On the Move!

Well, we hope you liked yesterday’s look inside our Trunk Keeper Dress Rehearsal. I know I am still on a high from getting to be in the same room with so many amazing women. Today we have even more exciting news…Matilda Jane is on the move! Although the address will be different and the keys are new, the door is always open for friends like you.

The home office has been pretty busy to say the least, but we can’t imagine staying busy doing anything else. Not only have we been crafting designs and pretties for your closet but also packing, organizing and preparing our new home. From 435 to Merchant Road and now onto Centennial Drive we go and we are excited to see what the future has in store.

As you know, this amazing company has grown so much in the past few years and we want nothing more than to be able to take care and support the team, our Trunk Keepers and you, our amazing customers. I am sure many of you can relate…there comes a point when the boxes just won’t pile any higher and the nooks and crannies can be filled no more! Denise’s whimsical and amazing hobby has grown to be this amazing company, oh the blessings and people life brings your way!

As we look forward to the future, we can’t wait to grow Matilda Jane even more and continue to fulfill Denise’s amazing vision. Although there is so much magic in new beginnings, we hold tight to the heritage and nostalgia of the DNA that makes Matilda Jane what it is.  It has actually been so much fun packing up as we have all been able to take a walk through memory lane.  Look at this cute invitation we found from our days at 435.  And these…treasures Denise brought back from a trip to Tokyo.  We are truly surrounded by creativity, even when we move!

We are so excited to share with you all in the coming months our new space as we start to make it our own. As you know we can’t have just a basic office space. 😉 One of the things we are excited about is naming each conference room after different collections throughout the years. How fun is that!? Don’t worry – pictures and more are to come, but I was so excited to share this and I couldn’t wait to share.

Alright, well I better get back to boxing before I leave some things behind. But before I go, I have to tell you that there are a few gift cards that I just don’t feel like packing up…..you think you can help a girl out? So tell me where Denise had her very first office space outside her home, even before 435 and a few of you will get these gift cards sent your way!

Posted on 12/14/2009 and it was gorgeous!! “This is Matilda Jane’s first home at Fairfield Manor (well, MJC actually started right in our house….shipping orders out of our living room). About 1 year ago we moved out of Fairfield Manor and into our current building, aka 435. We leased only the first floor of our 435 building, but today, we officially moved into the second floor as well. Chris spent all day getting that upstairs all cleaned up and ready. We’re very excited….but not too excited about having to carry boxes and boxes of stuff upstairs. The building has a freight elevator…..it just needs to be serviced before we can use it.

Flights were delayed today and we’ll be arriving in Peru a day late. Talk to you soon….”

My first thought was at a local art fair, but I also think her first office could have been anywhere because we all know she liked to keep her creative juices flowing. It could have been anywhere she thought of an idea, in her home, a park, grocery store, ice cream truck, etc. For us blog readers, the official answer may be Fairfield Manor, but I think her first office happened even before she knew it! An office is anywhere you can work and ideas can happen anywhere. 🙂
