Being a lady

So much about Matilda Jane is centered around friendship. Ahh, friendship and emotion actually. I wonder if you guys can feel it when you call the office, or see it when you go to a trunk show. Do you think it’s because it’s a bunch of woman running the show, and what woman can separate emotion from her work? Or separate emotion from anything really.

(I know I look like a troll, but I just love Michelle!)

I’m definitely one of those gals. The kind that “takes her work home with her” or whatever. Even when I’m not at MJC I’m dreaming about fabric, checking the facebook, sending emails, and thinking about the people I get to share my days with. Sometimes I wonder if it’s the work that I love or the people at MJC more. I will never be able to decide because I know I could never have one without the other.

I guess I’m just feeling….emotional today. Forever and always emotional about MJC, and all the trials and tribulations, the tears and the laughter, the fabric and the emails, that come with it. Sure it can be a roller coaster, but I would be silly not to enjoy the ride.

LOVE,

SAM

You have been given a Beautiful, Wonderful Gift. Thank you for sharing the gift of God’s Love in your work (yes, it shows) teaching and giving God’s Love and knowledge to ladies and children in Africa. God Bless You. :)

Sam – I am pretty sure you could NEVER look like a troll.

Thanks for this post! I don’t have any children yet, so I’m always focused on the women’s clothing. I think I need to start saving for Aug. 15 b/c I don’t think I can live without that dress! It reminds me a bit of the Cheerio Dress from Serendipity, which was my go-to favorite dress of the summer. Love MJC’s clothing, style, and spirit!

Must have a “Midwest is Best” tee!

“Life is a journey, not a destination …” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson (but Aerosmith said it, too).

Yes, it’s all about the journey. The colors and light seen. The lessons learned. The friends met and kept. The ride … not the stop-overs … not the destination. It is the ride that counts.

I have only ever had great experiences with Matilda Jane. Shout out to Becky!

OMG – I need that dress!! And I agree with Becky, you couldn’t look like a troll even if you tried…

Emotional of course! You are a woman that means heart and soul in everyting you do. So it is only natural to be emotional about this woderful company, not really a company but collection of talented friends, that you work for!

Vanessa - July 16, 2012 - 11:33 am

You couldn’t hide it if you tried (and why would you ever want to) you ladies have heart!

It’s the heart as much as the amazing eye for design that keeps me coming back.

YES! Thanks to a mutual love of Matilda Jane, it’s brought me together with a number of both local & long-distance friends…sweet, caring (and fashionable!) people I wouldn’t have met had it not been for your clothes. I chat with these ladies daily. With our local group, us moms get to break away for lunch and dinners for much needed mommy-dates; our kids have playdates and new friends as well. And all of this because of MJ!

Keep doing what y’all are doing…with passion and heart!

Most women in today’s workforce cannot imagine taking emotions to work. How wonderful that you have created this unique and successful business, where you can experience loving those you work with and impacting the world, while admitting to feeling emotion while doing it! Beautiful.

So looking forward to the fall! Love the post.

A troll? You mean those ugly fantastic crap things from Germany? You could never look like one of those… or any other kind of troll. You and Michelle are too beautiful! Your work is good because your emotions are involved and the love shows through… no need to separate that!

I appreciate this post, but I do think that some of the ladies in your office need to check their emotions and attitudes at the door. I’ve had more than one not-so-friendly encounter with the gals answering the phone (names shall remain unmentioned). I’m in sales/customer service and I would NEVER treat my customers the way some of your girls treat us.

Just my two cents!
