OK, we couldn’t pick just 10 or 12. So here are the Top 14. Check them out down below. Each one is unique in its own way. We looked at each and every entry…over 300 in all….and decided on these Final 14. Some are very simple, some are quite elaborate. But all of them struck a chord with us at 435. They are listed in alphabetical order.
Once you’ve read/viewed the entries at the bottom of this post, head over to www.matildajaneclothing.com to vote for your favorites. BUT DON’T GO VOTE UNTIL YOU’VE CHECKED THEM OUT BELOW.
Voting is simple. When you arrive at www.matildajaneclothing.com, simply click on the word ‘vote’ near the upper right. The Top 14 entries will then appear. You cast your vote by adding your favorites to your shopping bag and then checking out. As soon as you check out, your vote(s) will be cast. Pretty neat, huh? JUST BE SURE YOU COMPLETELY CHECK OUT.
Rules:
1.) You can add as many of your favorites to your bag that you want to.
2.) The site will allow you to add multiples of the same entry to your bag and even check out with them all, but only one vote for that entry will actually be tallied. So in other words, don’t waste time adding your favorite entry 50 times to your bag, because only one of those votes will actually be tallied.
3.) Only one vote is allowed per IP address. The site will allow you to “check out” multiple times from your IP address, but our filtering software throws out any additional “check outs” from your IP address. So, in other words, the first time you check out is the only time that will actually count….so be sure to cast your votes carefully.
4.) Voting will run from Friday, May 21st through Friday, May 28th at approximately 11:59pm Eastern.
5.) The winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
The Top 14!
1.) Beautiful
2.) Compliments
3.) Dad
4.) Holly Hobby
5.) Life of a Girl
7.) Mallory and Kate
8.) McD’s
9.) Old Watches
10.) One Fabric at a Time
12.) Polly Flinders
13.) Suitcase
14.) Too Purpley

Can I pick them all?
The entries are so great and each unique. Good luck to each of you!
So amazing and fun to see these wonderful entries! Congratulations you guys on such beautiful work!
All so cute, but I think my favorites are “Too Purpley” & “Beautiful”!
WOW there are some incredible entries. Seeing these makes me realize how lame mine was ahaha, I was days away from popping a baby out but WOW! Congrats ladies, it’s going to be hard to vote!
WOW! What great entries! My daughter came and danced beside the computer while the Beautiful song played and watched the video with me… she is 4 years old – turned and said- that is for Matilda Jane girls and smiled from ear to ear – to us – you took the cake! Hats off!
Denise, Oh how lucky you are to have the song BEAUTIFUL written about MJ clothing!! I found myself singing that song out loud making my coffee until my 4yr old Liam asked me to please stop. I can’t carry a tune but still have fun, what a bunch of great entries! Thanks for sharing!!
Each one is so different! What a great job by all the entrants and a fab job picking such diverse entries – love it! Off to vote!!!
What awesome entries…some made me laugh, some made me cry…totally unpredictable!
Those entries are outstanding! I like them all, but since you have to pick a winner I have narrowed my favorites to two. Beautiful and Life of a Girl! The two songs are so pretty. I am glad I never mailed my entry in b/c these blow mine away! lol. Congrats to the top 14!
Oh, you amazing, amazing ladies. Again, I am in awe of the creativity and imagination in these entries! Good luck to everyone ~ I have no idea how anyone could choose!
WOW!!! I just went through every last one of them and realize why it was so hard to choose. SO much thought and emotion went into ALL of them. Beautiful job, ladies and Congratulations! I love Patchwork of Memories and Dad. These 2 really tugged at me.
These are so clever! I wish I could of thought of anything half as good. gonna be tough!
While we all waited in anticipation to see the top ten (14) revealed…Denise, you and the 435 crew have truly been hard at work to present these entries so beautifully and make the voting so slick – you guys are AMAZING!
I hope this isn’t out of place to ask, but I am hoping there is someone at 435 that can use and love the little quilt I sent – if no one there wants it, will you please donate it to someone who needs a little love. That would make my day! Thanks tons!
[…] Well, you all know that I am a huge fan of Matilda Jane clothing and believe it rocks and it photographs so well. Well, I entered a contest and am so honored that I made it in the top 14. I am just praying that I win and can make a trip out to meet all the girls behind the Matilda Jane Clothing. Please go to their website and check out all the amazing clothing. It is not just for girls, they have some awesome adult clothing as well. I am actually wearing a dress from Matilda Jane as I type here. Go to the blog here : https://matildajaneblog.com/the-top-14/ […]
What wonderfully creative and talented fans MJC has! I LOOOOOVVVVE Life of a Girl (the toad getting covered in the MJC cardigan is priceless, and really shows that the clothes are for the ANYTIME girl). The Patchwork Memories was also a favorite. What a cherished piece of artwork for a child and the reminder to make everyday a ‘special day’ and to cherish those you love.
These are great. . .my favorite is the beautifully simple “Mallory and Kate.” Not as flashy as some of the others, but those girls’ drawings are really what MJ is all about. . .our daughters (and sons!)! I love that the children actually took a real role in the entry. And I love how those two girls are clearly happy when they wear (or draw!) their MJ clothes!
Great Job Ladies! They are all so unique! As a mom of 5 life is so filled with the must do’s that I value the moments I have to spend with my kids. Reading with my kids before bedtime is one of those moments, so I loved the book – Compliments … and better yet it has a great message of doing good!!
It is so heartwarming to see how one company can touch so many lives! What an amazing group of entries. One even made me cry! Good luck to all of the finalists…you should all be proud!
That beautiful song is so amazing…way to go…that is by far my favorite and definately so CREATIVE. I LOVE IT! I think I would have loved it even without the pictures of the cute clothing…especially the part about the dad pulling his hair out. How funny!
I just feel so blessed to have made it in the top 14. My little girl whet shopping with me to find the perfect suitcase and it wasn’t easy to find one, but after some work we made it our special MJ suitcase. I am so excited for everyone who made it in the top 14. What an honor it is just to make it. Best of luck to everyone. Thanks to all you girls at 435. Keep doing what you do to continue to bless our little girls in this awesome clothing.
God Bless!
Vanessa
Wow-they are all so different and unique in their own way-amazing job ladies!
I gotta vote for Holly Hobby, i’ve always thought of it when I think of MJ
I’ve got to vote for Holly Hobbie too because I have my own little Holly and also MJ does remind me of Holly Hobbie. I’ll vote for others too but that one is a sure thing for me.
Wow, they are all so special, it was so hard to vote!!! I have several favorites, but they are all touching in their own way! Good luck, ladies!
Oh, My. Goodness. Every single one of these is absolutely amazing!!! There is NO way these can be topped next year. You are going to have to come up with something else for sure! 😉 I usually have a very particular favorite, but this year I could have voted for them ALL!!! We will have the song beautiful in our heads all day. Good luck ladies.
p.s. I hope that all the finalists receive prize goodies for their AWESOME entries and the time, energy, and creativity they gave to this. They are all just so dang FABULOUS!!!
Okay. One. more. thing. hee-hee. We’ve been listening to “beautiful” over and over again and we just have to say that that litte girl’s grandpa’s voice is the perfect matching for MJ. His inflection, styling, the way he forms his words, the sound/tone of his voice and guitar all to us seem to epitomize MJ for some reason. We just love it!
great entries, unfortunately mine isnt up there! Maybe the girls can pull through on the model contest for me! Congrats to all the top 14!! and GL!
all of the entries are amazing… my entry was polly flinders- but is it bad that i can’t get “beautiful” out of my head!!!! i think it be my daughter and my new theme song:)
Oh they are all so good! I can see how you had a hard time.
I have to say that song is pretty dang creative!
Love them all…and Old Watches, I have a son named Avery and a daughter named Rya. I couldn’t believe it!
ahh, looks like im not gonna make it this year…boo!
Totally broken-hearted that my entry didn’t make it, but I did find one to love and cast my vote for it.
I can see what a difficult time you had narrowing it down-so much talent represented here! Thanks again for having the contest. It was a blast!
WOW, Denise…the love!!!
Those are wonderful!
OMG….such creativity! Wow. Hats off to all these entries.. I have 3 girls and I must confess that some entries struck such a chord that it brought me to tears! Amazing….
Gosh, these entries are incredible! How do you choose just one??!! Congrats & good luck to all the finalists…they were all so touching & creative!!
Denise loved all the entries and can’t wait to see who wins!! I was thinking today how much I love the Hotline Phyllis dress that you did. It’s so sweet and simple yet sophisticated. I just wanted to share with you a little feedback that I’d love for you to do that style again in the future!! It’s truely a timeless little dress, Take care.
What great entries. After viewing them all it made me want to buy even more of your clothes! A quick shout out to “COMPLIMENTS”, Isn’t that what we all want is for our girl to make a small difference and they can sure look cute doing it!
Leah I was shocked your entry didn’t make it…so heartwarming! I LOVED it and would have SO voted for you 😉
They are all really good. I was touched by “Life of a girl.” I watched it with my 6-year old daughter and held on to her and just took her in. I don’t want her to grow up. I got very choked up. Nice job.
i really enjoyed reading and looking through all of the entries. “too purpley” was my very favorite, because making books for children to help ease transitions and choice-making is part of what i do with some of the children i work with. the book looks fabulous! i absolutely love it!
