And I do believe that this is going to be an amazing Field Trip. I must say it feels a little strange to me. I am always zones away. I am just finishing up Spring 2011 and am in love. So last year when I couldn’t stop talking/thinking about Field Trip, you were all talking Hammond Bay. Am I making sense? For real, I may be losing my mind. It is so full with so much $#6@, I can’t keep it straight.
But I do know Grizellie (first to say pet) and Darlene (first to say cat), mom to four princesses both won 250 bucks!!! Cuz what we are going, well, were going to go on a Field Trip for was a cat. But know I am torn cuz Chris is allergic and I hate, I repeat HATE cat hair. Yes, I have a cat but I mop 2x a day and use a lint brush 3 times. Hmmm, we’ll see. If I knew I could get her to stay in the office (yes, the office that has a new phone system (well, used new phone system)) then I would go tomorrow.
Hmmm..what to do.. Input is always good here.

get a cute hairless cat- or get a long haired cat and have it groomed short – with a puffy mane and tail
Lucky girls…I could have used that gift card Field Trip is TDF and I have WAY to much on my list!
I have no advice because we just put our cat to sleep and while I do miss him, I am actually enjoying the fact that we have no more cat hair to deal with! (But now my kids want a dog, uh oh.)
Congratulations winners!!! How awesome to 250 MJ bucks!!!
Oh lookie… little Stella is driving – so cute! I would love to spend a few minutes in your head… hmmmm, no advice on the cat hair – I told my girls no pets with hair. So now we have a hermit crab and soon we will have a turtle
I own a country store, we have a store cat, everyone loves her! I’m not a cat fan but she’s grown on me and she’s at the door every morning when we open! She goes out at night 😉
You need the Austin Powers cat…Was it MR. bigglesworth or something like that??!!! Hairless…
Oh, i’m with you I hate cats and my son loves them. Poor thing will never get one 😉
Benadryl…and name the cat Benny so you never forget to take it. Oh, how I wish I could get my little girl a cat, she is so in love with kittens, but I am so very allergic 🙁
Love the picture, so fun!
I know how you feel, pet hair is noooo fun… but pets are 🙂
so here’s a little advice from a momma that despises pet hair but LOVES pets…
1) get a dyson pet hair vacuum (sp?) it is AMAZINNGGG
2)and let the cat know early on that some spots are pet free spots, keeping a spray bottle with water close by helps, just spray every time it gets on couch/bed/desk, they learn pretty quick
Hope this helps! Have fun with the field trip and I LOVE THE NEW MJ clothes!!!
And remember… try to enjoy that little kitty 🙂
Congrats to the winners…I confess I’m really jealous, but never in a million year would I have guessed that so you deserve your reward!
Congrats winners! That was an awesome guess! I wouldn’t have never thought of it, but hey, I thought of Spanx! I would nix the cat with an allergic gal in the office. Also I’m so allergic the thought of my pretties coming from your digs with a cat now makes me nervous. But whatevs. 😉 But a BIRD in a killer retro cage would be cool. You could name it Captain Morgan and teach it to say cool things like “get me a diet coke on the double” and “cheeky” and some MJ gangsta talk. Yah. That’s my vote!!! xo
You must must must get central vac. Instead of going crazy with the lint brush and swifting all the time vaccuum-city sweetheart=) I didnt even look to see if someone else offered this advice..
Love this image! The driver is a hoot and S, D & K made me smile.
Sorry but if Chris is allergic then I must vote no.
You know you always get cats in pairs, right? Don’t go three though, no matter how much people tell you, “Oh, one more won’t make that much of a difference!”.
Naming contest…only after we get to see them though!
Oh, almost forgot, from past experience long haired cats always gave me less trouble than short hair in terms of allergies.
we just put our kitty down TODAY literally, so please get a kitty for me- they are the best! (Preferably a calico like our sweet Pumpkin!!)
…well,i would have never guessed a cat in the office, definitely stumped on that one! congrats winners!
Wow! A cat! I thought it would have been harder. Congrats girls! You are lucky ladies. You rock Day to the Oh, I agree with the retro bird cage, totally cool idea. I can’t believe I did not think of it first. Great minds think alike I guess. Speaking of Captain Morgan, I think I need something stronger! Stress has hit me hard lately and not sure what to do about it. Well TTYL girls and try to relax a bit Denise. Easier said than done I know. I hate when people tell me to relax! Anyway, congrats again!
How about a zhu zhu pet? No hair, no litter box and no food.
The answer to that question is getting a MR. Bigglesworth cat like Dr. Evil in Austin powers…. That would solve the allergy and fur problem… but it would be a face only a mother could love…. Groovy field trip baby! Congrats to the winners!
Guessed a zillion times and never would have guessed a cat! Congrats winners-enjoy shopping!!! I am going to have to say top pass on the cat if there are allergies-sorry. I am a teacher and always go for the hermit crab!!!
We were able to make cat free areas in our house – we put tape sticky side up ( afew pieces side by side) and the cats would not cross it – after a few weeks we were able to remove the tape and the cats did not go in those areas. Worked great!
Not a fan of cats either, especially cat hair! And might be a concern for those with allergies to cat hair. How about a fish tank? 🙂
Get the 435 gals a cat!! Besides the hair….you already know how easy they are! Plus, just think of the cute cat ribbon you could put on a piece of MJ…inspired by the cat of 435!! 🙂
I am allergic to cats too but I’m okay as long as I don’t touch them! Certain cats don’t bother me at all. Maybe you could test drive one. Good luck I think a shop cat is a great idea.
Oh my!!! I am so excited! Seriously, I never imagined pet would be right but I was trying to guess off the charts…ha! Thanks so much!!!
The answer is simple… get a dog instead.
I just gotta day that Stella look hot driving Sam and Kayla around.
But to be honest i was also thinking about Romeo would do to Sam (the cat) if he ran into her! Yikes.
Love Sam’s car and the whole nine yards.. Awesome picture!
Denise, you are so particular about all the goodies, even down to buttons, and ribbon, and wrinkles. I’m not sure you could manage cat hair, everywhere. Cats are such climbers. Adopt a sweet, mature dog, it will love your girls to death, and give them a smile everyday, and Chris will be “sneeze free”.
One word …. Fish… No shedding…. No allergies… Cute to look at… Good luck..
ooo…not sure about a cat, the shedding, ugh…I think a fish tank is a great idea!
Denise, my husband is very allergic to cats and dogs. I highly recommend Allerpet, you dampen a cloth and rub it on the cat. It helps reduce the saliva and dander which people are allergic to. It does not harm the cat ofcourse but will seriously help with her allergic reaction to the cat’s dander. It can be purchased at the Petstore. Congrats to the WINNERS!!
Is there a fish tank service? That would be a nice way to go. You pick the fish but someone else maintains the tank. Fish are SO relaxing and can de-stress you very quickly. I wish I could have a cat, but choose not to because two frequent visitors to our house are allergic. Congrats to the winners! Field trip is awesome. I am sitting this round out for budget issues, but will enjoy seeing all the photos and guessing which sells out first! Have fun! Loving this blog and comments on FB! 🙂
Just have to once again say THANK YOU!!! I came home today only to receive multiple packages with many EXTRAS!!! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect such a thoughtful gift!!! Your talent is amazing! The customer service is like no other!! THE BEST!!!! Thanks again for all you do!!~Robin
Denise, I just had to make a post on the blog to tell you thank you for all my beautiful extras that was in with my Platinum. Totally unexpected boxes of wonderful. Just like Christmas around here!! You have certainly made my day. We love you and all the Matilda Jane gang!
Got to touch and feel the beautiful clothes today hooray!!! Of course got more than what was on my list, but I get sucked in. So sucked in, in fact, that I forget about the other releases and will be out of money! lol anyhoo… I got my fix today and am excited… still say a RETRO cage on a stand with a BIRD named Captain Morgan is the way to go. 😉
You all really know how to make a Grandmother have a wonderful wonderful day. Thank you to Kiara. Thank you to Sam. Thank you to Sara. Thank you Thank you Matilda Jane Clothing.
How fun! I love cats, so in my opinion I’m sure it would be a fabulous addition to your mjc family.
I just have to say thank you again for all the extras included in my platnium orders. I’ve been going a little crazy lately and felt extremely guilty about ordering even MORE on my last platnium orders, but the extras made me so glad I ordered! Yipee!!! I would have been so bummed if I would have been reading about everyone else getting them and not me! I’m so excited to give one of my extra tanks and a skirt to our little neighbor whose mom loves mjc but doesn’t have the budget right now. So your love will be passed on…thanks so much!!!!!!
CONGRATS winners! And thanks MJC for making me feel like a winner when I opened my Platinum box! I never would have expected the extra goodies…and on my birthday to boot! You made my day! 🙂 And Whitley Kate has been whirling and twirling in the darling dress that you sent. The blue brings out the blue in her eyes! 🙂
Our little granddaughter, Kellee, she’s 3, came in the house this morning at 7:30 twirling in her Megan knot dress from Platinum. It made MiMi’s day! If you’ve been watching that dress, and thinking about buying it…buy it, it is sooo pretty! That’s why we love Matilda Jane.
You could get a hairless cat!!! My husband and I used to breed and show them before we had children. But just because the cat is hairless does not mean it is hypoallergenic. It will still produce dander (which is what most people are allergic to) but since it doesn’t have hair the dander will not collect. Plus if you give it a bath each week (which most hairless cat owners start when they are kittens, and they usually like it) the dander gets washed away!!! Let me know if you have questions about them. We kept a few for pets when we quit breeding. My motto has always been, “once you go bare you will never want hair!!!!!” Love my hairless kitties!!!!
Since I’m allergic to just about anything you’d ever want as a pet – cats, dogs, rabbits, etc… I NEVER would have guessed an animal! Who’da thunk? Lucky kitty! Maybe it’ll be like the Bush’s beans dog and try to spill your secrets! LOL
NO, don’t do it! Not a big fan of cats…several bad experiences. I like the Zhu Zhu pet suggestion..no litter box to clean, no shedding, no “accidents” outside the litter box and you can even go home guilt free if you forget to feed it!
For some reason, this post reminds me of my favorite Kitson tank top, “Practice Random Acts of Kindess.” As I got to think of it, that would be the perfect tank for little girls 🙂
