David took the boys skiing today so I could run to 433 and cut for Art Fair. From 10am till 8 pm I relished in fabrics galore as my mind wandered back to being at Fairfield Manor. I love that place. It was cozy and just felt right. Today, I missed those days. If you asked e what I miss about the early years, I’m not sure I could give you a straight answer. That’s something I gotta think about. I kinda feel like I worked different then. I would cut all day and iron or sew button all night. Now, I kinda feel like I sit in front of this computer a ton. Ha, and I’m not even sure what I do when I sit here all day! Hmmm… I’m gonna think about this one for a while.
So I am thinking these pics are from early 2004? And I truly believe Betsy King took this pic of my boys in what would have been her early years too. So Betsy, what do you think, 2004?

Wait, I am so wrong!! Gabe wasn’t even born in 2004. Ha!!! Crazy I never realized that till I looked at the above pics Betsy took and they were dated 2007. Yup, my favorite shots of my boys EVER!! Thanks Betsy!!!Whoa, long day of too much deep thought. But I am gonna still say the 2 top pics are 2004. The one of all the clothes was when I had the great idea we would re-do our garage and i could work out of the garage. It worked out great till it rained and was freezing.2009
And if you want to see something real funny, here is what I was talking about in 2007 and in 2008, and in 2009, and in 2010, and in 2011. Ya this could go on and on! But Franklin is scratching at the door and the boys are due home any second so I should go act like I am cleaning or something.

Nice!
Have a great night!
I just had to go back to 2008 when I first started buying MJ. Memories
.
Glad to know that you pretend to have been cleaning too
I love the pics and your Sticks bed. We have some Sticks pieces as well.
Thank you for the walk down memory lane. I found myself lost in your 2009 blogs, reminiscing about my pregnancy with Aubrey and the purchase of my first knot….daisy lace…. Seems like so long ago! Thank you MJC for the past, and looking forward to the future!!
Oh those boys of yours! It’s been fun to see them grow these past 4 years, and I’ve been following your chattering since then as well
. HUgs!
What a fun post! I enjoyed looking at the archives, a little walk down MJ memory lane!
I had to smile when I read what you had written about GFS… My hubs started working at Gordons as a stock boy when he was just 16 and is now a General Manager here in Michigan
We just love that company!
oh i spy a sticks bed! please tell me, do you love it? omgoodness…i am dreaming of owning a sticks piece (or ten!). i am hoping to get a special sticks item for each of my children and then one for our house for the whole family to enjoy. don’t know how the heck that is *ever* gonna happen with my MJC obsession and my soon to be TGO obsession! hehe. got a feeling i’m in *trouble* come march 1! so fun to read mjc’s yesteryear, since i only met ya during field trip. don’t know we never crossed paths the first four years of my daughter’s life. *pout* (may i say, love your blogs, ms. denise! oh and your darling boys…so dang handsome!)
Memory lane is a good place to go. I remember those pictures. It was good to see them again!
Michelle-
I am a HUGE GFS fan!! IS swear they taught me so much in my internship, so much. It s such and amazing company, talk about hard work and passion!
Steph- I LOVE Sticks. Before we had kids we made the trek our to visit their studio. We saved and saved for that bed! We got Joe a toy box when he was a kid, well, now it it more of a memory box. David is really pushing hard for a dining room table but dang, they are so much (worth every penny though) just not sure how many markers would be all over it!!
Awwwww, I remember Fairfield too! What an exciting time. I remember the trimmings falling on the floor at the feet of the cute girls ironing and clothes stacked to the ceiling. (in rooms, after rooms and after rooms.) So wonderful to see you guys grow! Oh and you can’t forget those awesome apartments upstairs!
Oh and Goliath too of course! Bless his heart!
I know I’ve told you this before, but I’m so blessed that you trusted me with photos of your sweet boys (and girls…) when I was so new. Still so thankful to be invited. : ) I can’t believe how little Joe and Gabe were! Oh my goodness. I remember how he would hold up his little juice glass….what a precious punkin!!!!
PS Your old bedroom + bed + white bedspread was so great to shoot on!!!!! A noob couldn’t have got any luckier!!!
Love the STICKS bed ! It reminds me so much of the midwest
I love to look through stores in Michigan that carry so many of the Sticks items.
Awww – I see the fabrics from the Violet knot dress. Our first MJ dress. My daughter wore it in size 12 months
Now she’s wearing size 6. I also see green & yellow crysthanamum fabric. One of my favorite ever. I feel like I’m visiting old friends seeing some of those fabrics again
My favorite was the one of Gabe’s muscles, so darn cute. I still have these saved.
Wow … the last 3 ‘photos almost made me cry …
I remember seeing them “real-time,”
marveling at how handsome your boys were
(as they are today)! Thank you for sharing!
OH MY GOODNESS!!! Gotta love some baby cheeks! Blink a few more times, and they’ll be starting high school and going to driver’s ed. You can still steal a few kisses every now and then, though!
