Not buying it…..

I love my bike. I love my girls who love their bikes. I even love my gal, Jenni, who thinks her bike is better than mine. Truth is, I love her bike more than mine.

On a sad weekend last month, I went to grab my bike to take it for the first spin of springtime only to be saddened. It seems **someone** may have ran into my bike. This **someone** says that my bike fell and that is how the gears and frame got bent. Hmmm, I am so not buying Mr. **someone’s** story. Ya, and to top it off, Mr. **someone** is trying to convince me he needs a 1983 yellow Trans Am. For real? I’m not buying his story and he is so not buying another yellow car that will sit in the garage and cause sad things to happen to my cute bike.

But I may just think about buying a new bike. You know just to switch it up a bit. Maybe. Possible.. We’ll see.

Oh and that darling Penelope Bag? No need to buy it.  I do believe your TKs have one heck of a great Mother’s Day gift for you! Ask them, not me.  They know the details.  I just make the goods!! Okay and while I am a bit witty, I will say Fall is a splendid thing. Oh, my gosh, when Mr. **someone** actually says “wow” you know it is a good thing. He is so picky about MJC. He likes the good ‘ol MJC, the authentic art fair goods from when we first started.  I am quite excited for Fall. Quite.

Oh, and yes, we all know who I am talking about….

Her old fashioned Schwinn with double side baskets. LOVE that bike!

Willa Wren - April 27, 2011 - 5:44 pm

TKJT - April 27, 2011 - 5:45 pm

Eeeek I want a Penelope bag and towel but not on eBay for $200 😉 lol

Margaret - April 27, 2011 - 5:52 pm

You need a new bike!! Buy any bike you absolutely love, don’t even think about price, perhaps buy one just because you love the color! I swear it will be your favorite bike forever. I did this and I still love my bike 10 years later. Mine is pink, I have a matching jersey and riding shoes and a pretty light blue helmet. I have ridden it all over the state in century long bike rides and it’s never failed me. I love my bike. You could get your ‘someone’ a matching bike in transam yellow with the firebird decal on the side. :)

Steph S. - April 27, 2011 - 7:05 pm

Bags! beach towels! Oh my! Oh, my! bTw, I remember the cutest Lilly Pulitzer bike last year…I wonder would you ever design an MJC bike? Hmm…fabulous dream. Would u believe I was never allowed a bike? (protective dad…older brother knocked out every single tooth in a biking accident therefore daddy’s girl wasn’t allowed to risk it-I think I need therapy for that!)…. True story. Fact is I have never even been on a bike-wow maybe THIS is my therapy session. Kinda feels good to unload this-thx gals for listening. Maybe I should look into one myself…tell me, is 36 too old to learn? In meantime, I’m calling Nat about that fab bag + beach towel…need it to dry my tears from this ‘session’. xo

It's me, Betsy! - April 27, 2011 - 8:02 pm

EmilyWood - April 28, 2011 - 5:13 am

My Mother’s Day present three years ago was a brand spanking new bike. Now keep in mind that I hadn’t been on a bike since I was 12 and broke my arm falling off it. The entire neighborhood could her me squealing when I finally got up the courage to test the new bike out. It’s one of the best things he has ever given me!

beautifulclothing - April 28, 2011 - 6:28 am

Yes! OH DAVID! YOU MUST BUY DENISE A NEW BIKE NOW! YOU KNOW HOW MUCH SHE LOVES AND ENJOYS BIKE RIDING! IF HE WANTS A YELLOW CAR THEN YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET A NEW BIKE! HA!

ccinar - April 28, 2011 - 9:16 am

ladybugkaty - April 28, 2011 - 9:46 am

Adorable!! I am begging my husband for a bike…I have been pregnant nearly every bike riding season the last 6 years it seems with my 4 girls! This year I’m not and am dying to go on family bike rides! Hope you convince “Mr. Someone” for a new one!! I’ll keep working on my “Mr. Someone”!!!

Megan P - April 28, 2011 - 11:49 am

Going for a bike ride is the best. Love it! That bag and the towel is beyond cute. Love!

Natalie - April 28, 2011 - 12:56 pm

Lovin’ that bag! Ha, my 4 year old always blames a “ghost” when things happen that he doesn’t want to confess to doing.

Natalie - April 28, 2011 - 1:00 pm

The last time it was the “ghost” was when he asked me for some scissors to cut a fish hook out of his lil sis’s Shasta that the “ghost” hooked. Oh boy, I’m glad I followed him outside before he actually got to cut the hook out!

some perspicacious mommy - April 28, 2011 - 1:42 pm

Lillie - April 28, 2011 - 7:56 pm

Please tell “Mr SOMEONE” I will take the blame for the bike accident if he will send me one of those MJ Beach towels.
I need one to take to Pawleys Island in July.. Plus I will pay to get your bike fixed………….

Aimee - April 29, 2011 - 10:53 am

Denise, if you’re looking into getting a new bike…check out Electra. Super cute bikes! I have a Hawaiian in mint green and I LOVE it!

Jessica Kruger - April 30, 2011 - 11:26 am

I know someone that would feel the same way as you do. I can’t get near his bike. Bike riding is a serious hobby of his :). Anyways, I just wanted to also tell you that I love your clothes. I haven’t been able to get any recently besides a couple that were sold to me by individuals since I don’t have shows here to attend, and I can never get platinum, but one day, I will be lucky ;). Have a great day.

Missy - April 30, 2011 - 12:26 pm

Oh my goodness! How do I get ahold of one of those beach towels??

Elfie - April 30, 2011 - 12:28 pm

Please ask Mr. Someone where we can get a towel!

Holly's Mama - April 30, 2011 - 10:00 pm

I love bike riding!!! I started at the gym though so I don’t ride my husband’s bike as much. I love riding it though. Maybe one day he will buy me a bike so we can go bike riding all together as a family. Enjoy your new bike if you get one!!! P.S. I love fall colors too and I miss the old art fair stuff :) Can’t wait to see it if David likes it…
