‘Twas Two Days Before Art Fair…

Today, as we do last minute preparations for the Art Fair, I got to thinking how this week feels just like the week before Christmas. The beginning of the week, everyone was excited but very busy and didn’t have time to realize that Art Fair is Saturday. Then, it started to sink in with everyone. The anticipation and excitement began growing. Now, I can see how ecstatic everyone at Matilda Jane is for this Art Fair. It is so neat to see something everyone has been working on for so long coming to life and actually happening. Lauren and I keep saying “I am so excited!!! I feel like Saturday is Christmas!!!!”.

Then I thought, instead of receiving gifts we get to help you buy your presents, whether it is for your daughter, niece, etc. and that is way better than opening anything on Christmas day! We get to see the happiness in your faces as you pick up a dress, top, or anything. We get to spread our joy and excitement on that day!! Then, you get to spread the love by giving someone Matilda Jane, whether it is yourself or that little girl of yours! That is just a wonderful feeling, to be a part of something that makes you so pumped you feel like a little kid on Christmas morning.

Now, I was wondering if all of you felt like it was the week before Christmas? Do you already have an idea of what you want to buy? Are you excited to spread happiness?! It is only 45 hours and 55 minutes away!!! Can’t wait to see all of you!!!

Sincerely,
Jamie

It really is so exciting for all of your customers (followers) and so glad it feels the same for all of you! I keep wondering what you will have this year compared to last and how I need to not spend as much as last year!!! I am so hoping for a Sleeping Beauty Ellie and some cute dresses (that is all my DD will wear at the moment)!! Can’t wait for the fun (and craziness)! Thanks for all your hard work! Everyone will be smiling!

… well around here, we kind of feel like the little kid with the lump of coal in her stocking by not getting to come!!!! We are soooo seriously bummed not to be there. But since we couldn’t get into the kid pre-party on my daughter’s 2nd-birthday, so we just decided it was better then to celebrate at home. I’m so excited to see all those special things that the good mummies & little girls bring home with them. How exciting it will be as they shoppe for those perfect pieces.

Will there be any linen ruffles (like the Lindeys) or denim ruffles? :)

Maranda B - June 23, 2011 - 12:58 pm

This will be my first Art Fair and I’m downright giddy! This will also be the first time I’ve left my daughter overnight. So I’m nervous too!

Nancy - June 23, 2011 - 1:11 pm

Excited for all of those that get to have the opportunity to go this year, so sad I live too far away :( Hope it goes off without a hitch!! And that I might get a chance of some of that unique cuteness someday!!

Heather farr - June 23, 2011 - 1:37 pm

I feel like it is Christmas without my family, sense I am not getting to come. I spend Christmas every year in Texas when my mom, brothers and their families are back home in Alabama. So sad, not a good feeling. The good feeling is there are women who have not been away from the kids before and they are going to be in heaven when they step in 435. What a dream come true, enjoy ladies, you are blessed!!!

Jacci - June 23, 2011 - 1:38 pm

Yes! Excited, nervous, giddy, etc… Wish I would’ve made the time to buy myself something cute to wear (my hubby would def. make fun of me for shopping in prep to go shopping). Hoping to see lots of halter dresses and hobos. And when you said for “myself” does that mean there may be ADULT??? EEEKKKKKKK!

aimee - June 23, 2011 - 2:09 pm

It makes me so excited to read your blogs and the anticipation of art fair! Only problem is i wont be there! i would have loved to come but just cant swing it this year! I hope you all have a blast! And maybe somebody will bring me back a goodie or two for one of my girls!

Tonya - June 23, 2011 - 3:14 pm

Will be thinking about artfair as we celebrate my oldest daughter’s “5th” birthday…..Not sure what makes me more sad……that I’ll be missing Art Fair or that my baby is turning 5!!!!

hot-out-here and very HOT there.. :) - June 23, 2011 - 3:54 pm

Made my list, checked it twice. Credit Cards on the art fair ride.

jeana - June 23, 2011 - 4:56 pm

I so wish I could be there!!! Still super excited to see pics of what everyone else picks up.

beautifulclothing - June 23, 2011 - 6:07 pm

so wish that i was able to make it to the art fair. I would love to have some new goodies for my little girl and a hobo for myself.

Christina - June 23, 2011 - 7:27 pm

Yes, I definitely feel like it is Christmas! My girlfriend and I have talked 20 times today–to prepare, what to pack, giggling with excitement! I have a lots of ideas of what I would love to see, but know that irregardless, I will definitely find something that I will love for my little girl. And, I can not WAIT to get back to the hotel to show my purchases to her–she loves her Matilda Jane, too! Looking so forward to meeting everyone!

Kristin Z. - June 23, 2011 - 9:35 pm

I have absolutely no idea what I will be buying, and that’s half the fun! Given that it’s my first Art Fair experience, I’m just excited to walk around and see MJ ‘in action.’ I’ll be leaving my girls at home so that I can get some quality shopping time (or else my girl would want to try on every single thing there), but Audrey keeps asking me what I’m bringing back from the ‘Fashion Festival.’ I’m pumped to surprise her with whatever catches my eye!

Bee - June 24, 2011 - 8:19 am

It’s like Christmas waiting to see what all is planned for 435 and how awesome it all turns out. It’s like Christmas waiting for new Platinum pieces and it always feels like Christmas when a package from MJC arrives.(all our family lives in other states so Christmas comes in boxes every year;-)I just can’t wait to experience it all through the blog….how stinkin’ fun!!!

Katie Lou Blanton - June 24, 2011 - 9:16 am

SO excited! My little girl will be 6 on July 8th so I hope to grab her a couple things for her birthday (she loves her MJ!) and also something for my youngest girl! Major budget here but hopping tograb something for my brother’s little girl too. And I never get out with “the girls” so I am looking forward to making the road trip with a friend from my highschool days!
