little feeling of sadness for my brother and his wife. Well not three weeks later did my brother and his wife find out that they too are expecting! Truly a miracle. My sister decided that if she had a girl she’d name it Lily after my grandmother Lilian. She went in for her ultrasound and found out it’s GIRL!! and the incredible thing is she found this out on the anniversary of my grandmother’s death. This is gonna be one special Lily.
Reagan malerie.
Ruby jane
Thanks!!!
*JADE* for may sweet, loving and beautiful daughter…Jade!
Rainbows & Unicorns
Kate or Lily – #2 and #4 Granddaughters
Rainbows and Unicorns
Fun, fun, fun! Okay, so since I can be quite indecisive …:
“Sachi,” “Johnnie,” “Ruthie,” “Eliza Jo” & “Macy Clare” … can’t wait to find out what the winning name is going to be!
Hmmmmm. I would want to make the name something that meant something to me. We have an MJ headband that is my daughter’s name already….so I choose something with Jane in it…for all the party hosts as well as our amazing TK, Jane H.
I think my fave is probably just simply Sweet Jane.
Sweet Jane
Cutie Patootie Jane
Jane’s Symphony
Dancin’ Jane
Jane-mazing
I think ACADIA would be a cool name for a platinum piece
My sweet and sassy daughters name is Ellington Brooke. She is named after my great grandmothers maiden name, Ellington, and my middle name, Brooke. It is amazing how her fun and loving personality is the perfect mix of both of us! I think Ellington would be the perfect name for a sassy and twirly MJC Ellie dress!!
-Annie
-Molly
These ARE my daughters names that I have always loved ever since I was a child. I think they are classic and timeless and, I didn’t realize until after I had named them… But they are also from my girls favorite movie, Annie! Best movie ever:)
Tiddlywinks!
i think ‘the sweet diva’ would be a great dress name! i know my dd definately feels like one when she wears her MJ, though she does have a lil ‘tude;) or shilah grace, her name, shilah came from shiloh which means ‘gift from God’ which she truly is & grace b/c by God’s grace we were able to have a girl in a family that told me over & over, ‘Lofgren’s don’t make girls’!
I have 2 lovely ladies:
Lilly-Bug
Kylee Morgann
Christy.
After my TK, the initial reason for my obsession!
My precious granddaughter is named after her great-grandmother whom she never got to meet, but as a little girl, my daughter was 7 years old when her grandmother passed away, and she always said if she ever had a daughter she would name her after her Mamaw and 25 years later we have that little girl and her name is Calley Brooke, aka, Doodlebug!!! She is a beautiful brown haired, brown eyed little girl, just like her great Grandmother!!!
Christy. My TK, the women behind my first piece of MJ!
ella rose – sweet, dainty, feminine- named after my beautiful little 2-year-old
Chickadee
Eliana, Marlo, Maren, Maura, Addi….I’m sure I could come up with much more!
“Camper” for that free-spirited girl, which just happens to be the name of our new black lab puppy.
I’m partial to Reece, Dylan, Teagan or Macy!!
“Georgia Kathryn”
Etoile (Star)
LoveDay
Cosette
Elle
(sophias middle name). Ya know as in Elle Woods from the best movies ever! Legally Blonde. I tried for Elle as a first name but my hubby negated it…..guys aren’t supposed to have an opinion!
We have three girls, Kalla(Kayla)Marie-beautiful flower, Payton Dane-feminine warrior, and Baylie Jade-meanings that it was our oldest’s “idea” to have another child she got to name her. I love idea, Thank you for everything you do!!
My daughter’s name is Brooklyn Shae. I wanted to name her Avenue Shae at first but since my husband and I always get odd comments about our names we went with the beautiful yet not so “odd” name of Brooklyn. My name is Shalaine Starr (maiden name) and my husbands name is Beau. You wouldn’t believe how many times we have to spell our names and correct people but we both love our names and hope that Brooklyn feels the same. I know she would love to have an adorable Matilda Jane dress just to prove it. : )
Catie Claire or Catherine Claire
How about “Oh, Suzannah!” after my sweet girl Suzannah. Suz also has been referred to by her friends and teachers as Sweet Suzannah and Suzannah Sunflower, or even Sister Suz
I have the cutest niece and her name is Eden Avalon!!!! Too bad my daughter is 10….
I think ‘Gibson’ would be perfect!
How delightful it would be to have an Eva Quinn!
Higgledy piggledy- from Mary poppins (not sure about the spelling!)
I’m partial to Aubrey Grayce.. or just Aubrey.. because that’s my daughter’s name and I love her to pieces. It helps that she is such a little fashionista!
I like lazy daisy, and madison lee which is my daughter’s name daisy is our cute new puppy’s name
I have twp beautiful daughters Tristan 13 And Peyton 2. Yes we have a huge gap and nobody in between, People ask my husband and I all the time about it. Just the way we were blessed and I would not have in any other way! My two girls have such a wonderful bond and have learned so much from each other. In honor of both my girls I would love to name a knot TRIPEY. The first three letters of each girls name. Thanks for the fun!
Narrowed it down to my top 3:
1. Swingin’ Sarahbelle
2. Strawberry Pretzle Salad (yummy and just on my mind)
3. Summer Rain
After my sweetheart, Little Miss Lila Jane. She loves her MJ soooo much!
“The Dallas” named after my daughter;) “Duchess” is her cute nickname.
I am picturing a “Rockwell” knot representing Americana, family values, simplicity as Norman Rockwell, and Matilda Jane do best!
Hadley, My sweet 6-year-old’s name
Growing up the only way my friends could shorten my name to be fun was to call me Rachie or Rach. It was ok but I always wanted to be something like Elizabeth so friends could call me Libby or Liza. I knew when I had a daughter I wanted to name her something that her friends could shorten to be cute if she wanted them to. So we have Addison Kathleen. Addie Kate is what I want but she can decide herself one day:)
how about ring around the rosie?
I think the perfect name for a piece would be “Trouble”. First, because I know as soon as platinum pops up with this and any other new pieces, my wallet will be in trouble. Secondly, it makes me think of my daughter, because when she is being particularly bratty we call her by her full name and then some: Riley Elizabeth Trouble Miller.
Brooks!!
Livia Grace
I have always thought my daughters name fits her perfect! She is so sweet and sincere:) I love that it is a old name with a new twist!
I’d love if there was one with either of my girls names, Delaney Ashlyn or Kailyn Makenna
Ruby Grace – She best of both worlds!
Blair! Aw that would be awesome!
My Claire Bear would love a dress named after her. I know there is a “Claire Bear” hat…we own it! But a dress would be awesome!
I’m going to throw Emily Joy into the mix for a sweet & spunky dress that matches my sweet red-headed girl’s personality.
Lilliputian!!!! Like from Lilliput the island from Gulliver’s Travels. My Lilly was born so tiny she looked like one of the tiny people from the island!!!
Whitney Kay or Marin Jae
My two daughters!
Mayble June would be a perfect name I think
mostly because I think that’s what we’re naming our baby girl coming in 9 or so weeks!
My daughter Eva (age 5) and I share a fondness for the Brady Bunch;) Since you already have the ADORABLE Brady leggings, why not continue with the theme? Perhaps – Marcia, Jan, Cindy, Carol, or Alice? Since you’re getting a boys’ line together, you could include Greg, Peter, Bobby, Mike or even Tiger;)
I love games like this, so I have 2 suggestions! lol
1. Aurora, the poetic name of the Roman goddess of sunrise whose tears turned into the morning dew. I see yellows, oranges and blues…
2. Quillen, our family name and one of the most original and interesting names out there (I think). I envision a stunning green tiered ellie
Oh, and of course, my little Hollyn would be a lovely choice too.
I’m sure no matter the piece/name you come up with, it will be gorgeous! Thanks for the fun contest!!!
Macey Leigh
I have not read the other comments so this may already be a choice. Also, I cannot remember if this may have been a name already. How about sparrow??? I can see that on a flutter, knot, peasant or ellie that can take a little girl flying away into imagination land.
It would be fun to see a something named after my dd, Kiana Taylor. Though some days she wishes her name was Kiany- LOL. So I suppose a Kiany could be cute too.
Braylee
BrayElla
Payten
PayMae
Peanut
My dd’s name is Morgan Elizabeth. How cool would it be to have a dress with her name!
One for my Maisen!
Ok lol I think I suggested this contest on your website a few months back so I am not sure if it is ok if I play too
I think a funny name would be great like “Refreshing.” But am going to say Paige (nickname Pilly) or Francis (Brooke’s middle name, named after my father who passed away 10 years ago) But I also would LOVE a nod to Dr Seuss so maybe Lorax? BTW Willy Wonka- All time favorite movie
My daughters name is Olivia, but when she was born my son was not even two and could not say her named so he lovingly named her Wia. She continues to be called Wia now and although I don’t expect this name to be loved by others the way we love it, I thought I’d share a sweet story with you
Wia
We have Sydney.
I think Poppins or Mary Poppins would be great. Your clothes are full of the same charm and imagination as that great film!
My daughter, Lilly has sensory integration disorder which is a form of autism. When she was younger, i called her ‘Lillybug’ and it just kind of stuck. Even now, when we are out in public, i get strange looks because i have shortened it to ‘Bug’. whenever we encounter a pink ladybug item, we tell her its a Lillybug, so i think “LillyBug” would be a good name.
Dilly Dally or Lollygag – 2 things my sweet little girl loves to do
How about …
Cami Gracie or Cassie Allie for Camden Grace and Cassidy Alice???
Thanks for the contest!
Eve Isabella, or just Eve by itself. Sweet and simple and pure.
How about a zippidy do dah dress…………..my oh my what a wonderful day!!!
My baby girls name is Brynnleigh and I think it would be a perfect name for a sweet pink tiered Ellie dress for the spring!!!! Such a fun contest!!! I love all the fun you guys like to have with your customers!!!!! Thank you!!!
My sweet girl Avery would love a dress named for her! Every morning I ask what she wants to wear, and the answer is always ‘how about a dress, mom?!’. I just asked her what are a some nicknames I call her, and she said ‘sugar pie.’ Love that girl.
Sorry to comment again but just thought of one of my best friends in high school whose name I have never ever heard again. It is Dwyn. When I asked where the name came from she told me it was the name of a boat her father had seen when he on duty overseas.
I like flotsam and jetsam because it means bits and pieces or odds and ends. Which is what a lot of platinum is. You are using up your bits and pieces and turning them into something fantastic. Plus Flotsam and Jetsam just sounds cool. Or of course there is the greatest name ever– Stella Ryan–the most fiery little girl you will ever meet and we were lucky enough to adopt two and half years ago!
I have a hairdresser named Destiny and It always makes me laugh when I have an appoinment and if someone asks me to do something on the day of my appoinment I have to say ” no I have an appoinment with Destiny”. Love it, it makes me smile plus so much meaning with it too:)
Destiny would be my name choice
I would love to see one of my girls have a dress named after them
Lauren Frances
Molly Grace
and
Hannah Lisbeth or Hannah Blessing
Nicknames we use, Molly Pie, Lolly
Punky or Brewster because who didn’t love Punky Brewster…she was the original Spunky and a wee bit cheeky girl:)))))
You have not had a Scout yet, which is one of my little one’s name. Simply ADORABLE! The Scout dress. Sounds perfect.
Raley, Camille, Emery, Mattie-Sorry if these have been posted
My DD is named Emma and we have several nicknames for her that I would love to see as Plat piece: Emmaleigh, Emmaroo, Em, Emmaloo, Emster, or how ’bout Scamp or Doodlebug
Any Plat brings a smile to our face
My girls are named “Finley” and “Hadley” but we only call them by that name if they are in trouble! Most of the time, it’s “Finn” and “Haddie,” which I think would be some super cute names for tiered ellies!! (Hint, hint:)) The “Finn” should be girly, florals in pinks and purples, with plenty of twirl. The “Haddie” needs some vibrant, funky colors, with an unexpected girly trim…oh, how I would love to spend a day with all those fabrics at my fingertips!
Sunday. Nothing more perfect than a lazy day!
My two daughters are Hayden Riley and Kennedy Anne. So maybe something like the Riley Anne?
Silly Millie–my sweet girl’s nickname
Virginia Breeze-what a great springy dress name (my girl’s middle name is Virginia)
Sweet Genevieve-my grandma’s name
My daughter’s name is Annaline. We combined her two grandmas’ names to make hers, so to us, her name means family.
Cute names for your cute items:
Prissy
Jojo’s (cute for shorties or pants)
Cinco (for the 5 of you)
Yeti (got my husband a yeti cooler for Christmas lol)
Karma (God always finds our perfect rewards and “punishments”) you guys always give to the deserving!
How about silly beans (my husbands nickname for our baby girl)!
Or sweetieliscious for my favorite pie shop or jampot for another favorite jam shop/ bakery.
Katya – named for the daughter I dreamed of as a child reading an old Russian folktale “Klever Katya” Katya is finally here and looks amazing in MJ.
Sipping Shirley Temples in Singapore!
“Camber” My youngest and only girl of four. <3 She is sweet and o so full of life!! A perfect name for the next Knot dress.
My dear niece is named Maisley, we call her Mae. Her name was a combination of the two names my sister and bro-in law were considering, Wesley for a boy and Mabel for a girl (after my maternal grandmother). Would be lovely to have an original piece named after her original name and personality!
When my husband and I found out we were having a baby girl we wanted a unique Indian name so from a combination of three different Indian names we came up with ASHALIA…. Which actually means flower and mesmerizing!!! Pretty descriptive of the platinum pieces…:)
ASHALIA GRACE
I would have to snag a Macey dress for my daughter Macey!!
Tapdancing in Taipei, or Sipping Shirley Temples in Singapore!
Avery’s Apple Dumpling knot!
I have two little girls and am choosing a name that applies to both of them. “Sister Sue”, or sometimes just “Sister”, is a fun-spirited nickname they both happily answer to. I think it would make an adorable name for a piece of Platinum, as well.
Rainbow Connection….it makes think of spring and an explosion of colors. And that is my daughter, and explosion of color in my life.
I love “Skip to my Lou”, that song brings back a lot of child hood memories for me :)Or even Shirley Temple, lots of old school inspiration there! 😉
I love naming things. How about some Valentine names…
Secret Crush
Whisper
Butterfly Kisses
Scarlet and Magenta
Paper Hearts
Bestie
Serenade
Be Mine
Or one of my daughters’ names…
Naomi
Elliot
Violet
I went to BSU too!! And probably had one to many hotdogs from them;) So fun!!
I like the name “luminous” for a dress because our kids bring so much light and love into our lives.
Ruby Starlight!
I know you had a Ruby Molly skirt, but never a dress!
My favorite imaginative name of all time is Gewdypthe which reminds me of running through the dew covered grass, early on a bright winter morning, smelling the sweetness (and a little mildew) of clothing forgotten overnight on the line as I pick oranges fresh from the groves for my grandmother to make me a glass of pure Florida sunshine.
Oops just read we are supposed to put our little one’s name. Evie Selene
She is a complete animal lover, full of sass, and gives the best bear hugs. A complete firecracker. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Darby
Darby Meghan
Kodi
Rino
Bryn
Devon
Boyd
Segal
My suggestion is Reagan Jane. This is my little girl’s name and she was named after the greatest president Ronald Reagan so in honor of the Republican primary and in hopes that we get a candidate like Reagan and of course because of my sweet little princess – I think Reagan Jane would be an amazing name for your platinum clothing item.
The other MJ- Madelyne Jean
How about summer dresses named after ice cream treats? Root beer float…Banana split…Creamsicle…Strawberry milkshake. Can you tell I’m ready for winter to end?? Of course, if you wanted to name a dress after my daughter(Olivia Paige), that would be awesome too!
Kilee
Kara
Kaylynn
Kilee Marie
Kara Michelle
Kaylynn Mary
How about Malia for my little Ethiopian princess or Lilliana for my little Guatemalan princess:)
My daughters name is Rowan, I think it would make a fantabulous name for some plat!
How about “DC Love”? In case it’s not obvious, the DC stands for diet coke. I always get a chuckle from your diet coke references.
Sugar-Baby

My bestie is a true southern belle and calls my sweet girls her ‘Sugar Babies’. They recently moved away and when my girls talk about missing them, they often say amidst giggles…”Does Aunt Cindi call us her Sugar-Babies?!” (in a perfect southern drawl of course) They think it is so funny & so endearing. I think it would be a beautiful name for a dress w/ sweet ole’ Southern charm
I like “Miss Priss” or “Sassy”
Lovely
Buttercup
Dewdrop
Eye Candy
Juliet
Kit Kat
Paradise
Peachie Pie
Pudding pop
Sweetness
Treasure
Twinkle
Thanks for the contest!:)
How about a starry night??? That one sounds like it would be right up our ally with rich dark colors and dazzling highlights. Isabella would like one in a size 2 please : )
My 5 year old daughter is Ryleigh Grace. Her nickname is Punky, because she reminds me so much of Punky Brewster, from her dark brown pigtails to her crazy clothing combo’s. I loved that show when I was a kid! My 2 year old daughter is Kynzie Bliss but most the time we call her Bliss. She wasn’t named after the candy but she is just like a little peice of hershey’s bliss, so cute you just want to eat her up! Good luck with picking a name, there are lots of great ones. You might have to make extra dresses just so you can use more of the names! lol
My daughters name is Alissa Lee…We call her Lissy Lou!! So sweet!!
How about starry night??? That one sounds like it would be right up our ally with rich dark colors and dazzling highlights. Isabella would like one in a size 2 please : )
There is nothing I like calling my Josephine more than JoJo.
It means she is being silly and wonderful and precious all at the same time – perfect for MJ Platinum!
Oh, or what about pieces named after children’s book characters? Ramona (Quimby)…Nancy (Drew)…Christina Katerina (& The Box)…Madeline…Lucy (Little)…Dorothy (Wizard of Oz)…Wendy (from Peter Pan). What a fun contest! I always said I would love to name paint colors or nail polish, but naming Matilda Jane pieces would be much more fun!!
“Ravishing”
When my daughter was about five, she had gotten herself dressed, came downstairs, and asked,
“Mom, do I look ravishing in this? Well wait, what does ravishing mean? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?”
Of course, I replied, “Yes, baby. You look ravishing and that is a good thing!”
Still makes me a little teary.
Brinley <3
Irie- she was named for the Jamaican term which means “1: powerful and pleasing 2: excellent, highest n 3: the state of feeling great.
Ever since my hubby and I had a missionary trip there, we loved the term and thus gave it to our daughter….perfect for a Matilda piece as not only do my kids feel great wearing the clothes, I feel great seeing them in pieces made with love and it makes almost everyone we connect with ask “where did you get that!” and I’m always happy to share you lovely brand!
Great work all!
Brenna or Maddie Gwynn
Well, if it is a dress with some blues in it, how about Etta to honor Etta James (famous blues singer) who past away today?
My granddaughter’s name is Sophie Jane, but her mom calls her Peanut!
I always love all the names you ladies come up with! I’m not super creative… but I know my older girl once said “There’s never anything with my name… no pencils, no stickers, not even a Matilda Jane piece!!!” Her name is Erina Rose, not very common. She’s twelve and wouldn’t fit in any platinum dress… and well, she would probably be too cool to wear it anyways, sigh. But she would still love seeing something named after her ;-).
Precious Girl!
Irie :: 1: powerful and pleasing 2: excellent, highest n 3: the state of feeling great.
Irie was named after a missionary trip to Jamaica where we heard the term “irie” often. Not only do my girls feel great wearing your clothes, I adore that they are made with love and everyone that sees them in your line gasps and has to know where to get their own…powerful to see it all full circle, pleasing to the eye, excellent creativity, highest quality and the ultimate state of feeling (and looking) great!
Lauren, Tilt a Whirl, Tea Party, Bellissima, Fairy Sweet or Cotton Love!
I’ve been dying to see a Matilda Jane “Ayla” dress named after my lil girl. Her name isn’t too common but it oozes sweetness and all things girlie. Or if you want to get real cute name it after her nickname the “Ayla Bug” dress.
Thx
maddie mae!!!
My baby’s name is Luna Belle….meaning “beautiful moon”….I think that would be an adorable name for a dress! Maybe a pattern with a moon on it or dark blue….my other Daughters are named Paisley Taylor and Morgan Lily….those would be awesome too! What a great contest!
My girls are Lucy Violet and Lauren Frances. I think an I love Lucy dress would be pretty cute!
My Girls names are Alexa Faith and Kendall Hope. Although, my husband has nicknamed our youngest (Kendall), spunky (or spunk for short) beacause of her spunky personality!!
I think that your dresses have somewhat an English and vintage inspiration. They are classic, and yet modern and colorful for today’s little girl. In keeping with the popular mini-series, Downton Abbey, what about a “Grantham”, or “Sybil” or “Edith” or “Downton”? Something that reflects a cherished period in time?
“sweet pea” my daughters nickname and a pretty flower
Lola! My daughters middle name. She was named after my grandmother who sewed all her kids clothes during World War II in Poland, as well as for the village kids.
My obvious choice would be after my daughters, Sarina and Elise. But, upon further thought, I would go with the Ariel after my favorite Disney princess! Or maybe bubbles or lily of the valley!
I can only imagine having to come up with new names for each and every piece! What a challenge – and what a fun contest! I’d love to see a dress called Snickerdoodle. It just makes me think of sweet sugar, spicy cinnamon and a little sass all rolled into one!
Well, my first choice would be after my daughter, Taylan. My second would be Evangeline – just love the name and think it would be a beautiful dress!
I have my own two sweet flowers Lilly & Rose 5 and 9 I just had to have two flowers so my garden is filled with roses and lilies
I loved the Chrissy Rose dress
My first choice would be Taylan – after my own daughter. My second choice would be Evangeline – just a beautiful name and I am sure it would be a beautiful dress as well!
MollyAnna- my favorite little girl name
I think your clothing has appeal on many levels, but I prize it most for its vintage, even British flavor. In keeping with the popular new mini-series, Downton Abbey, what about a “Grantham”, or “Edith”, or “Sybil”, or “Downton”? Clothing reflective of a cherished time period?
Posies and Cream
My daughter’s name is Olivia Rose so I think some of these are adorable:
Livie Rose
Lively Livie
Livie Lap Dress
Olivia’s Olives
Golly Miss Molly
My sweet 5 year old’s name is Annabelle Grey! What a fun contest!

I love this idea!
I like the name Lemon Street… there is a street here in Neptune Beach (Neptune is another good name too), where I grew up going to the beach and it just reminds me of summertime as a child.
How about Annie O or Oakley, Wilder or Little House, Green Gables, Ramona, Beverly . Female history literary inspirations. Also, My daughter is Ainsley, someone else mentioned, but my son calls her Ansey.

I love to say the name Sassafrass. It rolls off the tongue nicely.
I love to say the word Sassafrass. It rolls off the tongue nicely and would make a cool dress name.
My daughter’s name is Ashley, but we call her our “Ashley Bear or Sweet Sweet”
Sorry 1 more
Newman, as in pauls eyes for something blue
I would choose my lovely daughter’s name, so I’d call it
The London Charlotte
Joyful Flowers
While I have three girls and I love their names, Caroline, Mallory and Eliza I would love to see a dress named after my grandmother Annabelle who turned 92 this month. She is a free spirited little lady who inspires me daily.
Vera Rose
My daughter’s name, everyone that hears it loves it. Vera was my grandmothers name and I always said if I had a little girl I would name her Vera, My grandma was killed by a drunk driver when I was 30 months old, but she loved having a granddaughter, after she passed away my mom and aunt found clothing for me that she had bought all the way up to size 5. I know if she were still alive she would be having fun buying clothing for her great granddaughter. Rose comes from my MIL it’s her first name.
I would have to have a piece named Ruth. Not only was it my beloved Grandmothers name, but my sweet Jenna’s middle name. It may be an old fashioned name but I love it!
I have a Keira Taylor and a Kamdyn Reese. My littlest one can’t say Keira yet, so she calls her sister, Key Key. Love the baby talk!!
The Dylan
(well, that’s my son but it’s a great name)
My daughters name is Santana. And she has two nicknames, Santana banana and her cheer coaches call her tanners 😀
After having 3 boys I finally was pregnant with a girl!
So what does my husband want to name her? Cole! I said heck no!
It would be a cute nickname, but she had to have a girly name!
So we decided to name her…
Cohlee!
I’m cheering for the name McQuinn. I know it’s a bit unique but it’s a family name and every generation has had at least one person with that as part of their name forever. It can actually be traced back over 500 years when it was MacQueen. Our darling son is Jackson McQuinn (but it’s one of those great names that can be masculine or feminine.)
How about Machu Picchu? I’ve always wanted to travel to this ancient Peruvian city and I think it’s the perfect name for a Platinum piece made with lush greens, velvety chocolate browns, chalky greys, and geometric shapes. And on the personal side, the only other name I’d love to see on a Platinum piece is the nickname my dad gave me as a toddler: Pucca. I have no idea what it means, but I think of warm hugs and “daddy-time” walks when I hear it. Happy times!
MaKinna aka “bubbles”
I have 2 little girls. A cute dress would be the Jacey, or the Gia Ginger dress. Have fun choosing!!!!
Alivia, or as we call her Liv bug! :0)
Alivia%2C%20or%20as%20we%20call%20her%20Liv%20bug!%20%3A0)
the most adorable name for a new platinum piece…hands down….FUSSES. yep, FUSSES….the nick- name affectionately given to our daughter (Madelyn Rose) when she was an infant and had THE. WORST. COLIC. EVER. I’d say, “she fusses all day long, all night long, everyday!” After weeks of no sleep and utter exhaustion… she was anointed with her new name! She’s 5 1/2 now (that 1/2 is super important to these kiddos, you know?) and she is still our Fusses-always will be:-) So, this Platinum piece would have to be ultra girly (definitely pink…light pink at that, Fusses would say!) with a bit of colic added on top…you know, a wee bit o cheeky-ness (btw, thanks for such a fun contest!)
I like Fairchild. Wanna dress it up….you could say Ms. Fairchild. It sounds proper and English-y. My daughters names are Luci & Lola. Either of those would be cool too. : )
Brooks for my mom’s family’s last name! Abbie is my two year olds name is would be a pretty name.
One of my favorite movies as a child was The Sound of Music. I loved the scene when the children are singing, playing, and laughing in the clothes Maria made out of the old curtains in her bedroom. Maybe one of the new platinum dresses would be fitting of the name, Maria, Liesl, Brigitta, Marta, Gretl? Or you could name a dress after my darling daughter, Ainsley, who just started wearing MJ.
How about Norah, Aubree Claire or Adaleigh?
My Fair Lady
Michele–for the middle name my daughter & I share
Puddle Duck
Butterfly Kisses
Maddie Bean ….a combination of both my kid’s nick names
I think you should name it the “Yasmeen”. That’s my youngest Daughter Sadie’s middle name and it is also a family name that we passed down to her. It means Jasmine in Arabic and who doesn’t love the Jasmine?
Madelyn Daisy….my dd’s name
Perfect for a spring line!
My suggestion is “Hope”. It’s a family name…my middle name, my daughter’s middle name and my mom’s name. What’s a life without a little Hope!
I would love to see the next knot named Yasmeen. It is my youngest daughters middle name and it has been passed through my family for generations. It means Jasmine in Arabic and who doesn’t love Jasmine?
How about Saylor Gray?
Of course I like the name Navah. After 6 boys it took a while to pick the right name. Comes from Hebrew and means “to make beautiful”. Perfect name for our daughter and I think it would be awesome for a Platinum piece as well.
Well we have two amazing daughters Caitlin and Makenna, great names right! But we do have nicknames for them we use more than their given names. Our oldest we call “Love” and our little one we call “Bug” put them together and you have “LoveBug” cute right:) Just realized putting them together creates such a fun cute name and what a perfect name for Valentines right around the corner! Thanks for this fun contest.
I also love the name “Goldie” after my oldest daughter, we say she sometimes has the attention span of a goldfish, but she’s just often in her own little world:) She’s an amazing girl always thinking outside of the box, following the beat of her own drum:) Love this girl!
Cheers, Michelle
HI BEAUTIFUL LADIES, WHAT IS YOUR THOUGHTS FOR HOPE” THAT ALL LITTLE GIRLS CAN FEEL GOOD IN YOUR WONDERFUL CREATION THAT YOU GIVE TO ALL OF US AS WELL ” THANKYOU
I would have to go with either Brielle or Genevieve – my 15 month old and due-in-June daughters
I have no idea if this has already been suggested, but the unanimous vote in our house was for Scooby Doo or just Scooby per Addie. A current favorite with our 5 and unders.
Thanks!
My 2nd choice was Avonleigh
My lovely girl’s name is Anna Grace. My nickname for her is sweet babe. She is full of grace and sweetness.
Oh goodness I could sit here all day and think of names…so fun!! Our dd’s name is Kambree and of course we would love a dressed named after her
Here are a few other names I like for a gorgeous dress:
Sweet and Sassy – most of us can relate our dd’s to these 2 words!
Twirlin’ -bc thats what our dd’s do in these gorgy dresses
Americus- from the movie “where the heart is” ♥ that movie and that little girls name!!
I have so many nicknames for my daughter it was hard to choose just one, so I played around with a few of them and came up with these suggestions.
*The Toodlebug*
*The Kennedy Kool Knot*
*The Divalicious Dress*
*The Dancing Queen*
Chelan
Telly
Adia
Annika
Olivia
These are the names of my daughters best friends from schoo.
Wow…I have a really hard time picking just one name especially without seeing a piece to put it with!
Awesome contest idea! Here’s some to think about:
Shella
Corinne
Lydia
Darcy
Hatley
Cordelia
Alina
Good luck with finding the perfect one and I can’t wait to see the new goodies!
Well not in platinum pieces but you have used my name already.. Misty. And you have used my oldest daughters name already, Sara Mackenzie. So, how about Kennedy Grayce?? That’s my baby girls name. 😉
There are so many wonderful ideas above…I don’t know how you will choose. My suggestion would be Frances, which is my daughter’s middle name. She was born 2 days after my father passed away suddenly and very unexpectedly in 2010. We were going to name her Kaitlyn Mary but changed it to Kaitlyn Frances in honor of my father, Peter Francis. My daughter is such a joy and though my heart still misses my dad so much, I know he is watching over her.
I like to watch the dog whisperer and he has a dog on their called “Georgia Peaches” and I love it. My grandmothers name is “Carmella” and I have to throw in my little girls name “Anna Kate”
Brynnley or Brynnley Reese is my daughter’s name. She is sweet and spunky!
What about Scarlett, Lillian or Harper?
I vote for Paige or Page. I married into the name and no one gets it right! I have 2 girls who wear MJ proudly.
My Alexis Eloise and Kylie Nicole. All 4 names are just beautiful in my opinion. However, since I am most partial to my hubby; honoring him for being the best stay-at-home dad I know would be a true treat!
Bugarella or KK (I think the bugarella dress would need some type of lady bug or dotted ribbon trim on it but it would be oh so cuteness)
My little Hannah Grace would love a knot dress in yellow called the “Hannah Banana.”
Thank you so much for the contest!
I have four daughters, Hope, Isabella we call her (Bella), Jayde her knick name is Jaydey Baby and my youngest name Is Madison who call Maddy.
It would be very neat to have a piece of platinum named after one of my daughters as they often ask the name of the pieces they wear!!
My Beautiful Girl is named Swayzie Sloan. Ask her anyday of the week what she wants to wear and she’ll say “tilda jaaane” in a singing voice (she’s 2). It’s the sweetest!! She would be so excited to have a dress named for her!! We might not be able to get it off of her! You once commented on her FB pic around xmas saying she was a precious moments doll and that is the perfect description- she is a precious little doll
Thanks for all your amazing work! We sure love and appreciate you!

Thank you for all of your amazing creations!! We sure love and appreciate ya’ll!!
I love looking at all of the name suggestions; what a great contest!
My suggestions:
– Petunia (You choose such wonderful floral patterns that Petunia seems like a fitting name for a flowery, girly dress)
– Jenny Jenkins (A name from a children’s song that, in my opinion, portrays a spunky and fun girl- very MJC!)
So I asked my 5 year old (Ariana)for some name ideas for a Matilda Jane dress (dresses are her favorite). She suggested:
*Summer Sky
*Bubble Gum
*Skittles
*Pigtails
*Fun in the Sun
*Chocolate Sprinkles
My suggestions are:
*Love Bug
*Peanut Butter Pie
*Little Devil
*Passion Fruit
*Petunia
*Girly Girl
*Butterfly Kisses
*Play Date
*Cutie Patootie
I would love the name of my daughter. Abigail Elizabeth Jane. It took my husband and I ten years to have our amazing twins and when we did we picked the name Abigail and then two middle names to honor our amazing grandmothers. Who doesn’t love the name Jane?
Ivy June. My daughter and the love of my life! : )
My little one is Willie Mae…..named after my great grandmother. When people meet her, everyone agrees that her name is just perfect for her!
Shady tree dress….or my daughters middle name…Reela
Thankyou:)
How fun is this!!! Having a dress called “Lexi” or “Alexis” after my daughter would be very neat! Although, if I was in charge of naming a dress, it’s name would be “Plumeria.” It just happens to be the name of a very beautiful rare flower and since all of your dresses are beautiful and each platinum piece is rare, it would make a perfect name.
If you don’t know anything about this flower, you should google it and you will fall in love too!!!
I love the name Iyla. That is what I want to name my next daughter.
My little girl Emily Rose has the word whimsy / whimsical stuck in her vocabulary. Sometimes it is used appropriately, often not but almost every day she goes in to her closet and says “mommy, my whimsy today is this” and she holds up whatever she would like to wear that day. Each time she does it it makes me smile. How cool to have a dress named for her Whimsy :).
My daughter would go crazy for a dress named after her – her name is Callie – or Callie Sage to be exact. She’s our divalicious 3.5 year old! Oh, I’d also like to submit her nickname – Boogaloo!
My daughter’s name is Laney (after my husband’s grandfather) and we always call her Laney Lou. It just rolls off the tongue. If you use her name, you have to put some dog fabric or trim on it!!! (Just ask Kasey!) : )
I have Mariah (5) and Ada (3) and both wear a lot of MJ so either would be appropriate! but I love that Carter dress and never seen it…any more available?
I think a “Katy Bug” dress would be adorable. My daughter’s name is Katy and she has and will always be my sweet Katy bug.
I vote for “Katie Bug” a nickname we call my sweet girl.
Ellyana. Because that is what I almost named my only daughter (and kind still wish I had…)
Gracyn. Because that is the name we did name her.
The Lyddie after my Lydia Kate
Gracie James
My vote is for Charley or Charlie and Georgia! My Charlie is such a sweet spirit! Have a great weekend girls!
The Abby or Abigail.
The Abby
We also have a Liv and call her Livie Lulu and that would be a great name for a dress!
My little sweetie is named Georgia and we lovingly nicknamed her “Peaches.” I don’t think there is a sweeter name.
Brianna Marie~ for Being unpredictable and sweet all at the same time and loves rainbows and to color them as well. And of course, princess meets horse(even unicorns) is all her as well as above. She comes home from kindergarten and colors rainbows w/ flowers on them and asks me to draw her a horse(YIKES). I then ask for her horse book that shows how to sketch a horse. lol
I have so many of her pictures she has given me that I have cut them into little book mark strips to use in my bible to mark my places for Bible study so I know where to turn to when at the Bible Study tee hee I think I need to relearn the song that I learned growing up “Books of the Bible”? lol I swear(oops~didn’t mean to swear) I am going to teach my kids that song one of these days! amen
I know you have a lot of nominations.. Here is mine.. Asha. This is my little girl. If I had one way to describe her I would say “a friend to the friendless” She is fearless, loving, and always ready to laugh. She has a definite love of life. It would be so special to have a dress named after Asha. Thanks for considering:)
Kamryn!!!
she is a huge Matilda Jane fan & would be thrilled!!
You’ve already had an Alice, which is my dd’s name, so how about an Ali Lou, Ali Bug, or Lil’ Miss Sassy Pants – her nicknames.
My girl’s name is MorganKate…..would love to have a dress named after her.
I have 4 little friends here home from school beacuse it’s Semester Day….their suggestions are: Hubba Bubba, Gargamel, Frannie, Double Dutch, Hollyhock, Jasper, Good n Plenty, and Candid Cameron. I spared you many, many more! We’ve had fun.
Oh I thought of a good one…like Willy Wonka do a theme about the Beatles. So many good choices…Love me Do, Abbey Road, Yellow Submarine, the list goes on and on…
Annabella… Its an old Italian name…We love the old names
Piper!
Neelybird
Neely is my spunky little girl’s name and Neelybird has been her nickname since she was born b/c of the way she used to open her mouth like a little birdie.
My 3 daughters names are Whitney, Taylor and Kamryn…. I LOVE names that go either way!!! Funny story about name, My oldest daughter and I have a “list” of baby names for my future grandchildren … haha We LOVE Sawyer, Hagen and Lennox…. All names can be for a girl or boy
Thank You!! Dana
My four girls are Whitney Anne, Presley Kaye, Gracey Dale, and Lindsey Noel I think they would all be awesome platinum piece names
Evelyn..
Evie..
Evelyn Irene..
;o)
You can’t blame a mother of an “Evelyn Irene” for thinking this classic, yet hip, name deserves a dress of it’s own.. lol.
Butterscotch Pancake Muffin Swirl cause thats the name of my daughters new bunny and she thinks it is the perfect name for a dress to. ….LOL
My daughters name is Elle (pronounced L) Anderson Moses. If I ad another child though I would name her Sloane and a boy Davis.
Love the dres in te fabric it looks very Danish
I have a little girl who LOVES to dress in MJ! She loves to feel pretty and loves to twirl in the skirts and dresses. If I lay out anything other than MJ for her to wear she says “Mommy this is not fancy”! Her name is “Campbell”! The “Campbell” would make a precious dress or twirly skirt!! Thanks Jennifer Hamner
One of my 3 girls names is Lane and we all call her “Lanie Lulu”. I think that would make a cute name for a dress.
I love this contest…and I have to admit I read almost all 458 comments posted LOL…I love the ice cream names suggested (as a second choice :-)) becuase I would love to see one named after my youngest Kaylen Mae (combo of mine and my hubby’s middle names) she also responds to KayMae…every day she ask me if she can wear a matilda jane dress..even today when it’s 13 degrees..her teachers have actually nick named her tilda jane (that’s what she said when she was two and they would tell her she looked so pretty and what was she wearing)!! you guys make getting dressed so much fun for me and my girls..and we of course love every compliment we get!
Hey ladies! I am actually NOT plugging myself, because you already have a dress titled “caroline” for my sweet girl. I am supporting my friend Meredith who posted about “Scout”, her sweet daughter. They also call her “Scoutie Jane”, as she mentioned. How could an MJ dress with a name like that NOT be adorable?!
Rio, name of a beautiful place, and one heck of a Movie/Soundtrack! Got it on repeat for my per request of my second, Brooka Bee.
Madison, or Mad girl as my uncle calls her, not because she is mad, angry, but mad as in silly, says the funniest things, and full of emotion.
Nanner Puddin! My youngest daughter’s name is Savannah. But “we” my hubby, and two older daughters nicknamed her “Nanner Puddin” It’s a fun, quirky and unique name just like her… oh and fun to say. I would love to see a piece named after her.
Just in case…I forgot to put my actual daughters names in my post. They are Rylan Elise & Olivia Grace
Jessamyn- Hoosier author & my daughter’s name
Ruby- my mother’s name
Dottie- name of a friend
Dolly- nickname of an aunt
Adelyn- my granddaughter
Mercer- county of my ancestors
Bonbon = delicate, delicious, sweet!
My little girlie is Stella Mariel, which would also make a loverly piece, lol, but of course I am biased!
The “Rae Rae” Payton Rae is a tomboy head to toe on the inside but loves her Matilda Jane on the outside. She loves the comfort and the compliments! Her favorites – the ruffled pants. The Rae Rae runners?
Ok here we go! Lots to choose from as I am a Mom of 5 daughters~!
Lacey Shinae
Hannah Mae
Cierra Dawn
Shayla Joelene
& Last but not least
Mya Michelle
Trust me you can’t go wrong with any of these beautiful names!
My daughter has an AMAZING imagination!! At 3 years old her imaginary friends arrived: Miss Beezalow, Eega, Veeda, Seeda, and Vye the dog. They live out back in the barn and visit occassionally. I think these would be very creative and adorable names!!
I thought of the following names as well:
The Emma Ann
Reigan Ruffles
Lindsey Louise
Lollipop
Hadley Halter
Sweetie Pea
Happy name searching!!! :)))))
I’d love to see “Brynna in Blue”. Brynna is my sweet daughter who adores your clothing and she loves the color blue. We’ve swooned over Prim, Fruitopia, Palmyra, and Plum Pudding, all beautiful pieces on their own, but also all containing those beautiful blue colors we love. I’d love to have a piece named after her with her favorite color. It’s like a new take on “Rhapsody in Blue” (that one works too, but of course I’d prefer her name) 😉
Great contest!
little bee
Another one came to mind. . . The JezeBell!!
My daughter, Jenna, loves “TILDA JANE” : ) I think a cute name for a plat piece would be of course..Jenna, a few others I like are
Maylee or Mayleigh

Brenna or Brynlee
We have one child, a super sweet girl named MIRIAM KATE! But, if we had another her name would be CLEMENTINE, a sweet name and a sweet fruit. I love both these names!

My girls are just plain Lailah Brooke and Cailey Bella too!! Would just adore a dress named after either one! (ps… they love BLUE and Thomas the Train)
My little sister, Maureen Clare, goes by “MoMo”. We think it’s pretty cute:)
We love MJ. My oldest daughter is Mckenzie Marie and I’m 5 months pregnant with Maddison Avery.
My granddaughters favorite question is why? So how about the Why Knot?
I have two girlies with MJ-like names, so here are my suggestions:

Lillybug
My 4 year is old is Mckenzie Marie and I’m 5 months pregnant with Maddison Avery. My poor hubby is stuck with girls.

Je t’aime(means I love you in french) Because I love MJC!
Hi girls! Not sure if you are just looking for our daughters’ names, (Leighton Chloe is my little sweetie’s name) or if you are looking for cool original names to use. I would love to suggest Aloma (uh-LOW-muh) as a new name. This was my grandmother’s name. She was a twin when she was born but they didn’t know it (my Great Grandma had 3 sets of twins – yes 3!) and they only had one name picked out so they let the midwife decide and this is what she came up with. Nice, huh? Her nickname was Lomie which I love too. My mother’s name is Loanna (a combo of Lomie and Andy (her parents). I’m just plain ol’ Carrie. My grandmother died in 1986. How cool would it be to have a dress for Leighton named after her Great Grandmother???
Leighton would be a lovely dress, or Hobo!!! I’d honestly love to get name a bag
Lolla or Lollapalooza 😉 (her nickname)
Fletcher’s Flutterby is my suggestion for a serendipity piece.
My suggested name is “Fletcher’s Flutterby” after my son (who has lots of friends who wear MJ) and a Serendipity series book I read as a little girl and read with my niece who loves her MJ.
My daughter’s name is Claire Elise. We ususally call her Claire Bear but I’m pretty sure there was a hat already named that. So I think Claire Elise would be a great name for a knot dress with a Parisian theme or with toile fabric.
Kennedy- an American classic!
My daughter is Lovely Lauren 3yrs old
Quinn & Juniper are cute too…
I jam enjoying reading everyones names as much as i enjoyed submitting mine. Jst wanted to share that i am amazed by all the kamryns! My kamryn rae is 13 and we still call her kamigirl. Also love the name neely! Need to know if she was named after cam neely? Another name i loved was holland, had a friend holland years ago & the story was her parents named her hope our love lasts and never dies, always thought that was so cool!
Delia or Lucinda
Cotton Candy
Jackie
Roselyn
Angel Kisses
Euphoria
Sweet Honey
My oldest has had FOUR pieces now named after her!! (Yes, she would tell you they named them after her ha). Two ellies, one platinum puffer, and one of the prettiest knot dresses MJC ever made – her name is Violet
So, in the interest of fairness, with little sister now coming up on two and her Matilda Jane awareness surely coming of age, it would only be fitting that you one day name a piece after her: Ivy. I think English Ivy is catchy. Or Ivy in the Roses
Sweet Ivy!
She loves MJ clothing!! She is my little shopper….
Here are the names of the sweet girls in our family
My girls:
Scout and Sailor
My nieces:
Baylie, Bryalee, and Bostyn
Oakley
Some pretty cute and different names 😉
Enjoy!
CRICKET……named after my junkyard dog……she’s so ugly that you can’t help but smile when you look at her!
So, I my kids and I had a smiley face bday party for my husband. We played a party song that we love over and over dedicated to him. So my name suggestions are short phrases from this song that make us think about what we love about our Family.
“Smile like the sun”
“Better than the best”
“You make me shine like gold”
Thanks MJ for making us smile too!
What do you think of Rosie Doodle? Or Rosie Doodle-pop? Its a nickname we have for my daughter Brooklyn’s beloved dog. She adores her dog & she adores her Matilda Jane dresses! Brooklyn is always trying to get me take photos of her & Rosie! Nothing cuter than seeing those two cuddled up together under the covers!
My two twins would love it to have a Platinum Matilda Jane dress named after each of them! Their names are Avery and Alexandra…you came close once with the Tegan dress, as that is my son’s name although he did not care to wear it sadly! Great contest idea…you ladies are lots of FUN!
Winky Sugar-this was my nickname when i was a little girl-it would make the perfect name for a fabulous, fun dress! : )
winky sugar-this was my nickname when i was a little girl-would make a great name for a fabulous, fun dress! : )

My daughter has a pretty original name so Camya maybe….
My daughter’s nickname “KK” short for McKenzie
Well considering you have already had “Greta” and “Elin” (my older daughter’s name is Greta Elin), I’ll have to nominate my younger daughter, Marin Lise (Marin pronounced like Karen and Lise pronounced like “Liesel” from Sound of Music but without the “L”
I love picking classic but unique names for my girls and love that you pick them for your clothing too! My Greta can’t believe she has a “Gretta” skirt in her closet!!
My daughter’s name is Anna Claire. I can just imagine a dress with her name being of the softest pasteles and just a touch of sweet southern charm.
My daughter’s name is Anna Claire. I can just imagine a dress with her name being of the softest pasteles and just a touch of sweet southern charm.
Madison Brooke is my 6 year old sisters name
She would be THRILLED to have a dress named after her!
My five year old daughter, Kaydra, knows all the names of her Matilda Jane clothes. Everytime we get a new piece and I say the name of it she says, “Oh that’s a cute name.”
A few of our favorite names are:
Kaydra (of course)
Katarina
Katie
Daisy
My five year old daughter, Kaydra, knows the names of all of her Matilda Jane pieces. Everytime we get a new item, she will ask me the name of it,and then she will say, “oh that’s a cute name.”
A few of our favorite names are:
Kaydra

snickerdoodles, gingersnap or i have always called my oldest, chicken pot pie. their real names are Silvey and Ginger.
“Jilli Brown” Our daughter, Jillian Hope, is the first girl after 3 boys. Because of this, she is spoiled rotten and can be a bit naughty. We have song we sing when she is acting out and it usually makes her stop screaming/crying/fighting with her brothers, etc., etc. It goes, “Bad, bad, JilliBrown, baddest Jilli in the whole darn town…” Yes, same tune as Leroy Brown. I think Jilli Brown would be a good name for an MJ piece!
Aloha
Rainbow sparkle ( suggestion from my DDs Bella & Gabi)
Heaven
Flower pop
Shanti
How fun lol!
Isabelle Rose or Swirly Girl because ever since she learned to walk she has swirled and twirled everywhere she goes, which is why she Loves Matilda Jane – they flow and swirl right along with her
Well, I love boy names for girls! One of my daughter’s name is Kooper and I love that name. It is fun and something to remember… We call her Koop or Koop a Loop. Love her name because it makes me smile!
I Nominate Nora and Kate as names. I was born after my grandmother (dads mom) died so to honor her I was given her name as my middle name. My first daughter was born just after my dad died suddenly so I wanted to honor him in the same name. But his name was Edward Steven – hard to get a girls name out of it. So I named her Nora, because the best way to honor a man is to honor his mother. To continue the story, when my second daughter was born we struggled to find a name. I’d always loved the name Kate for its simplicity so we named her that. When she was two we were at my moms cleaning out my dads things. Out of the blue we found my grandmothers passport and made an incredible discovery. We always knew her first name was Nora but that day we found out that her middle name was Kate. We all cried because we knew, or really we confirmed our belief that my dads spirit lives on in my girls, Nora and Kate. Thanks for listening to my story!
My baby’s name is Ella Vivian named after her great great Grandmother and great Grandmother. My father nicknamed her Ella V.

My youngest, Ella Vivian was named after her Great Great Grandmother and Great Grandmother. My father nicknamed her ELLA V.
I have to go with Sydney Raine after my beautiful, spunky 3 year old!
My daughter’s name is LAVIN!! I love it as it is my maiden name and it fits her to a tee! Lavin is an outgoing, happy little go-lucky girl! She loves to twirl – so ellie dresses are her favorite – because of their twirl factor!
Nora Caroline is my daughters name but I think “Sweet Caroline” would be a super cute name for a little girl dress!
“natty cake”
this is what i call my 3 almost 4 year old daughter, natalie!
I have 2 gorgeous girls and 4 great names…LILLIAN KATE and EMMA ANN (emma is 7 months and should be recieving her first mj pieces any day now from the last sale!) I also have to give love to the best kitty ever who recently passed…sweet LILAH JANE. We miss her everyday, she was one classy cat!
Callie Grace or
Taylor Sayge
I love, love the colors of that MJ PIECE
Sweet little girls names are among my favorite things but 717 comments is an absolute ton of reading. So…I apologize if this has already been suggested. I think the absolute most perfect name for an amazing new mj dress would be the name of someone humble, creative, brilliant, gracious…a wee bit cheeky? A name like…Denise?
I would love to have Denise dress. An instant classic….
My name would be “Emmie” or “Emerson”
I love ‘The buttercup’ or after my sweet girl Annie Kathryn ‘Annie Kate’ for short! Buttercups are so cheerful just like my sweet baby girl!
Sara-Katherine is my little miracles name. She will be four in March and loves her Matilda Jane.
When my daughter was born my son was 20 months. He spent her first 6 months home with me helping to care for her. He would get her bibs and burp clothes when I was feeding her and loved to be a helper in any way. He cheered her on when she was learning to roll over. He would yell, go Gracie Boo, go. Almost 2 years later, she is still Gracie Boo. I think Gracie Boo would make an adorable dress! And, if you don’t like Gracie Boo, how about a Betty Grace after the greatest grandma ever!
My daughter’s name is Julianne Camille, but for some reason my brother has always insisted on calling her “June Bug”. I never could figure out where that came from because she was born in September, but my motto has always been “just go with it” so, we do. 😉 When Julianne was barely old enough to talk her uncle came over and, as usual, called her “June Bug”….so she says “NO it’s Julianne…just Julianne”. It’s become somewhat a tradition over the years (she’s 6 now) for them to go through this little ritual each and every time they see each other. “Hey June Bug”….”It’s Julianne, just Julianne”….”Hey Just Julianne!” And then she dissolves in a fit of giggles.
Sooooo, my vote would either be for “June Bug” OR “Just Julianne” in honor of my daughter and her unique and silly relationship with her Uncle Joseph.
How about my daughter’s names–Kellee and Kylee, or after my Grandma–Izella.
I asked my three girls for some help and they came up with ours! “blue Lola” this idea came in honor of their papa who is battling stage 4 cancer and had surgery Wednesday. It’s a combo of his beloved cats which my girls adore along with papa of course! We would love this dress!
I asked my 3 girls for help and they came up with Blue Lola. This is in honor of their papa who is battling stage 4 cancer and had another surgery Wednesday. This is a combo of his cats names. The girls adore the cats as well as papa of course! They would love to wear the Blue Lola!
SO fun!
We call our girls Mags and Lil’. Margaret and Lillian officially.
Lots of wonderful names to choose from…my choice would be Melissa (for my mom). She never met my daughter but I know she would have appreciated your funky, fun clothing and loved seeing her granddaughter dressed up in Matilda Jane.
How about either “At Last” or “Etta J” in memory of one seriously awesome R&B singer? Who didn’t want to dance to that at their wedding?
oh, oh, oh or “The Wallflower” Etta James first recording. How cute for a flutter?
AmyLynn
My daughters name is Lilly Kate….which is a perfect Matilda Jane name, however we call her Lillybug. I think it is pretty cute too!
My daughter’s name is Lilly Kate…which is the perfect name for a Matilda Jane dress. We also call her Lillybug, which I think is pretty cute too!
Piper Cakes! – My daughter’s name is Piper and for some reason my husband and I always call her Piper Cakes. Sounds like a great name to me!
Piper Cakes! It’s what my husband and I always call my daughter Piper. Sounds like a great name to me!
Bunny Bear
My girl’s name is Gabby (Gabrielle), but I call her bunny bear. It would be fun to have a dress named after her. But I also like “Mia” and had we had a second daughter that would have been her name. “Pure Honey” also sounds nice. And “Salt Water Taffy”. Maybe I’m just getting hungry. 😉
Giana Paige
Sophie Isabella
My precious girls are Claire Elise and Kyla Grace. Also love our sweet
friend Carmella’s name for a little top or dress!
Alphiba and or Galenda from Wicked!! Alphiba could be a green item after the green witch and Galenda after a pink piece!! Love me some Wicked!!
My youngest daughter is named Megan Frances. Frances is after my late father, Francis.
Frances would be a super cute name for a dress.
I think you should name something “Sole~Fizz”
(meaning Unique~Sparkle…which is exactly what your line of clothing is…and your company and clothing brings that Unique Sparkle on many faces!)
How about Along Came Polly, Little Dipper, or Brooklyn?
Killian Rose is my darling’s name. Her name means little warrior…She is an MJ girl…everyday; through & through. Perhaps every mom feels this way, but when Killian Rose is in her Matilda clothes, I feel like you designed them just for her…they’re that perfect:)
Peyton (she’s a size 2) or Elle (she’s size 4)-these are my daughters, but I also think my friend’s beautiful daughter, Mylana would be perfect! She is size 8.
A few ideas:
– Atley (my daughter’s name)
– Anne
– Green Gables
– Avonlea (all after the spunky Anne of Green Gables that I just imagine my daughter will be like and I loved watching as a little girl!)
Eleanor Jayne
Emma Rose after my 4 year old or Emma’s suggestion Mimi named after her dolly.
Maureen – after my mom for a pretty St. Patrick’s Day dress. Or Annie-Belle and Lacey-Lou my two favorite puppies. And of course Abby Kate for my sweet daughter.
oh!! and for my late little brother’s peanut princess (who stays with us much of the time,) *McKenna* (her middle name is Jane
)
I handed my daughter a pair of sienna shorties that came in the mail today…to my surprise she was not pleased they shared her name! Apparently she would like to be the only Sienna (too late). So instead I will enter the new name for our cat…KIT KIT…I promise it sounds much cuter when my 2 year old daughter says it.
I hope no one has posted this! I read this earlier when you had about 200 comments and I liked a lot of them. It made it hard to think of one. Well it came to me…don’t laugh!
What do 99% of kids LOVE?
Mac&Cheese!!!!!!!!!!!!
With some golden fabric???

“Olee Polee” Knot??! Everyone calls my Olivia “Olee”:)
My daughters name is Adora which means beloved, or God’s gift. Adora Rose would be a sweet name for a sweet dress.
Emma Rose after my 4 year old or Emma’s suggestion Mimi after her dolly.
oh WOW! Thank you for sharing – loved hearing all about what you girls put into Platinum! Hmmm…how about my daughter’s favorite nickname – Apple Blossom! Can’t wait for the new Platinum!
I have 3 girls, Margaret 6, Eleanor 4 and Ada 1. Gotta say, I know you have had a few Ellie and Maggie dresses now its time to bring on the Ada! (Ada, named after my great grandmother Ada Pearl)
Thanks for a great contest! There are already 2 MJC pieces with my girls’ names on them: Audrey and Faith
So why not pick Sabrina or Grace too?
I also love my grandmother’s name: Lily
Kalliope. It means beautiful voice in Greek.
How about the “little miss Gigi” named for our very own Maggie, as coined by her sweet little two year old brother, who can’t quite seem to pronounce it any better….little miss gig has been working extra hard lately to be comfortable in her own skin, and a little MJ piece does wonders to cover it all up!
You should name one Brinley after my sweet, spunky, spitfire of a girlie :)She’s the only girl (and youngest) out of four kiddos
Hi Platinum Ladies, my contest contribution names are the following:

My daughter’s name is Harper Scarlet, one of the sweetest gifts I’ve been given.
I commented on the blog but this came to me last night. I think you should name a peasant or ellie top “LOTTERY”. Because every time I score or catch platinum I feel like I’ve hit the lottery
Have a blessed day!!!
How about KIRBY ???…..Its my moms maiden name..a wonderful tribute to a wonderful woman….
My sweet 4 year old daughter and I are Matilda Jane addicts! Her name is Lila grace and I think that would be a great name for a Matilda Jane piece. She calls any piece of clothing she wears whether Matilda or not her tilda Jane. She also ask me if gg ( my mom) bought me tilda Jane to wear when I was little!! Lol
Here are my kids nicknames:
Paige is “Paigie-Doodle”
Isabelle is “Busy Izze” and “Izze Bug”

My lovely six year old is named for her grandmothers, Lila Grace. She is the sweetest and most kind-hearted girl. It would be wonderful for her to have a dress named for her. My pet name for her is Coco.
Raegan Mary
Rachael
Magen
Melanie
Susan
Pamela

Zoey
Chloe
Ashlynn
Samantha
Natali
SheyLynne
Kalista
But my favorite… Hannah Joy! My daughter!
I hope this helps and you find the perfect name!!
You’ve already used both my daughters’ names, so how about my youngest’s Chinese name, Meiyan? (pronounced may-yen – pretty, right?) Maybe if you had a little fabric with an Asian feel to it… 😉
I don’t see my comment so going to try again. My little girl Emily Rose has been fond of the word whimsy/whimsical since she was two. No idea where she picked it up but she uses it all the time sometimes appropriately, sometimes not. Every morning she goes in to her closet and says to me “mommy this is my whimsy today” as she points to the outfit she would like to wear. It always makes me smile. How perfect to have a whimsy just for her :).
Giovanna and Fiorella
Strawberry character names would be cute as well
Strawberry shortcake
Orange blossom
rasberry tart
lemon meringue
Mint tulip etc. etc.
I hope one of your lovelies looks like a Lyla Grace. What a fun contest, hope to see lots of the fun names suggested here used. Very cool and exciting. Thanks!
Piper Elise is my five year old daughter’s name. Its perfect for her. She’s cute and bubbly like a Piper but also classic sweet like an Elise.
My niece’s name is Novalee. Like from the movie “Where the heart is”
My daughter who is somewhat reserved in a crowd loves her MJ because it gives her something unusual and fun to talk about when she isn’t sure where to start! She would be the perfect dress….Grace Evelyn
My daugther who is a little shy in a crowd loves wearing her MJ, it gives her something to feel good about. She loves the feel of the clothes and she likes to dress “fancy”. She would make the perfect dress….Grace Evelyn
I have 4 daughters
Mia is 8 I call her Baby Lou, and Candy Bones
Ivy is 17 months I call her Ivy Bean, and Ivy Estella
I have a angel baby born sleeping named Clover Addison
and I am preg with Quinn Novelle
I Iove looking at the moon on a clear night, how it illuminates so perfectly.

My 3 girls are:
Annelise Rose
Julia Grace and
Katrin Trasie
fun!
We brought our daughter home from Korea this summer and I just received my very first Matilda Jane dress from a group of adoptive Moms from my school who were following our adoption journey. Its my favorite piece of clothing and has its own treasured spot on its own special shelf! LOL! My idea for dresses come of course from my daughter… What a fun contest. Thanks! -amber
*Adelyn
*Peanut Gallery
*Heart and Seoul
*Kimchi
*Lil Miss
*Red High Heels
“amusement” as in I feel like I am in an amusement park on a roller coaster as I watch platinum pieces appear and disappear before my eyes and i can not catch them…ha! also a good name for a whimsical piece:) or maybe “evasive”
“Whimsy”
I have fraternal twins named Katherine and Addison. One is blonde and the other is brunette…so maybe dresses that are not alike, but coordinating? Does that make any sense?
I have three year old fraternal twins named Katherine and Addison. Addison is blonde and Katherine is a brunette…so may e two dresses that coordinate with each other??
I forgot to mention that Addison’s middle name is Paige and we call her “Doodle Bug.” Also, Katherine’s middle name is MacKenna and we call her “Lady Bug.”
I’m also a huge Harry Potter fan, so how about Hermione, Ginny, Luna, Lily, Bella, Petunia, Hedwig…
We call our sweet daughter Katherine, “Katie Kat”. She’s playful and sweet just like MJ dresses.
One of the sweetest ideas I have ever heard of! My daughter is 19 months and calls MJC “Audrey’s Fashion.”! Having a item called “Audrey Kate” would totally make her day!
The best name that comes to my mind is “camdyn” after my 5 year old only child Camdyn! I was only 18 when Camdyn was born and to many this would have been looked at as a negative thing but she is the best thing that has ever happened to me, she keeps me going and without her I dont know where I would be! The media sheds a negative light on teen moms but since having camdyn i have a wonderful job, graduated college and have the life i always wanted. i believe it was camdyn that actually pushed me to do al those things and become the person i am today! for that I am extremely greatfull. Her smile lights up a room just as her smile lights up when we receive a new beautiful dress from mj! I couldnt think of better name for a new platinum piece and hopefully put some smiles on other little gilrs faces as well!
somehow my comment didnt post but in a nutshell:
Camdyn- my 5 year old daughter camdyn has the biggest mile i have ever seen! The smile on her face melts my heart everyday! I would love to see a dress named Camdyn and would hope that it puts a smile on other little girls faces as much as hers!
How about Eleanor? That is my spunky almost 4 year old’s name. I love how it is both classic and unique.
Aliana Azul
My daughter’s name is Grace Isabella but ever since she was born I’ve called her my “little pumpkin”…she was a preemie and only 5 lbs., not to mention very, very jaundiced…she just looked like a little pumpkin to me…cutest little pumpkin ever. Of course, I’m not biased or anything 😉
My sweet 19 month old daughter, Audrey, has white blond hair and very blue eyes. My husband and I call her “Blondie” and my parents call her “Blue,” I think “Blondie & Blue” would be an adorable name for a dress! She loves her Matilda Jane! Calls it, “Audrey’s Fashion!”
Kamryn, or Navy Bean (that’s her nickname since her middle name is Navy)
What a fun contest!!! My daughter’s name is Reagan, so I’d LOOOOOOVE to see a beautiful piece named after her!! Other suggestions: Emery, Kendall, Sand Dollar, Parade of Hearts, love bug (for Valentine’s Day
), purple pearls, and pretty picture. Thanks for the chance!!! That was fun!
Isabella Lillian my sweet girl!!
My sweet gal is Georgia Charles (Charlee). Georgia after her paternal grandfather George and Charles after her great-grandfather.
Baby Ruth, the nickname for our toddler Norah Ruth. She loves it!
Miracle:)
My little girl’s name is Taylor so maybe a Taylor Tank? Or a Taylor’s Tailored Dress? Or Taylor’s Togs?
Azia-Rain! Or Azia for short.
My daughter is the only girl in a trio of boys so she loves her girly Matila Jane!
Or my niece Paisley Jean. I actually don’t think she has any Matilda Jane yet, but of all my dozens of nieces she would be the one most totally thrilled to have some awesome piece named after her, & I think her name is a perfect fit.
My little girl’s name is Taylor so maybe a Taylor Tank? Or Taylor’s Tailored Dress? Or Taylor’s Togs?
What a great idea for a contest!
I have 4 girls and here are their names:
Abbey Rose
Maddie Lynn
Lila Jean
Olivia Grace
Totally being unoriginal and using my daughters name, but how cute would a little Nora Knot (or Ellie) top be?? Come on MJC, can’t deny the cuteness!!
Allie bug
Sissy
Mouse all the names I call my best girl!
I say ‘Addy’ would be the perfect name for a sweet girlie little dress!
Chocolatte
Taffy
Poptart
Sugarplum
Cotton Candy
Biscotti
Pina Colada
Mojito
Lava
Hot Lava
Rowan!
We have lots of nicknames but these are the ones that stick..nothing close to their real names!
My oldest….sweet cheeks
My little one….twinkle toes, sweet baby
I think the sweetest name for a platinum dress would be honey. The thought of honey just makes you feel warm inside. Sweet like the little girls we are dressing with a touch of love to help the medicine go down.
Desi, we had the carters stand at school too. I am dying to know if u went to Ball State??
**Nila Grace** or just **Nila** pronouced NY-La not neela
she was named after her great grandFATHER!! who knew such a cute little girl’s name was actually a man’s name
Since you already have a Bailey (which is my little girl after three boys) I am going to go with a few nicknames she already has at three months.
Sweet Cheeks (you should hear my two year old little boy saying “Hello Sweet Cheeks!) Cutest thing.
Then there is Pumpkin Pie when she is being good and Pumpkin Spice when she is being naughty. She was born in October hence the Pumpkin reference. Those would be some good fall dress names
Good luck choosing there are lots of good names.
Honey Boo Boo!
Little Yi–for any Asian inspired pattern/design. Yi has been used as part of the middle name in my family for several generations.
How about “Eden” after my little HoneyGirl! Or even HoneyGirl!
We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first MJ dress for her first birthday! So exciting!
My suggestion is Fia because it is my daugter’s nickname. Her real name is Sophia.
I have an adorable, precocious little 3 year old Coco Juju (Chloe Judith)!
Okay,I wasnt going to do this because while I find “names” totally inspiring. I also find it incredibly personal and almost dangerous…(does that make sense) But a friend has encouraged me to share my sweet little girls name. Piccolina. Which in Italian means “real small or very small”. Her true name is Phoebe but when she was first born, her and I had to be hospitalized for a while and my sister had come over from Europe to babysit us. Over there (France/Italy), they sunbath the babies under mosquito nettings and everyonce in a while go and wrap them up and snuggle them all the while saying “oh Piccolina” and then back under the netting. My sister said…she looks just like a Piccolina. Well a few weeks later the name just came to life with her. and although her name is Phoebe…She goes by Piccolina to almost everyone and at 2.5 she is just called Pickle by her brother and sister, ok and my husband and I too. So I nomintate Piccolina for a lovely name for a dress….Thank you for considering
My 7 year old daughters name is Liberty….she likes to be called Freedom, Moonbeam, Victoria and Le Chat!!!
Norah
I like the name Lola Blue. Or Sawyer’s Smile.
I like the names Lola Blue or Sawyer’s Smile.
I really love the puppy trim on this and my puppies name is “Sierra” so how about something with that name
I like “Sweet Sierra”
How about…
Alabaster
Happy Poppy
Ardor
Little Lovie
Dewdrop
Robins Egg
Sunnyshine
Pippy
Pipsqueak
Pinky Promise
Spotted Fawn
Small Fry
Good Morning Sunshine
Glitter Fairy
Twinkle Toes
Thanks for including us
We love our MJ!
I also call Ivy – Gummy Bean
My 8yr old dd suggested Lickety Split, Mr.Flup(her kitty Loki that died), and Moonberry
I would, of course, be quite partial to the Stella Claire after my spunky, sweet, little. Her name means so much to us, holding a story too long to tell here, but it’s a good one
What a fun contest!
Kamryn, or Navy Bean (that’s her nickname since her middle name is Navy)
Oh nothing super creative, but my daughter’s name is Brynley and how fun to have a dress named after her!
The perfect “Brynley” would be twirly, bright (with lots of pink!) and just make you smile every time you see it
As a mother to ten amazing children I’ve taken great care in naming our children. When we found out our youngest was a girl I searched long and hard for the perfect name. I knew it when I found it. She is Liberty Grace.
My two girls are named Isla Rose and Lainey Jane.
Fletcher’s Flutterby was (and is) my first but since my niece went crazy over the pieces in the trunk show invites, this one’s for her – Livie Roo.
ANSLEY or Pacey because my baby girl had open heart surgery at two weeks old and then had a pacemaker put in about a week later after she went into cardiac arrest. Now she is doing wonderful! Praise God!
Dont know if its been mentioned but you hve a Holly Hobbit- why not an Arwen??? Oh I could have named my daughter that cause I love the lord of the rings!!!! Um… Hubby wouldnt have it so I have a Robyn:) so- Arwen would be a noce tiered ellie- since I never get one and they seem to be elusive!!!!
My daughter’s names are Olivia Alice and Carys Marie.
Junebug (Olivia’s nickname)
Lovebug (Carys’s nickname because her name means love)
I just had t add these names that I forgot…I would love to see these platinum names in a dress…ZIPPIDITY DO DAH,LOVE BUG,DOGGY DAYS,BROWNIE MIX,CITY LIGHTS,RAINDROPS,SHADY TREE,SUNNY D….all these things little girls love
My daughters middle name is ****** REELA,not just because it is her,but because is sounds so beautiful, classy!!! Have a great day:)So count this as my comment please, thanks
I would LOVE to see Platinum name a series of dresses after great “old” (ahem!) nostalgic songs that mean a lot to different folks at 433. So my submission is to name a dress “Anna Begins” from my favorite song on the 1993 Counting Crows “August and Everything After” CD.
I would love to see a platinum piece named Siann in memory of my grandparetns that I love and miss so dearly. It is my daughter’s middle name in honor of them. My grandpa’s name was Silas and my grandmother’s name Annie so when we were searching for the perfect middle name for my daughter, we thought what better name than to combine the names of a husband and wife that meant so much to me and had such a huge influence on my upbringing. I love them so much and can’t wait till the day I can see them again and they can meet my kids!!!
the Addison Grace 😉
Names: macie, anneliese, birds of paradise, isadora, saidie, riverlynn, destiny, and peaches & cream. Best of luck!
How about:
Bee’s Knees
Field Mouse
Gus Gus
Twinkle
Pink Cloud
Rock Candy
Katniss (or) Everdeen (cause I’m really digging the Hunger Games right now)
I know that is a bunch of randomness, but couldn’t pass up this fun contest!
I put in my recommendation for a dress to be named “Nanner Puddin”, on Friday, since that is what we call our youngest daughter Savannah who is 2
Her two older sisters, Abbey and Clara mentioned that they wanted to let you all know that she never gets any “new” clothes for herself and would really like to see her win so that she could have something that wouldn’t be a “hand me down”. I thought it was sweet that they mentioned this. What a fun contest!
My daughters name is Kherington Rae. But since Kherington is difficult for a little girl to say, we have a million nicknames.
Madeline Grace is my five-year-old. She has many identities…
Maddie Moo
Madeline Moo
Maddie Grace
Moo Bird
Maddie Bird
Such a fun idea!! How about Allory? My sweet little 3 year old adorns your clothing daily. She has the sweet spunky sassy personality all wrapped in one little body. I’m sure you’ve got the perfect ensemble to match those traits:). Thanks again to all for creating such fabulous clothes for us.
Ande Nola.
My baby girl’s name is Anderson Nola, but we call her Ande. Anderson is my mother-in-law’s maiden name. Nola is for New Orleans, LA (where Ande was conceived).
My daughter Peyton is a MJC girl! She recently turned 5 and her Pop (my Dad) always called her Possum or Pop’s Possum. The nickname came from a crazy pregnancy dream I had, it just stuck and fit her perfectly. Peyton’s Pop/ My Dad died before his Possum turned 2 years old (we even had a Possum shaped birthday cake for Peyton that year) I am so thankful he at least was able to see Peyton, for the short time they had together (she has 2 little brothers now, one named after him) before we lost him. He was the Best Dad in the world to me and my 2 sisters and Peyton was his very first grandchild. He adored her and would have loved to see her in all her pretty MJ outfits. He was such an awesome girls’ Daddy. So, to make this long story short I would love to see a piece named “Possum” for Peyton’s Pop <3
I nominate Kate Emerson as a new piece because my little “Kater Tator” looked adorable at church this morning in her Bella dress!
Emma Elizabeth…sounds so vintage and PLATINUM!
Twirly Girl for any dress that twirls. A “big deal” for my daughter. She has to be able to twirl. Or Smurfette if a blue dress/skirt per my 4 year old.
Reagan, Averie, Brianna and Presley
Well, I see you’ve gotten so many suggestions for a name and I don’t know how you are going to possibly sift through them all, but I wanted to add CALISTA (aka Kia) to your list. Mostly because it is her 6th birthday on the 26h and nothing would make her happier than having a piece of MJ named after her. It might also help me forget about the fact that she just gave herself a haircut. Yep, that’s right. She now sports a golf ball sized bald spot on the top of her head!!
Nana Bear
Missy Moo
Bryce
Austin…because I love Austin, tx
The Florence (my daughter’s middle name, and my grandmother’s name). Both are sweet, spunky, colorful, and memorable…just like MJ 😉
Merritt! That is our newborn’s middle name and we love it!!
I think Maggie Grace (what we call our sweet little girl for short) would be darling as a dress! Charlie Belle has a nice ring to it, too… And it happens to be the name I am *hoping* to use for a future sweet girl… 😉
Our daughter is Hannah. We call her Hannah Banana from Indiana
‘ the Piccadilly ‘ or ‘the carnaby’
I am an english lady living in south carolina. I started buying Matilda Jane and my daughter has worn it all over London this Christmas, it was so fabulous to see her in the big city on these gorgeous streets in your pieces!!
Sarah Rose
Cracker Jack
Bubble Yum
Orange Blossom
Wildflower
Oh I would LOVE to see a platinum piece named after my oldest girlie….Lorna
See, doesn’t that have a pretty ring to it?
How about Shalom. It means peace and is our daughter’s middle name.
I think that the name, Bennett, is the sweetest name for an MJ piece. In Latin, the translation means “Little Blessed One”, and aren’t we all blessed to have our beautiful daughters wearing Matilda Jane??
; )
Ok—my first response looks to have all sorts of jumbled up codes in it— so let me try again from home computer…. My recommendations are:
Lia–after our sweet lia home 5 months from China!
Hailey- after our sweet Hailey home 6 years from China!
Or- to get fancy—-their middle names (1) Lu and (2) Ying or….
their favorite disney character- MULAN! (hope i can make 5 recommendations) and not be eliminated….
I just asked my 3 year old and she said Fantasticalicious is a word for a beautiful dress
I just asked me 3 year old and she said it is Fantasticalicious … so that’s our suggestion 😉
Well…a tough one! My daughter is Kate…which I believe has been taken! So how about the Lemondrop? One of her favorite things! And perfect for spring/summery weather and bright colors!
Riah. (Pronounced rye-ah).
Raegan
Love my girls!!!
Natisha Heitkamp
Riah (pronounced rye-ah)
Raegan
Love my girls!! Natisha Heitkamp
Paisley Gene
Camilla Addie
Kellee Marie
Kylee Ann
oh and MiMi’s name Georgia Suzanne:)
My daughter’s names are Addyson Rylie and Aubryn Renee. I have yet to meet another Aubryn.
Poppy Kiss, or Poppy Kisses, because my daughter calls her kisses “poppy kisses”. She smacks one on your cheek and makes the POP sound, then pulls back and yells “POPPY KISSES!” I even bought the domain name last year, thinking I would do something with it some day….
And a few of my other faves:
Tiramisu
Cosette
Vittoria
Minerva
Gemma
Serafina
My daughter’s nickname….muffin
Okay my name for a new dress is “Charlie”.
I am just learning the platinum game, but I personally love my baby girl’s nickname. She’s 6 1/2 now, so she’s not really a baby, but right when she came into the world, I couldn’t help but call her Puddin’ Pie. It made me think back to the Cosby show when Rudy would say the name “Bud”, and they still made those yummy Pudding Pops. (Totes wish they would bring those back BTW). So, Parker is my Puddin’ Pie. We call her Pud for short! Thanks!
Okay my daughters name is Ella and we always call her Ella Bo Bella.
Kendall
she would be full of pink and very sassy and she’d fit my 5 year old to a t!!
Got one more—Pap Pap—in memory of our sweet grandfather…(something with flowers- or colors- he loved flowers)!
I would love to see something named after my little sweet one! I am going to suggest a nick name she was given by the nuns in the orphanage in Ethiopia- ” Dilly “, short for Edelawit- it is such a perfect nickname for my princess- we named her Paisley and have kept Edelawit as part of her name- but ” Dilly ” is the nickname I’ve kept for my princess and it is her perfect fit!!
So, this is obviously NOT the name of one of my daughters…lol…but it IS the name of my first “child”…my furry child….my beloved shih-tzu….Smuckers. I know that some of you probably know the love of a beloved pet and Smuckers gave me all that and more. He was by my side through all my heartaches, my many college jobs, he was in my wedding, was there for the birth of my children and he is forever in my heart. He is no longer here with me, but I think of him every day, especially when I look down at the simple silver ring, stamped with his name that will NEVER leave my finger. Smuckers, my once-in-a-lifetime dog

I love this contest and have often wondered when you might do this! My daughter is Aria Vada.
“Aria” is the Italian musical term meaning solo melody, and “Vada” is the name I fell in love with as a kid when I saw the movie “My Girl”. So many beautiful names out there, I give you girls credit for trying to pick just one winner! xo.

Green Dream, Green With Envy, or It’s Not Easy Being Green (Just love those muppets! Although that might be a copyright infringement, says the librarian in me.) St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, and a green frock would be nice to add to the wardrobe in time for the holiday. Plus it’d be a nice reminder that spring is around the corner.
Our daughter’s name is Green. We chose it for four special reasons, hence our love affair with the color.
Sorry, mis-read the blog!
How about the Lady Guinevere?

I would recommend something with the word “twin” in it for a Platinum piece. My twin sister, Priscilla, is my best friend and I was introduced to Matilda Jane by her. Everyone always asks “how I like being a twin”. I never really know how to answer that because I’ve never known it any other way. And how to do you explain that it’s like having a best friend your whole life to do everything you love to do with you…that you can call 10 times a day just to share a sale, what you watching on TV, what you did today? Someone you just NEVER get tired of?
Some ideas are:
“twin”spiration
“twin”sational
How about a dress with 2 names…
Ursa Minor for the smaller sizes
Ursa Major for the tween sizes
OR….
Vintage Lyric Love
And since I’ve had a few more minutes to ponder…

-Cavalier Cutie
-Flowers in the Attic

Didn’t have anything clever until I was at church last night volunteering in the 3/4 room. There was a little girl with the name Annalia! BEAUTIFUl I have students named Hope, Autumn, Mya, Vanessa, Kailan, Annelise and josepheen! My kids names are Ava Angeline and Emma Leigh! Any of those would be perfect to call a new dress and I would be beyond thrilled to get a dress or even give it to one of my low income students. :o)

Fun Name: Golly Jolly
My little one’s name: Grace Willow
Tessa Mae?!
So I’ve always thought the name Shirley would be absolutely adorable for a little baby in this day and time. My friends say she’d come out wearing an old fashioned diner waitress outfit, but I still love it. Name the next platinum dress “Shirley”. I think it’s adorable!
I didn’t read thru all 800 and something comments so if this is a repeat, sorry. I’m a huge Harry Potter fan. What can I say, it started 10 years ago and well, once you’re hooked, you’re hooked. So I would love to see some names from there! Hermoine, Hufflepuff, Quidditich, Millicent, Katie Bell, Bellatrix, Callidora, Narcissus, Elladora, Hesper, Lavender Brown, Fleur, Pettigrew, Perpetua, Petunia, Luna, Menerva, Muggle, Montrose, Ollivander, Padima, Mirabella, Prentice, Pringle, Puddlefoot.
Sorry for the amount!
I would like to submit that names Morgan and Annabelle. Morgan is my niece and is just an adorable little lady. Annabelle is my friends daughter and is cute beyond words and she loves MJC!
I think grandparents have the best names to share. I love Pearl, Layla, Dally, Derby and Gertie.

OK, an idea I can’t get out of my head…a name I am sure we all call our girls sometimes: Chatterbox! What a little lively dress or top that would be!

Raspberry swirl
Strawberries and cream
Chocolate mint
French toast
My daughter’s name is Leah Isabella who we lovingly call “Little miss pumpkin pants”
NADIA or NADIA GRACE- My Nadia is full of life and dreams about being a fashion designer and toy maker. I had to FIGHT for her name though…my husband was set on naming her Kendall (even after witnessing labor) and I KNEW her name should be Nadia. We flipped a coin and Nadia won 3 times in a row. Serendipity!
JUMI or JUMI BLEU …Japanese name…love it.
The Kinley would be pretty cute. She’s fun, intelligent, and comfortable being the only 10 year old in the 5th grade not wearing jeans and t-shirts everyday.
How about Daisy or my daughter’s Chinese name “Ru Yi” which means
“as you wish” ?
How about…Sofia Ning Ning

My littles have the best names 😉 (totally not biased) Sabina and Tea (there’s an accent over the e on Tea but haven’t figured out my new phone)
I have 3 daughters, and know they would think it was really cool if they had a piece of Matilda Jane named after them.
Wendy Riley
~Lanier Grace
~Hunter (yes, as a girls name)
~ Madison
Thanks for considering
Elle Belle for my sweet Ellie or Sofeeva for my sweet little Sophia….this is how she pronounced her name when she first learned it.

I love boy-ish names for girls…like Joey Potter from Dawson’s Creek.:) I named my daughter Maya Drew b/c my husband’s name is Andrew. I think a cute little number named Maya Drew would be fabulous!
Ok, had this under the wrong post, so just in case it didn’t count for being there, here it is again.
Sugar Bean
(my daughter Morgan’s nickname, and the perfect name for a dress for a spunky, smart, girly girl with Platinum blond hair whose favorite color is blue)
You already used one of my daughters names Harper wish I had gotten that dress! Other names I like Sugarbear or Dilyn pronounced like Dylan. Her name is spelled different so I know she would love something with the spelling of her name! We will need that in a 10 please!!! Thanks A skirt will do!
Name: Anna Sophia
Thanks!
Well, my ONLY girl who I’ve only recently come to buy Matilda Jane for (where was I all those years!) is named Kensingten. I love her name! When I was pregnant (accidentally :), I spent hours searching for just the perfect name after I knew I was having a girl. I looked right up till the hour practically. Then, one day, Dave and I were walking through a Target and getting some baby needs for the soon to be day and he saw a frame we liked (being photographers now, it is like serendipity
with the brand name on it of Kensington. He said, “Kensington. What about that for a girl’s name?” Well, at first, I wasn’t sure. How awesome would it be just to tell your child you were named after a frame! After consideration, I couldn’t think of anything more lovely. I adore her name. It is whimsical, refreshing and happy just like her! I switched the O to and E for a brighter sound on the end. She loved recently finding out that her name is on a few road signs and even on a Palace and Gardens in the UK. It is fitting that all the places we’ve seen it are BEAUTIFUL – just like her personality! Sorry for the book, but I figured since all your names are especially chosen and have stories, you should know the story behind my choice. FYI: she is OBSESSED with skirts and is a size 8
Misha
Maycen
Sassy – my daughter’s nickname!
