These next few weekends your Trunk Keepers will be having bank collection parties so please be sure to stop in to bring your bank and donation. We gotta get a house built!!! And seriously, all it takes is a dollar or 2 from each of you. That is it. You know, if we have close to 25k fans on FB and each gave just 2 bucks we would have enough to build one entire house for Habitat for Humanity. It is such a small amount for each of us and such a huge thing for a family. We have to make this happen. You can also click on the Habitat link on our main website to donate online.
Also, I need to plea for each of you to go vote for Lidia from Tiny Sparrow Foundation. This is HUGE. Lidia is involved in so many wonderful acts of kindess for children and their families. Let’s help her help them.
And you? How can we help you? Well, before I tell you, I want you to first know how excited we are for 435. It is quickly coming together and is getting better and better by the day. Please, if you do not attend a TK Bank Collection Party and do not donate online, feel free to bring your bank. We will have an area set up for Habitat for Humanity. This is a big deal for us. It is close to our hearts and we want to make it happen.
And I also want to make the Pre-Party happen for a few of you that have been dying to come, and what about a shop early pass for a few of you? Let’s make that happen. There are a few fine details. 1. You must leave your comment under the name in which you legally use (tickets mailed must match ID) 2. You must be able to shop at 2:00 in the afternoon on Friday. 3. You are allowed to bring only 1 friend and their name must be given in advance (like on Monday) and 4. There will be a spending limit.
So all I ask is that you go over and vote for Lidia, remember about your bank, donate to Habitat online if you don’t have a bank, and then leave a comment about what you are most looking forward to at the 435 Art Fair.

I have never been to 435 and have only been able to purchase 2 MJ items due to our budget (price I pay to stay with my daughter as much as possiable). What am I most looking forward to about Art Fair? Getting to meet girls from near and far that have made me smile, laugh, cry, get giddy, act silly, have fun, get crazy and everything in between and give them a real honest to goodness hug! That’s the best part — pure adult time with shopping thrown in. Shopping early would be a dream come true — then I know I could DEFINITELY get something for my two sweet girlies to match!

Good luck Lidia! What a great cause!! I am so excited for the art fair! This will be my first year. I love that we can bring our banks. My daughter has been collecting her change and It will be nice for her to be able to actually bring it all full circle. I can not wait to be able to see all of those fab clothes, and finally have a chance to get a few peices, and most exciting of all meet all of the wonderful ladies behind MJC!

My original reason I couldnt wait to go to art fair was the chance to get my daughter some pretties, I discoverd MJ a few months ago and in that time I have made some of the sweetest friends and I get to meet them at art fair! I would absolutely LOVE to look for some knot dress and ellie’s (for my daughter who’s name is ELLIE (short for Eleanor) that have bright red’s and blue’s… love the facebook sneak peek’s. Those fabrics are amazing! I don’t have a lot of money to spend, but just to get a nice top and pair of ruffles for my daughter in bright, fun fabrics… I would look forward to that, if I was able to come shop early!

Getting so exited for the art fair. So much going on now in my life it will be nice to have a break. Its the light at the end of my tunnel now. Today we finished nature preschool. So sad. We will miss it so much. Tuesday we have to put down our sweet 12 year old dog who’s quality of life is rapidly declining. We are about to move to a different state in 2 weeks. Oh did I mention IVF in the middle of all that. And 4 days after we get to our new house I’m taking off to the art fair. I’m sure there will be boxes everywhere still. Oh well. Priorities right!!! I would love to shop early with my sister and my 5 yo of course. My sis is coming from farther than me. She is flying to me and then we are driving the 10 hours… Its going to be such a fun road trip. Please pick me to shop early. I’m already going to the preparty and party. But we would love to shop early. And I will go vote right now. And thanks for allowing us to bring the banks. My son is too young to get it but I’m happy to let my daughter actually be a part of it. We will bring ours…

I hope that I am able to attend the Pre-party with my daughter… When we RSVP’d for the event we accidently responded for 2 adults and 1 child and it was supposed to be for 2 and 2… my 3 year old is devestated because she can’t come…. She is begging Denise and Matilda Jane to let her come….

Am so excited! My bff moved back up from Lousiana and she was my only MJ buddy around. Last year my hubby had to fill in and although he was a great sport and loves the girls at MJC, it just wasn’t the same. She has been going through a pretty hard time, and the leave from Louisiana was a pretty devastating event. This is just what she needs!
I have never managed to buy even one piece of platinum during a platinum upload in my entire MJ buying career! So the opportunity to buy original MJ Art Fair pieces that are not used and/or significantly more expensive than the original MJ retail is absolutely unbelievable! The other thing I am looking forward to is finally putting faces with the fabulously helpful voices at the other end of the MJ phone lines.

It would be cool if those of us who can’t go could shop online on the Platinum site while the others were shopping in person at the 435 art fair but I know it would be too difficult to do for you 435 gals. If I could go to the art fair my favorite thing would be to finally meet you in person Denise after 3 years and see the beautiful one of a kind wearable works of art. I still owe you a picture of my Holly in the Allison dress…I’ll send it soon hopefully. I’m better from that horrible sickness…just trying to catch up on everything now. Have a great time all of you who are going…I know you will! You are all so lucky!!!

We are fairly new to MJC and hate that we have missed out on several years of the cutest clothes!! We are trying to make-up for lost time!! My only daughter is 8 years old so this is our last year for the core sizes

I hate to post something so selfish, but I am most looking forward to some time for *me*. Time to travel a little distance from home. Time to browse beautiful pieces of art. Time to enjoy and savor beautiful colors and patterns and textures. But most of all, the magic of having some time to myself and yet still doing something special for my daughter.
Would so love to be at 435! Beautiful clothes for my angel, tons of fun for me, a fantastic group of ladies and sooo much talent!
Also wanted to share that at my dd’s preschool graduation they played a video of each child being interviewed about what they want to be when they grow up. My 5 year old dd, who has been wearing (only) MJ for years now, replied that she wanted to be a CLOTHING DESIGNER! I am not sure that it can get any sweeter (or more complimentary) than that-you really are an inspiration to all our little darlings!!!!

After a LONG journey of education, this is a perfect well-deserved girls trip with my best girlfriends!! A weekend of shopping, meeting new friends and having a good time, it is just beyond my dreams! I look forward to creating memories that will last a lifetime…….

I just signed up for Pepsi & voted (made husband vote too.) As I told my TK Nicole a few days ago, we’ve been saving $ for the HFH in 2 banks: one my husband puts his spare change in each day, and one for our almost 2 year old. We actually counted it out with her yesterday. Although not a lot, she understands the significance. We’ve showed her pictures of her un-handy mum working on a home a few years back so she actually understands now that her “house” is to help families who don’t have homes like us. She puts more in her “house” to “help doze kids.”
Jewels and I are driving up Friday morning from Chicago & look forward to meeting some of our new friends there at the Hilton.
Although we didn’t get into the pre-party, we’ll look forward to now celebrating her actual 2nd birthday (it’s really on that Friday) with some of the other families we’ve met through our MJ experience at the Ft. Wayne Chuckie Cheese that evening.

I most look forward to our first 435 and letting her pick her own cool ArtFair birthday gift on Saturday as she’s already developing very strong opinions on her own sense of style. She’s a shopper already!!! … God help us!!!!

One of these days Baby, I will make it from rainy WA to Fort Wayne, do an Irish Jig better yet the running man (the whole 9) and then talk to as many of you lovely ladies as possible! I will be coming in from East Lansing. This is my first art fair – I only learned about MJC less than a year ago, and have been beyond touched by how incredibly generous you are. It is a quality we try hard to teach our girls and we believe in teaching by example. So when my girls wear your clothes I tell them about all the people you help. I’m coming to art fair so I can meet you in person. Why would I want to shop early? Because I think it would be amazing to get to meet and talk to you all in person, all by myself! I tend to be reserved in a crowd. So thanks for considering me and if I don’t see you early, I will see you on Saturday!
Would absolutely love to shop early…. you could limit me to one piece… I would still love it! I feel like I have “behind” the shopping curve ball always with MJ as I first discovered the amazing clothing while living overseas… I could only seem to get a piece or two via online auctions… but have tried to make up for that since I have been back in the US (thanks to my great tk mimi!!!) And… I now realize (after hitting South Bend for a wedding last weekend) that I could – seriously – just jump in my car and drive up to 435 for a bit of afternoon shopping… make a few new friends (which is even a bigger bonus!) have a snack – and then back home by midnight! Wonder how I could explain such a shopping trip to my husband…. : ) I think he would understand… he did question why our little one, who graduated from kindergarten yesterday, was not wearing a MJ outfit for the special occasion! I think he is as big of fan as I am!
My “plus one” would be a friend that recently moved back to the US too… she just went to her first trunk show (in South Carolina)… we have not seen each other in nearly 3 years… and have yet to meet each others youngest daughters… what a great reunion/celebration we could have at 435!

Hello Denise! I am a mother to four daughters:) We absolutely LOVE Matilda Jane clothes and LOVE to coordinate. I am so looking forward to meeting all of you at artfair! I am so excited about everything. The Party, the shopping, meeting friends old and new:) Shopping Early would be awesome to say the least, since I have four daughters to shop for this would be a tremendous blessing!!! Thanks for making such beautiful clothes and making everyone of my girls feel special and beautiful! This is my very first time I will be away from my girls EVER. as to what i’m most looking forward to at art fair… before looking at tiny sparrow’s photo/video entry, my answer would have been, “i’m looking forward to a weekend where i don’t have to be everyone’s caretaker… where i can forget some of the sometimes overwhelming details and questions that come from being a parent to a child whose journey is a little different than others… where i can simply lose myself in the swirls of amazing fabrics filled with sunlight and wonder.”
after looking at tiny sparrow’s entry, my answer is now this. “i’m looking forward to a weekend where i am surrounded by beauty, wonderment and energy… all the while reminding myself how incredibly blessed my life truly is.”

Amy Porter I too miss Plymouth! It was my favorite part of every summer! The butterflies twirling in my stomach was such a thrill as I neared MJC’s booth! So pathetic, but I have not been back to Plymouth since MJC stopped coming!
I look forward to the girls getaway with my daughter (she’s been talking about doing it again all year and I am holding off telling her mommy made a mistake and didn’t get tickets in time), and secondly getting to meet all the amazing people that make up MJC, the sale that’s the icing on the cake!

I have only been to one 435 art fair and will never forget the magical feeling when you walk into 435. Denise is definitely one person that I idolize, I remember traveling miles just to go to an art fair that she was a vendor at. Going to 435 and seeing our far she has come, gives me hope to my small business and dreams! Ohhh, and super excited for mommy clothes!

I am so excited to be able to attend Art Fair this year. So many things I would be excited about….meeting all of the 435 girls, meeting the womeb I have met online who love MJ as much as I do, shopping early would be UNBELIEVABLE and probably the sweetest gift ever. I am so in love with all things Matilda Jane and would love for you to meet my little Lily who exemplifies the word CHEEKY and UNPREDICTABLE.
Ahhhh, the 435 Fair! Although I initially went to grab some rockin’ clothes last year, I quickly learned that the whole experience wasn’t just about the clothing but it had more to do with chatting with the other awesome ladies who have such an admiration for what Denise and her crew does. And to meet all of you was simply wonderful. Exchanging stories was fun and there was a lot of giving and taking and helping, and I had so much fun observing it all. There was electricity in the air and I would love to experience it again this year!
Cannot wait for 435, I am so excited to see all of the clothes, it’s going to be a blast. And of course I would love love love to shop early

I love all things MJ! I’m an architect and creating is what I do on a very different scale. So I’m excited to see where and who all these great works of art are designed and crafted by! Oh wow! Just realized that being at the art fair may just be a possibility. My husband is considering letting me use some free flights we’ve had for us to take a vacation…now it would be a vacation to 435! Keepin my fingers crossed!
There are so many reasons why I am looking forward to going to my first art fair. The first is probably meetings all of the friends I have made due to a mutual love for MJC. Also, I am so excited to see the clothes in person before buying them, something that I have never had the opportunity to do before. After what has been by far the most challenging year of my life, it is going to be so nice to go on a road trip with one of my matilda jane friends, meet up with the girls, and shop my little heart out.
So thankfull for an opportunity to have a girls weekend to share with a great friend and meet many new ones! It will be my first girl time away since starting a family 6 years ago! Crazy…maybe…but that’s what we do as mom’s, we put our kids and families first! Thankfull we have supportive hubby’s funding our trip AND providing childcare for our weekend getaway. Ironic that I’m spending my first trip away shopping for me dd? I think not! Looking forward to seeing the home of MJC and of course shopping! Getting to do it early would be icing on the cake! Thank you for the introduction to the TSF! What a blessing that organization is to many families wanting to freeze any memories than can. What a priceless gift to capture that will last a lifetime.

My sob story.My room was booked. Bags packed. Very excited for Art Fair. Then my brother scheduled my nephews high school graduation open house for Saturday in Cincinnati. I had to cancel. BUT I live close enough that I could make it for a Friday at 2pm shopping trip!

I love the smell and feel of the fabrics from Matilda Jane. To see them all together in a store setting and touch them in person, coordinate outfits and then walk out of there with my new outfit (I probably won’t be able to afford much – heehee) would just be such a dream! Of course, I have met so many people online through knowing Matilda Jane. It will be INCREDIBLE to finally meet them and their sweet children in person.

pre shopping for art fair- I would love to have a chance to come early on Friday since my daughter is in a swim meet on Saturday morning and early afternoon that is important to me. As a mom of 4 girls I adore how I can cordinate all of my kids in your clothes but yet they don’t have to be totally matching…not cool for a 6 year old to have to match her 2 year old sister, Ha! I am such a dodo I left my comment with Tiny Sparrow. Oops! I think it is a lovely cause and very worthy. I worked with the pediatric oncology group in a former life before the kiddos. I am dying to come to Art Fair. My wonderful husband has offered to take us and find some fun in Fort Wayne to entertain the kids while I shop. If I could shop early then I would get to enjoy Fort Wayne with them. I am just looking forward to the experience of seeing the fabrics and loving your wonderful designs.
I am most looking forward to laughing, shopping with, and just spending time with my girlfriend. We have gone to 435 the last 2 years and have had such fun hanging out and shopping for our daughters…and maybe a few items for ourselves. After teaching first grade 9 years in Cali, they have laid off me and my husband. Trying to see the silver lining, im thinking this is my chance to make a difference in a new way. Probably outside the rules but since I cannot go I would love to nominate my online friend Brandy Brancato. I met her because of mj and she is just a great person. I know you would love to meet her and since she has three daughters you may be able to set up a few arranged marriages. Even though I have never met her she is awesome-how can she not be? She loves mjc and she’s from NY ;0)
I voted thru facebook! What a great idea! My nephew was diagnosed with cancer last Labor Day weekend. We though he was in remission and 6 wks later he’s back in PICU the past 3 weeks and not doing well this round. I’m going to see if we can do something like this for Ryan, it would be so great for his family. ( And yes I can go shopping early if chosen-will you have boys tees? then I get something for him!)
I cannot even begin to describe how Matilda Jane makes me feel. My daughters never look sweeter and definitely don’t feel prettier than when their wearing MJ. It truly is a sweet sickness to which I am sure there is no cure. Denise you and all the 435 girls are fabulous!

Aaahhh! I am grinning from ear to ear at the slight chance of an early shopping pass. Besides the amazing clothes and time away with my mom, I’m looking forward to meeting the love behind MJC. I want to meet the ladies who are so passionate and caring and loving and giving. I want time with people who want to build a house, send a smile, share some life, help a friend. I want to hug each of your for the work you’ve done and the work you’re doing. I want YOU, each of you who have a part at 435. Because the clothes are to die for, but you girls… (and guys;)) y’all are worth living for. So selfishly I’d like to have you to myself for a few hours. To shop with but also to chat with and give a lil love back to!

WOW… the chance to tell about how crazy excited I am about seeing 435. I love the clothing and love the causes and can’t wait to be be with friends. PS… My three year old sleeps in MJC she says they are softer and prettier than her pajama’s, and she doesn’t like getting dressed in the morning. Can’t wait to see all MJC has to offer for the upcoming seasons.

How sweet! Love the opportunities that MJ offers! I am planning on coming to 435 again this year. Last year, I ended up missing my daughter’s final baseball game, as well as my son’s & Coach Hubby’s playoff games since they were on the same day as 435. I was lucky enough to have my Mother in law available to take my girly to her final game. I remember Denise making fun of me for being there shopping instead of at the games, but now looking back on it all, I’m so happy that my addiction to MJ landed me at the Art Fair so my kids got to spend the whole weekend with my Mother in Law since she sadly passed away a few weeks later. I would love the chance to shop early at Art Fair, as I know we again have baseball games. My daughter’s last game is of course on the same day as AF as well as the boys’ Playoffs. I know it would be much more relaxing for Denise to be sipping her Diet Coke at 2:00 on Friday rather than in the midst of chaos on Saturday, so I would love to be entered for a chance for my friend and I to be able to shop early! I would also love to shoot some pics of the calm before the storm. Love how all the fabrics look hanging all around! (if I shot pics, you could hold my flash card until it was “legal” to show, however, I would not even be able to convert pics until I got back home). Anyway, thanks so much for the generous opportunities you offer! Crossing my fingers for a Friday shopping date!

I guess my love of fashion/clothes started when I was a little girl. I always had a clear vision of what I wanted to wear. We didn’t have a lot of money so my mom made all my clothes. I loved going to the fabric store and picking out fabric, buttons and trim. If we couldn’t find a pattern for what we wanted, my mom would make a pattern. There is something magical that happens in the fabric store when you start putting everything together. Although I never had expensive clothes, I like to think that I had a lot of STYLE. I was voted Best Dressed in Jr. High and High School (not bragging, I promise). I didn’t have expensive stuff, I just like to think I know how to put a cute outfit together. Well, Denise, I love MJ because it’s original. 10 little girls can have on the same knot dress but they can all look different depending on the other pieces. I love the uniqueness of the pieces and the beautiful fabrics, buttons and trims that do MAKE the clothes special. I get giddy when I’m around cool clothes and I think your clothes are COOL. I would love to come to the Art Fair and meet you and your team.

I can’t believe that I’m going to drive all the way from Arkansas to Indiana (never even been there before!) for the Art Fair, but I’m way excited about it! I’ve even talked my mom in to coming as well! I can’t wait to see everything that’s there and look forward to picking up some pieces that are unique! Matilda Jane is not just something you wear – it’s a state of being!

I love craft shows and art festivals. I love one of a kind, handmade items. I think art fair is awesome because it captures that vibe. I have never been able to get anything amazing off of platinum (only good luck trunk) so I would love to get some knot dresses and ellies for my two amazing girls and the third one that is on the way. She is going to have a LOT of challenges and need several surgeries when she is born, so a few pretty dresses in the closet waiting for her will be a balm for our hearts!
Looking forward to heading back to the midwest to attend my first MJ art fair with a special friend from Michigan. Sooo excited to shop, spend time with Kristen ~ who I don’t get to see as often as I would like to. Also looking forward to visiting family in the Fort Wayne/South Bend area. I am so excited to finally be going to 435! It was so hard to know that I was only 3 hours away last year, but couldn’t go. We went to the Indy Indians game wearing our MJ to be there in spirit! I cannot wait to meet so many other moms that share a love for clothing like me! And I can’t wait for Whitley Kate to meet all of you. The girl loves her MJ, and even draws self-portraits with MJ tags on her clothing! Less than a month away from all of the fun!

I have loved Matilda Jane forever. From that first day that I chased a little girl and her mom through a very crowded Thomas The Train event in Union, IL. It took over 10 minutes wiggling through tons of people, trying to get close enough just to ask where her clothing was from. In one small swish, the little girl’s hair moved across her back just quick enough for that BROWN LABEL to be seen. It has been a BIGGER CHASE even since!!! I love what I love!
Every year 435 has fallen on my daughter’s birthday and so I have never been able to come. (Her birthday is June 26), THIS IS THE VERY FIRST YEAR THAT 435 MISSES IT! I want to come to the pre-party SO VERY BADLY! THANK YOU!

Seeing as though it’s the 20th anniversary of the movie Thelma and Louise, my BFF have decided to take a roadtrip from toronto to fort wayne. Looking forward to lots of laughs, meeting friends I’ve only “met” online and seeing tons of the cutest clothes ever in person. We have 4 girls between us who love their “Tilda Janes” shopping early would be like Christmas in June!
Voted for the great idea by Tiny Sparrows. Donated to Habitat a few months back. This will be my 2nd 435 Art Fair. I was an original art fair shopper beginning with the La Ti Da days and hitting the art fairs in Indy and in Louisville @ St. James. I love the art fairs- not that I don’t like the trunk keepers and hosting parties, etc.- but there is something fun about seeing all of the original pieces and picking things out to suit your kids’ personalities. Esp. the one of a kind pieces. This year I am going with my girlfriend and our daughters- it will be so much fun. Would love to get to shop early – the calm before the storm
