And what a weekend, or should I say week, it had been. Little Miss Sara Brown is now a graduate waiting for all the good things life has in store for her! Oh, I love this girl and I am certain many of you will see her at Art Fair.
This is my second week up in Northern Michigan. Joe has been going to speech 2x daily. Seriously, he is a great patient. He really wants to improve his speech and the days are getting long. They filled with therapy and plenty of homework. Afterall, we didn’t take all this time off and come all this way to sit and watch TV. So lots of sounding out letters, breathing exercises and trying to gain some muscle in his tongue. Fun stuff all around.
Sorry I have been a slacker blogger. For some reason as soon as you start feeling at home up here the days seem to get a way with you. It has been so relaxing and so much work all at the same time. Oh, and we got a house. We’ve been looking for years. We wanted lots of land, hills, skiing and the beach and of course all at a price that is affordable. I was googling on the way home from Spring Break and found the perfect one. We thought it was a joke, it was so perfect on all 5 points. I’ll share that later.
But now I gotta get in and work one some letter R’s!!

Congrats to Sarah Brown! She looks so lovely! All the best to her in this exciting new chapter of life!
And how exciting about your house, yay! Enjoy your time away & I know that Joe is working hard & will have SO much progress to show for it. Work hard & play hard! Have a beautiful, blessed summer!
Congratulations Miss Sara! What an exciting time in your life! Wishing you many happy adventures ahead!! All of your hard work & dedication will pay off…keep it up Joe ;)!!
Joe: Please know that we are SO proud & are all rooting for you … go Joe :-)! As for “Little Miss” Sarah Brown: Congrats (love the ‘photo, by the way)! Oh my gosh, I just can’t believe it, though … time sure flies! And, last but not least … to Denise and David: Congrats to you as well! I am SO happy for you, and you two absolutely deserve it (it also sounds like the type of property where the boys can have so much fun doing so many different things)! My family and I moved here to MI (we’re in the SW part of the state though … close to the IN/MI state-line) last year and love it … from the Lake to all the vineyards (it’s gonna be a tough year for the farmers, though … :-(), this is such a pretty state!
I am so proud of you for standing behind Joe and even though he didn’t want to go to speech- you knew it was best for him- and sounds like everything worked out!!!! So happy for you!:)
I couldn’t help but to keep thinking about your post … clearly, you already know this, Denise, but since I believe that sometimes it helps to hear it from others (at least for me :-)) … I just wanted to say that (and I absolutely LOVE this blog … my fave, bar none … with the exception of TGO, of course :-)): Please don’t worry about updating it, etc.! Our “Hero Joe” needs you right now … cherish each and every moment you spend with him … without worrying about us … we will all be here waiting patiently! Besides, you have an amazing team of girls (whose heart-warming & thoughtful entries I so enjoy reading) to back you up!! I’m also thinking that Mr. Gabe may be starting to miss his mama … so … would you please now go give Joe a BIG hug & make a sweet ‘phone call to Gabe … love you (& your boys)!
