Things That Make Me Giggle

Hello blog readers. This is Emily writing to you for the first time. I work in the warehouse here at Matilda Jane. Last week I got a note from a customer who so enjoyed the way I sign my name (with the dragonfly next to it) that she sent me a card with sparkly dragonflies whose wings pop out to become 3D. I was really surprised and flattered that someone took time out of their day to thank me for writing a little note on her order. Thank you , Lois, I smiled all day:)Then, a couple of days later another customer, Amy, sent me a shout out in an email. Thanks, Amy!

What is going on? I thought to myself…. and was reminded that if you send smiles out into the universe they will come back to you in unexpected ways.

I love to laugh and giggle to myself a lot during the course if a day in the warehouse. These smiles often catch me by surprise. When Ann, who packs at a table close to mine, suddenly bursts into song in her gravely voice, I giggle.  When Carrie, who is always hauling something across the parking lot, shrugs her shoulders and smiles, I giggle. Every time I see Myrtle Big Ruffle Pants, I giggle and remember the fun we had wearing them together in the warehouse. When Chris and Kacey shout at each other across the warehouse about silly stuff, I giggle. When I walk by Amber’s table and she is packing and dancing, I giggle.

We work hard in the warehouse. I am so grateful to have coworkers, able to make me giggle without even trying. My daughter Evelyn, who is a very wise 6 year old says, “Mom. Sometimes you just have to laugh.” I think she’s right:)

I just read your blog and was thinking “what makes me giggle”? While thinking this, My daughter (she is two) put a little bit of lotion in her hand. I looked down and she starts putting it on my leg. Just as she started rubbing it in she said “Mommy I Lub You” she melted my heart and made me giggle at the same time. Thank you for this post, I will be reminding myself what makes me giggle today :)

Emily, I can just “see” all the positive energy and smiles there at the warehouse. Your daughter is so very wise and my wish for both you and Evelyn is to always remember to laugh. Your sock monkey hat made me smile. Have a great day (and a super weekend)

That is my favorite thing to do.. Laugh. It’s also contagious:) in my family one person starts laughing and the rest of us are soon laughing too.. most of the time it’s at nothing at all, we’re all just sitting there laughing. Life is funny.
