So HAPPY

ahh..we have returned only to start planning and packing for the photoshoot…but stress like this is always welcomed. It is all good! Why?

  1. I had a blast just hanging out with Joe today. He is so dang fun to be around (well, when he and Gabe are not fighting).
  2. The energy in Shanghai is incredible and to be lucky enough to enjoy it for a few days is, or actually in a lifetime, is something I never imagined I would ever be able to do.
  3. And to enjoy it with Lynette and Sam couldn’t have been better.
  4. if you are a girl with straight hair, you must buy a crimper. I am in love even if the drunk man next to me on the plane said my hair was “badly in need of a haircut!” YIKES
  5. Saw The Social Network tonite, you know the FB movie, loved it.
  6. So excited to meet everyone in Florida but so nervous I may not be what you think. I really am a bore and not very cool. Luckily Kayla, Sam, and Lynette can make me look good. They are cool.
  7. My boys…no words needed here you already know.
  8. Pan, Iris, Candy and crew who welcomed us like we were family and fed us some of the best food ever. It’s always so wonderful to go visit them in Shanghai.  LOVE YOU GIRLS
  9. All you gals, and maybe boys, who allow me to be on this venture.  And I am speaking for everyone at MJC, you have allowed us to do so many things we never thought possible. David gets to spend more time with his boys, Kayla got a house, Sam went to China, Lynette has built a dream and I just get to do what I always loved, be me and make cute things
  10. Lastly, one extra hour of sleep. I am exhausted and need to get some serious work done tomorrow. Spring 2011 is beyond what I visioned.  I think I have goosebumps.

Shui:)

Ashley M. - November 7, 2010 - 5:25 am

And when you say “crimper” do you mean like we use to do in the 80’s? Is it coming back ? I still have mine:)!! I talked to Leslie my TK, one of your team leaders, she is so excited about FL! Love her!!!! She is amazing!!

Elaine - November 7, 2010 - 5:34 am

Jennifer - November 7, 2010 - 5:39 am

Tania - November 7, 2010 - 5:44 am

I too only know that water is shui from the term Feng Shui! Glad you had a blast in Shanghai, and hope that it warms up for you in Florida!

Ashley M - November 7, 2010 - 5:48 am

Shui:), ready sent a comment, but it’s not showing up now. I was after Ashley , weird!

Amie O. - November 7, 2010 - 5:50 am

Shui is the word…How cute, I see the bamboletta doll peeking out of her purse.

Erin (A) - November 7, 2010 - 6:40 am

Shui. Love the bamboletta dolls, but my daughter is a little rough on her toys to get one. She loves the lalaloopsy dolls ($20 at Wal-mart). Any chance of making some hip outfits for the dolls?

Joy Williams - November 7, 2010 - 6:43 am

I am so glad that this dream is happening for you all at MJC! Have fun on the shoot. If you need any help….just give me a ring:)…I have a couple of fill in girls and a boy if you need them, lol:P…..HAVE FUN AND TAKE IN THIS WONDERFUL TIME! My kids have done photo shoots and the owner is usually full of stress. They always turn out wonderful because the photographer knows the vision and goes with it. Don’t stress, seriously….you have made an awesome product and got a great photographer, and little beauties to display it so just enjoy it! :)

Day to the Oh - November 7, 2010 - 7:07 am

OMGoodness!!! #6 is cracking me up… we’re all feeling that way!!! LOL And I have a feeling that none of us, ESPECIALLY you, need to be worrying about it! LOL Are you bringing your crimper??? So excited!!!! xoxo

christine - November 7, 2010 - 7:26 am

I see a fishy hobo bag and love the bamboletta on the trip!
Some fun action shots to send to Christina? :)

awww man I remember that crimper. Good big hair back then…and BIG hair. Nothing like a crimper and some Aqua Net or Rave hair spray.

“Shui” for water Are you going to have that in your spring title?

Heather farr - November 7, 2010 - 7:36 am

The bracelets on everyone? I would love to know the meaning behind them and where we can find them.
Denise we are going to love Spring no worries! Have fun that is what Matilda Jane is all about.

Deneisha Porter - November 7, 2010 - 7:57 am

I love the pic of Sam and your Chinese employee, not a face of forced labor but of love. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of China and the women you work with. I’m happy for you all and the strides you’ve made personally and as a company. You’ve come a long way and should be proud of yourselves. Thanks for the wonderful clothing and time you take to share your lives with us.

Welcome home girls! Glad you had a great trip!

Jacci - November 7, 2010 - 11:23 am

I just read a book on Feng Shui as I am *trying* to declutter, destress, and finish decorating my house! So, therefore, I know Shui means water (feng means wind). I can NOT wait to see the Spring line! I don’t know how it could continue to get much better, but I am sure you all have pulled it off! :)

jenn - November 7, 2010 - 12:35 pm

My dh says, “wa-ta” hahaha.

um… water sounds like “soy” i don’t know how to spell it though. and I had to ask dh how to say it. that’s cantonese though, i don’t know about mandarin.

I love that you are happy (and have 10 reasons why!) I need to make myself 10-reason-happy too. ;) It sounds like China was a blast and I can’t wait to see the spring pics!

kaydenkaylee - November 7, 2010 - 8:16 pm

Shui, aahhhh now I am thirsty :) Shui is much more fun to say than water.

Gran - November 8, 2010 - 5:42 am

Welcome back (at least for a few days). The picture of Sam and her friend is priceless as I know the friendship will continue to be. Your reasons remind each of us to look for good things that come our way and come to those we care about. Thanks again and your excitement about the spring line is coming through to us!

Sundee - November 8, 2010 - 1:03 pm

Like I said before, I would LOVE to work at MJC!! My husband is a remote employee and we could move anywhere in the States.

The only awesome skill I have is my ability to speak other languages…hmmm…oh, and I am a whiz at customer service and sales! Just sayin’.

Gran - November 11, 2010 - 3:17 pm

Missing hearing from you Denise and Sam on the blog but I don’t think you have been in one place long enough to even get a note out to us. Thinking of you and wishing you safe travels.

Tina M - November 21, 2010 - 8:37 pm

Ahh Denise…you have no idea how cool you are! :0)
